It’s Probably Nothing

Al Jazeera;

Authorities in Iran have confirmed three new cases of the coronavirus, a day after two people died from the infection in the city of Qom.

Alireza Vahabzadeh, an adviser to Iran’s health minister, said on Wednesday a total of five cases have been confirmed in Iran so far.

“The three new cases from today include two in Qom and one in Araq in central Iran. The case in Araq is a doctor,” he told Al Jazeera. “It remains unclear where the virus in Iran has come.”

The deaths in Iran on Tuesday were the first fatalities in the Middle East region and only the seventh and eighth death caused by the virus outside mainland China. A health official cited by the semi-official IRNA news agency said the victims had not had any contact with foreigners or with Chinese nationals.

  1. According to my research, Iran is ill-equipped to deal with this kind of bio hazard. Iranian medical infrastructure & its lack of funding will likely make the average Iranian very vulnerable going fwd.
Perhaps Blackie LeGroper will sign a few cheques to his good pal Iran’s foreign minister?

    1. No worries Blackface will have a fleet of 777’s & A330’s warming on the tarmac.
Navel medical ships are probably already headed to the Gulf…………….

  2. in authoritarian communities, information flow is very slow, as no one wants to talk about anything, out of fear of punishing results! This applies to both China and Iran

  3. “It remains unclear where the virus in Iran has come.”

    Hint: China.

Just follow the yellow cake, and biochemical trail.

    1. BINGO!

The “technical” links between China and Iran are very deep and go back decades.

      Remember the “Silkworm” missile crisis?

    1. Nope. Its a guarantee we will. But putting it off a bit is ok.

Health pros don’t dress up in that kind of giddy-up because Sum Yung Guy has the Sniffles and they don’t put Sum Yung in some kind of self-contained atmospheric bubble on a stretcher because they might fart.

“The cruise ship was completely inadequate in terms of the infection control,” Iwata said in the clips, according to Kyoto news agency. Iwata, who had inspected the situation aboard on Tuesday, indicated there was no distinction between infection zones and infection-free zones, calling the situation “chaotic.”
Iwata, who had previously been in Africa amid the ebola outbreak, in China during the SARS outbreak and also in other countries suffering cholera epidemics, said he was most scared aboard the Diamond Princess.

  4. If I was in the CCCP and had a beef with another country who might be interfering with them, then sending in a couple of super spreaders would certainly focus their minds elsewhere wouldn’t it. Not sure if Iran is upset about the re-education camps or is in China’s bad books or not. Why let a good world wide crisis go to waste when it would be extremely difficult to pin the blame on someone, I am sure a lot of dissidents are mysteriously coming down with Covid-19 and being immediately cremated before the bodies can be examined – for bullet-holes or other possible causes of death. The cremation order went out about a week ago IIRC so not exhuming any bodies now.

Those extremely suspicious Russians may have already figured this out which is why the border is closed to China and Chinese. If I was Taiwanese I would be very careful too.

  5. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

Slap a mask on someone, drag them away never to be seen again. Burn the bodies.
How convenient for a number of regimes around the world ?

  6. Two possibilities. 1) Someone who had contact with Chinese brought the virus to Iran and it’s everywhere in Iran now. 2) The Iranian government just found the perfect excuse to disappear a lot of people they don’t like.
