  1. Don’t worry, Barbie’s department and the media will soon be telling us there was no snow in October or November.

    1. Take a screen shot, and compare in a year. I’m sure there will be modern adjustments down and historical adjustment up, if there haven’t been already.

    2. A few more years, when it becomes impossible to ignore the increasing snow pack and decreasing growing season, they’ll simply reverse course and produce digital Etch a Sketch charts that will conclusively prove that Climate Change(TM) predicted increased snow cover and cold all along … and every 25 degree plus day in the summer will be trumpeted as proof of catastrophic warming.

    1. Didn’t your PM … just … legalize grass? Now the kids can buy their grass … safely … with taxes!!

      1. Yes Kenji and the government is actually losing money on selling dope. You know what I say about stupid.

      2. You’re right Kenji, that’s what our PM did. But virtually all of the grass is grown indoors because … it’s too cold outside!

  2. hmm…Getting some of that right now in Calgary. ’bout 4″ already and coming down fairly heavily.
    Not surprising – Not surprised.

It’s weather, we’re 3500′ above Sea level and the saying here is: “If you don’t like the weather wait 5 minutes”. Tomorrow – Crystal Clear skies with a hi of 0C – Wed same with a high of 6C. Pretty typical Nov in Calgary.

That trend (graph), is interesting and helps confirm the Grand Solar Minimum is on its way as it has been for a while. Soon, in the West, it will be illegal to speak of that which you see with your own eyes…

  3. Meanwhile….check out the Globe and Mail solution to Wexit. Put a few million new immigrants into the newly melted arctic to recreate a Singapore of the North. This will create an economic boom that will stop Wexit. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-the-fix-to-wexit-runs-through-the-arctic/

Since there’s no snow up there, who cares right? (I’m 100% behind the commenter who wrote this opinion piece if proof one should not write while high.)

  4. The Russians used to send inconvenient people to Siberia for punishment. Our Arctic is easily a match for Siberia and the “polar” opposite of Singapore. Exiling a few millions of “you people” to Canadian Siberia sounds like something out of North Korea.

  5. Hence the rebranding of Global Warming to “Climate Change” !! Just LOOK at that graph!! Ohhhh mammmaaaaa the CHANGE … the CHANGE!!

WILD swings .. from MASSIVE UNPRECEDENTED amounts of snow … to ABSOLUTELY NO snow!!

The change … the change … nothing like this EXTREME weather has ever happened before.

Think of it like the “evolution” of The Democrats “Impeachment” side show …
    quid pro quo … becomes
    bribery … becomes
the call was “inappropriate” … becomes
    Trump talks “mean” … becomes
    RESISTANCE!!!

    1. Remember when it was the Hari Krishna’s pestering people outside of airports? I get a feeling there’s gonna be a new bunch of bead wearing sour faced groupies with ‘The End is Nigh” signs called the Scary Greta’s or something like that. Projecting guilt for living a good life isn’t gonna stop. They have to get their “fair share” after all… Awesome graph – looking at the entire Fall Season for the Northern Hemisphere doesn’t change the graph’s marked long term increasing snow trend.

  6. The trend line is probably deceiving in that a running mean trend curve would likely show a fairly flat profile with the 1980s anomalously low. I don’t think there’s any sort of march to the equator of October snows going on, this parameter varies mainly from occasional extensions of October snow cover beyond normal limits and that would be in places like the northern plains states, southern portions of western Siberia, eastern Kazakhstan, maybe parts of Mongolia and the Amur basin. It all means a lot less than people seem to think. The important questions about climate change involve large-scale end results in summer and winter. Shoulder season variations are sort of frills of that more important consideration. I am not one to support the full-on IPCC climate change scenario, but I do think we have seen a slight warming of the climate globally, whether perhaps western Canada might be an exception to that remains to be seen, but as to how serious a problem this slight warming represents, I see it as largely a benefit, nobody gains from a colder climate except a few marginal ski resort operators and the makers of de-icer products.

The bottom line is that the climate really isn’t changing all that much, and hysteria about it (sometimes coming at you from both sides) is actually rather comical. As to this “grand solar minimum” that also remains to be seen, it’s more of a Dalton 2.0 so far, and that was a secondary solar minimum not really in the same league as the Maunder. But we would be catching a break with a second Maunder because we apparently have the tools to fix that problem (the same tools that the greenies are trying to dismantle).

  7. Sure glad to hear this since they’re predicting for tonight 10-15 cm of the stuff that doesn’t exist anymore ! I wonder what will fall in its place ??

  8. In that short a time frame I suspect it’s just noise. My last year at university, I was in Edmonton and there was about 3 ft of snow from the middle of October 73 through the middle of April 74.
