    Escape Lawful Custody – Public Safety Notice
    November 13, 2019 09:31PM, Release 2019-0850

    At approximately 8:40 pm on November 13, 2019, two inmates escaped from the Regional Psychiatric Centre, located in the 2500 block of Central Avenue. Both inmates are considered violent.

    The inmates are:

    Kendal Lee CAMPEAU, age 29, 5’9″, 157 lbs, large neck tattoo from ear to ear, dressed all in white

    Matthew Shaundel MICHEL, age 24, 5’5″, 146 lbs, dressed all in black

    Residents in the area are encouraged to call if they observe any suspicious persons in the area, and to ensure that their premises and vehicles are secure, including removing any spare keys that may be left in the vehicle.

    More information will be shared when it becomes available.

    If these guys were not picked up by “associates”. When was the last time 2 guys escaped from a fed. high security prison… I mean outside of Quebec. I predict no public inquiry into it will be allowed. Will the Premier of Sask. call for one ?

    No guards in towers with scoped rifles and searchlights to protect the public like in the movies… not in Liberaldom. With luck they headed for the river and dogs will track them down.

When the cop arrived all we got was a lesson on the new normal and a stern threat as to the severe consequences we would have faced had we actually taken any action. We now have no choice but to becomes victims of whatever social aberration our elites won’t deal with for ant number of reasons, all dumb ass.

        1. We had teenagers from a neighboring area continually taking a baseball bat to our mailbox. We suspect location was key because only a few other mailboxes got it and none repeatedly. Our mailbox was downhill immediately off a small rise which granted a certain amount of gravitational leverage to the swing. Sometimes the mailbox was 20 feet from it’s post, and it was a heavy vinyl version. We knew who was doing it because we could follow their headlights through the trees in the winter. We called the Sheriff who went into extreme lecture mode after my husband joked he was going to put a masonry block into the mailbox. Shortly after someone tried to damage the neighbor’s expensive cast iron box. I hope it was a painful experience for the kids. It cracked the box but didn’t move it. Some kids in Lincoln took a golf club to neighborhood mailboxes there with one killed when the clubhead rebounded into the car. Lessons learned for a month or two.

The rationale for this is that if there were 2 books, you would never find the French one and when they had back half French and front half English the English tore out the French half.

        Under no circumstances should any services be provided in Spanish in the US because the next thing coming is that every single stupid, meaningless, and useless scrap of paper must be provided in both languages and traffic court 2,000 miles from any significant French population must be provided in French. It never ends. In Alberta the RCMP or Stasi light keep a large supply of cops coming from Quebec to service a French population that barely exists.

        But that’s not half the fun in Quebec where they have language police and English is more or less illegal. The language police employ 233 people to ensure that a store in an English neighborhood in Montreal greets customers with bonjour instead of hello. Even the seemingly inoffensive bonjour/hi pisses off the fascists. Quebec has the most racist pigs in the world and apparently human rights and official language legislation only supports French outside Quebec and not the other way around. If someone told you of a place where people can be sent to jail for the language they speak few people would guess the place was Canada.

            They’re a couple who sail the world for both vocation and avocation; they recently had their first kid. They’re Australians who met in the eastern Mediterranean, where he’d gone to spend his oil-rig money buying a cheap sailboat and she was singing in a nightclub; she joined-up with him and they’ve been together ever since, sailing the original sailboat back to Australia through the Panama Canal. They got home eventually, and liked the life well enough that they sold the old boat and bought the new catamaran at a decent discount for youtoob publicity for the builder.

            They support themselves by youtoob’ing, patreon support and accepting guests aboard for a week-or-two at a time, I imagine for pay. They’ve had a couple of hair-raising adventures, like Elayna getting ciguatera poisoning in the Caribbean, and Reilly (who had prior neck injuries from his oil-rig days) destroying his neck during a lovers’ tiff and being mostly immobilized during their first Atlantic crossing in the new boat, leading to a fraught debate whether to keep-up the good speed they were making all the way across the Atlantic to a doctor here, or turn and beat back upwind to a doctor in Europe – or I suspect, having to call for help and have him airlifted off by a coastguard rescue, leaving her to manage a big sailboat alone and incurring monstrous costs in all directions.

            And why would they accept Saint Greta aboard, for what amounts to a free sailboat trip across the Atlantic to Madrid? HUUUUGE publicity – I imagine their youtoob hits have more-than-doubled since the announcement. They’re doing something that cost a $multi-million yacht and crew the last time; they’ll be the darlings of the global-warming set, will likely clear several million$ on patreon, and will be in hot demand and zero-vacancy for likely the next three years. It’s the sort of advertising you can’t buy at any price, and it’s all free! Of course, their guests will all be rabid greeeen weeeenies, so I bet the dinner table conversation will get a little tedious…

Essentially, by issuing a statement against Cherry, after the fact, and in a complete 180, he unceremoniously threw Cherry under the bus to save his own skin.       A true anecdote, mostly on topic. I had a colleague in my academic department, back in the1990s, who was a bit of an arrogant hothead, and very left wing to boot. He was born in Britain, and was so arrogant he at the time never bothered to apply for Canadian citizenship. Anyways he got into a fist fight with another fellow, over the same girlfriend (nobody was hurt badly). I saw him the next day, and casually mentioned to him that technically engaging in a fist fight is a felony, and that landed immigrants without citizenship can be deported for commiting felonies. The next day my hot-headed left-wing friend applied for Canadian citizenship.

      1. David – actually one only has to be a legal resident at the time the OAS pension application is approved and has to have resided in Canada for at least 10 years since age 18.

        Far more troubling are those seniors who were brought to Canada as children but did not – for some reason – acquire Canadian citizenship (apparently thought they were granted same when their parents were). Come age 65, their applications are being denied because can’t “prove” when came to Canada (all documentation long gone and anyone who could remember the date now deceased), and this despite showing many years of working in Canada and filing tax returns. CPP records will show someone as having contributed for many years; not good enough for Service Canada. I even met a woman who gave birth in Canada when she was in her 20’s, child grew up and still in Canada, and that woman was refused.

  24. My rant for today is the price of Western Canada Select crude ($38 USD / bl), which trades at a substantial discount to West Texas Intermediate ($58 USD / bl). I’ve heard talk out of Alberta that they are getting screwed on their oil price. What they don’t realize is that the oil market is one of the most efficient and accurate (by price) traded commodities on planet Earth. Alberta’s WCS trades at $38 because that is what it is worth to the Texas refineries that have to receive that oil from Northern Alberta.

    There are hundreds of different prices for oil. The prices reflect the quality, price of refining, location, sulphur content etc. For example, the price of Wyoming Sour is $38 – same price as Alberta’s WCS. Meanwhile the price of Syncrude Sweet Premium is $55 – not much of a discount from the WTI benchmark price.

    What does this all mean? Even if Alberta gets a pipeline to the west coast the prices they get will depend on the costs required to get the product to a refinery and the quality of the product being delivered.

  38. Shortly after the Don Cherry firing, Sportsnet issued some statement saying that Labatts was cutting ties with him also. Since I’d become quite fond of one of their beverages over the summer, I sent a complaint expressing my displeasure with their decision and stating I would no longer be purchasing anything they sell. Several days later I received a rather generic sounding reply.
    In the first sentence they stated that his comments were ” clearly inappropriate and divisive”. Every time I hear or see the word “clearly” used in this context it riles me. It suggests that their opinion is somehow superior and mine is wrong in their estimation.
    Shortly after that the old “How did we do” survey showed up, I doubt I’ll hear from them again.
    The search for a new brew shall commence today, suggestions are welcome.

    1. This is gonna be harder than I thought, a quick look around Labatt’s website and I see they have many other beers under their umbrella. Kokanee, Alexander Keiths, Corona and the one that really hurts is Stella Artois which I take to band practice all the time. Oh well, a little research will be fun, as Jimmy Buffet eluded to, it’s the “concotion that helps me hang on”.

        1. Thanks for the suggestions, I’m making a list. I forgot to mention that said research will be taking place at my local Don Cherry’s establishment.
          I’d also like to mention that I rarely post anything on here but I’ve been reading this blog for 16 years or more. Many of you that post on a regular basis I’ve grown very fond of. The insight and thoughtfulness on so many issues is a breath of fresh air and hope…to an extent. Thank You Kate!

    2. There are a LOT of stouts these days that are far better than Guinness; or at least than the Guinness that is exported to North America. Guinness is light and watery compared to the good craft stouts.
      I don’t know where you live, abtrapper, but if you don’t have good craft beers where you live, it’s a pity. There are now hundreds of good craft beers of all types virtually across the U.S. (can’t speak for Canada, except maybe one or two in the Niagara region of Ontario).

      1. Gentlemen, Gentlemen. There is no such thing as bad beer. I started out at 14 stealing beer off my oldest brother. I would be helping him haying. And we, me and my younger brother that summer acquired a taste for skunky beer. Molson’s Golden Ale. He had some beer in the box of his pick up that had somehow gotten covered up with feed sacks and loose hay etc. It had been there for months. Yes warm, skunky Molson’s Golden Ale. After that summer, I learned there is no such a thing as bad beer. Somebody said Beer Is Proof God Loves Us Men….May My Heart Be Brave…May My Spirit Be Free.

    correction- Alberta private schools receive 70 per cent of the operational funding per student and 0 per cent of capital funding. In other words, the school rooms where private school students attend are funded by the parents and private school organizations, not the province. Shutting down Alberta private schools would require the province to add funding to make up the other 30 per cent of operational funding and 100 per cent of any classroom space needed to add these students to public, Catholic, Francophone, and charter schools. This would NOT be a cost saving to the taxpayer. Additionally, it isn’t true that all private schools have enough wealthy parents and supporters to simply fund it all themselves. Alberta private schools exist across the entire economic spectrum and a significant number would shut down without funding raising the cost of education paid by the taxpayer through the non-private school systems.

    The push to close private schools is not about the cost.
