  1. “all of which resulted from the policies of the distant somebodies.”

No it stemmed from the collapse of the Cali GOP which left the Dem-prog monolith unchallenged. Cali is a one-party state because of its people. If Google and the rest of Silicon Valley seized power over California it would be a massive improvement. Not perfect but a huge step up.

“Relative technological simplicity and cultural homogeneity made knowledge equality easier. This in turn facilitated rational governance.”

“Knowledge inequality makes “magical” solutions inevitable because an ever smaller fraction of the public know how things work or are paid for. Healthcare woes? Medicare for all. Housing crisis? Make affordable housing a “right”. Students choking under loans? Write it off. Graduates without literacy or numeracy? Teach Woke Math.”

Pffftt and that’s where I stopped reading. This guy should have learned some history before writing another ‘book learning is for homo elitists’ article. Those magical non-solutions were the bread and butter of know-nothing Nebraska and its socialists at the turn of the century. The CCF came from uppity praire peasants. It was McKinley and the urban areas that prevented somebody from the Midwest from turning America into something Lenin would approve of.

There is also no golden age of rational governance. Slavery, laws instituting mores by fiat, The New Deal, etc are all very old and thankfully a lot of them are gone. Old bad laws are still legion ex the Jones Act. For that matter so are Medicare/Medicaid which came about over a half century ago. Good lord PJ media is awful they need to just stop.

    1. So it’s the GOP’s fault, the “thinking class” citizens didn’t support them sufficiently, the Democrats held power, and now they get what they deserve.

      lol…

    2. Oh, UnMe. Where do I even begin?…

Silicon Valley ALREADY control California. It’s the people who built the Golden State who are being encouraged to leave or literally burn alive in their houses. Silicon Valley oligarchs want room made for palaces far from expensive, dangerous San Francisco. They are paying thugs excellent money to set fires all over California and destroy entire towns, and tenured liars excellent money to blame it on climate change (and not on a complete neglect of forest management, which the oligarchs simply refuse to pay taxes for—much less arson).

“The CCF came from uppity praire [sic] peasants. It was McKinley and the urban areas that prevented somebody from the Midwest from turning America into something Lenin would approve of.”

What would that be? A world where real workers and real peasants would be free to enjoy the fruits of their labour without having to give most of it to some tax- or debt-farmer? Where a farmer wouldn’t live in fear of some bloodsucker from the city sending thugs to drag him off his father’s land so the bloodsucker could get rich selling the oil underneath? Where the people and not Wall Street or Bay Street had the sole right to issue money and regulate its value?

Who in God’s name do you think bankrolled Lenin’s vile revolution? Nebraska farmers? Do you think Lenin ever spoke to a real worker or peasant in his life, except to give him orders?

Soviet Russia was the future the urban master class had in store for us, masters who truly had no solitary clue where food and fuel came from, and looked forward to the day when everybody save themselves would be a wage-slave living hand to mouth in an unheated room without running water, guaranteeing wealth for themselves on a scale John D. Rockefeller could only have dreamed about.

Those Nebraska know-nothings have always known who their real friends are, just like Albertans have, and who their enemies are.

That’s why they support Donald Trump, just as they supported William Jennings Bryan in 1896, and their Albertan brethren supported Bill Aberhart and Social Credit in the Dirty Thirties, when the best and brightest in your blessed “urban areas” were denying the Ukrainian famine in public and kicking themselves in private that they didn’t think of it decades previously.

Had Bryan and Aberhart prevailed, North Americans would be far freer and more prosperous today than we are, and we might never have even heard the name of Vladimir Lenin.

      1. ITT, authoritarian peons.

“Had Bryan and Aberhart prevailed, North Americans would be far freer and more prosperous today than we are, and we might never have even heard the name of Vladimir Lenin.”

To the extent they did prevail they brought nothing but poverty and stagnation. Social credit was pure snake oil.

        1. Was?

Get back to me when—after good men have driven the globalists from power—some happy nation is suffered to even TRY reforming its monetary system along social credit principles.

  2. yep.

  3. ‘We are now so distant and removed from the production of our wealth that we believe it is magic and can be shared with the wave of a magic wand if not for the evils of capitalism’ – paraphrased.

I like it. Makes sense to me.

    Perhaps a corrective famine?

  4. The problem with California is the 9th circuit, they control all access to the Pacific…Corruption 101… Drugs & human smuggling… The Environmental Lawyers hold court & are protected by the 9th…..

Blow away the 9th Circuit & California will change on a dime, new day in America….No more Protection for drug smuggling… It was Ted Cruz who said he would get the new 12th Circuit through the Senate, but I guess $$$ fell into his Pockets…

    JMHO
