    1. This interview was done in early September but was only posted a couple of days ago. In April his wife was diagnosed with life-threatening cancer (from which she is now recovering well apparently). Some time during the summer he began taking clonazepam for anxiety. Shortly after the interview he went into rehab for dependency on the drug. He had tried to stop taking it cold-turkey and experienced bad withdrawal symptoms. Here’s his daughter on September 19 giving an update shortly after he went into rehab.

      1. Oh wow. I heard about his dependency issues but didn’t know about his wife’s illness.
        Thanks.

      2. GregW It was posted a couple of months ago on Dr. peterson’s Website. Every Sunday a new podcast is posted, mainly featuring his book tour talks from last year.

        1. Stevie, on October 9 the interview was posted for the first time on RexTV (Rex Murphy’s site) and then reposted on a few other sites, but I didn’t see it then. Maybe you saw one of those because the only posting I see on Dr. Peterson’s site is dated November 12.

  1. I also watched Rex Murphy, With Jordan Peterson; on YouTube. I also felt compassion for Professor Jordan dealing with “serious family” difficulties in of instant celebrity as both esteemed Canadians brough forward.

Rex Murphy not only sharing the pressures of such Celebrity, but quickly stating the celebrity He, Rex Murphy never came close to Jordan Peterson and it gathered to Rex on a slower pace. The astute recognition by Rex Murphy of the need for Jordan Peterson for a catharsis from an aware, without any braggadocio, individual was achieved.

Imagine the potential overwhelming feeling of serious investigation by an intellect, who now meets on a daily basis other humans who grab His hand and express heart felt thanks for saving their lives and/or establishing a for such an individual to now move forward in life with purpose and success of action, regardless of the result. Then add to this the realization Jordan Peterson’s thoughts and advice is now reaching One Hundred and Ten Million Individuals and still growing. __ Understanding the responsibility He has assumed was equally recognized by both.

  2. If one feels the truth needs defending then we have a problem that transcends intellect. I tried watching it but jeez, I just do not know what to say. Nothing is complex only the human desire to try and make it complex.

  3. Murphy and Peterson have the weight and power to say that the woman wannabe is a he.
Basically they say, bring it on.

  4. Superb interview.
When/how are we going to stand and fight political correctness and corrupt journalism? It tears down a person,a country, it takes away something as basic as freedom of speech which is often just opinion which we should have a right to in this democracy. Surely we can handle being offended without tearing down our basic rights using jack booted human rights commissars.

  5. When Dr. Peterson said, “…the right thing to do is to understand that if you haven’t done anything wrong, you don’t apologize,” I immediately thought of Don Cherry. At least in Cherry’s case, it didn’t take two weeks for people to come to his defense.

Dr. Peterson appeared to become quite emotional a few times. He may have kept it together; I could not. Rex Murphy rarely disappoints.

  6. Very amazing interview.

In the middle Dr. Peterson is moved to tears by the memory of all the people that have been shaking his hand and telling him he saved their lives. Not because it was him they thanked, but because of the suffering they lived with and probably still live with. He was moved by their suffering. That’s a very profound thing and I don’t think I’ve seen it anywhere else before.

Rex Murphy’s response to Peterson’s tears was also something you don’t see every day. Most compassionate.

Here’s hoping Dr. Peterson feels better than he was in that interview.

  7. I can only watch a few minutes at a time and have to pull myself together. It is so heartbreaking to watch. So much suffering, and not just Dr. Peterson.

    1. When it became apparent Dr. Peterson was experiencing some emotional difficulties I thought that the way Rex handled that part of the interview was commendable. Rex himself would have had reason to become emotional at that juncture but he did not. All very well done.

  8. Absolutely adore Jordan Peterson
I so hope his wife returns to good health.
Don’t believe there is another soul out there I
    enjoy listening to more.

  9. It was great watching the Munk debate with Peterson, actor/author StephenFry, andblackauthor/preacher/public intellectual Michael Eric Dyson. Dyson has built a successful career with black identity politics and white privilege accusations.
It was clear by the middle, that Fry and Peterson were well acquainted with the classical liberal canon, From the Bible, through the Greeks, and the great philosophers of European traditions, they had a richness of points of view, even though their politics were different. Dyson was more narrow with black Liberation Theology (a KGB invention from what I’ve heard), Marxism, and grievance culture as underpinnings He was a lightweight accustomed to praise.

At one point he was fed up and called Peterson a “mean old white man.” Peterson (whom I have never seen make a PERSONAL attack on anybody) just said an irritated “You don’t know me”.

Dyson did not return for the public post debate discussion. That’s the left screaming NAZI and either making trouble or walking away. There was no room for talk. THAT is partly why the great polarization exists. Only one side wants to listen. The “you people” from an elderly Canadian icon set the MOB howling and the power hungry Corporation taking swift revenge. Peterson speaks for the voiceless.

  10. This is the best of the two men who understand the world and the way it works. I enjoyed everything about this. I can see the soul drain on both and I hope they can rebound because we need more people like this.
