Now Is The Time At SDA When We Juxtapose!

April 18, 1943: Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto’s airplane was shot down by US Army Air Forces fighters as part of Operation Vengeance. Yamato’s body was found the next day on Bougainville Island. “It raised morale in the United States and shocked the Japanese, who were officially told about the incident only on May 21, 1943.”

January 3, 2020: Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was killed at Baghdad International Airport by multiple missiles launched from a US MQ-9 Reaper drone after he left his plane and entered a vehicle. Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of US service personnel, and countless other people around the Arab world. In the aftermath of his death, endless Democrats and media pundits have condemned US President Trump for authorizing this drone strike.

  1. One was a racist, who gathered up groups of people he mistrusted, and without evidence, shipped entire families off to camps. The other used to have a reality show.

    1. Obama had a reality show? One of these days you might understand the “kids in cages” photo was from 2014.

  2. It was existential then and it is now.
    Killing enemies
    Who want to kill you
Is the right thing to do.

  3. Hmmm seems I made that comparison yesterday…?
    P-38 lightnings to be exact…

They did then what had to be done, In Identical fashion as to what US Foces did at Bagdad Airport. To be honest I’ve been waiting since 1979 for a response – some response – ANY freaking response by the US against Iran. This..??? long Fkn overdue.

Kudo’s to you Mr President…kudo’s. (And I can tell you that there’s some
55-60,000 Cdn Forces folks cheering that particular action.)

The difference in attitude in the US, Canada and around the progressive Western World is a Stark reminder all is not well amongst 50-60% of the entire Western World. Overrun with brain dead indoctrinated Marxist morons.

Kissing islamic ASS (Shia – Sunni – Salafist), will, in the end, only get you further up the line to watch your severed head roll down yer chest.

    1. Here in Calgary, a local radio station put out a opinion poll should Canada gets its troops out of Iraq….70% said yes….i’m thinking, great, first sound of a shot and our politicians run! (btw, my son was schedule to deploy to Iraq, but his group is now heading to Ukraine)

    2. One of the most memorable airplane models I made as a kid was one of the P-38 Lightening. My Air Force Veteran Dad told me the story of the P-38’s design. And the awesome military hardware production by America during WWII. More of an education than I ever received in school.

  4. and in similar ways, it was American espionage and military know how cracking ‘purple’ (google it)
that TOLD them where yamamato would be and when.
and iran wants a 3 front war? have at it muzzies !!!!
and keep it up with the nuke program too. you can have YOUR very own hiroshima !!!!

it really does appear history repeats itself . . . .

GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN MILITARY AND GOD BLESS THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER THAT PAYS FOR IT ALL.
    HALLELUAH HALLELUAH PRESIDENT TRUMP.

allow me just this once spell his name President Triumph !!!!!

    1. Obummer had 2800 drone strikes through his term….without informing Congress.
2799 to go …… HOLY CORDITE Batman!
Need to order more popcorn (ready to harvest, to Q fans).

      1. Without informing Congress;

        They impeached pres.Trump.
Now that he is no longer their President, he doesn’t have to tell them shit.

Pelosi created an ‘Up Your Ass’ Problem. Ha

      2. 540 of those strikes had collateral damage leading to more than 1,000 innocent deaths. Yet the Liberal congress members didn’t say a word against this policy. Disgusting two-faced liars.

        1. KR: What’s good for goose is good for the gander. But the Demorats will be talking up a storm saying Trump has NO rights as a President of America.

  5. When someone is at war with you with chants for your death as part of their political culture and values, you are de facto at war with them, regardless of what appeasing cowards and various power at all cost to their country types think or feel.

IOW, Soleimani was a legitimate target. Let them target senior US officials and officers; they will be dealt with in kind.

I continue to amaze at the multitude of so-called respectable Americans who take Iran’s die over their own country in their blind and ridiculous opposite Trump bizarro world where taking out terrorists provokes world war but not planeloads of cash.

  6. Dhimicraps and Lieberals are cut from the same rag. If they had their way in1940, Auschwitz would still be operational into the 1980’s.
Watching the (likely funded by a very wealthy hedge fund manager) protests, they are still trying to undermine the rest of us.

  7. From the Files of Age Old Wisdom – like 1500 years ago or so.

From The Jewish Talmud – Sanhedrin 72 A

“When someone is coming to kill you, rise up and kill him first.”

Muslims might enjoy reading The Talmud, assuming of course they are not of the recently vaporized variety.

  8. Generals, commanders and officers have always been targets in war. They’re combatants. Higher ranking people like Soleimani are not usually easy to get at but now they are more vulnerable not protected, miles behind the lines. Say what you will about Soleimani, he was apparently capable. Well worth taking out. Will his replacement be as able or as bold? Especially after seeing what happened to his predecessor? I guess we’ll see.

    1. I doubt his replacement will be so bold. Iran was always fairly secure in the idea there wouldn’t be much in the way of retaliation from America.

Now they are certain there will be.

Pucker factor of top level Iranian military just went up by a considerable amount.

  9. The thing that messes with their heads, is the realuzation that nobody, is safe if the Donald decides you’s mouthed off a mite too much, further, nowhere is really safe. Generals and the people pushing the little markers around the map were always secure from harm. Even though they were legitimate targets. Now they know that the assumed safety is an illusion.

    1. I think that’s about right.

Makes one wonder who the next 52 targets will be.

So, as I understand it, Israeli agents drove a truck up to the Iranian border, got cleared, then drove to Teheran to pick up thousands of pounds of Iranian intelligence documents, then drove back to the border, got cleared, and then just drove away.

      And no-one’s the wiser?

      Highly doubtful, in my opinion.

      And then there’s this:

      https://www.reuters.com/article/us-iraq-security-soleimani-insight/inside-the-plot-by-irans-soleimani-to-attack-u-s-forces-in-iraq-idUSKBN1Z301Z

The Americans knew. And President Trump has already decided.

It’s over. Gone like the wind.

  10. I’d be if not sympathetic, then at least understanding if I thought the jingoism posted here followed from a clear-eyed view of the ongoing conflict in the ME.

But I can’t see much clear-eyed thought being expressed here. To be fair I thought much the same way back in the Bush years of the conflict. However from around the time of the Benghazi incident, when I started following some diligent forensic internet sleuths, I realized the US govt. was lying and suppressing evidence (a lot) on incidents to manipulate public opinion in favour of policy objectives.

The latest revealed example is the suppressed OPCW evidence that the Douma CW attack, allegedly the justification for a cruise missile strike on the Syrian regime, was most likely a false flag, whereby rebels killed civilians to fake a chlorine/sarin helicopter attack.

Sure, Soleimani maybe was planning an attack on Americans sometime somewhere somehow, but I wouldn’t believe it because the chronic liars from the State Department/Pentagon/CIA said so.

    1. You might remember Canada having to take ~25,000 Syrian refugees a few years back, after this animal Soleimani was involved in killing their friends and relatives and driving them from their homes, to help out his buddy al Assad. Standard operating procedure for this guy.

Qasem Soleimani is likely responsible for more deaths than Osama bin Laden. But maybe you don’t believe bin Laden was an evil person either.

      1. How do you know these refugees left Syria because of Soleimani? The Syrian Christians supported Assad in the civil war. Why would they do that if the “moderate rebels” were just striving for an eglatarian free society? Is it not possible that a large portion of the refugees left because they saw no end to the war, and had no desire to live under a militant Wahabist Caliphate (in the instance that Jayish Al Islam/Jabhat Fatah Al Sham/Al Nusra/Hayat Tahrir Al Sham won over the Syrian regime?

We in the west have been presented with a dishonestly crafted narrative on the Middle East, meant for our unquestioning consumption, nice and simple, good vs evil, us vs them. But it’s not that simple and its past time to push back on the lying that is corrupting the moral heart of what we are supposed to stand for.

        1. “How do you know these refugees left Syria because of Soleimani?”

Simples – they didn’t leave Syria because of Soleimani.

They left because of the violence being directed at them.

And Soleimani was in the background, orchestrating that violence. Just like he’s done in countless other places during the last decades, stirring-up countless other Iranian proxy wars and causing countless thousands of deaths.

          – Of mostly innocents; they’re mostly helpless so they’re easier, and the bonus terror effect is a real sweet force-multiplier.

Rest in pieces Soleimani, you blackhearted blood-handed monster; and may anybody who mourns your death, share it.

“When the Cambrian measures were forming, they promised eternal peace.
They vowed if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed they sold us, and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the copybook headings said, “Stick with the devil you know.””

          1. You seem unaware that Soleimani was organizing militias to fight ISIL. Do you have any comment on who was arming ISIL? Or if the “moderate rebels” were so moderate, why did the Christian minority pick the same side to fight on as the Shia militias?

          2. Lesser of two evils, perhaps? Sometimes there are no good choices; I betcha if they could’ve joined-up with the Kurds, they would’ve done so. Or did they maybe, being on the ground with guns ‘n hostiles all around, have a better feel of the situation than we do?

I got a weary chuckle over one Iraqi denunciation about one of the (many) fighting groups entering their country – “We will deal with them as we deal with every group who seeks to invade Iraq!” How? – by running away and leaving your tanks’ engines running?

And remember why the Iraqi army’s abject surrender en masse to ISIS came-about; we forced democracy on Iraq, and Shi’ites being in a majority, they took-over the government – and the Sunnis who made-up most of the army, finding through countless examples that the government now considered them worthless at best, scum at worst, decided ISIS was the better deal. Or shall I say, the “less-likely-to-kill-them” deal?

    2. Understand, Klapper, and largely agree with you. That said, I’ll side with my tribe against theirs, jingoism and all.
The Iranians had it coming since 1978. Invading the U.S. Embassy and taking the staff hostages was an Act of War on their part.

    3. Klapper, and you are as lying and stupid as they come. Now try to understand this is not a NYT blog, you know the paper who’s pundit got a pulitzer prize for glorifying stalin. Now FO thank you

      1. For jollies, HLF, which parts do you imagine are lies? Just so you know, I’ve been a regular commenter on this blog since 2006.

    4. Klapper, the constant turmoil in the middle east has been ongoing since mohammed raised his ugly head. It will continue long after we are gone and you can search for blame all you want. The cure is difficult as it will require the destruction of all Islamic countries and islam itself. You should not allow your enemy to live in your country and especially not in your government.

      1. The turmoil in the Middle East has been going-on since long before that; Arabs and Persians have been gleefully murdering each other since long before Islam came-along to make it all religious. I liked one quote I read – “A billion years from now when the sun is a red ember and the earth is hurtling into it, and there’s nothing left alive here but microbes, the microbes in the Middle East will still be bitter enemies.”

  11. Not a fan of ricky gervais but he lit up the hollywood idiots pretty well tonite , apologize for the off topic

    1. Mark in Calgary posted a link to the Golden Globes and Ricky Gervais roasting of the woke Hollywood crowd under today’s Reader Tips (at 10:19 Sask time I think it was). Here is another link:
Ricky Gervais eviscerates ‘woke’ Hollywood hypocrites in scorching opening monologue at the Golden Globes, saying Jeffrey Epstein
didn’t kill himself, and telling stars: ‘If ISIS started a streaming service, you’d call your agent’

      https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7855233/Ricky-Gervais-eviscerates-woke-Hollywood-opening-speech-Golden-Globes.html

It’s almost as if Mark Steyn hosted the Golden Globes.

  13. Trump did that awful thing just to take attention away from our impeachment of him. Democrats – it’s all about them, always.

  14. Received via e-mail at the White House:

General Qassem Soleimani “Trump, you filthy Infidel, are you going to send us pallets of cash like Obama did?”.

Trump: “Sure, are you still at the Baghdad Airport?”

    1. Looking at the pics of the funeral in Iran: what are the six boxes filled with if most of them, the odd ring-bearing extremity excepted, were aerosolised?

  15. Politics And Bullshit aside, I could give a rats (_i_) about the Middle East or ANY one living there. But I sure as hell am not interested in seeing our Countries subsumed by 7th Century lowlife….those so called refugees, migrants and Trudeaus ISIS bum buddies.

THAT is a RECIPE for disaster…
We simply do not need them whatsoever. We have WATER, We have Abundant Energy, we have Abundant Wood and we have abundant will and desire to make our own homeland secure in all ways without Drowning it in Islamic FILTH that have every intentioin of wiping us out within the next 50-75 years….just ask them, they’ll tell ya straight up.

    1. Hans, I’m also a subscriber to his channel. Very good coverage in the weeks leading up to the British election.

    1. Who gives a rats (_i_) ? I mean, it’s almost old news now; you’d think if he was going to comment on it, he would’ve already. And his lapdog Unifor Press would certainly have passed it on – gee, d’you get the impression that, now he has to answer to the DIP and the Bloc and he can’t just do whatever he wants anymore, he’s losing interest in being Prime Minister?

Like daddy did whenever he was in Minority?

      1. my strong suspicion, esp in light of the election disaster, the TURDoo 2.0
has been unequivocally told to keep his yap SHUT.

  17. An enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend, but a friend of my enemy is definitely my enemy. The Democrats and presstitudes have outed themselves by their sympathy for Soleimani and outrage at his execution. They are enemies of the United States.

  18. It seems almost unfair to Admiral Yamamato to compare him with the likes of Soleimani.

Yamamato was an excellent and very professional naval officer who was no fan of the hardliners who swept Japan into war with the US. He was shot down because he was a very senior enemy commander, a perfectly rational targeting decision in wartime.

And he was no fanatic either.

  19. We need to be very concerned about the sympathizers of Soleimani in the streets of Toronto. If our government is against terrorism all those calling him a good man should be questioned,we know that will not happen. It was also enlightening but not surprising to hear one woman refer to Iran as “her country”.

  20. You know what the biggest dynamic change that has taken place?
It’s that should Iran retaliate, whether they manage to even injure someone or some US asset, the fact is that when Trump reacts he won’t be going after some low level operative in a cave.
Right now I would be willing to bet that there are 50 or so highly placed Iranian military and government officials that are not sleeping well.
