Canada is America’s Useful Idiot

Licia Corbella writes:

If you ever doubted whether Canada’s government is acting like a useful idiot for U.S. interests, the passage Friday of Bills C-48 and C-69 in the Senate provided ample proof. Independent researcher Vivian Krause has stacks of documents to prove it.

But first, in Alberta, Premier Jason Kenney went appropriately nuclear over this.

“The passage of these two bills not only undermines Canada’s economy, but also the Canadian federation,” Kenney said. He’ll undoubtedly be criticized for saying this by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other members of the Laurentian elite. But this isn’t so much a threat as a warning.

  1. I’ve been saying exactly this for years. Nobody in Canada has helped America “Become Great Again” more than tickle trunk Tofino boy and his band of freeloading flunkies. The U.S. hasn’t done Canada any favours either.

      1. Here here

        Well said

        Every country needs a scapegoat

All Canadians have allowed this to happen.

You want real change vote for the PPC.

    1. Martin you are free to criticize the Americans…because they keep you free. And safe.

      1. I’m not criticizing the U.S. at all. On the contrary. They’re not the stupid ones. They’re actually expanding oil and LNG exports just like I would if I was in their shoes. I blame JT’s progressive geniuses for ALLOWING it to happen at Canada’s huge expense. We should have had three new pipelines operating by now. What else to call it besides treason against Canadian confederation?

        1. Trudeau’s “ allowed “ expanded US oil and LNG exports? Please explain how he did this. I have always heard these 2 events were strictly American developments. How could Trudeau have stopped them?

          1. It’s a race to get production to market buddy. You stop pipelines and LNG facilities which is what JT’s gov’t did and you concede export share to the Americans. Surely you can see that? Now we’re in a situation where Cdn gas is stranded at the end of the line and our only oil export market is the U.S. who is only too happy to buy it at a huge discount. JT’s gov’t enabled this travesty.

          2. Martin B/Buddy-
You are confused. US LNG and shale oil is produced and delivered below Canadian costs. There is nothing Trudo could’ve done to stop the entry of US shale oil and LNG into the world market.

          3. That’s not saying PM Castreau allowed the Americans to expand their oil and gas exports at our expense, it’s entirely their business to develop their industry and use their resources. But American private individuals and groups have funded Canadian political intereference against our resource development and industry and the Liberals have allowed this interference “at our expense”, i.e. it is costing us. Canadians should be free to advocate for stupid policies that hurt our country, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they should be allowed to accept foreign funding, and they certainly should not be allowed to keep secret from our electorate tha they are so funded nor the true intention of the donors .

The Government of Canada (including lower levels of government) has a duty to the citizens of Canada to keep us informed about foreign activities that are meant to affect us.

PM Justin Castreau is not loyal to Canada.

    2. No FAVOURS..??

Hmm…seems to me without the US you and I would be speaking Mandarin or Cantonese.
      Wake up buddy.

  2. What do companies (and entrepreneurs) do when you raise taxes?

    https://www.google.ca/amp/s/torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/craig-carbon-taxes-should-give-pause-for-workers/amp

Many go to places which have lower taxes. The USA has no carbon taxes. China and India have no carbon taxes.

But if you believe climate change can be prevented, and I don’t, you should not impose carbon taxes. Why? Cause the jobs move to India or China, where they are building new coal plants. Thus a Canadian carbon tax actually increases total global CO2 emissions.

    1. Joe.

Great connection that you make here. I like how you linked the dots together.

However, you’re making far too much sense.

You must be careful or Fidel’s son/The Spawn/Justine will call you a conservative thinking (fill in the blank) phobe.

    2. It is unconscionable that Canada; large in land area, small in population … in an EXTREME cold climate would intentionally cripple their ability to heat their own homes with these nonsensical fossil fuel restrictions. Of all the countries in the world, Canada is the LAST one that should be limiting Co2. They’re barely a blip on the radar of Co2 use and generation.

And Canada provides conflict-free oil to the world. In doing so, Canada suppresses the political power of criminal states throughout the Middle East … and Russia … Venezuela. I suppose these universally-leftist NGO’s prefer the criminal states retain their power. These NGO’s are using “the environment” as a cover to suppress energy independence of Western civilization. The Left is bent on taking-down the West. Of “leveling the playing field” by intentionally crippling our energy independence.

      1. Ease up on the facts and logic. Catherine McKenna, the Minister of the Environment has “no time” for people who disagree with her, PM Shitstain and the Corrupt Liberal/MSM/Higher Education cabal.

        1. Buddy I was going to say the same thing, facts and logic are missing in Canada.

      2. That pretty much sums it up Kenji.
Add in a Genetically fed Hatred of Alberta by PM Dipshit and you’ve got it locked up tight.

The East is gonna be in deep shit once we leave….and given Bill C- 48/69 are very close to receiving Royal Assent, that’s coming closer by the day.

Couldn’t happen to a more teasonous, corrupt, arrogant snotty bunch if there ever were one.
Ralph Klien – a fromer GREAT Premier of Alberta had it right when he said: “let those Eastern BASTARDS freeeze in the DARK” I clould not agree more.

  3. I’ve also been saying this for years. Whatever Canada’s useful idiots (Liberals/NDP/Greens) do, the US wins and Canada loses. It’s not a coincidence.

    1. Maybe, just maybe, Canadians should have joined the Revolution instead of remaining blindly and stubbornly loyal to their ruling Colonial elites?

Choices ALWAYS have consequences, don’t they…

        1. Sorry, how so? The world’s immigrant cohorts almost universally reject that claim – as evidenced by the recent wave coming to Canada: only “chose” Canada when it became clear they wouldn’t be able to stay in the US. Most will be intending to wait out Trump, and have another go at the US in a couple years.

But they are all wrong, and know nothing, and you are right. Got it, chauvinist twit.

        2. UnMe – maybe not join the American Revolution, but start a Canadian one. Confederation would be rock solid if the Canadian Senate was directly elected, and each province had the same number of senators. In that event Ontario/Quebec could not dictate to the rest of the country, based on their dominance of the Commons.

And in the event that could not be agreed, their would have been 2 Canadian nations.

          1. An elected senate is a terrible idea. It’s been a disaster in America and it would be here. More elections are the last thing we need.

The US is better than Canada in some ways and worse than others. Guns and free speech: America wins

Justice system, mode of governance (unicarmel not bicarmel no elected executive), and implementation of federalism: Canada wins

Violent revolutions sometimes have to be done, but even successful ones leave a lot of lingering fallout.

          2. scc Canadians would still elect dumb socialists and the end result would be the same.

      1. If the American military said “Hey Canada, the cost to protect your sorry asses is that we only allow X amount out per year to ensure we can tap it if we need to deal with the Chicoms or the Salafists. That would be fair.

    2. JDN –
The US wins by a crippled Alberta oil sector? Only the leftists in the US consider that a “ win” . One of Donald Trump’s first actions was to approve Keystone XL.

      Trump considers keystone XL essential.

      1. He’s done only the minimum amount to get it built, and it still might not. If only Trump and his fans loved oil more than they hated brown people.

      2. This has little to do with Trump. Look at EIA numbers. U.S. oil production has more than doubled in the last ten years while U.S oil exports have seen a massive increase. Anyone with eyes can see who is winning.

Yes, KXL would be good for Alberta and Canada, but also for U.S refineries, and does little to change the relationship, that is, the U.S. being Alberta’s only export customer that gets a substantial discount as a result.

This is not a critique of U.S. government policy. Rather, as Vivian Krause has shown for years, there are private forces and finances at work that favor a crippled Canadian energy sector. And the Liberal, NDP and Green parties have been more than happy to see that happen. This is the genius of it: Canadian voters have been convinced that cutting their own throats is moral and virtuous.

Don’t expect Trump to interfere, and why should he? He is perfectly happy with what Trudeau is doing. In the meantime, a la Kinder Morgan, U.S. companies hire more U.S. workers (including brown people) to build more U.S. pipelines to carry more U.S. oil to market.

        1. The best market for heavy crude is the US Gulf coast refiners. The difference between what Alberta producers get, and what the Gulf refiners pay is the cost of shipping the crude to the Gulf. There is a bottleneck between the Midwest pipelines and Cushing OK. Right now there are neither enough rail cars available or pipeline space to transport all Alberta bitumen. The low prices for bitumen are paid for delivery to Hardisty.Solve the delivery problem from the Midwest pipelines to Cushing and Alberta oil will receive a much better price at Hardisty. The Gulf refiners are ready for it, particularly with the drop off in heavy crude exports from Venezeula.

  4. My only question for Premier Kenney at this moment, is:

How far do you need to be pushed before a separation referendum becomes a reality?

    Not “if” but when.

Because there’s no other stopping old eastern Canada from stealing what is our future.
It returns to the front page, then leaves for awhile, a gov’t is turfed out, another is voted in with their shitty empty promises that “this time it’s different”… then shitty eastern Canada votes the elite centrists back in,
    but it’s always the same.
We work for eastern Canada’s benefit, not our benefit. The Constitution of Canada favors the eastern provinces, there are no property rights, some groups are more important than others, the SCOC makes rules that act like acts of parliament. Our taxes go up, and then we’re told we’re the ones in the wrong.

Canada is broken. There’s no repairing the damage. Break it up. Then sign trade agreements, or don’t.

    1. Countries based entirely on Imperial and Colonial fantasies from a past century never last … Someone forgot to update that family compact that it isn’t 1900 anymore. Time for Canada to end.

    1. How would you know? Heard any of them speak openly about what these “laws” will do to their beloved, Post National Kanaduh, according to LPOC dogma? And do you even know who the “Laurentian Elites” are? AFAIC they support it wholeheartedly, or they would be speaking out.

      1. “And do you even know who the “Laurentian Elites” are? ”

No and I highly doubt anyone here does. Another set of fake witches to burn see also ‘globalists’

    2. Bull! They are the ones pushing for the crushing of western Canada and keeping it in thrall to them. Just read the papers and watch the Bolo CBC and fellow travelers CTV and Global for all the evidence you need.

    3. WHY…?? They could give a shit Unthing.

They get THEIR $$$ from the Multi Millions from what’s handed to the Quebec Mafia who control the Montreal/Quebec city Docks. All to ensure Saudi – Venezuelan – Nigerian Tankers continue to provide unabated, their OIL … Said Baksheesh travels along the Quebec Political hiway straight into the Premiers Office AND likely the PMO as well.

Wiith Western Canada’s Oil/Gas Industry effectively shut down, said Western Oil won’t move Eastwards…but other Oil will move Westwards.
      Think “Energy West”.

      Laurentien elites WIN
      Quebec Criminal Cabal WINS
Trudeaus demographic WINS (Saudi – Nigerian Oil)
      And we get FUCKED completely.

    1. Now if they begin to sense that maybe they will get a FAR better deal from a free Athabasca Republic, the West will truly begin to become independent. Only Imperial Powers refuse to allow independence for break-away regions. Regional Independence is the ONLY proven antidote to Imperialism.

It is time for the West to leave. Canada once worked as is. But the times they are a-changin’. And as the Left loves to remind everyone, change is GOOD!

    2. There is also Eagle Spirit Energy who are suing the feds. You won’t hear No Time McKenna or PM Dickhead mention them.

    3. The eco fanatics will simply find, and fund, the people in each First Nation that still oppose whatever the elected chiefs want.

I’ve personally seen it happen too many times.

An recent example can be seen in the opposition from the hereditary chiefs opposing the LNG pipeline in northern BC. Even though all the elected chiefs of all the First Nations on the pipeline route have signed on to the pipeline there is still opposition from some hereditary chiefs and their supporters.

When an elected chief loses an election the eco groups will support the old chief in opposition to a industry project. Even though the new chief and council have negotiated a benefits agreement with the project proponents. And of course the media (we love conflict) report on the opposition, not on the fact that the majority of that First Nation support the project.

  5. We have quite the environmentalist prime minister. Great Leader Kim Sung Trudeau burned jet fuel to Toronto Friday for a muslim meeting, then burned jet fuel back to Ottawa for some personal time Saturday. Now he is burning jet fuel back to Toronto Sunday for the pervert parade. His lackies inform us that only the media accredited by pervert parade organizers will be allowed to accompany him along the route. Afterwards he will be on CP24 News to explain how wonderful homosexual sex is. He then burns jet fuel back to Ottawa.

  6. …and Ottawa politicians (and government appointed judges?) sold the rest of us out so cheaply. Millions of dollars being passed between a few hands resulted in the loss of billions of dollars per year in energy revenues for all Canadians and the loss of livelihood for thousands and thousands of blue collar families.

    1. Before I get grief about the court system – the PMO meddling with the AG and public prosecutor with indications the PMO had a retired Supreme Court justice in their pocket to help SNC, the Norman Case, Supreme Court rulings that strain logic (eg. alcohol sales between provinces) are recent examples of politics appearing to interfere in the justice system. Why not in environmental cases that are politically sensitive? Then there’s this:

      Blacklock’s Reporter@mindingottawa

Supreme Court of Canada Chief Justice Wagner blames social media for waning confidence; 42% in gov’t poll don’t think justice is fair. (link: https://www.blacklocks.ca/judge-blames-social-media/)

A sizable portion of the Canadian public is losing confidence in our legal system and courts, for various reasons.

      1. Sure it’s “social media” exposing the idiocy of those recent court decisions (for example the beer decision). Back in the day we had to write a letter to the newspaper and hope it’d be published. Some slow news days they’d publish 5-8 of them while 2-3 was the normal.

Most days they’d take the side of one or the other mainline parties and repeat without considering individual’s opinions.

Now, those connected insiders and benchers simply don’t understand why we don’t agree with them, like we’re ungrateful for all they’ve given us. Possible sarc/

*remember, “SDA doesn’t speak for the people of Saskatchewan”

A sizable portion of the Canadian public has completely lost confidence in our legal system and courts, for various reasons.

      2. Supreme Court of Canada Chief Justice Wagner should be out looking for work! There is no way that Canada should have a Supreme Court! There are appeal courts in every province. That is more than enough.
We have the House of Commons – very political by design. If we had an elected and equal Senate, it would become effective in promoting the interests of the provinces. (Not appointed! The latest Bitch appointed in Alberta is an example.)
        This is not to be.
Therefore the only solution is the Western Provinces must each declare a UDI. And then start ‘Nation Building’ where they can focus on their own interests.

  7. End point of oil or any other resource produced in Alberta….Valdez, Alaska. Shorter to Asia, by a week, tanker wise. Closer than any west coast port, right down to Mexico. Alaska wants to build rail to this part of the country, too. We don’t need Port of Vancouver. Shut BC off , they want no truck nor trade with hydrocarbons. Give ’em what they want.

  8. Vivian Krause is a hero in every sense of the word. Too bad she has been ignored for way too long.

Also, it is a shame on the west that the Canadian Petroleum Producers Association woke up so late to the threat against Canada and to all energy resource development. Why should Trump help us if we are too dumb to fight for ourselves?

      1. “…We have enough on our plate without hooking up with a broke welfare state.”

What a coincidence. So do they.

  9. The US has nothing to gain from keeping Canadian oil in the ground, and much to lose.

What is in US interests is keeping Albertan oil out of Chinese hands. In the end that will probably mean re-unifying north America by force of arms—not that many shots will be fired in anger. The only realistic response Ottawa could make to a US invasion is unconditional surrender. Beyond the Queensway, I expect US soldiers to be greeted as liberators.

(The French and the Indians will throw a tantrum, but that’s all they will able to manage by way of resistance.)

The people who bankroll pipeline opponents are only Americans when it’s convenient for them. They wouldn’t dream of paying US taxes—much less picking up a gun and fighting for America on a battlefield.

    1. Have you looked at EIA data recently? The US oil patch has been doing a lot of gaining the last few years …
      https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MCREXUS2&f=M
      https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=WCRFPUS2&f=W

Not many complaints about this from so-called “environmental” groups, or even Democrats. Funny that, isn’t it?

Canada is the number 1 export market for US oil (400 – 500,000 bbl/day)…
      https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/PET_MOVE_EXPC_A_EPC0_EEX_MBBLPD_M.htm

That’s about $25,000,000/day, every day, that Canada spends to *import* oil, just from the US.
