I, For One, Welcome Our New Self-Driving Overlords

We live in a century that criminalizes the sale of plastic straws and grocery bags as Elon Musk shotguns thousands of satellites into orbit and nobody seemingly gives a damn: after he has control of the entire planet’s WiFi, we guess that Musk will probably use that power to ban access to anyone who makes a snide remark or offers criticism about any of his companies on the web.

  1. That tesla is worth far more than Ford, GM and Chrysler combined, should really be of concern. It is a 146 billion bubble that will soon pop.

  2. Re: “SpaceX has failed 11 out of 65 landings, according to the company, though they have not publicly commented on Monday’s miss.”
That should read SpaceX has been successful in 54 out of 65 landings.

Pretty impressive when you consider most of the failed landings have been on the offshore drone ship. I can recall only one failed landing at Cape Canaveral last year when a steering vane malfunctioned (I witnessed the attempt). There will probably be more failed attempts at offshore landings as SpaceX seems to be moving in that direction as it allows more fuel to be used to reach higher orbits. I believe that rocket has been used three times previously. As for cluttering up space with that many satellites – that’s another issue.

  3. These satellites, by the way, are killing the ground-based astronomy as we know it due to excessively high albedo of each of them.
The Scum Lord does not give a fk about anyone other than himself.

I am from the generation of .com entrepreneurs, whose accounts his Paypal had routinely blocked and raided, while he owned the payment company. The sale of Paypal to Ebay was like the end of holocaust. The Scum Lord will not stop before anything on his way to billions.
Like Zukerberg’s billions are entirely based on a criminal offense of stealing his school’s database, the Scum lord based his fortunes on using other’s moneys for personal gain w/o authorization.

  4. High-speed internet available everywhere, from satellites, controlled by a megalomaniacal, “philanthropic” billionaire with no [?] previous foray into telecommunications, let alone global telecoms….

This reminds me of the plot to a movie I saw.
