    2. Obama interfers again in a Canadian Election. But because he is supporting a Liberal it is suddenly acceptable. Trudeau did not have the courage to tell him NO. And no one in Canada will dare call him out on it, either one of the unwiped asses. Obama heard that BlackyBlackface could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch.

I thought that was rich coming from the G&M, after praising the most deceitful POTUS in US history for 8 long years and affirming it again while criticizing him for interfering in our election, if there was any traction from the endorsement, it was thanks to the efforts of the G&M, CBC, CTV, Star,etc.

    2. I just chose to read that part with the “air quotes” (Scare quotes? I’m never certain which it is.) in my head, and that made it sound better. 🙂

  24. Well, Obama’s intervention in the Brexit referendum didn’t work. It could actually have been an important immediate catalyst for the Leave vote. And it didn’t help Hillary in the final days of the 2016 election campaign when he intervened — in his own country — at that time.

    As for the Trudeau crew, where’s the strategy in admitting that the Tories could win the election, and then having a former U.S. President intervene? Former U.S. Presidents are, after all, sort of political eunuchs, aren’t they? Dumb, desperate and unserious. As we have come to expect. You never admit the possibility of defeat (demoralizes your own supporters) or show that you can’t do this on your own. Trudeau used Chretien as a crutch in 2015, and Chretien’s sole intervention in this campaign was pretty much a disaster for Trudeau.

    I well remember Margaret Thatcher commenting on the Canada-U.S. FTA in the lead up to the 1988 election and Ed Broadbent practically having a stroke over it on the national news. It’s not likely that we’ll see a similar performance on our side, but, anecdotally, my network is sufficiently annoyed by this that I suspect that this is going to increase voter turn-out.

    Based on conversations I’ve had over the past few days, I’m getting the sense that there is quiet support that may not be being picked up in the opinion polling. I keep hearing from people, almost exclusively independent of one another, that they can’t watch the television news because the election coverage “makes me crazy”. IMO, nothing of this latest spectacle will assuage anyone’s annoyance at the situation.

  29. The concept of “foreign interference” only matters to the incumbent for pre-loss narrative positioning or post-loss “analysis” and excuses. Otherwise, it “doesn’t exist”.

  31. Obama and Trudeau can have a bromance as long as they wish but could anyone tell us what Obama did for Canada during Trudeau’s term of office?
    I simply don’t buy this Obama endorsement wasn’t a request by the Liberal machine to bolster their numbers among those who trot to the polling stations uniformed.

    A lot has been made of Scheer’s US citizenship but it’s OK for a former US president to tell us who he thinks we should vote for.
    Admittedly Scheer didn’t handle it well, he should have explained it and let it go, tell the facts and shut up. It’s of no danger to the country but another term of Trudeau and his cabal will not be pretty.

  35. Very interesting……obama won’t give his vice-president an endorsement but is willing to show favortism for trudeau. Very unethical of a US president but then he tried to intererfer with an Israel election now a Canadian one, I wonder how many other ones ….but then eithics has never been something commies practiced. To me obama praise is like a mob boss kiss….it proves I made the right decision not to support sock puppet.
