Not to argue … but Lewis Hamilton (somewhat black) is arguably the worlds TOP F-1 driver. He would probably lap the field at Daytona … several times

Back in the day there was no bigger NASCAR fan than me. They started to lose my interest with the “commitment cone”. A lot more lost interest with “playoffs”. Now with “stage racing”, I’m done with it.
Kenji is correct – NASCAR doesn’t even begin to compare with the F1 circuit. The jalopies raced in Daytona are light years behind the F1 cars as are the drivers. If they were as talented as Hamilton I would expect them to jump to the F1 circuit where Hamilton is set to make almost $50 million U.S. this year (not counting endorsements).
Well, I was invited to no longer participate (read: fired) when I was on a “prize committee” for a bike race decades ago when all this was just starting.
Leaning heavily on my feminist indoctrination that women should be treated equally (before any trans stuff clouded the water) I said: “Hey, why don’t we just give a really big prize to the winner, a good prize to the second place finisher and a little something for the third place finisher? Why have any male of female divide at all?”
Also: a good way to get out of having to deal with committee work.
I utterly lost complete interest in anything daytona the time my brother drove there with my dad the only chance he had to see a race, and they INSISTED on carrying out the marching band 1 complete lap ritual despite looming clouds.

they used to send the marching band to my hi school. one day Im looking at the stage thinking, jeezuz murphy. what a cocky looking bunch. are they all americans? YEP !!!!

I’m not the literary type I was as a young man, but literature was always important to me. I am really happy I studied and lived during a time when talent expressed itself…..then drank itself to death.

BTW … my WHITE wife has spent her teaching career … helping (mostly) little black children attain the tools for SUCCESS. Her classroom of little tykes all don UCLA t-shirts (their adopted college) as a motivation for a college education. She has all her little kids working outside the classroom on an interactive reading program that allows her to see the children’s progress and target her teaching to each child’s individual needs. She has done, and IS doing soooooooo much for these little kids.

Her UNION just published a DEMAND that her school district to hire MORE and ONLY black teachers to “properly” teach the “urban” children. I can only imagine what crap their heads would be filled with. And BTW … my wife is the MOST requested teacher in her school. Her children and parents (or grandparents) all love her. Even the crackhead moms who send their kids to school sleepy, dirty, and hungry. The same kids who write personal stories about mommy’s boyfriend to likes to get naked with mom, and about their Uncle who got shot last month. Challenging children, who she LOVES like her own. But she be whitey … she be baaaaad.
