  1. You guys are just like the Libranos trying to explain away Justin’s deliberate attempt to interfere with the justice system for political benefit. The transcript from the Ukraine call shows Trump used is office to push a foreign government to dig up dirt on his political opponent. Trying to argue that there was no direct evidence of ‘quid quo pro’ is irrelevant posturing since even bringing up the topic with a foreign government is abuse of power. Trying to pretend that it is not an impeachable offense is pathetic.

But I realize that such arguments no longer matter. No one believes in principles and what is right anymore. The only “truth” whatever narrative suits for whatever partisan cause someone is wedded too. So go ahead and call me names because I am a right wing conservative that still has principles and will not defend a politician just because he is ‘better than the other guy’. You will just prove my point.

    1. Explain how soliciting help from a country with relevant information about what OBVIOUSLY (to all observers) looks like Biden SOLD American support (taxpayer $$$) for personal (family) gain … is somehow an “abuse of power”? Only an insane, TDS-driven mind would come up with such a thing!

Principles? Selling out the US for fun and profit … such as SHE did, and Biden did are FIRST Principles. It’s called TREASON. MY President has every right, nay DUTY to ensure no more politicians from any party do what Biden and SHE did for their own personal gain.

Ohhhh surrreee … the Hunter Biden issue has “already been investigated”. Yeah, right … by the foxes guarding the henhouse.

      1. The president of the US has no business bringing up a foreign law enforcement issue that just happens to affect his political opponent and then trying to involve his personal lawyer. If there is actually substance to claim (most likely there is not) then it should be handled by lower level justice department officials. Addressing it most certainly should not be called a “favour” for the president which carries the strong suggestion that if Ukraine complied then Trump would owe them a “favour” in return. The entire transcript makes Trump sound like Don Corleone.

More importantly, what Biden did or did not do is irrelevant. Trump is president today and he abused his power and should be held accountable for this abuse. Trying to pretend is does not matter because Biden might have done something bad in the past is partisan blindness at its worst.

        1. So … Joe Biden … as Vice President of the USA … forced multiple quid pro quo (is that plural?) specifically designed to enrich his son … and THAT is not relevant for the POTUS to question? For every voter to question.

Here’s a CLUE for you … SELLING USA $$$$upport for personal gain is a CRIME … HERE in the USA. It’s no different than the CIA officer who was just arrested for “selling” top secret information in exchange for a little nookie from some homely young reporter.

      2. ” carries the strong suggestion that if Ukraine complied then Trump would owe them a “favour” in return”

If so inclined, one might look at it that way. Another view would be that the U.S. has already done Ukraine a “favor” by keeping the Russians from over-running the entire country and that the Ukraine already owes the U.S. a boatload of “favors” in return.

Depends on your POV, your knowledge of history, the present situation, and whether or not you hate President Trump I guess.

Oh! And Dopey Joe Biden is not Donald Trump’s political opposition. I mean, not any more than you are, TimG.
Biden is just a private citizen who, as a former public official, may have committed a crime.

  2. speaking of WhateverGate, anybody watching the dramatization-documentary about tricky dick?
smear aint da werd fer it.
enemies lists, dispatching the IRS to audit the bejeezuz out of tricky’s enemies, blackmailing some gay dude war protester,
engaging the FBI in what they do best, dig up DIRT on more enemies.

yupper. I saw it all on the telly, those bad bad journalists exposing the rot.
the MOST corrupt administration Ive seen south of the 49th. by far.
    A N Y T H I N G for power.

  3. Joe Biden hasn’t been designated the official leader of the DNC yet, so technically he’s a private citizen. In all liklihood, Elizabeth Warren will be Trump’s challenger, perhaps even a Pochahantas/Cankles ticket. Once again, all that the “Orange man bad” crowd has to offer is feelings (sore losers) while the truth of the matter is, the DNC colluded with Ukraine to bring down candidate Trump, President-elect Trump and President Trump. Not to mention the video proof of Biden puffing out his chest, bragging about his political blackmail to end the investigation of the Ukrainian oil/gas company who hired Hunter Biden. Then there’s the matter of Biden Jr. riding shotgun on Airforce 2 to China and miraculously the Chicoms invest millions in the firm represented by Biden Jr…..and Crazy Joe has the nerve to state he doesn’t confer with his son on his business dealings.

  4. So… if a corrupt politician abuses their inherent power on an international level for personal gain while in office…. a current politician in office cannot investigate such corruption in any shape or form…. as long as the previous politician under such suspicion runs for office again….
Lets imagine Hillary won, and Biden was trying to primary against her for 2020, do you think one word would be said if she asked Ukraine to dig up some dirt on him? The dipstick bragged about it on camera for christ sake.
If Obama had asked a foreign power to investigate Dick Chaney for a quid pro qou, would the media have gone berserk calling for his impeachment?
There is no good answer here, obviously Trump is in a conflict of interest position no matter how it is handled. As Commander in Chief, he is eventually responsible for any investigation held…. Guess it’s a free for all when you work in DC.
So all yea politicians, scam and extort every dime you can while in office, as long as you head back out on the campaign trail all shall be forgiven.

    1. “Trump is in a conflict of interest position”

No, he is not. Joe Biden is a private citizen now. Biden is competing to be the Democratic Party’s(a private organization) candidate for the 2020 Presidential election. Biden has not been chosen to be such yet and is still nothing more than a private citizen.

However, as a former holder of high political office, it appears that Joe Biden may have committed some crimes.
Those crimes are being investigated. U.S. President Donald Trump is asking for foreign government cooperation in that investigation.
What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

      1. “Biden is a private citizen”?!? What a ridiculous rationalization. He is a leading candidate in the Democratic primaries which makes him Trump’s political opponent.
The evidence that Biden committed crimes is less compelling than the evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. Of course you would not realize the evidence is not that compelling if you rely entirely on pro-Trump news sources.

  5. “He is a leading candidate in the Democratic primaries which makes him Trump’s political opponent.”

A “leading candidate” is not an official position as much as you imagine it to be so.
Also, Trump has so many “political opponents” that to be one means nothing special anymore.BFD
Biden is a private citizen. He holds no office. He has been elected to bupkis. Deal with it.
