Concerned citizens of China are asking questions

Update: A close friend in Singapore, who shared the video with me, just shared this article. You can get Google to translate it for you. She got it from a fellow Singaporean who is currently trapped in Wuhan and not allowed to leave.

  1. Like Venezuela, when your parents, grand parents, great grand parents, thought communism was a good idea…

    YOU GET TO SUFFER.

Like Germany, when they wanted a National Socialist German Workers Party… YOU GET TO SUFFER.

    1. A reasonable discussion can be had about whether men of the age of the man in the video can be said to have played a meaningful role in the establishment of modern fascism with Chinese characteristics.

But what does that matter? I don’t actually care if Chinamen suffer (and clearly neither do you, Kevin). I care about whether I and mine will suffer.

Because precisely nothing will be done to keep Wuhan syndrome out of the West until men like John McCallum and Jean Chrétien are coughing up blood and dying in agony in isolation wards of American hospitals from the plague cooked up by friends and relations of John’s lovely wife—never mind men like Soros and Bloomberg, with access to the best medical care money can buy on this planet, for all the good it would do.

(The man in the video is fortunate. As far as is publicly known Wuhan syndrome has, so far, only killed the elderly and immunocompromised. McCallum and Chrétien have far more to fear from the virus than he does.

Get back to me when the virus starts killing people young enough to be worth anything to a modern army.)

    2. For once you’re correct. The entire recording can be summarized as:

“Why isn’t the government saving us?”

      Because they are the government.

  2. When ANYTHING bad happens in China, it’s ALWAYS covered up. In this case, the government is doing a lot that makes this outbreak very open and visible to the world. It makes me ask: Just what are they REALLY covering up?

    1. They are trying to fit the new modern image. But they are doing it with the all the grace of knuckle dragging hardline communists. They are bending over backwards to appear transparent while going though obscene efforts to censor the information coming out. They want to appear modern and proactive and yet appear heavy handed on one side and absurdly incompetent on the other. It is all about saving face to the chicoms. They don’t realize that one can’t save face when their breath smells like a public toilet.

  3. The doctors and nurses in Wuhan are not helping all the people at the hospitals because they are totally and completely overwhelmed. When a hospital with 500 or 1000 beds is suddenly hit with 5,000 or 10,000 sick people, it will be overwhelmed whether it is in Wuhan, Beijing, LA, NYC, Toronto or Alberta Canada.

The same thing will happen in your hometown if this 2019-nCOV hits your hometown as virulently as it hit Wuhan. The hospitals, clinics and all the doctors and nurses will be just as overwhelmed. What can you do? Take care of yourself and your family. Wash your hands regularly and religiously. Get sleep, take your vitamins. Minimize your time in public. Wear a mask and gloves in public, and clean them when you get home. Clean up everything at home. Countertops, appliances, cell phones, laptops, DOORKNOBS.

Now is the time to go out and buy a couple weeks supply of your favorite canned and dry foods, a couple cases of water, pop, and adult beverages. Soup is good, you can easily prepare and eat it when you feel sick.

If you feel sick, stay home. If you are really sick, call your doctor and let them know before you show up, and for everyone’s sake, wear a mask and gloves, and stay away from people. The Chinese are calling this the Wuhan Pneumonia. Pneumonia is the real killer.

Hope that this is like the SARS Coronavirus was 17 years ago. 800 dead worldwide, ZERO in the US. Remember MERS Coronavirus from a few years ago, 30% fatalities, never got a foothold in the US.

  4. Where did this virus come from in the first place,we hear that it came from some vendor in a market place in some Chinese city, that has never been actually verified. These guys have been playing fast and loose with biological weapons for a long time. Can we be absolutely sure that this was not a test deliberately initiated to gauge its timing and effectiveness should it ever become required? Should not be too hard to figure out what and who the future target may be.

  5. virus may have been provided by Canada just google that……..if true we are phucked

  6. If I may give a summary of the article:
the reporter interviewed a married couple, who owned a wholesale seafood business, in the market shown. The title denotes the market as wholesale seafood. However, the virus is generally suspected to have come from a few sellers of wild caught animals, a list of them is shown in a picture below. There are altogether 42 species, including civets, foxes, peacocks, wild geese. They are killed, dressed, and frozen, and immediately delivered.
Once the market is so identified, the hospitals no longer admitted patients who had connections to the market. However, the couple interviewed were one of the first ones. Even though the market had been closed down from Jan 1st, they were admitted days later because they did not reveal their connection with the market. He was admitted, then released on the 20th. the diagnosis on admission was severe pneumonia of unknown cause, and upon release was viral pneumonia. But his movements were not restricted, aside from wearing a single use mask. Several days after he was admitted, his wife also came down with the symptoms, but was judged to be not severe, and only had to go to the hospital for shots. At first she got the shot right away, but the number of patients have increased so much in the interim that now it took seven hours’ wait.
The man said that his first impression of the illness was from a lady in the next stall, who first showed the symptoms in mid-December: listless followed by high fever. Gradually it spread to most people in the market. According to a study by a Shanghai institute, this coronavirus has a 70% resemblance to SARS, and 40% resemblance to the MERS, but humans are particular susceptible to this virus.
The market was closed down on Jan 1st, but the irony was, on the very same day, the Wuhan police department released a report that reports of the virus spreading is incorrect, and has appropriately dealt with eight people who spread such rumors.
Apparently the elderly are the most susceptible, but the article ended with a report on a 23 year old who had nothing to do with the market, but only went there to get out of the rain, and caught the virus. However, the article seems to imply he has since recovered.

Disclaimer: I had translated as faithfully as I could, without adding my personal opinion. Even the word “ironically” was in the original article. I gave a synopsis of the major points, but don’t feel like doing a word for word translation of the long article.

    1. Addendum:
The original article carries the name of three reporters writing for a weekly.
The subheading said that before Jan 20, when the authorities officially acknowledged a huge increase in case of the coronavirus, the city life of Wuhan did not appear much different than normal. Since the 20th, many more people began wearing masks, but the incidents had actually started about a month ago, but were not noticed by a wider audience.
I think this was much more than what I thought reporters in China could say, in blaming the authorities. And they did use the word “ironically”. I find it, yes ironic, that reporters seem much more willing to deviate from the official socialist/communist meme in the heart of the beast (and Wuhan is as close to the center of China as a big city can get) than in “freedom of speech” America which allowed freedom of speech as long as it agrees with the official socialist/communist meme.

  7. His description of the actions of the government remind me of the Toronto press conferences.
