  1. Well, he has some people believing anyway.

I notice all the trains are still running on schedule with their oil cars.
All the pipelines to BC are still flowing.
    No protestors are in jail.
No collection notices have been sent to people who accepted foreign donations.
    Government hasn’t lost any employees.
    Government salaries haven’t been cut.
    No programs cut.
    No grants cut.
Still have wind energy in Alberta.
Still have no nuclear power in Alberta.

Yep, Kenney will save you. Definitely. You just have to sit back, don’t do anything, and the problems will all solve themselves from the heart out.

Conan, what is best in life?
    Crush your enemies.
    See them driven before you.
Hear the lamentations of their soy boys.

I don’t see any of that. Looks like Kenney is more worried about the CBC saying he is popular, than anything Alberta actually needs.

    1. 1 wait for the budget

      2. You can always vote for Max. He’ll solve all the problems in 6 months. Oh wait Max said he’d do it in two years!

    2. kevin there is a difference in effecting government policy and turning on a light, try and grasping that concept

  2. But all mocking you aside; he set up a think tank (ie. yet another government agency), and that is your reaction?

    “Bravo!”
    “Go get em J !!!!”

Wow. If he set up a safe injection site, would you be able to contain yourself at all?

    1. Kevin, the honorable Jason Kenny wouldn’t let you shine his shoes.

Of course feel free to run your own campaign, ya never know right?

  3. Dear Canadians,
A war room is where you go to coordinate blowing up things and killing people, lots of people. Even President Obama could do this.
This is simple political graft, giving high paying government jobs to your friends. This is what passes as “conservative” in Alberta now ?

    1. CON servatives today are nothing butt collection plate carrying ALTER BOYS. Most so called conservative would know what conservatism is if it bit them on the ass, which inclued the scc’s in here

  4. “A war room is where you go to coordinate blowing up things and killing people, lots of people.”

Is that like a “Black Assault Rifle”?

  5. Kenney, like most conservative “leaders” in this country are still playing the fraudulent media’s game. They quickly throw their own people under the media bus in order to avoid ginned up controversy when they should be punching back and defending. I’ll pay more attention to Kenney if he sues the IPCC for a trillion $. He wants the votes of people sick of Big Gov but isn’t willing to go to the mat for them. Same old, same old.

  6. One can understand the idea for this.

The danger of course is that information central run by any government is propaganda.

While in defense of Alberta, there is a good point to have this, it is never the less a government agency.
Imagine that the socialist extremists of the past government get hold of power and use this office as a legitimate propaganda office because it was established by the conservative.

It is also understandable since there is this massive socialist / fascist, global socialist (Glozi) propaganda that needs to be brought to light and expose as such.

Yeah, the information of the media cartel really, really sucks.

  7. The problems we are seeing in Alberta today in regards to oil and pipelines is a direct result of the pipeline industry, the oil producers and the provincial government sitting quietly while the ecofasicsts were permitted to spew any ludicrous propaganda they wanted to without full throated rebuttal. And when they all woke up, the lies were flying. It’s hard to fight against that sort of thing. The war room is an excellent idea and it needs to be VERY aggressive. I’d say even to the point of filing defamation suits when necessary. This attack by the ecofascists and foreign interests was planned a very long time ago….in fact even before the Rockefeller Foundation stuck its nose into the matter.

But the provincial government needs to go one step further…..it needs to invoke the old “firewall” concept and disentangle Alberta as much as possible from the feds….much like Quebec has done. That is the first step out the door if the Ottawa imperialists don’t get the message. Alberta will no longer be the “battered spouse” of Confederation.

    1. BC, by attempting to block the export of a legal product they burn in Lower Mainland buses and their trucking industry, heat their homes and businesses, outside the Lower Mainland, while exporting 37 MILLION TONNES of “dirty” COAL from a point just south of Vancouver from their own coal mines and ones in the USA, are the biggest hypocrites of all Canadians. The Federal Government has final say on inter provincial trade, not BC or even Quebec. Alberta should just leave this so-called country, because under Trudeau he isn’t doing his job. Color me surprised that the son of commie PET Senior is a carbon copy of the shnottery out of central/eastern Canada. So, what’s new. We could export through Valdez Alaska. It’s shorter to Asia by 10-14 days by tanker from a deep water port.

Green? Green with envy (like Ontario and Quebec) that most oil and gas reserves are located in some other part of the country that they don’t outright control. We in western Canada supply ALL the petroleum products used in BC, AB, SASK, the Territories, ONT and 40% of Quebec’s hydrocarbon needs: https://www.nationalobserver.com/2018/11/13/news/guess-where-quebec-gets-its-oil
Doesn’t matter if it’s routed through the US in part to central Canada, it’s supplied by western Canadian sources, with a Made in USA sticker and price on it.

BC is entirely dependent on western oil production for their needs. They get their jet fuel shipped up from Seattle area refineries….supplied by AB/SASK production and augmented by Alaskan crude. Look it up. There is NO US BASED PIPELINE INTO THE SEATTLE/VANCOUVER AREA.

No wonder they went to court to block Alberta legislation on cutting exports to BC. He omitted mentioning eliminating Lower Mainland use of petroleum products in the Lower Mainland, while tossing his outside LM constituents, who need to use petroleum products to deal with winter, distance and economics to survive economically, while their Premier sticks it to them with policies designed for a warm, coastal weather regime that extends to Hope BC. but the interior doesn’t enjoy Must want them all to move to over priced Vancouver.

  8. Look, while I think the work Vivian Krause did was both important and useful, ultimately it is a distraction from the fundamental issue, which is that confederation – from the feds to the courts to Ontario and Quebec – is ultimately at odds with the best interests of Alberta and Saskatchewan (and parts of BC). An existential threat to the Alberta economy and the standard of living of all Albertans not only exists but it is attacking right now. Hey, fighting back in the press, etc. is great and should have happened long ago but it’s a sideshow to the real problems that need to be urgently addressed.

  9. $30 million for this? And they have still done nothing after 6 months? That is 1/8th of his term gone already with zero to show for it. Klein and Trump were well into it by this point.

This “War Room” will get nothing done other than release some cheerleading press releases.

Some derelict office space in Calgary could be rented and staff it with some hard core researcher/gadflies and a cutthroat band of lawyers and we would already be seeing charges laid by now for a fraction of the cost.

Kenney should have had all this planned prior to the election to hit the ground running back in June.

    Kenney is a fraud.

      1. Kenny is looking to a run as PM, IMHO. He’s useful to ditch the commies here but until I see some concrete action I’ll remain on the side lines on how effective he is as Premier of this province.

      2. If you want to be taken seriously, show an example of some real results that Kenney has accomplished rather than just spouting off nonsense. I have no time for party hack idealogues. We want results and fast. Albertans cannot wait any longer.

        1. so what if you think you can do better than do it and quit running off at the pie-hole like an idiot

  10. Can those satellite offices in North America and around the world be converted to consulate offices for a new country? Having Alberta specific real estate and office staff in countries to make personal contacts with foreign politicians and business community would be essential to negotiate trade deals and such.

  11. Good on Kenney. It’s a step in the right direction. Yes, I’d like to see Vancouver paying $7/liter, yes I’d like to see an exodus of far left bureaucrats out of Redmonton, and yes I’d like to see some huge cuts in the upcoming budget.

Last time the UCP called for a donation I told them they’d get one after the budget IF there were some serious cuts to spending. Everyone needs to keep the monetary pressure on these guys. They need to know their funding and political future depends on some actual conservative movement.

  12. Boy the haters are out in force on this topic.
It must be something that frightens them or they would not be weighing in.
Keep it up Mr. Kenny, and speed it up once you find your footing.
And for those who are proposing pursuing Buffalo as the solution. Might I suggest that Mr. Kenny’s initiative is not inconsistent with pursuing Buffalo.

    1. Yea, I hope Kenny’s War Room ferrets out some of the SDA trolls as well.

Kenny’s War Room, has a nice ring but we should have a “cooler” name for it,
      Alberta Strike Force 1
Alberta Alpha Command – Commie Destroyer central
      W.A.R – Western Alberta Resistance

      1. I like Friends of Fossil Fuels with F-OFF as its abbreviation…but that may offend some tender souls. 🙂

        Regional offices as follows:

        F-OFF Vancouver
        F-OFF Quebec
        F-OFF Ottawa
        F-OFF Toronto

      2. Paul, you are fussed up on names and branding like the political hack you are. You are not focused on getting quick results and turning the province around. You probably voted for do-nothing clowns like Prentice, Redford, Stelmach and Getty that did nothing other than lead us to the disastrous Notley regime because you PC clowns could not run Alberta properly even in prosperous times.

  13. Talk is cheap that’s why the Prime Minstrel can’t shut his slutty piehole.
Don’t say jack sh!t till you’re ready to say it all while its backed up by warrants and seizures.

    1. Yes, and war room is just a fancy schmancy way of saying, “Lets just do a whole lot of talking.”
      Where is the DOING?
I want to see a made in Alberta $1per liter TAX on every liter oil/gas shipped West or East of the Alberta border and $1 per cubic meter TAX on NG shipped West or East too. When do I want it? YESTERDAY and Going Forward! Make it RETROACTIVE back to May 2019.
That is my idea of WAR.

  14. Lovely. Within weeks? So after the election?

And is Edmonton going to expect the mainstream media to print corrections or retractions and name their disinformation sources (not to mention the bastards bankrolling the disinformation)?

What Alberta needs is an Accurate News and Information Act. Invoke the notwithstanding clause if necessary.

    1. Lovely, another government department telling us what news is accurate and what isn’t.
What Alberta needs is more independent news companies like True North, The Post Millennial and The Rebel. Give them time. They are growing by leaps and bounds while the legacy media slowly dies farting.
And how about the province stop funding media welfare parasites like these guys: https://www.alberta.ca/alberta-media-fund.aspx

      1. The Rebel couldn’t grow into a shoebox. Those aren’t media companies they are disinformation campaigns.

  15. This is so dumb and…lame. Kenney’s term is 1/8 done as someone above has noted and he’s barely done jack all, probably because Scheer begged him (and Ford) to not do anything because-gasp!-it might make the election harder. This would be bad enough if it wasn’t possible that it might go on if there’s no majority government, which is entirely possible. Scheer will be forever telling Kenney and Ford to hold off on those meanie reforms, and they will because Ford’s kinda dumb and Kenney wants the same job Scheer does so he needs to be onside with him and the CPC apparatus.

There’s a bunch of things Kenney could do instead of creating this blatant propaganda department and that includes angling to get more powers from Ottawa ex setting up and Alberta pension plan. That he’s not tells you what this really is about: making PM Kenney a reality.

    1. yes unDork Ford is dumb and you are a lot dumber than Ford could ever be, beside coming in here and proving yer an idiot what else have you accomplished in life?????

  16. From someone who used to fight these battles 30 years ago, there is very little that can be accomplished (legally) by government, particularly when you consider that they probably couldn’t even clean up their own school curriculum. Government is more hopeless than even large corporations. If they covertly handed out brown paper bags full of cash to organizations like the Hells Angels for example, they could accomplish so much more.

They will likely spend it instead on lawyers to intervene in actions (injunctions and suits) brought on by the anti-oil sands backers or work to get the federal government to take away charitable status which will only affect domestic donations.

  17. “From someone who used to fight these battles 30 years ago, there is very little that can be accomplished (legally) by government,’

Rubbish. If these other provincial governments can stop the construction of pipelines, and movement of goods the Alberta government can stop the sale of oil/ gas to these provinces or at least TAX the sale of such. The power to tax is the power to slow or even stop a thing.

It is the same as one international government raising a tariff or duty against another international government.
The Confederation Act of 1867 gives the several provinces the power to do such a thing during interprovincial trade. It’s a matter of will.
Provinces West and East of Alberta have governments which are stopping Alberta’s trade.
Alberta’s government should retaliate in this Trade War begun against Alberta by these provinces and demand compensation for the damages these other governments have already caused to Alberta’s people and primary industry.
