I Want A New Country

“More of the same”.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe came out of a meeting with Prime Minster Justin Trudeau “disappointed” with what he says is a lack of commitment to address Western needs.

“We have provided some options for [Trudeau] to support the people of the province and today I did not hear a commitment to moving forward on those items,” said Moe.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe will be on John Gormley Live momentarily. Listen in here.

56 Replies to “I Want A New Country”

  1. The Climate Marxist Trudeau has his Agenda which all of Eastern Canada supported. Fight Climate Change and shut down Alberta and Sask. Oil and Gas. So bend over Alberta and Sask. and submit. Better learn your place at the Oars of The Slave Ship Canada. You are Colonies of Ottawa and will damn well do as you are told.

  2. Moe is doing his due diligence. His rhetoric is calmer than Kenney’s, but I think he may be more forthright in his actions.

So their methods may differ but it seems to me that they are both on the same path.

      1. Federalists like Kenny and Moe are walking side by side with (reluctant) separatists. The steps being discussed – getting their share of the CPP, provincial police, opting out of federal programs etc. – are identical to the steps needed for PrairieWest independence. After getting the same degree of freedom from the federal government as Quebec, the citizens of PrairieWest will have to decide which path they take next – Quebec nation within a nation or full independence. I think the federalists will be replaced by separatists at that point.

As yet I’ve seen no evidence that Trudeau and the rest of the chattering class east of Saskatchewan have any intention of changing the way they treat Alberta and Saskatchewan. They enjoy the power of having their boot on our neck. They don’t have the willpower or desire to change their attitude towards us. I assumed that it was a case of Tall Poppy Syndrome but, after watching the reaction of their politicians, journalists and social media…I realize it’s more than that. It’s a visceral hatred of the people and industry in our two provinces. They regard us subhuman and not worthy of respect, assistance or fair treatment. More like how the English viewed the Irish during the Great Famine – central Canada doesn’t give a damn how bad it gets for us because they see us as subhuman Morlock. All they want is our money.

      2. Yes. This reminds me of when U.S. President Barry Soetoro said. “Don’t call my bluff.”

You know that the negotiator is a jackass when they say that something is off the table before they even sit at the table.
Read my lips, Jason, “Separation is the only way that you have to twist arms.” Putz.

      3. Where did I say independence was not an option?

And where did MOE or Kenney explicitly rule it out?

        1. This does not sound like a guy ready to go to war with Trudeau and the eastern establishment:

          Kenney quote:

“Let me be clear, not only am I patriotic Canadian, sort of in my heart, but I also think the whole notion of separation is irrational,” he said Thursday morning on The Current.

“Making Alberta a landlocked place within this continent, leaving the Canadian federation, leaving any argument for market access for coastal pipelines, leaving NAFTA as the broader market in North America, none of that makes sense to me.”

The part he forgot to say is that “Alberta, and Saskatchewan are more than willing to go it alone should the federal government not give us what we need. We aren’t coming to the table with our hat in our hands”

          1. Independence is “irrational” – right now.

He did not say impossible. He did not say wrong.

I think In hindsight these will be seen as the very early days of a journey that either sees a complete reworking of confederation or the independence of the interior West (with obvious and manifold possible outcomes for the remainder)

We should not be surprised at this point if the actual working politicians appear to slow-walk their rhetoric. In a way it’s part of their job.

Several of the ones I know are much more aggressive in private in terms of how they think this will all end.

That stated I think the key task for those who care about the Interior West is to keep the pressure on to keep the pressure on – to keep the process towards greater autonomy moving. Making sure there are as few stumbles as possible is a wise course and I think both premiers are doing that.

But once their studies are completed they should be expected to – and we should demand – that the act on the results forthwith.

        2. If Canadians had even a tiny amount of intelligence the country would already be either fixed or part of the US.

          1. I am amenable to the argument that the actions of the UELs to flee the United States and the greatest most beneficial event in human history was a serious mistake.

    1. Moe and Kenney must go through the due diligence. They must be able to say, “we tried, we asked, we presented the problem at hand, and we received nothing remotely helpful”.

The endless and fruitless meetings after hearing “no” may enflame those screaming for independence though.

I hope they’re more or less on the same path.
Having a privately discussed B plan would be helpful.
Something to table in the legislature for when they fail with the carbon tax challenge at the SCOC.

      1. Agreed. This is similar in that respect to the continental congress where all options for staying in the British empire were expired before taking to ultimate step of declaring independence.

    2. Gord did you give your speech in Red Deer yet. If so can you give us a link. It would be nice if somebody had put it on YouTube etc. Thanks

      1. We did and put it up on Facebook. The quality wasn’t the greatest. We hope to do another recording at a future event very soon.

  3. We may “want a new Country” but we are not about to get one, just more of the same Liberal bullshit where the feds suckhole to Quebec and the East and leave us out in the cold, again.

And for this debacle we have no one MORE to blame than the inept schmucks at the CPC who couldn’t even manage a minority government against the most scandal ridden administration since the 90’s.

Alberta and Saskatchewan elected NO Liberal MP’s,so you can expect them to avenge your rejection. As to talk of actually separating, I’ll believe it when I see it, our pols are still quite comfortable in Canada, and always will be.
Way back when,in about 2014, many commenters here at SDA said they expected Trudeau to be in power for as long as his Daddy.
Those folks were right. I do NOT see the loyal well paid comfortable CPC politicians doing much to rock this little leaky boat we call Canader. And way too many Conservatives are still delusional about Scheer, the guy they see as the “next Prime Minister” and whom the rest of us see and a losing globalist pc dork.

The way things are going these days,I want a new planet.

    1. don morris; Cheers- the attached ‘thoughts’ e.g. Rant may, be too long for this comment reply on S.D.A. My apologies to Kate et al for the posting.
I do not agree America as the “Great Experiment’ will fade away after POTUS # 45. I do believe there will be a significant change in The U.S.A. borders and Canada well before the end of this Century.
I also believe in Evolution towards Civilization of the “deplorables or mob” as the selected Employees of the Civilization start to believe it is because of their Bureaucracy Club of Privilege life has dramatically improved over the incredible advantages of Industrialized Society. ___ There are more Individuals in North America and China and for awhile in Europe and some areas Asia; who live lives of comfort Equal and/or Better than all Ruling Class prior to the Twentieth Century.
Why was the Twentieth Century the Century of destruction and annihilation of so many People?
Think about this and reflection will bring to the forefront there are now more People Living than have lived.
It is too many uncivilized and dominated People(s) for sustainable existence of all. Especially if the Ordinary, Average Individuals expect to spend Their somewhat expanded time, but still not very long existence living better than the Ruling Classes only One Century before this Century. The solution is underway.
There still remains intelligent and dedicated Individuals living comfortable Lives within the present tenuous existence of World Wide reach-outs. Individuals who are aware the Politicized Upper Echelons of World Wide reach-out Instituations are Selfish and Ignorant minions of many ‘Rulling Classes’.
Some ‘Ruling Classes’ enamoured with their dominating role either because of self-satisfaction of suffering and surviving the Absolute Need for Self-interest to have risen to such heights in the obvious – existence of Competition which is the guiding principle of existence -.
Some how and some way the intelligent and dedicated individuals in the – Not Part – of ‘Politicized Upper Echelons of World Wide reach-out’ have picked away at the threads of understanding and provided information on what is probably a solution for sustainable existence. Remember the ‘prime imperative’ remains Competition or the evolution of and towards Civilization will steadily collapse and completely return into the aggressive and tribal domination of a Tribal Culture of Primates as arrested in development for Two Hundred Thousand Years OR 10,000 Generations.
The starting point for sustainable existence must be defined by expectations of a finite number of Individuals to be involved and benefit of the learning & availbalilty of resources & provision of mutually beneficial competition of Individuals with Human Rights & Resposibilities. My understanding the Goal for a starting point is Three Billion Individuals __ 3,000,000,000.
The path to such a reduction is well underway inside the Industrialized Countries of the World. Birth Rates within the Industrialized Countries are less than the Death Rates. A situation which happened even though the Miraculous Extension of Ordinary, Average Individuals lifetimes have extended from Fifty Years of existence to Eighty Years of Existence during a period of a dominating Culture existing within the “Great Experiment”.
The spread of this experience into ‘Not Part’ of the Industrialized Countries is fitfully but underway with the Miracle of Birth Control for Ordinary, Average Women & acceptance, when not affected by the Dogma of ‘Upper Echelons of World Wide reach-out, Ordinary Average Men. The Miraculous Extension of Ordinary, Average Individuals lifetimes will steadily bring the Goal of Three Billion Individuals as the follow-through of Elderly Ordinary, Average Individuals Care is extended well beyond the Need for many Children.
The steady advance in the number of Industrialized Countries will provide a superlative class of Intelligent, Dedicated Individuals who recognize the “Great Experiment” of Sovereign ordinary, average citizens is the best and actually only path forward for Human Rights of The Individual as the Miracle(s) technology become increasingly revealed.

      1. Thoughtful and interesting comment. This difficult situation requires deep reflection. I also see many changes ahead. Unfortunately, the globalists seem to be planning communism on a world scale. National borders are being erased. Many young people seem ok with that. I believe because they fail to grasp the lessons of history. I hope there are strong factions resisting this. Alberta and Sack could form a nucleus.

        1. Fact is, LindaL, they’ve never heard the lessons of history – the few they were taught at school were cast in such a leftie light that a lot of students are just as weepy over Uncle Joe as a lot of Muscovites are. And basic ‘readin’ writin’ ‘rithmetic’ skills have degraded to where these students have trouble with reading and real trouble with comprehension, and can’t write at all. But oh, MY are they up on diversity and global warming!

I don’t know the solution, and with the current crop of elites communistifying the young for a solid voter bloc, I don’t see it changing anytime soon; really hope we don’t have another world war waiting for us at the end of the tunnel.

        2. “the globalists seem to be planning communism on a world scale”

No, they do not seem to be. They have been quite OPENLY telling us that they plan to kill us all with Privation.
Their goal is not material equality. It is mass genocide, coupled with a little side dish of slavery afterward.

  4. “I Want a New Place to Live”

Please get it done. Start a new country even if the Left Coast doesn’t join with you.

There’s many here in Ontario that will immigrate to Alberchewan/Buffalo in the first 6 months.

  5. I caught on You Tube an interview by a CTV ‘Bob’ Fife acolyte & Manitoba Premier Pallisar. I even stayed watching the 7 minute or so video including the obsequious ‘He __ Trudeauce __ is just reaching out.’ Plus all of the standard bias aggressively presented as is the CTV USES to win points. Shown below is the opening sentence of an essay by Victor Davis Hanson which may have been missed by some visitors to S.D.A. Well worth the time to visit His Web Page and read the full Article.

    The Looming ‘1984’ Election
    November 12, 2019 10:00 am / Leave a Comment / Victor Davis Hanson
Victor Davis Hanson // National Review

For a variety of reasons, the 2020 election is going to be a referendum beyond Donald Trump’s record and his Democratic opposition.

    1. This message of “reaching out” is not meant for the people of Alberta and Saskatchewan. The message is to reassure and convince voters in the rest of Canada that everything is fine and dandy. A soother to put them back to sleep so the rest of Canada doesn’t have to acknowledge what’s happening or, gaia forbid, actually improve confederation so that Alberta and Saskatchewan get a fair deal.

Voters in Alberta and Saskatchewan know exactly how this manipulation works. It’s all talk, platitudes, boilerplate answers. Nothing changes until we force change. Prepare for a full on assault of condescension, mocking and abuse by politicians, journalists and “experts” against any reforms or changes that benefits Alberta and Saskatchewan. Canada will agree to no meaningful action unless the alternatives are worse for them. If Alberta and Saskatchewan separate, Canada’s economy will crash hard and may never recover. That’s the message they’re trying to prevent the rest of Canada from understanding.

  6. Moe only needs to go in front of the press and make this statement to deconstruct the liberals message of condilliatory.

“We are only asking for what Quebec gets”

    1. Yep.
      Quebec has provided the template.
Demand everything they have, and more.

The NWT have a tax on everyone that works there but doesn’t live there.
      We should do the same.
Call it the ‘Carbon Tax Offset Tax’.

  7. Trudeau has been a bit of a Zombie since his re-election. He has no mandate to deal with Saskatchewan or Alberta. As Don Morris mentions, there are no Liberal MPs in either province. The Liberals even lost B.C. and Manitoba to the Conservatives.

Kenny needs to start chipping away at Ottawa by finding ways to reduce money transfers. The CPP is a good start. Saskatchewan could follow.

Another thing Alberta and Saskatchewan could do is partner with a US-based west coast state that will export their oil and gas to Asia via pipeline and terminal. That would allow both provinces to grow again, attracting much-needed offshore investment. With the oil having nowhere to go, international money is leaving Alberta (and Saskatchewan) in a big way. They won’t come back without a path to growth.

Meanwhile B.C. and Quebec are moving their LNG plans full-speed ahead. What an extremely unfair country we have created when the Green and NDP can prevent Alberta from shipping its oil and gas to international markets based on environmental reasons and at the same time support the export of coal and LNG. Total hypocrites.

    1. Trudeau has been a bit of a Zombie since his re-election.

Yeah, he’s snit-fitting that he doesn’t get to run it all and do whatever he wants anymore. And he DESPISES the NDP, or the Bloc, or whoever he has to work-with to stay in power, almost as much as he despises English Canadians; “Mommy, they keep telling me what to do! It’s NO FAIR…” So he’s sulking in his Laurentian cabin, you know, the fancy one the taxpayers bought him; weep for the poor little boy, he’s so triggered he doesn’t even feel like kayaking anymore!

  8. So do I.

Unfortunately, I don’t think any of us will get it while the outcome of the power struggle between President Trump and the American globalists is at all in doubt and the president remains distracted from dealing with real threats to the American nation, including the Chinese puppet state next door.

North American unification will amount to tying up loose ends once the job of restoring the sovereignty of the American people is complete.

  9. Good work by Moe,although Moe and Kenny are becoming irrelevant.
The message from the east is relentless, uniform and poisonous as hell.
The West will have no option but to seek independence. because we have nothing in common with the East, the talking heads do not get it and will never get it,waste a little time and observe the pyscho-babble coming out of the media party.
The fiasco of and relentless propaganda being thrown at Don Cherry is priceless.
Just as the search for the Alt Right Nazi’s continue, beings who have only existed in the ranks and imagination of our progressive comrades.
But CBC shines their spotlight on these imaginary creatures.Seeing only their own reflections.
Soon they will produce some actors as proof.
They have better evidence of Bigfoot.
You cannot have a country without clear borders and structures, thus Can-Ahh-Duh is not a country.
The Konfederated Klown Kleptocracy has run out of other peoples money.
The best scam ever is to convince your victims that you are helping them.
Has worked very well for decades in Can-Ahh-Duh.

  10. Let me guess, Moe has already scheduled the next 60,000 meetings, that will all have the same effect, but people will say “he is doing something”.

Moe and the Saskatchewan are on the other side. Yet another Ottawa first political organization. Time to kill it.

The perception that things are being done while nothing ever happens must be maintained.

    1. Indeed.

Perhaps Moe went to the meeting just so that he could say he tried being reasonable.

Alberta and Saskatchewan need to cause the death of the east with a thousand cuts. Withdraw from national schemes bit by bit.

      It will be noticed.

  11. Trudeau has no intention of meeting the needs of anyone except the Liberal Party, and since no one in the west votes for the Liberals anyway they could all die for all he cares. Remember that when you have a referendum on independence.

  12. Scott Moe could have saved the trip and just mailed in his talking points. Anyone with 2 active brain cells would have known that Groper Blackface would simply wipe his a** with them.

  13. Here’s a neat question to pose to liberals.
If Alberta left confederation and the HoC seat count reduced the number of ridings that elect conservatives, the liberals would have a majority, wouldn’t that benefit liberals?
Do liberals actually secretly support WEXIT?

    1. If Alberta left confederation, Ontario would form a new party called Block Ontario to protect its interests against Quebec and the Maritime Provinces that would be looking at Ontario to cover the bills that Alberta was paying.

They may even be so daring as to call themselves Ontario Conservatives because they won’t be throwing money around like they are now (as one of the main bill payers has left the building).

  14. I agree that it’s time for changes in this post-nation nation but I’m sorry to say things have to go quite a lot further down the road to Venezuela before there will be enough support for any separation, too many Marxists/Maoists, too many civil service/health care/education union members, too many climate emergency useful idiots, I am sorry to say that it’s going to have to really hurt before enough people wake up to the facts of life. The good news, if you can call it that, is it will be soon, the pain is coming quickly. The Canadian economy is artificially affected by huge government deficit spending (most of which is wasted, lost, stolen), the economy is actually really bad and going downhill. The carbon tax will rapidly go up, in my humble opinion of my shopping cart the first tranche did about 20% inflation and Climate Barbie wants multiple escalations, this will lower the standard of living. I’m thinking of betting on currency devaluation. I’m afraid the political class wants currency devaluation, it doesn’t affect their employment revenue and it makes the debt less onerous.
I could ramble on, I’m just saying we will have to wait for the rocky rollercoaster ride to hell to get further down the track before there’s enough people ready for radical change.

    1. yop – I agree with you. Recently I was told by someone working in oilfield services “however bad you think it is ,it’s much worse.” I think 2 years into this mandate Trudeau’s ego and a concerted campaign to paint every” knukledragger” in SK\AL with every nasty label they can invent will wake people to the point they have had enough. For now to many people , many who should know better, still believe there is a acceptable framework within Canada. Patience.

  15. The privileged misogynist and racist insists and knows that he was destined to rule, probably the only thing he knows and think that he is right.
Anyone else, better or worse, has nothing that can make the airhead notice that he is the only one in the room, naked.

All others have business of life and running things to attend to.
It’s not difficult to notice that this guy has absolutely no concept of how to run a country for making it good for the people that live here.
The airhead is stuck on being megalomaniac that wants to stop world from spinning if that will stop the climate change. Climate change being more constant that anything else on this planet.
He does not care the harm he is doing to the rest of the country as long as Q’bek is fine Jack.
Of course, he does not know, it is his handlers that rule Canada. They decide, he is just a willing puppet of those who want to destroy working people of the western part of the country. The west apparently deserve to be destroyed, it does not follow the rules of global socialists and will be dealt as such.

The thing is, people of Canada for some reason think that this guy is special, like special K.
While it is minority, it is sufficient to inflict the damage.

Does anybody notice that the country is on the path of Venezuela?
There are parallels. There is the deficit possibly of no return. There is the destruction of the oil industry. Beginning destruction of agriculture in the west.
Heh, what do those people think they are going to eat?
The windmills and solar panels are going to cover a lot of land. Where are they going to grow things?

An ideology is a powerful thing once one succumbs to it. It’s very hard to recover from it.
Growing in socialist country run by communists I have a firsthand knowledge of how ideology works.
You can get a very good idea from the history of socialist, fascists and communists if you choose to find out.

They changed it into global socialism, the United Nations, European Union make rules. Once the rules are made, they point to them and say, that’s the rules and you’re out of luck. The globalists of Canada are good with that and will point to the rules when you object.

Whatever you think of Trump, he is breaking the rules. He does have the capacity to tell them to go to hell. Just watch what the global socialists will TRY, key word, to do to him.

  16. Kenney and Moe can start the process by having a referendum on; 1) Separate police force 2) a revision of Equalization
    3) a separate CPP fund. This isn’t a separation vote but a handy way to flesh out the public’s understanding of the true nature and cost of being a Canadian. Simplify the whole process by making a case for the same right enjoyed by Quebec. Investigate the under the counter deals that Quebec enjoys from Ottawa. Publish them.

As all this evolves the eastern press is steadily trying to undermine the idea of Western separation by defining the terms and by laughing at the idea that the Est could survive. The ultimate threat being that Trump would move in. It is laughable in its ignorance but I suppose will work with many.

  17. What do you call a group that – lies – steals – kills – extorts – is a bully – is a coward. Most would recognize I have described a terrorists. In fact I have just described the government of Canada. Until we come to believe in this nothing will change. The progressive green scammers have destroyed Canada. The real fix is to destroy the progressive green scammers.

  18. a buddy dropped by 2 days ago with a string puppet he found curb side(true story)
for a moment I thought I was meeting up with the current pm. (just kidding !)
the ONLY thing TURDoo 2.0 is *any* good for is a laugh,
and a sadness what he will do to this nation. with the help of voters.

  19. Alas, Ms. McMillan, you can’t have a new country; you’re stuck with poor old Canada, just like the rest of us.

But be glad, Ms. McMillan!!!! You have Max!!

  20. The conservative Western Premiers should take the position that either Quebec leaves confederation or the West leaves. That puts the Spawn in an awkward position. If Quebec leaves, the Spawn has no country as they would never elect him to lead an independent Quebec as he is likely considered a “muggle” to pure laine Quebecois. I’m quite certain that the Quebecois take perverse pleasure from inflicting the Spawn on the ROC as without them he wouldn’t be PM. Any favourable resolution to equalization to the West would precipitate the same thing. The Spawn would get his majority back without the West so the West should be able to count on his cooperation in negotiating for separation. Butts should be pleased to be able to boast that he ridded (What’s left of Canada) of a fossil fuel-based economy.

  21. Negotiation is only possible between equals.
    Look East and listen.
What do you see and hear?
Our eastern Comrades will not even bother to listen, because we are so weak and inferior ,in their eyes.
The first serious attention the collapse of Confederation will receive in the east, will be as the West closes its doors and cuts off the money flow.
The attitude is undisguised, sneering contempt for Lesser Canada.
    This marriage is long over.

  22. Maybe Moe can write another strongly worded letter and not campaign against the Liberals again. That’ll really show them!!!!!

  23. Between Moe’s press conferences and letters and Kenney’s Listening Tour and 2021 referendum on equalization, you can just see the Liberals running scared!

Just wait until the court challenges start! Trudeau is shaking in his blackface.

  24. I have said this before. We will not get any action until the people who support Quebec, BC and Ontario politicians get mad enough to get their politicians to back off.

The only way to do this is to charge a hefty carbon tax or cut off oil entirely, going East and West making it harder for Easterners to heat their homes and drive their cars.

Anything short of that is a waste of time and money.

  25. Trudeau feels much the same about the people of the Republic of Athabasca as those 4 mewling quims feel about Don Cherry.

  26. Westerners make me laugh. Ab + SSK voted 99% for the fake conservative Pandy Scheer (BTW didn’t he look like a little bitch standing next to Our Groper in Chief a few days ago? LOL) expecting that #TrudeauMustGo would materialize while underestimating the brute & diverse force of Montreal, Toronto and Van voters. Should have voted Max…

  27. Ray:

Talk to me when you have to pay a 40% carbon tax on any oil from Alberta.

    It’s going to happen
