  1. If I *had* to vote for a Democrat, it would be her.
If she could recognize which Democrat policies are a direct violation of the US constitution and drop them, she would definitely get my vote.

    1. She would get my vote for one reason … and it’s reason-enough … she’s no phony. She appears to have strong beliefs and does not modulate them, in exchange for political whoring. Compare and contrast her to Kamela Harris who shapes her every speech for the audience as a pandering whore. Watching Kamela enthusiastically say YES! I’ll BAN everything!! in the interest of the New Green Deal!!! Yes!! Plastic straws!! Plastic Flamingos!! Plastic tampon applicators!! … everything BANNED!! Next week, at the AFL-CIO luncheon Kamela will say she was just joking. The American people (hopefully) are sick to death of this kind of LYING politician

      1. Look, calling Kamela Harris a whore is not a figure of speech, but the literal truth. So that is a very, very low bar.
I think some of these non-media favs who had the audacity to run, like Gabbard and Williamson, already have learned things about the Democrats since the start of the “debates.” I only hope they can reason just a little deeper and come to the realization that is what the Democrats are all about. And only that. I can be devastating if they really call out the Democratic party for what it is.

        1. True. And Bernie’s no phony. He is a hardcore Communist. Of course, my bar (for politicians) is a little higher than simple sincerity. But given the abstract of HAVING to vote for one of the Demoncreep candidates … I’d likely go with Gabbert.

Here is where I sheepishly admit I cast my very first presidential vote for Jimmy Carter. Because he appeared to be an honest and sincere Christian. An anti-politician of his time. The result of THAT vote shook me out of my shallow emotional decision-making. Paying 12.5% for my very first mortgage … woke me up REAL quick.

  2. Speaking as a strong Trump supporter, I believe Tulsi is the one Democrat candidate that could challenge Trump in the general election. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders and gives serious, rational thought into the positions she takes.

  3. You know how Instapundit is always saying “all the Democrats have to do is not be crazy, and they can’t even do that”? Well, this one doesn’t sound crazy. I think she’s wrong on most of the issues, but not crazy.

  4. She shows glimmers of common sense but it must be a ruse – otherwise why would she be a dem..?

  5. Don’t get fooled by Tulsi Gabbard’s appearance and her being well-spoken.

First, she’s okay for women to kill their babies in their wombs.

Second, her entire working life has been in government. The only solution to ANY problem that she knows is yet more government. She knows zip about the impact of government on, for example, business.

In essence, she’s like a person-version of the European Union.

    Don’t get fooled.

    1. In a way, I think you are probably right. I am not a purist on abortion so a balanced position on that doesn’t worry me (I respect that it may be a blocking issue for you).

It is my opinion that if the Republican party would drop their fundamentalist opposition to abortion, they would wipe the floor with the Democrats. Equally, if the Democrats were to one day drop their gun abolitionist stance, the Republicans could well become history. One of them is going to do that one day…

But as things are, I can see an advantage to an insider being President. Trump is finding it an uphill battle to clear out the swamp, an insider would find it much easier (at least initially – maybe just long enough). Now, is she interested in doing that? I don’t know. There is no way she is going to even hint at it given the opposition she is already getting from her own party. But she has the intelligence, the personality and, I think, the guts to do it, given the chance.

It’s a gamble. But a better one than a Never Trumper or one of the Dem front runners.
