    1. Clearly we need someone from the superior race: Orangemen Superhumen (c) ! Which futuristic novel predicted a hybrid of the Orangemen would rule the world? Been there Dune that?

      1) Trump (2016)
      2) Bojo (2019)
      3) Canuck Orangeman (2020)

      1. Top ginger bread men:

        Mark Steyn?
        Keean Bexte?
        The Menzoid?
        Doug Ford?
        Harper and some Orange Koolaid?

    2. I hope the party is lucky enough to chose a leader that does not do what liberals/media tell them to do, instead of what voters looking for an actual conservative on the ballot would want.
For example it’s a bad idea to go to known second rate Chretien liberal operatives for the purpose of undermining a past leadership rival.

    1. Sure, if you want to make the Conservative Party smaller than the NDP.
Man couldn’t even win his own riding.
William Buckley famously said that you nominate the conservative that can WIN.
The Tories have one aim and one aim only, defeating Trudeau in the next election.

      1. Negative on that aim. If they win with a Liberal backup plan leader or another Laurentian globalist they are done as a party and Canada is done as a nation. The latter may be true already. I said long ago that when the final history of Canada is written, the Trudeau name would figure prominently, under cause of death.

        1. No “ifs”. Canada was done as a nation after the last election. It does not really matter who replaces Scheer.

      2. Spoken like a true Red Tory. What difference does it make if the Conservatives do win the next election if the party is still stuffed full of Globalist puppets like Sheer? We need a strong Conservative nationalist leader to inspire Canada for Canadians. You know, like in:
        The USA
        Hungary
        Brazil
        Poland
        Italy
        India
        Get the picture?
What you’re recommending is more of the same milktoast “right wing” like the GOP which Trump is currently cleaning up.
        If not Max, who?

        1. Anybody but Bernier would be a good start.
          Rona Ambrose.
          Peter MacKay.
          James Moore.
          Michelle Rempel.
          John Baird.
          James Moore.
          Brad Wall.
          Jason Kenney.

Someone who will appeal to the nation as a whole and defeat the Liberals.

And if you think that it doesn’t matter who is PM if it isn’t Bernier or some other unelectable leader you’re hoping for, you’ll find out it will make a big damn difference if the Liberals win a majority in the next election.

Honestly, how anyone with something resembling an IQ can believe for one moment that Bernier can become PM is beyond me. Whatever Scheer’s faults, keeping Bernier from becoming Conservative leader was a service to the party and the country. If he had been in, Trudeau would have a big majority right now. At least Scheer leaves the Conservative Party with a bigger seat count then when he arrived, although I am under the firm conviction he wasn’t ready or mature enough to be leader.

Bernier is political poison in an overwhelming section of the country.

And anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.

          1. “Anybody but Bernier would be a good start. …”

Wrong. Bernier is not the only one who wouldn’t be a good start. He might have been a good choice if they had chosen him instead of Scheer in the first place, we’ll never know. And he more likely could have been the man for now if he had stayed on, been more loyal to the leader than Scheer had been fair to him in the leadership election, and had won his seat. All that would have left him well placed to contend to succeed Scheer now. But founding another party, which didn’t do well, then getting falsely painted by the Media Party as a racist, and losing his seat, is too much baggage now.

McKay has too many people convinced he is too liberal, too identified with the Laurentian elite.

          2. If Bernier had stayed on in the Conservative party, they probably would have won a (short lived) minority. Scheer would have stayed leader. The next election would have seen the left voting strategically to defeat them and the Liberals would win a minority, at which time Scheer would resign. Bernier then would likely have become Conservative leader. He never will now.

          3. Bernie was “unelectable” because the Lieberals instructed the corrupt media to smear him by painting him as a “white supremacist”.

Apart from maybe Rona Ambrose, none of those listed are conservatives in any sense of the word.

The Conservative platform is essentially identical to the Liberal platform which the Liberals stole from the NDP to begin with.

The West needs their own version of the Bloc Quebecois. No more Laurentian Elite parties for the West. Screw the CPC.

        2. How about this: stop using the word “Globalist” if you want to be taken seriously?
          1. Anybody but Max.
          2. Not from Quebec.
          3. Speaks English.
          4. Does not even try to win Quebec.
          5. Does not flush after using toilets in Quebec (when in Rome).

          1. Well, when Sheer whipped the party vote to pass the Paris Accord, THAT makes him a globalist. You may think answering to the Communist UN in a one world government tyranny is worth it, to “get rid of Trudeau”. I disagree. When you can ignore the full on push for one world globalist government , I would contend that makes you very unserious, and dangerous. The work to combat this globalist cabal is being fought in Europe and the US. Canada is a side show. The PPC party did quite well for their first election. Marginalize if you wish, but a Conservative Party full of Red Tories is simply another Liberal Party.

          2. “Globalist” is a meaningless word that you Maxipads use with the same precision that your Librano masters use the word “racist”. You use it to claim moral high ground and declare the argument won on purity grounds. F*** your purity.

You do not have a say who will be the next CPC leader. None of you Vichy traitors are welcomed back. We do not want you among us. Stay out of it.

          3. “None of you Vichy traitors are welcomed back. We do not want you among us. Stay out of it.”

I don’t think that’s for you to decide kiddo. Take your sippy cup and sit down.

          4. By all means try to advance Maxipad, see how much traction you’ll get within rank and file. Stick a fork in him, five minutes of fame are over.

        3. the dilemma is gauging what Canaduhians think they need.
more of the TURDoo 2.0 seems to be their favorite dish.
          what to do, what to do . . . . . .

        4. doowleb, there is a reason cuckservatives are called the party of the stupid, the never Maxers are a prime example of that. I am not a lover if FC’s, but I do not judge any person only on heritage, Max is a leader AND a man, scheep is neither. Tho I would support one of the several women who appear to be competent leaders, and who are conservative

        5. Poland and Hungary and even India are led by fascists. The government of Italy is a farce that’s falling apart. Trump is the last republican president the US will ever have.

    2. Yeah how about someone who did not sabotage CPC and did not help Aladdin get reelected instead?

      1. COLON ewe a$$hole, that was scheep hiring can’tsella, you and your libtard buddy the Oooz will be hard pressed you were/ are wrong as hell on this

        1. Cry me a river. You picked rules of engagement. Dairy Queen used Kinsella, just like Aladdin used Maxipad. I got no problem with using an enemy operative to naturalize a traitor saboteur.

          1. actually mister stupid, scheep was a turd plant, the dairy cartel was/ is a liberal tool, you GD fool

          2. Yawn. Dairy Queen being a bitch of the milk cartel does not make him a Librano plant. Just a fool and a failure. Good riddance to him. Maxipad on the other hand did exactly everything Aladdin wanted him to do. Name one thing Aladdin wanted him to do differently. You got nothing. Time to fold.

      2. Colonialista, you now owe Ms Kate $10.

Recall that I wagered Scheer would be gone before Christmas and you bet $10 payable to SDA that he would not be.

        1. Way ahead of you. Already donated. Kate, in case you’re reading this, could you kindly confirm a donation of 20.01 by Paypal. I mention Scheer in the message.

      3. You’re worse than a broken record on crack. Your bot-like need to slam Bernier is beyond tedious. That is literally all you ever can do. Do you still get paid even though the election is long over? It’s too bad this commenting system has no way of blocking extraordinarily annoying and useless posters.

        1. Then stop bringing Maxipad to every irrelevant conversation dipshit. He’s done, accept facts. Scratch that, leave in denial, you know what it is a first step to, right? The sooner you off yourselves the better.

    3. Maxime Bernier
      @MaximeBernier

Being asked if I will run again for CPC leadership. Zero chance.

The party is morally and intellectually corrupt. Scheer was a weak leader who pushed it to the centre. The next leader will do the same.

I started a principled conservative alternative. I’m sticking to it.

Ultimate proof that our political establishment has no clue:

Both Liberals AND Conservatives believe it’s important for Canada’s foreign policy that we engage in the “cynical courting” and “silly charade” to get a UN Security Council seat.

      https://www.theglobeandmail.com/amp/opinion/article-canadas-craven-gambit-for-negligible-power-on-a-dysfunctional-un/?__twitter_impression=true

      1. “Being asked if I will run again for CPC leadership. ”

By whom? Your Librano puppet masters?

        “Zero chance.”

This is not about you. Your five minutes of fame are over. FOAD Vichy traitor.

          1. See, this is what happens when you try too hard to be funny and eloquent. Read your comment again (preferably not under influence of a controlled substance) and try to figure out why you failed.

    4. I was his biggest backer. WAS. Bernier failed as hard as Scheer. Who would’ve thought they’d be two sides of same lousy coin.

It’s gotta be Rona. Ideally an atheist.

  1. These morons, the politicians, just can’t resist raiding the cookie jar.
I doubt he will be missed but…who is next?

    1. Stealing is a liberal thing. Proves that Scheer was never anything but a liberal. I bet he was elated when Trudeau won. It sure looked like he deliberately blew the campaign.

    2. Let’s hold off on the public lynching, even tho I’m glad the vote whipping Globalist is gone.
The statement from the Party director seems quite reasonable on the school expenses.

In a statement, Conservative Party executive director Dustin van Vugt said the party offered to reimburse some of the costs associated with relocating Mr. Scheer’s family to Ottawa, calling it “normal practice for political parties.”
“Shortly after Mr. Scheer was elected leader, we had a meeting where I made a standard offer to cover costs associated with moving his family from Regina to Ottawa. This includes a differential in schooling costs between Regina and Ottawa. All proper procedures were followed and signed off on by the appropriate people,” Mr. van Vugt said.

  2. All the talk in the media is that the Conservative Party has to bow down to the alphabet people(bad choice of words).

    1. One look at the election map and results is all you need to see. Moving further right is perfect plan for those who enjoy bronze medals. Do you want to win or do you want ideological purity? Can’t have both.

  3. The push to shove Scheer out had to do with the party paying for his kids private schooling, which with five kids comes to a lot. More info will come out on this, but it is another outrage which has hurt Scheer’s credibility. Moving forward, the discussion should be on who will replace him.

  4. F**k it! Time to get a female leader. An individualist, a fiscal conservative who owns guns and shoots straight. And if she’s hot to boot, f**king A.

    1. Agreed, it will take a real woman to beat a fake feminist.

Although, now that I think on it, if we can get a fake woman, with male goods, to run for leader…

      1. It seems as though our current crop of leaders need a gimmick to win: 1st (half) black POTUS, offspring of former PM, Famous Developer, TV personality … so, yeah, 1st. Vag. PM fits the bill. Bonus points if she is half “ethnic”.

        1. And a little person for the big intersectional bingo win!

Bonus square, never (publicly) wore blackface.

          1. Hahahaha ha ha … indeed! Only this isn’t funny, is it? Too many mental midgets voting for our leaders. 😉

  5. About time.

A couple of weeks ago I made a public bet on SDA that the dingleberry will keep dingling until April. The loser was to donate $20 to SDA. Done. Love being wrong.

  6. As a leader, he was a castrated husk with a silly grin like a fox eating shit out of a gum boot. Filching party money makes him as dumb as his looks. They should elect their most alpha female as his replacement, preferably someone from the west who is not delusional about the benefits of sucking up to the UNIFOR / Liberal, NDP, Green bought-off media. Oh, and they should also fire all of their zit-faced, sophomoric, poly-sci grad “advisers”.

    1. Chittick Ffffing A Best rant of the night. Clean all the nut lickers out. Skid them all.
Club them like a Newfy clubs a seal.

  7. Given the reality of a Canada divided among many lines, perhaps the Conservative Party needs to change their leadership structure. West vs East, Large cities vs everyone else, English Canada vs French Canada, Red Tories vs Reform Conservatives, etc.

Is it possible to have co-leaders? I could see someone like Rona Ambrose and John Baird or Pierre Pollivere and Michelle Rempel or Brad Wall and anyone who lives in central Canada and speaks French.

Maybe a divided Canada needs divided leadership roles.

    1. I suggest co-leaders for Canada. One for the East and BC Lower mainland, and one for the West. The country is no longer United and it is time to stop pretending the Federation works.

        1. That is the biggest flaw in the idea but I don’t think it has to be a fatal flaw.

Think how different things might have been if one CPC co-leader was a fluent French speaker with values that better reflected Quebec and Toronto.

Think about the problems there will be with a Red Tory from Quebec or Toronto trying to connect with western Conservatives.

Maybe a politician’s ego needs to get out of its arse for a change.

  8. 1 – I wanted Kelly to win last around. How about an ex premier of sask this Time?

2 – the school fees thing is an excuse to resign, not an ethics issue

3 – he had to quit because he lost and would again- and not because he is too socially conservative, but because he comes across on TV as a slimy used car salesman.

  9. Scheer was a reliable perma-smile but TOTALLY UNACCOMPLISHED choice as leader, selected because he offended the fewest in the selection process. But what has / had he ever done? …what are his major achievements in life? … THERE ARE NONE!

The next leader needs to be a NON-POLITICIAN, somebody who has a list of accomplishments of some kind (almost any kind) in the rough & tumble free enterprise business world, NOT an academic, NOT a lawyer, NOT a life-long politician. A ‘Trumpian’ Canadian who can bloody the noses of lefty SJWs (social justice whiners) and kick the media’s @$$e$ with glee. I’m available but don’t want a cut in pay for that frustrating job to live in Ottawa, the town that fun forgot.

    1. He was good as Speaker of the House, which is something not everyone can do well. But I’m not saying that indicates someone will be a good as party leader nor as PM. I haven’t heard of any other Speaker who went on to lead his party, let alone lead Government.

    2. I do not think you could claim that any of the contenders in the last leadership race had accomplished much. Trudeau is an example of a Prime Minister with no accomplishments. In Canada, it is not a requirement for the job.

  10. Hm. Conservative Party. Peoples Party. Wexit Party (after it’s properly formed).

Nah, no vote splitting to see here.

I’m sure the blackfaced groper is laughing with delight.

        1. Blackie doesn’t understand that, like Christmas, its better to give than receive.
          Sophie on the other hand…

  11. so the liberals chosen lozzer is gone, there has been a lot of push behind the scenes to get rid of hi, mister no-were-boy, that whole dairy cartel set up was a liberal ploy to get an unelectable loser to be head of the conservative party , to loose the election

  12. Peter McKay finally gets to be PM. Grits et al can set their hair on fire over him, but he will kick their butts easily.
He’s the one guy who pull the cannibal conservatives together. Bernier proved he couldn’t with his sulking departure.
Meanwhile Canada fails to grow their economy despite China and US now roaring ahead, set to make trade history.

Last time this happened Pierre took out Joe Who with famous falsity, a Grit trick familiar to Dustin, thus we were left out of the Thatcher and Reagan booms. Now we get to do it again. Scheer was at those commanding heights and failed to take advantage.

When you lose, you go; that’s how it is. He should have told the gay parade favouring sewage dumping parasites to f&*$ off.

But he didn’t; time for someone with a full set of political kohonies to step in the finish the job. McKay is that man imho.

    1. Colin Powell, the former U.S. Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, confirmed Tuesday that hacked emails from his personal account were indeed genuine. U.S. media focused their coverage on Powell’s marked disdain for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. In one email, Powell even called Trump an “international pariah.”

But for Canadians, there’s another compelling tidbit in the emails. Specifically, in this July, 2016 email that Powell addressed to former Canadian attorney general Peter MacKay:

Peter, I am back from the Bohemian Grove. Surprise, surprise, I sat next to Stephen Harper a couple of times and had a nice discussion. Grove attendees know that Trump is a disaster. Most will vote against, but quite a few will not vote for Hillary and will vote for a third party candidate. Strange doings down here. Otherwise all is well with the Powells. We’ll sneak away for a few days in August. Of course I’d love to see you. Let me know your dates. I told Stephen that you seemed quite content in your new place in life.

Canada’s ex prime minister, it seems, spent the summer at Bohemian Grove. Here, the National Post’s Tristin Hopper attempts to explain what Canada’s former Conservative leader was doing at one of the United State’s most mysterious political gathering places.

      https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/stephen-harper-at-bohemian-grove-hacked-email-says-ex-leader-visited-shadowy-gop-summer-camp

      1. COLON POwell?????doesn’t Like trump, who’da thunk that idiot would, just another cuckservative who supported the failed black jeezus

      2. Obviously McKay terrifies you. I’m good with that. Do your worst progressive derivatives of Marxism.

    2. McKay would probably destroy the CPC almost as much as a ‘Trumpian’. It would be last straw for the western half.

“Canada fails to grow their economy despite China and US now roaring ahead”

The US is not ‘roaring ahead’. They’re puttering.

      1. Yea, just look at the mess Trump has made of the GOP. A Trumpian is exactly what the party and the country needs. This site seems to be chock full of Bill Kristol type trolls. Move to the left, move the Overton window is their only song. We know. You magnificent Bastards! We’ve read your book! Strong populist leaders have taken control of the majority of the Western democracies around the world. You go along to get along types have been soundly kicked to the curb, just like your Marxist allies.

  13. When you let the milk lobby in Quebec determine who your leader is , despite this going against ‘conservative’ philosophy and the majority of long term members, you got what you deserved.

There is no country where the culture of entitlement for politicians is stronger than Canada.

Next time I get one of those phone calls from CPC fund raisers, I will tell them no, I have to fund my child’s education with no help, and I am certainly not forking out for your leader to do the same

  14. Good deal. Andrew threw that election. He is just another globalist like the moron he lost too. When I called their office and asked if they were using any of the footage in their campaign advertising of the moron, dancing its way through the world while pissing off the Modi’s and Ji’s. I was told that “that was going negative, and they were not going to run a negative campaign”, I said then you will lose, because how is it negative to use actual film footage of the prancing moron, something that is “real” history. They the CPC told me that was negative, unreal stupidity, but then I was told by someone close to Maxime that Sheers people pulled ,Hillaroid style, 6700 votes out of their hats to pull off their leadership win, if that was the case then he is a cheater, nothing worse than a cheater, good riddance!

    1. Trouble is not just with Scheer, the leadership race rules were set up by Globalist red tories to begin with. Some of the Quebec ridings had more votes for leader than they did in any election.

      1. Scheer was Grit-lite CPC version of Stephane Dion. That was the problem. He was easy pickings for unethical media.
Chuck big government, labour and business. Chuck the watermelons and their climate change BS; talk about pollution.
Be bold, borrow a phrase from Mitchell Sharp and campaign on modernizing Canada, turning her into a “foremost nation.”
Yes, a version of MAGA; but actually appealing to true liberal values, not the Grit bastardization, for broad appeal.
Phase out income taxes, no bailouts for anybody, power abusing bureaucratic statists get fired and/or go to jail.
Biased so-called journalists get called, every time, on their BS. They are playing for the other team. Tell Canadians that.
Tell oblivious brain dead 416/905 belt voters the free ride from AB is over, that the only way to beat them is to join them.

    2. bartinsky… more proof that the Cons did NOT want to win the last two elections and are being run by the same assholes that run the other far left parties…. The globalists running the Con Party are just as happy to have the globalist Turdhole gang running the country as themselves. No one will convince me that the Cons wanted to win the last two elections, they did NOT.

  15. For things to change and the Conservatives to win the next election the new leader must:

First and foremost, have a spine. Having balls or able to bust balls would also help.

Stand up to, and fight back against, the Unifor media. They hate conservatives and there is no use trying to change that. When a Unifor reporter rants before asking a question, cut them off and ask them if there is a question or are they just making a speech. For other “gotcha” questions, tell them you’ll respond once they ask Trudeau the same thing.

Do not crap on friendly news media. This will not make the Unifor media like you.

If you don’t want to go to a “Pride” parade, don’t go. The Alphabet life forms will never vote Conservative anyway. Going to the parade will simply embolden the victim industry and turn off your base. The faith issue is just a Liberal party/Unifor media talking point. If the faith issue were really true, the practising Sikhs would never get elected.

Don’t kowtow to traditionally Liberal lobby groups. For example, the Québec Dairy Cartel who were instrumental in nominating Scheer still voted Liberal.

    1. I would also add: When the Liberals supply you with the ammunition, USE IT. This time we had Omar Khader, Groping, Black Face, Aga Khan, India trip, assaulting female MP’s, etc. etc., etc. Had Scheer even used ten per cent of what Trudeau gave him there would have been a better result.

    2. Mike, the religous thing should be addressed with certainty, it will always come up and any con leader should be aware of that and ready for it, scheep fell flat on that file, and a survey conducted as to scheep’s katholik religion showed that over 50% of those surveyed, found it a problem. So address it right away and take the initiative a way from the media, and that way you take control a way from the lefty media, Harper fared well on that file

  16. I am glad to see Scheer gone. His TV ads during the campaign were cringeworthy. Watch them with the sound off, and his body language said he was always apologizing for something. Not a good look.

I could give a fat rat’s ass about the party paying to put his kids through private school. It’s not my money. Better that, than have his kids brainwashed in Ottawa public skools.

    1. uhuh.
sooooooo if a national leader cringes about public edjukaySHUN, WHY NOT MAKE IT PART OF THE PARTY PLATFORM.
ya ya ya, ’tis a provincial matter’.
      ever hear of arm twisting?

  17. Some of the elitist MSM commentary matches that above, in saying “if the CPC moves into the centre and adopts the globalist perspective on climate fraud, gender fascism and all other lunatic policies, then they can beat the Liberals,” and to that I would say, no chance because half the base will defect and either vote PPC or for some new split-off version of the Reform/Alliance before that election can be called.

A Peter Mackay or James Moore type leader might well shift some centrist votes towards the party, but for every new vote attracted, two or three will be out the back door and into the alternative column. About 25% of Canadians totally reject globalism and all its key policies. This is why Scheer actually did better than either Mackay or Moore could do, since most of his base probably reasoned that he was anti-globalist enough not to split the vote by going to Bernier. I think those voters made a strategic error, we could see that there weren’t enough winnable ridings before the election not to worry about vote splitting, and should have made the anti-globalist sentiment more obvious (it is hidden within the 2019 results).

The only way forward, I would submit, is for the CPC and PPC to merge under Bernier’s leadership. The fact that Warren Kinsella thinks he is a “Nazi” should not influence even a dozen voters in Canada. Warren Kinsella can see more Nazis out his front door than Eva Braun could see at Nuremburg on a good day. He’s entitled to speak his mind, of course, I am not the censor in this debate. But to suggest that Bernier is damaged goods because of this is ridiculous. A Nazi is a person who wants a big government that can invade other countries, arrest Jews and other undesirables as they see things, and build a lot of roads and railways. Bernier might agree with the last of these numerous characteristics, as do I.

If the CPC do make the mistake of finding a centrist globalist sympathizer, or worse still resurrect the sell-out Harper, then they will inevitably split the party further. If the split-offs don’t go directly to Bernier, they will go to some almost-Bernier with an almost-PPC platform. That will probably lead to unification of those two groups, there is no point in dividing the anti-globalist vote in Canada.

And I am 100% sure this is not just my opinion in isolation. I look up and down the commentary here and ask myself, would this person stick around to vote for Mackay? The split is about 60-40 against that idea as it was when the choice was Joe Clark or Stockwell Day.

  18. I would add: Scheer didn’t lose because he was a social conservative. This is fiction that the globalists want conservatives to believe in their campaign to take over all aspects of the political discourse. He lost because he failed to give voters in some pro-Liberal ridings any hard evidence that Trudeau’s leadership was weak and ineffectual, and that he could do better. He basically just tried to win by saying, I am no worse than Trudeau. With that message, most indifferent voters would think, well okay that’s nice, if Trudeau dies and you become prime minister, things won’t change, so I’ll vote for Trudeau.

Max Bernier as leader of a united party would have beaten Trudeau with the same policies the PPC has today. A lot more people want those policies than the globalists care to admit. So Scheer tried to sit between two chairs, look I’m a so-con, and look I’m not. This confuses people and makes them think well maybe you’re just in politics for the power alone and have no actual principles.

    1. I think I agree with thwt. Libs may dislike social conservatism, but Scheer did not push that, and Conservatives havd other priorities. That was not the reason for his downfall. I think Trudeau’s payoff to the media was the main factor. They would not even have published the blackface scandal if a US outlet had not published it first. Liberals own the media.

    2. “Max Bernier as leader of a united party would have beaten Trudeau with the same policies the PPC has today. A lot more people want those policies than the globalists care to admit”

All the available evidence says the opposite.

  19. I’m going to AD LIB Evan Solomon’s comments from this afternoon.

“If only the conservatives were more like Liberals, they would do better.”

Just adopt the same climate doom and 57 genders philosophies, and all will be well with the CPC.

Evan and his Laurentian cronies keep forgetting the CPC won the popular vote, and only a tweak of policies, and a fiercer campaign would have won it. Becoming what Liberals would like conservatives to be, is disingenuous, and deceitful, but typical of Libs like Solomon and Fifer

    1. I can’t believe Evan said such a stupid thing. Why do we even need different parties in Canada? Surely, Liberals speak for every one. Let’s just go with leftist totalitarianism. What is particularly galling is that Scheer was essentially the soft Liberal he seems to approve of. That is why many Conservatives were not happy with him. Media is very very dumb sometimes.

    2. You can tell Evan always think he’s the smartest guy in the room. Paul Wellsian sized ego. On election night he broke the Asshole Meter.

    3. Solomon, he’s that far left Media douche that got fired from the CBC for fraud right… ? How crooked do you have to be to get fired by the CBC… typical Media grifter. I would suggest that the CONs continue to lose because they are NOT an alternative to the criminal Liberal Party. Vote for us, we’re Liberal too doesn’t cut it… One gangster Party supported by the BLOc Queerbeky isn:t enough for the corrupt Media but its more than enough for any normal person. F#$K the Media.

  20. Our very own exit! I heard Trudeau thank Andy 2%. Probably the only sincere thing he has said in parliament.

  21. Good, he’s gone. But let’s not pretend he was the problem. He was just a symptom of the real ill that afflicts the CPC – cowardice in all its manifestations: mortal fear of the press/media; fear to speak, fear of taking a stand; fear to oppose; fear of truth; fear of its past; fear of action, etc, etc, etc.

  22. When Conservatives campaign as conservatives, they win.

When they campaign as Liberals, they lose.

    1. Federal Conservatives campaigning as “real conservatives” have only won once in my lifetime: Harper in 2005. And he only won because of Adscam.

  23. I take back what I said in the tips thread.

There’s no way Scheer was dipping into the CPC bank account. For openers he doesn’t have access to it and if the party was paying anything toward his kids education Somebody agreed to it. It’s not an unusual perk at that level and maybe the party president or someone with the authority to make that call gave it to him.

The board of directors might not have known about it but boards dont approve every expenditure especially if it falls within the authority of management.

That issue is a nothing burger. The long knives were out for him and…..Politics is a blood sport.

    1. Regardless of the excuses…perhaps they want a new Conservative leader ASAP because they may’ve had a hint that the Shiny Pony won’t survive the Spring budget. What good would an April review for Scheer be if we were to be in another election cycle?

And… Yes the upper echelons approved of this perk for the Scheer kids, but the MPs didn’t know about it.
      Source: Lisa Rait

  24. Don’t care who the next leader is but if they don’t promise to DRASTICALLY reduce immigration I’m voting Max again. You’ve been warned, CPC cucks.

  25. I have to admit and as posted here it required me to hold my nose and vote for the dairy queen . That being said I am glad he is gone . The thing that I don’t understand is why the RCMP did not perp walk him out of the HOC for theft . Waiting for an explanation …………………………………

    1. What theft? That’s ridiculous. Why would anyone even believe the media’s account of events. The media is full of deceivers and manipulators. The school expenses were approved. It is a grey area, and the expenses could easily have been paid back if others did not agree with them bring approved. I believe this was used as leverage to oust Scheer. It was a nasty tactic.

  26. A lot of people liked Max’s policies (if they bothered to find them out) but the way they were presented in the media made him look very bad. He stumbled badly in the debate when it was obvious he could not speak English very well. His party might mature but I doubt it. It’s another splinter group that will continue to weaken the Conservatives. However, Stephen Harper managed to do it, he united the Conservatives and subsequently won. You need a leader with steel, quick wits and charm…qualities not possessed by Scheer.

  27. Hallelujah! Unfortunately, his departure was 6 months too late. Thanks for nothing, Andy.

  28. Former Premier of Saskatchewan Bradley John Wall. (How’s his French?) I’d prefer a woman but only if she’s at least as good as him. A woman should only get the position if she’s the best person for the job.

    1. He doesn’t speak French, and doesn’t want to be in politics – especially federal politics – enough to start learning now. He did his bit and seems to be having a nice life with a happy wife. More politicians should follow that example.

The Saskatchewan Party that he led is an alliance of conservatives and liberals against the NDP. He seems to me not a Liberal, but closer to a classical liberal than to CPC, which would be one reason why he wants to not get involved with the federal Conservatives. (Another reason is probably that he doesn’t want to get involved with federal politics and doesn’t want to live outside of Saskatchewan. I’m sure he hopes Canada can stay together, but if the West separates, I doubt he would move to the remainder of Canada.)

  29. I have always felt that Scheer was the Joe Clark of this era. He just sought voters who were tired of the Trudeau incumbent, but wanted the same policies as Trudeau. That didn’t work for Clark, nor for Scheer. The dairy cartel winning the leadership for him was a grim start. His French was painful.

As many have observed, Scheer had no charisma. He might not have needed charisma if he had nailed Trudeau effectively on all his idiocy and told people why Conservative policies were better. Instead, he stayed low profile while the Libs told everyone that Scheer was secretly Hitler in social issues, just as they did with Harper.

Somehow, francophone Catholic leaders are seen as no threat to legislate their beliefs, but Protestant Evangelicals and Anglo Catholics are seen as a threat to destroy everything and rescind abortion rights.

Ontario fell for the same “hidden agenda” propaganda that had proven to be fake, but kept Harper out of power for years. I suspect that the data will show that women voters stuck with Trudeau, while a lot of men turned away, because they believe anyone who says their abortion rights are at risk, even when they aren’t. The fact that Harper’s hidden agenda stayed hidden for ten years didn’t stop Ontario for falling for the same Liberal BS. People are pretty gullible and have really short memories.

The first ten people in any Canadian phone book would be smarter and more articulate than Trudeau, but as we’ve seen, incumbent Liberal Prime Ministers are held to a lower standard in Central Canada than hockey coaches. I think we need a female leader who can’t be accused of being threatening on women’s issues. Cabinet experience would be ideal. She can’t be stunning, like a female Trudeau equivalent, because women instantly hate women who are too attractive, but she has to be bilingual, put together and articulate.

I really like Michelle Rempel, but for cabinet experience, bilingualism and gravitas, somebody ought to draft Rona Ambrose to lead the party.

  30. Message to Colonialist:

The party is incapable of being Conservative. There are too many careerists in the party who just see it as another way to a comfy livelihood. They even managed to tame Harper. I keep hearing how Scheer was too eager to appease his right wing (nonsense) and thus couldn’t win the GTA vote. Well. this is always the advice given to Conservative party leaders by the establishment via the CBC and Globe and Mail.

In my 40 years here, Harper was the only conservative leader; and how far did he get? It’s the same the Western world over. Since WWII, all parties have been besotted by the Welfare State. Thing is, can anyone tell me how much longer the welfare state can survive?

The current scheme for survival seems to be just borrow and print money; let inflation take care of the debt.

The state is the new ruling class and only requires enough taxes to pay for salaries and pensions. The state does not need producers, it needs low rent labor and consumers of government services; unskilled and uneducated, even illiterate, newcomers to create the demand for government services like some captive slave population seems to fit the bill.

So, what is required to halt this remorsless decline to 3rd world stature throughout the globe? People liike Bolsonaro, Trump, Bernier.

As for next leader, Rona Ambrose would be good but she will not change any policies; nor would Poilievre, he has become more of a practiced politician now and would see the position of PM as a career goal rather than an opportunity to do necessary things.

So, Colon, will you be satisfied with another careerist as conservative leader and PM?

Bernier will be a great leader as he is not a careerist.

    1. “They even managed to tame Harper.”

No they didn’t. Harper was what he was: a statist with a weird religious affiliation.

“So, what is required to halt this remorsless decline to 3rd world stature throughout the globe? People liike Bolsonaro, Trump, Bernier.”

Trump is bankrupting America. Further, immigrants are not behind the demand for government welfare. It’s mostly old people.

      1. Trump is bankrupting America???

America and the western world was already bankrupt monetarily and morally and already 90% flushed into the third world.

Your just like the Demoncrats UnMe you reflect your sins on the ones who are trying to restore some sanity back into the western world.

The U.S. and China have reached a trade agreement that would avert tariffs scheduled to go into effect on Sunday.

The D’s are going down UnMe and lots will be in prisoned with their corrupt cohorts in the media

        Gov. Mike Huckabee
        @GovMikeHuckabee

Greatly honored to be asked to chair @realDonaldTrump re-election campaign for @POTUS in 2024.

Gives me lots of time to plan!

By then the Dems wil no longer be a political party in America, replaced by the New Whig Party.

        Lastly

Harper is Globalist Sellout… He backed Scheer and He had a majority government to defund the CBC and he pissed it away…

          1. Not a story UnMe the truth!

            Gov. Mike Huckabee
            @GovMikeHuckabee

            I’ll be on @seanhannity 2nite @FoxNewsat 9pm ET and will explain how @realDonaldTrump
will be eligible for a 3rd term due to the illegal attempts by Comey, Dems, and media , et al attempting to oust him as @POTUS so that’s why I was named to head up the 2024 re-election.

          2. Ignorant retort.

Obama printed something like 80billion per month for SIX years – obama turned the system into a financial disaster and why their debt (when Bush2 finished was 6 Trillion but) ballooned to 20T under money-printing-by the billions obama. Called it quantitative ‘easing’.
Jobs under Trump have increased while here in Canada they are stagnating.

    2. Robert, your message to the COLON, is well above his comprehension level, so you may as well talk to a brick wall.

    3. You were doing generally fine until the last sentence. The country is broken. Very likely beyond repair. It increasingly reminds me of the final days of Austro Hungarian empire when the only people interested in keeping it together were the bureaucrats in Vienna.

It does not mean I am going to throw in the towel. Whether the country will break up soon or not, and I think it will, the fight will not end there. Learn from the left how they win. They’re relentless, they never stop and always pretend to be reasonable and moderate. Yet they are slowly pushing the center of the political debate and the range of acceptable opinions. As Mark Steyn has pointed out decades ago (paraphrasing here): “Successful conservatives do not move to the center they move the center in their direction”. Unless people on the right understand that, work at grassroots and keep on pushing (fully knowing that they will never fully succeed) we will keep losing. Banzai charges under the Maxipad banner do not help. Be Chasseurs Ardennais, resit and bite.

And you’re right, Harper was moderately successful in that regard. He defeated Martin, Dion, Ignatief and always won on points. Slowly and despite all his mistakes (Senate, CBC, immigration etc) he kept on pushing.

One thing that changed is that points matter less now than they did before. To win Ontario, especially win from the right, you have to win on emotions: Harris, Ford, another Ford. We only voted for Harper once and that took a while and systematic Librano failures.

As for Maxipad he isn’t merely a failure or a distraction. He is a traitor and he has actively supported Libranos. That is what he has done, I don’t care what he said, I care about what he has done. He lost the leadership and threw a tantrum.

Name one thing that Maxipad has done that Aladdin would prefer him to do differently. One thing. When did he ever do anything to push the center to the right? When did he ever do anything to slow down the leftist onslaught? One thing, go on tell me.

Maxipad is nothing like Trump or Bolsonaro. Ford is, or rather appeared to have been and the jury is increasingly divided on that one. Maxipad, at best, reminds of Janusz Korvin-Mikke. Obscure, perpetually irrelevant, entertaining, purist prone to temper tantrums. And that is a rather generous comparison.

      1. COLON, Mad Max is an actual conservative, scheep is not, and you are too stupid to be one. Max’s platform stated that he would not whip the vote, but let individuals vote as their constituents wanted them to vote. you haven’t even availed yourself to what max stood for, so maybe you should just shut your stupid uninformed pie hole, ignorance is your only strength. Your opinion does not equate to facts, were your opinion of Max is concerned. It is people like you who the Turd loves, because people like you drive people away from voting conservative, Calling you an asshole would be a gross understatement

        1. That’s nice Enema. Maybe one day, a thought, that it never mattered what Maxipaed was promising, will dawn on you. That’ll be the day.

    4. Also about irreparable CPC, recall that Maxipad got not only the second place in the leadership race but the highest number of first votes. Many, like I allowed our membership to lapse after Harper was gone, only to buy them again to support Maxipad. We who voted for him, donated to him, got subsequently betrayed by him, but we’re still here. We haven’t left with him for his banzai charge. Had we done so, Aladdin would be enjoying his second majority. Resit and bite, watch your fields of fire and when bored dig another trench.

  31. Stick a finger in the quebec elites eyeball: Forget about the ‘requirement’ that the new leader speak French.
A new western Canadian country isn’t going to need French.

    1. No. That’s not how it works-if you don’t speak French you aren’t serious. I used to hate it but it’s a great way to filter out stupid people.

With more immigration this won’t matter so much. Cantonese and Mandarin will be more important than French.

      1. “I used to hate it but it’s a great way to filter out stupid people.”
You apparently have never lived and worked in Quebec.

  32. I don’t care one way or another if Scheer is gone. The party brass wanted him gone and probably someone leaked the story about his education perk. What employee knows the details of the boss’s remuneration package?

They wanted him gone before the AGM. Didn’t want the rank and file making the decision.

He only won the leadership by the narrowest of margins. He had a lot of enemies in the party.

    1. Frenemies, who would have tolerated him longer if he won.

Leaking the LEGIT contract details of his kids education, was the lowest of low blows. Considering that TruDOPE And MEETHEAD are both privately schooled themselves, this issue was a dirty pool, below the belt hit. If party members want to agree to that, so be it. The media of course make shit up, again, to make more controversy.

At the end of the day, he’s gone, who’s next? Ambrose? Baird? Certainly not James Moore, he’s Scheer 2.0. Pollievre is interesting, a very sharp cookie, bilingual. Maybe Baird comes out of the closet and marches in the parades. We shall see.

      Won’t be Max, c’est Fini!

  33. Excellent. Can the CPC please just choose the leader by caucus vote this time? This is one case where the old way is really best. Also, it’s gotta be Rona.

    1. For once, we agree. Rona is at the top of my list too. I’d rather vote for a PrairieWest separatist but I’d at least consider giving her a chance.

Actually, Rona is tied with Brad Wall at the top of my list.

      1. Brad Wall is a statist a-hole who pushed Harper to vandalize PotashCorp shares and overal achieved very little in his time in power.

      2. I like the idea of a Western separatist to lead the party too. He/she wouldn’t have to be bilingual and they could run on a binary platform. Either the West separates or Quebec. Such focus would hopefully divert the federal government from its economically suicidal climate fetish to its more traditional role of sucking up to Quebec. The Conservatives would be a strong voice for separatism (either one) and given the anti-western sentiments of the other parties, it could enjoy political reinforcement. They might even experience a strong showing in Quebec. It would be the kind of middle finger to the ROC that Quebec politics has thrived on for decades.

        Anyone but Peter McKay!

        1. That’s….exceptionally stupid. What the hell would this accomplish besides giving you a guff? Please leave this to serious people.

  34. Big deal the Chief Communist Commissar of the Conservative Communist Party of Canada resigned. Maybe quit being Communist and trying to out Communist the Liberals, NDP and Green BQ Communists and you will have something for folks to support. Send the useless teat to the Gulags. When I worked with Wildrose I seen the same shit. When Danielle Smith in the beginning was on her own she was good. As soon as Wildrose began rising, she was suddenly surrounded by handlers lawyers and Political Genius’s, and that was the demise of Wildrose. She quit listening to the grass roots, and her own gut, and started listening to her handlers. Then she lost her nerve, and her backbone. All political parties are full of handlers and whisperers and you would be better off to consult your dog.
That is why President Trump is so good. He is his own man.

    1. “That is why President Trump is so good. He is his own man.”

He’s unmatched at giving Democrats their old seats back.

  36. The verdict is in from the political panels at Blackie’s bought and paid for TV networks. The next leader has to be from Quebec, speak excellent French, prance around at homosexual parades, promote abortion, embrace global warming scams, and promise to hire more civil servants.

    1. So the Turdhole Media have declared that the next leader of the Con Party must be a Liberal… yep, that sounds about right… lets hope the Con Party is smart enough to ignore the desires of the bought and paid for Turdhole Media… but I doubt it. #WEXIT.

  37. Top ginger bread men:

    Mark Steyn?
    Keean Bexte?
    The Menzoid?
    Doug Ford?
Harper or Ezra and some Orange Koolaid?

  38. OJ

That pretty much sums up Canada. We are a very liberal country. The next leader of the CPC will be exactly like you describe. It’s politics afterall.

    1. The next leader should be an artful liar. Promise all that OJ says. Then once in power. Roll up his sleeves spit on his hands unroll the piano wire and garrote the lot of them. Get into power and cut the whole of Ottawa and its programs.

    2. There is only two electoral choices for Canada. Either one world globalist tyranny or nationalism. Anyone who disputes this has an agenda but not a clue. In other words today’s choices are 1- Any of the current legacy parties. 2 – The PPC

  39. A lot of comments but most are just rants. First of all why are we playing up the requirement that the next leader must by fluent in French. After 60 years this country is not bilingual despite Trudeau 1’s attempt to mandate it. If diversity and multiculturalism is the mantra of the Liberals and all cultures are equal then the first order of business is to develop a new language so that all of us can communicate, no more of this English, French, or Quebec patois spoken in Canada. We need a new language to communicate in Surrey, Whitehorse, Churchill, The Forks, Come-by-Chance, Rosedale, Temagami, Dauphin, and the rest of the country. Secondly why do we need a party leader anyway. Go back to the traditional method employed in parliament years ago, let the elected MP’s decide among themselves who the leader should be. Oh and on another topic why do we need a dozen political parties. There should only be two since any decision comes down to either you’re for something or against it. When you introduce multiple choices everything suffers. Canada has become like the story of the camel, a nation cobbled together by a committee. We can’t defend ourselves, we can’t express ourselves and we sure as h*ll can’t govern ourselves.

    1. As a matter of fact the country is less french speaking now then it was before Peeair imposed french as an “official language” and long before the taxpayer was robbed of 2 trillion dollars spent on the french language (“bilingual”) racket… Of course Peeair knew that imposing french would create a french speaking bureaucracy and give french speaking Queeerbekers the power to rule over the former English speaking institutions and therefore the rest of the country and thats what it has accomplished… special status for french talkers at the top of the hierarchical E-NAZI State… institutional and Constitutional bigotry… the proverbial tail wagging the dog.

  40. “I have always felt that Scheer was the Joe Clark of this era.” Fred at 5:31
True….taking into account that red Conservatives have gotten a lot pinker and more yellow since Clark took his exit.

Scheer made Clark look like Rambo.
