Ah yes – snails. Have you ever watched a video of snails mating? Ooooh yeah – they really get into it.
I liked the piece on the parrots figuring out something along the lines of money and how it works.
There have been indications that birds, particularly parrots, macaws, and cockatoos, are far cleverer than had been previously thought and that their way of thinking is quite similar to that of humans. This goes back at least as far as work Dr. Irene Pepperberg did with her African grey parrot, the world-famous Alex (whose obituary appeared in the NYT after he died).
Of course, I wasn’t surprised. We used to have a cockatiel and she was quite clever on her own. For example, she figured out how to get out of her cage without any assistance from us. She died in the early 1980s. I still miss her and her antics.
How about the Norwegian Blue? It can easily play dead while pining for the fiords.
ok a cat with bright eyes is in a morons face. who cares?
I do!
Wow, OWG, maybe you need a stuff drink, or some sleep, or maybe you could just try not hating cats, wonderful creations of God that they are.
As if I already didn’t have enough nightmares.
Sheesh.
