When The FBI Does It, That Means That It’s Not Illegal

The Horowitz Report into FISA abuse drops today.

Update: The Swamp is deep.

Update #2 Statement from AG Barr;

The Inspector General’s report now makes clear that the FBI launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken. It is also clear that, from its inception, the evidence produced by the investigation was consistently exculpatory.

Nevertheless, the investigation and surveillance was pushed forward for the duration of the campaign and deep into President Trump’s administration. In the rush to obtain and maintain FISA surveillance of Trump campaign associates, FBI officials misled the FISA court, omitted critical exculpatory facts from their filings, and suppressed or ignored information negating the reliability of their principal source.

The Inspector General found the explanations given for these actions unsatisfactory. While most of the misconduct identified by the Inspector General was committed in 2016 and 2017 by a small group of now-former FBI officials, the malfeasance and misfeasance detailed in the Inspector General’s report reflects a clear abuse of the FISA process.

Well, finally.

  1. This is the same guy that didn’t find FBI Bias….He is an Obama Stooge that will gloss over the FISA……

Don’t expect anything Honest! A street Bag Lady in San-Fran knows more than him

    1. Yeah, seems he is one of the “we have to respect the institution” guys. So, he will do everything he can to try to make the FBI look good, I suppose he may actually be deluded into thinking it is still a respected institution. But, it’s been nothing but an SJW skin suit for decades now, as clearly evidenced by the people they had in charge.

    2. Sad, but true. I am bracing myself for all the Democraps to gleefully chant … “there was no conspiracy” … “there was no conspiracy” … Horowitz is a Deep Stater who has probably profited from blackmailing those Senators and Diplomats who are all skimming and taking kickbacks from American Foreign Aide. EVERYONE is dirty in DC … and they’re all sworn to silence due to the principle of mutually assured destruction. And they believe they’re all … “too big to be indicted”

  2. The comment about the “insurance policy” is interesting to me. I always assumed it was the whole trumped up investigation but Nunes here makes it sound like it’s some specific piece of information or something.

  3. The whole Russia thing was politically drive and I am 100% sure of that. Why, you ask? If Trump’s campaign was being targeted by the Russians, the FBI etc. would have approached Trump to warn him. Instead they targeted him.

  4. Nunez did say one thing that even a guy like Horowitz should be aware of so as not try to use his report to white wash.

“We want to know if he finds the same information we did”

In other words Horowitz has to find evidence that deconstructs the evidence already available or he has to report the same information already known and then put it in the hands of those with the power of enforcement.

    Hmmmm.

    1. Yes, I was thinking the same thing. They are letting Horowitz know, that they have info, delicate info, perhaps extraordinary info, and that Horowitz needs to be very carful himself, in just exactly which/what direction he goes. Horowitz himself, is between a rock and a very hard place, for fear of his own self being investigated.
The possibility of Republicans taking back the HofR next election, could/will be cause for a lot of fear.

  5. Horowitz is the Wall paper guy…He will paste paper until nothing can be seen… He is like the Canadian Royal Commission, in the end the Queen, or her Reprentatives are always found to have done nothing improper… Protect the deep State, or the Crown….

  6. The Dems defense will be Horowitz didn’t think they were criminals, ignoring it was not his mandate to decide this, he only thought they were duplicitous liars, unethical incompetents and for some unrelated reasons, did exactly Dem party bidding.

The real fun begins afterwards as Dems squirm to exonerate themselves while dodging Senate impeachment inquiry subpoenas, hoping Durham doesn’t come calling on them with a legally binding invite to a grand jury.

Barr seems to think perp walks are in order too. That’s when the show will truly begin.

This isn’t even act one. It’s not even a rehearsal. Horowitz just dressed the set, now the show can begin in earnest.

To paraphrase Churchill, this is not yet the beginning of the end, just the end of the beginning.

  7. The Horowitz Report is a Whitewash.

No one is going to jail.
    No one is getting fired.
Hell, no one is even being demoted.

I doubt if it will even be a black mark on their Annual Performance Appraisal.

    1. rd, you are correct. No one who has really committed a crime will ever be held responsible, America much like Canada is screwed. Lies and fraud and deception are the order of the day. Too bad there are really no courageous people left in either country.

  8. If the report admits it was inappropriate and on-going in spite of “exculpatory evidence”, how could it not be considered politically motivated?

  9. Safe to say we can finally dispense with the “Horowitz is a White Hat” claims constantly being spewed from supposed deep thinking conservative theorists.
He’s everything I thought he was.

  10. The IG basically just said that Trump was dirty enough to warrant investigations. Can’t wait to see Hannity call for Trump to be held accountable.

I’d suggest for you guys to just take the L for once, but we all know that’s not gonna happen.

    1. Correction … the IG said that a completely laughable dossier prepared by a dodgy employee of HERS … was something the Greatest Law Enforcement Agency in the world took at face value. Not my fathers or grandfathers FBI … now it’s just a leftist tool to be wielded with the precision of chainsaw sculpting

  11. If there were any justice, the Chief Justice, John Roberts, the man in charge of the FISA Courts, would be removed from office.
