I, For One, Welcome Our New Self-Driving Overlords

The cat and the laser-pointer;

A team of researchers in Israel have successfully tricked Tesla’s and Mobileye’s driver assistance features into stopping for pedestrians that weren’t there, and driving at speed limits posted on signs that don’t exist, exposing a possible flaw in modern automotive tech that could prove dangerous if exploited.

Researcher Ben Nassi from Ben-Gurion University just recently fooled a Tesla Model X running Version 2.5 hardware using a simple video projector. Nassi had previously fooled a Mobileye 630 Pro driver assist system with the same device. Nassi calls the system “Phantom of the ADAS.”

  1. FFS we don’t have self driving trains or Zambonies yet…….. and preppy millenials think Elon can drive their car?!?!?!?!?

    1. You’ve hit the nail squarely on the head. The Tesla cult reminds me of the Heaven’s Gate cult, except the taxpayer didn’t help fund it as far as I know.

  2. This sales job of self driving cars only persists because the main stream media are complete leftists who believe in fantasies like replacing internal combustion vehicles with electric vehicles, and a society made perfect by digital electronics.

  3. If Boeing can’t design “Mission Critical Systems” on Aircraft “anymore”, what makes anyone believe Tesla can….
    Stupid software freaks don’t even see the simplest Issues/ problems…. It works until it doesn’t & fails..DIE
