58 Replies to “The Stupid Party”

    1. Conservatives don’t have anyone who can present the case courageously. They tend to all go liberal-LITE …. and think that may do it.

Just look at Ford and Trump or is that Ferrari …. and take a lesson. Stand up proudly for conservatism because it is the better of the two or more offerings in Canada … Canada … a country usually governed by idiots. Why change now eh?

Conservatives … many Canadians are starving for a common sense regime to take over and stop the climate nonsense and the gender horse shit and if possible … kick Quebec the fuck out of Canada so the rest of us can get on with it.

    2. At this rate the best likely candidate to lead the CPC and likely drive the liberal left crazy would be Wayne Gretzky.
This is in no way an endorsement or suggestion that he could or would run, but he would have nothing to lose.

  1. Ralph Klein showed them how to win.
Rob Ford showed them how to win.
Donald Trump showed them how to win.

Maybe The Stupid Party’s definition of winning isn’t what we think it is.

    1. Ralph had been a Liberal and a Cabinet Minister (Min. of Environment).

Rob Ford could win T.O. — something no other Con. could do. Further, like Canada, Ontario’s Economy was tanking.

      Trump is Trump.

Remple won’t win because she believes she was elected on her merits. She was the beneficiary of the Stupid party bowing down to diversity. Not saying she isn’t a capable MP just she hasn’t made it on her own in the trenches but thinks she has.

      1. DIsagree, but not because you’re wrong (you’re not)

Rempel is in Calgary. A floormop with a CPC logo would get elected there…..

By the way, Rempel was besties with Kantsmellya, at least before he was divorced. Rempel and his ex are true besties, from Kantsmellya himself. No doubt his cynicism has rubbed off.

Very disappointed with her performance in the past year plus. She looked like an up and comer, but her “game” has looked contrived and unoriginal for quite some time.

      2. Ralph was no Liberal and he was not Conservative.
He got elected as a conservative because that’s what you do in Alberta.
Ralph was his own man, he knew what he wanted to do for his fellow Albertans.
He was an actual journalist in his previous life and gathered knowledge of what people wanted from the street and St. Louis watering hole. He also hammered on politicians every day in his tv reporting.

And he stuck to it and won and won and won.
He stuck to it regardless of bad press, fierce opposition from the east of Canada and general disapproval from the rest of the country.

        1. My mistake, Lev. My memory told me that as Mayor of Calgary Ralph was a Liberal before he was a Progressive Conservative. That he had run as a Liberal in the provincial election and switched to the PCs to take a Cabinet post. Wikipedia tells me I’m wrong. I apologize unreservedly and disavow my former self.

However, now that I have apologized I will just put on a little black face polish and run as a Liberal.

        2. And WE LOVED HIM….!! Ralp was the best. Drove him home one night in my Cab to his place in Lakeview..along with his partner, Rod Love..a most interesting ride to be sure.
Both with more than a few drinks in em..

Like DJT, neither Leader being “no bullshit” kinda guys, straight up and worked for the people. As for Michelle…I have to agree, she’s been tainted by the ole “diversity is strength” bs brush , among other Liberal talking points.

I’m actually surprised that Jason hasnt thrown his hat into the CPC ring. I’d Support that BIG TIME (just to get him out of Alberta), and simultaneously support Brett Wilson for (temp), leader of the UCP and eventually WEXIT.

Staying is not an option folks…NO Political Party in this country (PPC notwithstanding), speaks for me and hasnt for at least 30 years..

        3. Ralph is the only incumbent that I have ever voted for in a lifetime of voting. I used to enjoy his Saturday phone-in radio show and he is the only politician I ever heard talk openly about “Dome Disease”, how extended time in government creates an unreal perception of reality for most politicians.

My very first day in Calgary, I was introduced to him in that very same St. Louis Hotel basement. A real shame he eventually lost control of his drinking. What a truly addictive and destructive drug.

      3. Rempel

        Dunning-Kruger Effect:
In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people mistakenly assess their cognitive ability as greater than it is. It is related to the cognitive bias of illusory superiority and comes from the inability of people to recognize their lack of ability.

        1. The Dunning Kruger Effect is the best description of the average liberal type that I have ever read … well … other than something written by O’Rourke and I will quote here ..

“At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child — miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats.

        2. Rob – I was a volunteer on her campaign team, and spoke to her and Leona Alleslev at one of the weekly meetings during the campaign. They know that the PPC supporters were likely to go separatist next election, and that many of us westerners are getting sick and tired of being chained and used as golden geese. I was plain spoken in noting that I would not monetarily support the Conservative Party as long as Sheer was the leader and The Rebel was excluded. They understood, but wouldn’t speak to it (I think I remember “I know Ezra’s a good guy because I know him” and “we have to consider how it looks to the undecided” and frequent flash-backs to the Charlottesville coverage, but nothing on how they would try to change anything). The Party first, individuals second.

Michelle’s escape hatch in the long run (if she needs it because socialism eventually ruins everywhere that it is practiced) is that her husband is an American southern-Baptist. My escape hatch is my professional designation.

    2. Yep…right on the money Kevin. As soon as they get their mouth on the taxpayer’s teat they just start sucking harder. I’m surprised they can even spit any patronizing lies out of their mouths they’re clamped down so hard.

Should be further down in the comments…

  2. Looks like the Conservative rooks are hell bent on losing the next election, possibly elections.
Rempel repeating herself without any valid argument is pointing that way.
Getting the same sense here as the giant of “Progressive Conservatives” said to the population that they are just not up to it to understand the high minded. After that she immediately lost an election and went away never to be heard of for a long time.

Rempel was good in parliament when she got elected first time. It would seem after she got married she mellowed and now has been made to shut up and keep the pace to nowhere.
    Too bad.

On her meme that “It’s foolish to think that someone with little political experience can run a winning national campaign” you can say that she obviously has a high opinion of her colleagues that just lost an election that was there for them to win.
    Some smart people those Conservatives.

The guy that was supposed to lead just quit, apparently or purportedly had the experience.
    Really?

The politicians need to be hit over the head and realize that they are probably the least to know a good candidate.

Every one of you, ladies and gentlemen of SDA, know from simple observation who is the candidate that can win. This is completely lost on the politicians, your basic mutual admiration society.

Some of the strategerists (sic), for they are not strategists, that comment here profess to know and tell everyone else that they know and you don’t had a hand in it.
    They bloody lost.

This is something akin to the politicians telling the plebeians that they have to get the big bucks to attract the best people.
One can say, just look the current crop of aristocrats, the hole they are digging, deeper and deeper and deeper. There are very few if any to tell them to stop digging.
One get the sense that if those that lost the last election, won, the digging would not stop.

Yeah, “The Stupid Party”, no truer words were written.

The thing about Trump is that he set himself a goal and goes for it. There is all kinds of collateral damage where his helpers are not up to push forward with the goal at hand.
Apparently he has not time for bullshit, though he engages in it himself more often than not, though does not lose sight of his goal.

There was a guy like that over 2000 years ago, he conquered South Europe, West Asia and North Africa, commonly described “known world” at the time. He won because he knew what he wanted, if any of his generals did not want to do it, they were out. Once the soldiers got tired of it, he understood and stopped.

    1. Regarding the ‘digging’.

There is Liberal and there is liberal LITE … both much the same but the real Liberals present as who they are.
The Liberal-LITE (AKA Conservative Party of Canada), present as conservatives, but they are not

We would need someone perhaps like Kevin O’Leary but then he would have to learn to speak that obsolete gender-plagued language that the wogs of Quebec insist on hanging on to. And I am not sure Kevin is conservative enough either.
Canada doesn’t really seem to have any conservatives but then the did get the popular vote last time … what’s up with that?

    2. OK. I’ll bite. Who?
“Every one of you, ladies and gentlemen of SDA, know from simple observation who is the candidate that can win. This is completely lost on the politicians, your basic mutual admiration society.”

  3. I’m an MR fan but I have been noticing establishment / red-tinge rising in her Twitter.

I suspect that the opportunistic CPC members are hedging until the 2020, (or is it 2021?) leadership race. They’ve got to be wondering how far left they will have to lean?

    Red Tories Rising?
(Hey! that’s not a bad name for a rock band)

  4. Insider hacks, red tories and insular politicians none of them Conservative.

Last week I told Len Webber what I thought of him and he had the gall to report that to my employer.

  5. It appears to me you will be allowed to choose Rona Ambrose .. They are under the mistaken impression she cannot be defined as phobic . Making your desicions based on fear of the press worked so well in the Duffy affair they think it will be a good idea again.. Besides the press has determined the only way they can win is with a socially progressive leader. Two things come to mind – what could possibly be wrong with this strategy and who cares. Happy frigin new year and how do we achieve a new country.

    1. And apparently the media is also choosing Jean Charest and Peter McKay for conservatives as well.

Old Tired Retreads. Yeah, sure, great choices compared to the younger, hipster, occupying the PMO right now.

Yes, its looking more and more like Red Tory Town coming up, the apparent solution is to listen to the mediots and turn LEFT

  6. It was foolish to think that someone with a lot of political experience can run a winning national campaign.
    Fixed that for you, Michelle.

  7. Seems like anyone who has ever been involved with government, needs to be excluded from consideration.

There is some kind of brain virus that appears to take root as soon as someone wins an election, or joins SGEU…

  8. I guess the bubble is completely impervious to information unless it gets injected by the CBC et al.

It’s ok Michelle…I wasn’t planning on supporting the CPC anyway. You guys chased me away when you got behind Scheer and sealed the deal by voting for the Paris accord. Really…choosing the UN over your fellow Albertans? I haven’t seen a single conservative action from the cpc since that would make me change my mind.

    1. Right on Johnboy. Sleepy Sheer and his milk mustache finished me off. Now its time for Albertans to say goodbye to the federal rip off. Unfortunately all our solicitations have jello balls!

    2. JohnBoy…Perfect Comment.

Succinct and to the flippin point.
      Could not agree more.
Choosing not only the IPCC, & the UN, add, Islam, Monopolies that bone us up the (_i_) daily, and Trashing Free Speech to that list.

The CPC had more Ammo to obliterate the libs than the entire D-Day landing force… They kissed PM Dickspanks ASS and fkn BLEW IT.! CPC deserves DERISION and labels of TRAITORS in my opinion. They sure as shit dont speak for me.

      #WEXIT – thats who I support.

    3. Deserve emphasizing
you got behind Scheer and sealed the deal by voting for the Paris accord. Really…choosing the UN over your fellow Albertans

  9. Right on Johnboy. Sleepy Sheer and his milk mustache finished me off. Now its time for Albertans to say goodbye to the federal rip off. Unfortunately all our solicitations have jello balls!

  10. The Communist party of Canada will never learn.
But I finally have, slow learner, for years I thought that first word was Conservative, but then we elected them to a majority Government.
Liberal Lite at their very best.
I am opposed to any ‘career’ politician holding office for more than 5 years.
I would prefer we made serving as political representative of an area more like civic duty.
As with jury duty, but no exceptions, you serve your 3 years and then another is appointed, with no federal civil servant allowed to work more than 5 years for government, preferably those 5 years being age 60 to 65.
Dear Leader must be an experienced politician in her eyes…Reform sure did not last long,2 terms and most all the genuine reformers were gone.
But our professional Parasites sure dug in good.
We need a new country, where treasonous parasites can still be hanged.

    1. Anyone holding office more than five years becomes a parasite . We have a lot of examples where their main purpose is loading their pensions.

  11. Michelle should hook up with Justin’s party, they would make a pretty couple.

And then she wouldn’t have to worry her pretty little head about that leadership thingy.

In fact, she could take at least half of her party with her since there’s no point to them either.

Canada’s cultural, social, political, and economic capital is being squandered by our political, cultural, social, and economic leaders. Our standard of living is going down, but that won’t worry voters, StatsCan will still blow sunshine.

  12. Not 100% on topic….but this is getting scary. We have ZERO Voice out here in the West….NONE Whatsoever – I include Kenney.

The thing that I’m finding really disturbing is Trudeau’s migration BS and his desire to literally swamp our small Western Communities (likely those that voted CPC) with Islamic FILTH. This is Subversion, Vote Rigging and a form of Social Genocide on a grand scale folks…not only is this an attack against anyone with a smidgeon of Conservatism within, its an in yer face attack against all Euro Centric Canadians.

TREASON (continuously), being committed by ones own govt.

    1. Good to remind people of what is happening in smaller communities. They are being overwhelmed with migrants despite the lack of jobs. Of course the other advsntage is that media will pay no attention to the social impact. The big lie is that this will stimulate economic growth. I had forgotten it myself until I came across an article the other day. This will truly destroy traditional Canada. I guess that’s the point.

  13. In the last two elections, the very experienced Liberal machine rolled into action behind the Fop Figurehead.

They are the Natural Ruling Party and do, occasionally, allow the Washington Generals to score, but the Canadian Deep State maintains control.

  14. Actually, they are correct unless the candidate in question is willing and able to fully fund his own campaign.
Or do you REALLY think that President Trump could have won if he was not capable of doing so??? I would remind you that the Republicans two previous candidates were Mittens and Songbird…

  15. It’s not stupid, it’s protecting her own interests.
It’s important to remember that the interests of MPs are not necessarily aligned with the interests of their voters. One of the reasons caucus lined up behind Scheer over a guy like Bernier or the Dragon’s Den guy is that the former is a safe bet. Even if he doesn’t win, it’s unlikely he’ll lose badly enough that the caucus members are in any jeopardy of losing their seats. That’s what they care about the most. While a lot of CPC voters want massive disruption to the current Canadian political landscape, the established Torys like Rempel want no such thing because they know that such disruption threatens not only their power but their own economic interests. People like Michelle Rempel do just fine with the way things are.
People point to Trump. Look at how many Republican congressmen have left since he was elected. It’s nearing 50%. The Tory MPs don’t want that to happen to them

    1. Slaw, a resounding “YES” to your post.

The exclusive Club Ottawa is interested only in maintaining the status quo.

The CPC locally is run by the Old Fuddy-Duddies club, no one who is not a millionaire welcome. They fervently believed in Scheer, now they will fervently believe in Ambrose or McKay or Charest and stand around like stunned sheep when they lose another election.

    2. bingo slaw, ginormous BINGO.
numero UNO rule in Cdn politics, far ahead of ALL other considerations:
get re-elected. everything else (obviously) is SECONDARY.
and esp in CDN politics *watch out* for the fickle voters who will elected the TURDoo based on ‘cute hair’
whilst wilfully ignoring such issues as when the FCUK will alberta be allowed access
      to eastern cdn markets??? hmmmm????

it will take the better part of the rest of this century to turn it around,
by which time it can actually get FAR WORSE.

    3. Splendid post slaw.
The shorthand is “public choice economics” which states that gubmint people, both the elected and the bureaucracy, act solely out of self interest. Any good that happens to the electorate is a happy unintended consequence.

Again, my view has for decades been: term limits: ONE.

  16. a very fundamental, basic, and intractable prob in Cdn politics is . . .
    the gene pool.
which gives us the likes of mulruin, ‘idz nod fair’ dion, andy panda scheer, TURDoo 2.0
    need I continue?

  17. I believe it should now be clear to everyone, that you are not dealing in the scientific realm here; the CPoC is clearly a religious organization.

None of their policies/theories are falsifiable.

“Experience is necessary to run a winning campaign.” This theory persists, despite the elections of Trump, Bolsonaro, all the outsider populist upsets around the world. If the theory cannot be falsified, it is not a theory; it is a “BELIEF”. It is an article of faith.

Look at the resources they spent on punishing the apostasy of Bernier. All the resources diverted to that cause, while they were losing to Trudeau. All the lines about Trudeau that were not delivered by anyone in the party. All the opportunities to draw attention to the failings and shortcomings of Trudeau that were not taken. How many times did you hear “defeating Trudeau is the most important thing”? Objective reality has clearly demonstrated that they were lying. Considering the evidence, considering the results, the public stoning of the apostate was actually the most important thing, and nothing else mattered.

They were lying to you then. They have not stopped. They will not stop. Every letter, of every line, of every fund raising letter you get is a lie, and has been since the first red tory was let in the front door.

Remember the campaigns of Kim Campbell, and Scheer vs Bernier every time someone tells you “you don’t understand how politics works in Canada”.

  18. In this kleptocracy control of the Political parties, the Courts and the Media have been the proven path to prolonged power.
Power to loot the deluded citizens of their daily bread and now their birth right.
The Canadian Apartheid System has worked beautifully to impoverish and destroy the Indians.
And now those tools are being used on us dummies.
First we make you dependent on the State, then we use the State to crush you,as we replace you.
Can Ahh Duh has no future for the majority of the takers are doing very well, looting the shrinking productive population.
Parasites have never held the “health of their hosts” as their “highest priority”.

The current state of this area(Country?) is that of the Ticks demanding the cattle eat more salt,so that their blood might taste better. To the Ticks.
Nothing changes, each branch of the Uni-Party shouts:
“We are from the government,we are here to help you”..
    Into servitude,poverty and confusion.
But they deny the last as that would cause their starvation.
And we need the state run institutions of Media and education to maintain the lie, naturally any divergence must be condemned, all who question the debt madness..Obviously Alt-Right Nazis..Just ask CBC.

  19. Anyone in Alberta/Saskatchewan/Manitoba who cares about who the next leader of the CPC is; is either a masochist, politically ignorant, or both.
Alberta needs to leave the Dominion of Canada for it’s own survival. WEXIT

    1. It’s time to stop fighting past battles. It’s time to reassess where we are and where we want to go. Canada and any Canadian political party no longer deserves our time or consideration. Let us not point fingers of blame as to the past. Let’s look to the future.

How do we motivate our Western Premiers and their governments to ACT?
How do we Galvanize our fellow Westerners to Unity and worthy Purpose?

      1. Full agreement Oz,one technique to corner the Confederation /Status quo would be to demand they state the case for Canada.
I have been tripping around the net, looking for this “Case for Canada”, as I would be interested in reading it.
I am far too disgusted with my Progressive Comrades of the East to create it myself.
I can clearly see the financial benefit, the political power and the social advantages of an Independent Alberta.
What I cannot see is what gains Alberta might make by sticking with Canada.
Alberta is blessed,we can feed ourselves and we have resources that will be in high demand for decades to come,we will prosper if we can remove ourselves from the control exerted by emotional basket cases from outside our borders.
Of course having the protection of our militant cousins to the south is another historic blessing.
Which Albertans have the grace to acknowledge.

        1. “What I cannot see is what gains Alberta might make by sticking with Canada.”

I have asked my neighbours and acquaintances what if anything Canada has ever done for Alberta and NONE of them can answer in the affirmative. Being a part of Canada has always been a net drain on Alberta’s economy and it’s culture.

Take the GST for an example. Alberta has never had a sales tax. What did the rest of Canada say about that? They said Alberta was JUVENILE in Our insistence in having no Sales Tax. -Juvenile!- How about Mature? How about AWARE that New Taxes have No Cap? How about Alberta decides what Alberta’s culture is and the rest of Canada should respect Alberta culture in the way Canada respects inferior non-Canadian foreign cultures. How about giving Alberta it’s rightful powers and jurisdictions as Depicted in the 1867 Confederation Act?
You want Canada, Canada? Then Respect the 1867 Confederation Act. That was the Deal. That was the Contract.
It’s TOO LATE NOW, Canada. You broke it.

But NO. Alberta is Canada’s Whipping Boy. Nothing about Alberta is respected.
To get Respect, Alberta NEEDS to be a FOREIGN COUNTRY not a VASSAL Province of Inferior Standing in Canada!
