    2. Jeff – The similarity between Dion and Ignatieff and Scheer is poinient . None of them are electable . As well when you are defending you are losing. There is no leader of the CPC who will not be relentlessly attacked and the proof is happening right now – the NDP and Liberal’s lost major support and yet the whole story on the news is Scheer’s leadership. The lesson here is if you don’t define your program and no holds barred defend it , the opposition is very adept at defining you. Abortion and religion were never on the table with Scheer. Likewise the Hijab was never an issue in the previous election . However, the circumstances were manipulated so the CPC wore them all. I could not support the CPC . I would have voted for them had I felt the NDP would win the riding I reside in. I won’t deficate where I eat. We need a new country. It is still my thought the process most likley to achieve this is using the existing provincial party structures . A couple of hundred thousand Wexit members will be unfairly branded similarly as to how United we roll , the yellow vesters and CPC were. A couple of hundred thousand new provincial party members would have an excellent chance of taking control of the party structures.

      1) We should out-Liberal the Liberals? As said elsewhere, the last thing Canada needs is two Liberal parties; indeed, Scheer’s proto-marxism and his dirty deal with Warren Kinsella cost him many Con votes while earning him few Lib votes, and are factoring directly into Wexit.

      2) The big question lefties have the most trouble with, is “who’s going to pay for it?” Three parties promising voters the moon and being evasive over how they plan to fund it, speaks horror-show to the national debt; at this rate, by the time voters tire of Little Potato and send him down the road, our credit rating will be ZZZ- and there won’t be enough Canada left to save.

  5. Haha. California legalization of marijuana isnt going as planned. Revenue is down. Tax collection is half of what was projected.

    The solution- raise taxes. The effect of this is to drive sales underground. The black market is thriving (and cheaper).

    Sounds familiar. Rumor in Alberta is that some stores are on the cusp of closing. Things aren’t going as planned.

    1. The whole premise presented by legalization proponents was doomed to fail. They said it was impossible to stop the black market so we should legalize and “tax the hell out of it”. They really didn’t think the black marketers would continue. I always knew liberals were dumb but this is just astounding.

    2. I’ve read about a number of cannabis-related firms whose shares are traded on various stock exchanges. This stuff was the latest in a long like of “the next greatest thing” and, as usual, many of those shares are floundering after having promising starts.

      I’ve seen the same thing over and over again in all the years that I’ve been an investor, each time the “next greatest thing” being something different. Those who were quick to get in and quick to get out made a lot of money. What’s left over was for the rest of the suckers.

      I’ve found that by the time I hear about “the next greatest thing” stocks, the easy cash has already been made. Investing in them with the hope of making a nice profit becomes a gamble and one should buy them if one can properly answer the question as to how much money one is willing to lose.

        They hand out favours (money) to their friends and spread spread it around like a mafioso. So much wealth is available that sometimes an actual ‘made man’ joins them – think chretien cab minister Alfonso ‘Gags’ Gaglioni.

        Last nite I spoke with an old friend in Ottawa. A retired DCM. He was around in the T1 days. Said the rumour around the city is that da liddle thief attends cabinet meetings. If that is true…..jeezus give me strength

      My town has one pot shop for every 2,000 burghers and a very well developed illegal drug business. I suspect there will be a lot less pot shops soon.

  7. The premiers stressed national unity. Half of them are nuts and the other half are in denial about it. Our federal government is a stronger blend of crazy. Yeah, national unity, first I think we might want to address the 800 pound gorilla in the room, the problem of too many wacky leftists in public life in Canada. How can we have national unity when the political class is so contaminated with the insanity of the modern left? Only if a majority decide to go along with it. That kind of unity is what Hitler and Stalin and Mao Tse Dung created.

    ( I already had a helpful message back from the government on this, they said it should be a 364 kg gorilla suffering the adverse effects of climate change )

    Canada is now using whatever expenditures it can get away with to “increase” its percentage of GDP spending on the military like veteran’s benefits and death benefits. Its appalling.
