I Want A New Country

Scheer climate plan would encompass more big polluters, require investments as penalty

A portion of Scheer’s plan, obtained by CBC News, would compel facilities that produce 40 kilotonnes of emissions or more per year to invest in green tech. The Trudeau government’s current rules impose emission caps on firms that emit more than 50 kilotonnes per year.

Scheer will outline his party’s much-anticipated environmental policy at a speech in Quebec on Wednesday. The Liberals have criticized him for taking such a long time to release a climate plan; Scheer was elected leader of the Conservative Party in May 2017. […]

In 2017, the 1,622 facilities monitored by Environment Canada’s GHG Reporting Program accounted for 292 megatonnes of emissions — 41 per cent of Canada’s total, according to Environment Canada. The oil and gas sector was responsible for more than a third of those emissions.

Mining and oil and gas have been the only sectors to increase emissions since 2005.

Coulda had Max.

  1. Come on Kate – if max had won the nomination he would lose the General. And I say that having voted for him and known him for about fifteen years.

It was his inflexibility and lack of moderation that cost him the nomination and it is also that which would have list the CPC the election. And it’s why his party is barely 1 percent in the polls.

    1. Don’t care. Still voting for Max. I don’t vote for Liberals. Ever. But what I hate even more than Liberals and Dippers are slimy, turncoat lying, weasly, cowardly, spineless, dickless conservatives like Clark, Mulroney, and especially the Smiling Idiot Scheer. Whether Harper was Conservative is a matter for debate. Harper had that same stupid, insipid, fake, insincere smile as Scheer.

      1. “True” conservatives will only vote for the candidate that gives them everything the “true” conservative wants.

The left will compromise and vote for people who only give them one or two things they want. But they keep nibbling away and over time you see the result.

Meanwhile the “true” conservatives get all the policies they hate the most.

        1. Yeah, Joe, how epic “intelligent” of you. Vote for Scheer, to get ZERO THINGS YOU WANT, but that is better than voting for Max ….

The simple raw truth of it is: it is abundantly clear that Scheer will advance zero conservative principles. Government will not get smaller. No spending will be cut. No government staff will be fired. No programs will be ended. The CBC will not be burned to the ground along with all living relatives of anyone who has ever worked there. We will get all the same we currently have under Scheer, without any changes at all, if we all followed your bald face obvious lie advice to “vote conservative to get one or two things you want”.

If anything was going to be different under Scheer, he would have attacked Trudeau on at least one issue by now. Scheer would have made a stand for something. He would be on a hill that he was unwilling to leave. But he has not. The lack of policy, the lack of anything resembling opposition, has demonstrated to me that there is no difference between Andrew Scheer and Trudeau.

          1. Well, Scheer uses plastic drink bottles rather than paper water socks.
            But you are bang on.

          2. Absolutely bang on. Perfect example being..?? Right here at SDA. Why have we not seen the CPC posting their Policy and attempting to engage us.? Same with them blasting-then not allowing the Rebel to report on their conference last year. Because in the Dairy Queens eyes, we collectively are Alt Right Extremists – White Supremists – Racists – NAZI’s”.

Says Volumes about where that gutless wanker stands to me. I too will VOTE for MAX, as will my wife and my 2 Adult children. Tired of holding my nose.

If that splits the vote.?? I dont give a RATS ASS.
If that allows PM Dipshit another 4.5 years.?? PERFECT. Watch as Canada Disintegrates in a freaking heartbeat. The rest of the country can wallow in his vacuous magnificence.

I too, want a new country.

          3. What if Scheer says in no uncertain terms he will build a pipeline to unite western crude with eastern refineries, would you vote for him then. It would seem things would change given Dustbin’s confirmation of no on that.

“Scheer vowed to scrap those bills along with the federal carbon tax, and floated a new policy proposal — a dedicated, coast-to-coast right-of-way specifically set aside for energy infrastructure projects like pipelines and new hydroelectric projects.”

He said with global demand for oil poised to increase in the coming years (he cited OECD projections that put “peak oil” demand at 2030 at the earliest), Canada should position itself as a global energy superpower, given its considerable natural wealth.”

“With a single corridor, we could minimize environmental impacts, lower the costs of environmental assessments, increase certainty for investors and, most importantly, get these critical projects done,” he said.”

“The fact is, Canada has more than enough oil, not only to displace imports from the aforementioned rogue states but to put an end to all foreign oil imports once and for all.”

            https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/scheer-economic-address-energy-corridor-1.5138649

BTW, despite Grits latest announcement of announcements, they haven’t laid an inch of pipeline.
Trans Mountain is a feint to get re-elected. Just because Trudeau lies doesn’t mean all leaders do.
Vote your conscience my friend, at 1%, Bernier is unelectable and no threat whatsoever of hurting Scheer.
Trudeau has a much bigger problem of Greens and Dippers eating his lunch. Scheer could win by default.
But he won’t because US style smears are headed our way, with Grits taking credit for Canadians’ hard work.
Real conservatives stick to their “principles,” and lose; real statists, having no principles, slime and slur to victory.

          4. Hi Shamrock
I won’t vote for Scheer based on what he says he will do because the Smiling Idiot backtracks, delays and reverses everything he says. He cannot be trusted. He’s a 2 faced putz, a passive aggresive coward, a lying weasel, a vacuous empty suit, a moron.

          5. Good God, man, the difference will be in who gets into the cabinet. Who gets the portfolios. Scheer is only part of the Conservative party, not all of it. There are some fine conservatives who are waiting in the wings. Or do you prefer McKenna and Freeland running the show along with the idiot Turdoo.

          6. “…a dedicated, coast-to-coast right-of-way specifically set aside for energy infrastructure projects like pipelines and new hydroelectric projects…”

Scheer can “dedicate” all the fkn Right of ways he wants.

Fact of the matter is that the Montreal/Quebec city Docks are run by the MAFIA – Said org collects many Multi Millions of baksheesh from Nigerian, Saudi, Venezuelan Oil Producers to ensure their OIL gets to OUR markets. Said Multi Millions is the Lubricant spread throughout Quebecs Political Hierarchy….all the way to the Premiers Office to ensure that does in fact happen.

Fat chance you’ll ever see a Pipeline through Quebec carrying Alberta/Saskatchean Oil. AINT ever gonna happen. Money talks and Bullshit walks as it ever was.

We need to SEPARATE – PERIOD. Nothing whatsoever will change with the Dairy Queen in the PMO.

          7. Kevin at 10:46 AM

Is Max going to get rid of the CBC? I couldn’t find it on the People’s Party website election platform. Perhaps it’s hidden?

        2. Perhaps I am not a true conservative. Perhaps I more of a survivalist. I will not vote for a losing proposition on principal. Similarly, I don’t let my contempt for Hollywood and Netflix prevent me from enjoying some of the great movies and series that are available. Why should I deny myself pleasure on a principle that only I will be aware of and that I can decide about. No one tells me how to feel or think. I have enough of a wrestling match with myself over that stuff.

I will hold my nose and vote for Scheer, because he is the lesser of the evils that we must choose from. Plus, I very much want those egotistical idiots Cath McKenna and Christia Freeland out of power. I want to see the idiot, Justin Turdoo resign rather put up with such a demotion. The off to obscurity with his unicorns and East Indian costumes.

“Those are my principles and if you don’t like them, well … I have others” – Groucho Marx

          1. I have found the voting for the lesser of two evils still leaves one with evil in control.

        3. Nanaimo recently had a federal by election where the Green candidate won, but the conservative candidate came in a surprising, second.

If he had Max’s party’s vote he may have won.

That is why I will vote for the conservative party. Turdoo must go at all costs. That means hold your nose and vote for the party that actually can win.

          1. Duke: EXACTLY!! If you want to change the gov’t hold your nose and vote for the party that actually can win! VOTE OUT THE LIE-BRALS…VOTE OUT TRUDEAU…VOTE OUT THE LIE-BRALS…VOTE OUT TRUDEAU!!

          2. That is the thing. What exactly are are you hoping to gain?

In my opinion, simply not being Trudeau, IS NOT ENOUGH. There is a tree in my back yard that is not Trudeau. Do you want that tree to be your PM?

There has to be some visible sign that anything, even a single thing would change.

I am not convinced that Scheer WOULD change the cabinet even. Do you have any evidence that McKenna would not simply remain the Barbie minister?

      2. “…Harper had that same stupid, insipid, fake, insincere smile as Scheer.”

You are mistaken. Harper’s smile may well have been insincere, because of course he wasn’t happy that so many things couldn’t be put right, even though he had degraded himself by running for office, the country was already too far gone.

But Scheer’s stupid, insipid, fake smile is completely sincere.

    2. “his inflexibility and lack of moderation”
It was once called ‘standing for something’ but unfortunately your comment is an accurate assessment.
If you want a glimpse of where standing for something leads a politician all you have to do is read Bernier’s Twitter feed or check out his polling numbers.
This country is full of fn idiots.

      1. You pick your spots and you work to change public opinion over time on the things you can’t win on today. That’s what Harper is doing and it’s what President Trump is largely doing.

        1. Harper wanted to make real changes but didn’t want to upset anyone, so he took years and years tiptoeing around and didn’t accomplish half of what he could have while waiting for public support to warm. Trump makes no bones about where he stands on any major issue… he does not wait for public opinion to warm to his views. He puts the unvarnished truth out there and then hammers away everyday on the major issues through the media, social media, etc.

Trump is getting his goals accomplished, and his popularity continues to slowly rise.

Scheer is afraid to take a conservative stand on anything – he’s a spineless puppet and I don’t know any of my conservative friends that have any faith in him. The general consensus is ‘hold your nose and vote for him’ to remove Trudeau. No thanks – I’ll be voting for Max who is not afraid to say where he stands.

          1. Do cite polls of his popularity rising.

And trump is not a conservative. He is a compromiser of the first order.

          2. I can site a lot of polls that guaranteed Hillary would be president. Do you want to see than Gord Tulk?

Poor deluded Gord Tulk, still believing in fairy tails from pollsters.

    3. well bord Gulk, again you are wrong, as usually you are. Max lost because scheep liberaled his way in. Max would have lost the election just like Ford lost the election. Maybe you should give yer head a shake and see if those loose screws will tighten up a little

    4. Max is a leader without a party and the Conservatives are a party without a leader. A Scheer government will be one big apology for not being as green and socialist as the cultural mainstream and their parties of choice, constantly on the defensive, and under siege by the media. They will accomplish little except keeping the seats warm for the return of the natural governing party. In Canada, that’s as good as it gets. A Scheer government will only exist thanks to a disaffected mushy middle (leaving the Liberals) of the electorate who believe in compromise in all things and are responsible for virtually every evil we live with. A Scheer government will exist only if the pulled-in disaffected mushy middle exceed the loss of the base to Max. A Scheer government will exist only if the NDP and Greens pick up Liberal votes. I can’t wait till the election – NOT!

      1. “Max is a leader without a party and the Conservatives are a party without a leader”

There are few truths in the world, this one is one of those.
There is a saying, head you lose/tail I win.
This is the state of population of this country.

The recent immigrants, from 3 years ago and before, being kept on the free stuff can’t believe their luck.
Who do you think are they going to vote for?
        Who’ you gonna call?

      2. “Max is a leader without a party and the Conservatives are a party without a leader.”

John, you really nailed with that phrase. Bang on. The Paris Accord sign on was Scheer’s first big submissive bow to the Liberal machine, and it just goes on and on.

        Lev, exactly!

We have a major dilemma folks.

    5. Your comments are non sequiturs, Gord vis a vis how Canada can best rescue itself from sliding further towards northern s***hole status.

And I love your smack at Max but absolute silence on Andy Sche(m)ers deficiencies, starting with his, uh, utter faithlessness to the sentiments of conservative voters.

The only way to get rid of this garbage from the conservatives is to give them a good strong beating at the polls, not by staying home, but by voting PPC. If they lose this next election at the hands of PPC voters, they would show, come next general election, a strange new respect for conservative principles by changing their platform, and will start walking away from me too -ism.

It is a fantasy to believe that the current conservative fraudsters would reverse anything that Trudeau has done in any important way if they somehow form the next government, if they are elected on the current me- too platform. Let them lose; another premiership by Trudles can’t make matters worse, and will finish them as the natural governing Party of Canada in the eyes of the voters. If Max could get 5000 votes in every conservative riding, the Conservative swine would trip over themselvesgetting those votes back.

      1. Reality is hardly non-sequitur. Gord gets it. A backbiting centre-right is easy pickings for the statists and mediocracy.
Conservatives eat their own, as the old saying goes; nothing else seems to taste good to them.

        1. Oh come on people!

          Politics anyone?

I too wish the Conservative Party was Conservative. But really.

69% of the Canadian electorate voted last time for left wing parties. And probably half of the Conservative 31% of voters are wobbly.

Your elementary school children would call it basic common sense to get as close to the Liberal Party as possible in policy in order to increase your vote. Everyone else is supposedly to the left of the Libranos except Max. With no apparent sign yet of Max Mania, Scheer would have to be Joe Clark stupid to do anything but exactly what they are doing.

Get them elected, get Max elected in Quebec. Then put the common sense boots to them.
I’m not sure me or the country can withstand another term by Canadian women’s biggest embarrassment.

          1. Canucked gets it. A real conservative government will never be elected in Canada Federally. Never. They may make gains in Quebec and Alberta, but the country is just too left. Real conservatives promise fiscal responsibility, that means less handouts to every group with their hands out. The electorate doesn’t want to hear that. Human nature leans toward what will you give me if I vote for you? So a party must lean left to gain power, once there they can shift towards the right. Will they? Remains to be seen. One can only hope that Scheer’s constituents will hold his feet to the fire. A Scheer / Bernier minority would be a best case scenario.

The Liberals have assembled the greatest propaganda machine on earth. Social media, news networks, talking heads all trumpeting that conservatism is evil – tell a lie often enough and eventually even you will come to believe it. The electorate as a whole lacks the critical thinking skills to differentiate between what is truth, and what is not, The people of Canada are being herded over a cliff by the propaganda machine not unlike like the buffalo of another age, and the propaganda machine has very deep pockets.

I’ve never seen this country more balkanized. The levels of corruption in government agencies, the judiciary and the government caucus itself is at an all time high, that comes from a complete lack of accountability for those running the circus.

Will Canada survive? Remains to be seen. Canadians seem to be content to accept as much punishment and abuse as the government is willing to dish out – if only wingeing about it on the internet would have some effect…..but I suppose we can still dream.

      1. Malcolm’s video is short on facts, and full of lies. His presentation is Jesuitical, mixing a few truths with outright lies, but said with confidence.

        The man is a fraud.

    6. I understand your point, and empathise with it. We’ve already tried it. Harper was supposed to be the conservative voice, the west was supposed to be in, sanity was supposed to return.

What happened. Bugger all. The cons spent all their damn time trying to appease a baying mob that wants nothing more than their destruction.

Harper was more conservative than Scheer. Now you tell me to give Scheer a shot. Why? That would be the insane thing to do. Repeatedly making the same mistake over and over again is NOT a good strategy.

I hope turdo wins, in fact, I will probably vote for him. Why? There is no fixing stupid. Can’t be done. All you can do is ram its head into a wall. UDI is that wall. Let’s ram that liberal head into it as hard and fast as we can.

All voting for scheer will do is slow down the impact speed, maybe another decade or 2, by that time the west will be crawling with liberal parasites. This is not the path to freedom.

      1. You can give up all you want.

        I’m voting for conservative ideals.

Not ever voting Globalist Leftists LibCons ever again.

I hope and believe you are doing wrong instead of what is right.

I’d rather believe in hope and real change in 2019 and not your way in 2029 with the breakup of our home.

        1. The thieves are in your kitchen, the rapists in your bedroom, and the drunkards in your car.
Those conservative ideals are busy smoking pot across the road, telling you that you are too right wing to matter.

This is not hope. Hope is to push for UDI. That’s my hope.

          1. Preach it brother! AMEN!

Oh, and the trannies are in your bathroom, Zed and the Gimp are in your basement, …

      2. The west is already crawling with liberal parasites. Alberta had an NDP government and Calgary and Edmonton are both very left wing. UDI if that’s what you want, but don’t expect it to change much in Alberta. You could easily end up with Nenshi, or someone like him as your president.

    7. I left Conservative party because i could not apologize for being conservative and being among those who are afraid to stand up and believe in something . CPC also has also that weird vibe of mix between senile neurotic need to stay low and young inauthentic overthinking apparatchiks.

    8. At this point I’m hoping Trudeau (or Elizabeth May or Singh) wins. (If it isn’t Max) Let one of them drive this country over the cliff.

Looking at what all the other so called conservatives bring to the table it’s time for actual conservatives to form their own country.

I’m voting my conscience and voting for Max. Let the chips fall where they may. At least I can say I voted for the man that is an actual conservative. Everyone else will have to live with voting for one of the many globalists trying to turn Canada into a UN province.

        1. Your a fool for being racist.

You don’t judge a whole group for everyone is an individual.

So since Alberta had a NDP government that makes all albertans unelectable as Prime Minister then since I am a conservative.

          No it does not

So why attack Max as a Québécois instead of as an individual or is it because your afraid of what Max can actually accomplish so you try to convince people using your foolish racists slurs.

      1. I’m with you John….for identical reasons.
Be goddamend if I’m gonna hold my nose for Mr “cardboard conservative”.

A Trudeau win.? Would be a HUGE win for the West.
MLA’s in Ab-Sask will have ZERO Choice but to frame the Clear Question and put it to a Vote.
        Long freaking overdue….by 39 Years.

    9. Reality is difficult for so many Canadians. Liberal lite is still liberal and still socialist. That Sheer was more liberal than Max is telling. It is telling me not to vote for the Sheer one because he is just as he appears, sheer.

    10. So if voting for Conservatives isn’t going to change anything, except maybe we drive off the cliff in fourth gear instead of fifth, why bother? I used to vote for fringe parties I knew would never win because if the choice was Mulroney or Cretien, there really was no choice.

You have to hit rock bottom before you can begin to recover. Maybe I’ll vote Liberal and help make the collapse come sooner.

  2. Either the Conservative Party of Canada is the most important thing, or something else is. I think most people have already made their choice.

No principle, no idea, no policy, that does not pander to a voter pool that the CBC says is important, is worth considering.

There are no voter pools west of Ontario or outside the loser mainland of BC, that are big enough to matter.

  3. The conservative party is just controlled opposition. Scheers is just another globalist.

I’m voting for Max or no one at all.

    Go Max go!

      1. No. He is not voting for the LPC. He is voting for a conserative. You, on the other hand, are voting for the LPC seat warmers. He is voting on principles. You have only one principle, win at any cost, which is the same as having none.

  4. Liberal red. Red Tories, blue Tories, NDP orange and the greens. In reality Canada is just some gross colour of mashed up Plasticine purple. How much difference is there really? They all take too much in taxes. They all want more government. They all increase regulations, rules and restrictions on liberty. And if there is any difference its fractional. It simply does not matter.

    1. The Liberals vs the Tories.

      The Globetrotters vs the Generals.

      Different game same game plan.

      Canada, the Fake Country.

  5. Think about this list.
The morons disguised as the Liberal Party of Canada want you to pay $100/tonne carbon tax in a few years to give munney to the countries that have average temps of 20C per year.
These nations also have year round access to the cheapest power around, solar power.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_average_yearly_temperature

These Liberals are so bloody ignorant of reality, it defies the imagination, as does their re-election.

The West needs a new country.

    1. And I hope that the West will soon get their new country. Then I would have a place to move to to escape the political insanity.

      1. I doubt that their immigration system would allow an influx of “real” Canadians. Now let’s analyse what I have just said.

      2. You’re dreaming in technicolor to think that western separation is even close to fruition, approaching critical political mass, or even if it happened, wouldn’t be an economic blood bath. That’s reality folks, despite separation fantasies.

  6. Are we being treated to a case of smoke and mirrors? A carbon tax is a carbon tax and one way or another it will increase costs to the consumer on all the basic necessities of life.

The “Axe the Tax” group in Ontario seem to think that Doug Ford is pulling a fast one on the people of Ontario and imposing a ‘carbon copy’ of Trudeau’s carbon tax. A tax is a tax, no matter who pays and we know who ultimately pays.

    https://www.axethecarbontax.ca/doug-ford?utm_term=0_51987ebace-deba1bafd1-38333711

All in all it is still based on a AGW fraud signed in Paris and designed to fulfill Maurice Strong’s dream to de-industrialize the west and thus force energy companies to move investment and resources to areas of the world where their investment is wanted.

    1. Liberals negotiate like they balance budgets and keep promises.

The Liberal Party of Canada is trading your First World standard of living to the Third World for their standard of living. Even up.

Having to spend his final years hiding from Interpol in China, Liberal Major Domo Maurice Strong long dreamt of making Canadians pay. That is what Liberals do. He got his dream. Canadians will pay dearly.

Within 10 years Canadians will spend every day making the Heat or Eat Decision.

Remember to thank the Liberal Party.

    2. EXACTLY..!!…..and depopulate the planet to their preferred “sustainable” level of <1Billion Slaves…all of who will be Indoctrinated into Islamic ideology or die.

      The end goal.

    3. Yes, Ken (Kulak).

We impose more and more restrictions and taxes on the oil companies and the people of Canada and meanwhile…

…the United States is energy independant and is lowering taxes.

A so-called “conservative” should understand this.

      What a weak leader.

He makes me miss Joke Lark.

  7. Related to the thread topic.

Rick Bell, writing in the Calgary Sun, seems to think it is too early to count your shovels in the ground chickens. Even Jason Kenney is cautious in his euphoria, “Premier Kenney says this day is not a victory to celebrate, just another step along the way.”

“Alberta, those pipeline chickens aren’t hatched”

    https://calgarysun.com/opinion/columnists/bell-alberta-those-pipeline-chickens-arent-hatched

There is no increased oil flow volume yet and it is a long way off and the opponents will pull out all the stops to sabotage the construction.

    1. The shovels may get in the ground, but only if the Lieberals have a backstop in place to keep oil from getting loaded on ships. That may be the SCC, banning tankers on the W coast, or putting the Indians on the warpath.

The only way oil will get loaded is to elect Bernier who has the common sense to realize that the country needs money desperately if it is to survive.

    2. The BC government and anti-oilsands activists have a number of lawsuits ready to go.

The pipeline will not be built any time soon.

The moment BC files another lawsuit, Kenney should slap a huge carbon tax on all oil leaving the province going to any place with a carbon tax.

      1. So punish fellow Canadians who are being forced to pay a carbon tax that the Liberals have imposed on us against our will.

        That’s a great plan

        Not

Just do it to BC they agreed to their own provincial carbon tax and leave the ones being forced by Trudeau to pay a tax we never wanted alone.

        1. Can’t do it to BC alone. The courts would declare it unconstitutional.

Liberals, largely elected by Ontario and Quebec citizens voted in Trudeau. These Liberals brought in the no more pipelines bill (C69). The same with the no tankers bill for the BC coast north of Vancouver (C48).

These same Liberals killed the Northern Gateway and Energy East pipeline projects.

The same Liberals, supported by provinces do not want to change the equalization formula.

I say time for Alberta to charge an export tax on all hydrocarbons leaving the province.

          1. Never going to happen since the CPC and Center left conservatives will never do it they are so worried about offending the Globalist Left vote that they become exactly like them and they forgot to water their very own conservative roots.

            That’s just plain Scheer stupid.

Max tried to change them but was booted out so he had to quit.

So remember CPC members your party created the PPC via the milk cartel and votes that appeared suddenly and then were destroyed so that karma will make Scheer choke on that carton of milk.

    3. Yes, Ken. And I think that expanding/building-new pipelines no longer guarantees any kind of oil boom for Alberta. A lot of investment capital has long-fled that province and the Liberals/Eco-fascists have many options still open to them to keep it out.

To my mind, understanding the progressive/globalist threat and their wielding of the global warming scam as an ideological ‘weapon of societal mass destruction’ is a cornerstone of calling yourself a Conservative in 2019. Scheer strikes me as an opportunist who has yet to stick his neck out for ANY conservative value, he is a weak leader.

Like many others here, I plan on supporting Max….. simply because my conscience won’t allow me to do anything else.

      1. A “Clear Conscience”.
Precisely why I cannot vote for the wanker my self.
He is NO Conservative by any stretch of anyones Imagination….and will bend the knee facing Eastward to the delight of Quebec and the CBC.

  8. ah, the green thing. found this on a facebook page. (looks like an urban legend, but the point is ALL valid)

Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the much older lady that she should bring her own grocery bags, because plastic bags are not good for the environment.
The woman apologized to the young girl and explained, “We didn’t have this ‘green thing’ back in my earlier days.”
The young clerk responded, “That’s our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations.”
The older lady said that she was right — our generation didn’t have the “green thing” in its day. The older lady went on to explain:
Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled. But we didn’t have the “green thing” back in our day.
Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags that we reused for numerous things. Most memorable besides household garbage bags was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our school books. This was to ensure that public property (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribblings. Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags. But, too bad we didn’t do the “green thing” back then.
We walked up stairs because we didn’t have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn’t climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.
But she was right. We didn’t have the “green thing” in our day.
Back then we washed the baby’s diapers because we didn’t have the throw away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts. Wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.
But that young lady is right; we didn’t have the “green thing” back in our day.
Back then we had one TV, or radio, in the house — not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen we blended and stirred by hand because we didn’t have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn’t fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn’t need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.
But she’s right; we didn’t have the “green thing” back then.
We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blade in a r azor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.
But we didn’t have the “green thing” back then.
Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service in the family’s $45,000 SUV or van, which cost what a whole house did before the”green thing.” We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn’t need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.
But isn’t it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn’t have the “green thing” back then?
Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smart ass young person.
We don’t like being old in the first place, so it doesn’t take much to piss us off… Especially from a tattooed, multiple pierced smartass who can’t make change without the cash register telling them how much.

    1. All true. I grew up in a family of 5, youngest of 3 boys. I recall on garbage day carrying out 1 small grocery bag of garbage every week. Blue boxes were yet to be invented. Mom made everything from scratch, there was almost no packaging to carry out. We kept a compost heap in the backyard – used year round. Every spring we would dig a new hole, cover the old compost with a bag or 2 of lime, and cover that with the dirt from the new compost hole. Made for great growing.

  9. MAYBE PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN A LITTLE HISTORY.

Everything that happens on Earth happens in cycles. The only straight line is in man’s mind. There are no straight lines in nature. Everything is nature is formed by spinning spheres, or waves.

Spinning spheres emit waves. We know this happens with the planets; they emit electromagnetic wave. Waves are everywhere in the Earth’s atmophere (and in outer space) and waves create cycles. Cycles affect just about every aspects of our lives on Earth.

There are lots of different cycles of different lengths. However, the major cycles tend to be somewhat harmonic (they’re divisible by three, to find the next higher or lower cycle). Major cycles are 7, 19, 57, 172, 515, and 1030.

Stephen Puetz wrote a book on the probabilities of cycles, tracking cycles back through the beginning of time. It’s called the Unified Cycle theory and you’ll find it in my recommended book list.

Below is the civilization chart I created (featured in the video). The data comes from the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration—from the Greenland Ice Core Research project ending in 1992. Ice cores are an extremely accurate method of determining temperature back through the centuries.

    Civilzation-chart

You can see the large temperature peaks every 1030 years – the red arrows. These extremely warm and wet periods supported bountiful crops and major societies grew to the height of their power.

The correlation of warm and wet climate with the rise of major civilizations is striking. When the climate turns warm and wet for long periods, the world’s greatest empires have emerged – Egypt, Greece, Rome, the Mayans, the Vikings, and so on.

When the climate grew colder, these great cultures fell into ruin. Bad things start to happen when climate turns cold and rainfall stops. Rome burned as it got colder. Hadrian’s Wall was built to keep out invaders at the bottom of a cold spell. Social mood always turns negative with colder climate. And that brings about riots and wars.

Cold periods often get labeled as dark ages, because there is little advancement of living standards.

So here we are at the top of the Modern Warm Period. Unless this time is different, the Earth is going to get a lot colder and dryer. Most likely for several hundred years. We’ll also see a major financial collapse. Yes, that’s one of the great features of the 172 year cycle. It’s happened throughout history, like clockwork.

Let’s look at climate cycles over the past eleven thousand years … the big picture:

    Climate-Timeline-web

In the chart above, you can see that we came out of the glacial period about ten thousand years ago.And then we had these up and down periods of warm and cold … cycles. It’s like a giant sine wave. Temperature moves up and down over time … on a fairly predictable schedule.

Today, we’re in what’s called the Modern Warm Period. And there’s climate mania!—Even though it’s been warmer on Earth many times before and in fact the trendline shows it’s gradually getting cooler, because the Sun is cooling. Nobody disputes that—well, no astrophysicists, at any rate.

The next cold period is signified by the dark blue blob right below Climate Mania. It’s starting now. But, how do we know all this?

    DrWheeler-and-the-Big-BookCU-web

In the early to mid 1900s, Dr. Raymond Wheeler, with a team of 200 researchers analyzed climate back 20 centuries to 600 BC. He used tree rings and sunspot records to plot both temperature and rainfall over that entire period.

He identified major climate cycles of 100, 170, 515, and 1030 years and predicted extreme weather at about the year 2000, followed by a turn colder and a long-term drought … and sure enough, that’s what seems to be happening. You can find his drought clock here. My video on Dr. Wheeler and his seasons is here.

The picture above shows Dr. Wheeler with “The Big Book,” over 2000 pages of all his data on climate cycles in which he correlated major events throughout history. He’s shown how climate cycles repeat with event patterns over and over again. The Big Book exists in the archives of Baruch College, in New York City.

    big-book-today

Above is a picture of The Big Book today. I tracked it down in New York City recently.

    In Dr. Wheeler’s own words:

The divisions of history long ago observed by historians—ancient, Medieval, and modern—are more than divisions of history. They are long climatic cycles.
The six century BC, the first AD, the fifth AD, and the 10th and 15th were all natural turning point in history, marked each time by the decline and fall of civilizations the world over and the birth of a new era. In each case these centuries terminated 500 year cycles in long range weather trends. Each was an exceptionally cold period in history..
The six century BC, the fifth AD, and the 15thmarked a end of the still longer cycle, on the order of 1000 years. These centuries were characterized by exceptionally profound reorganizations and revolutions in the civilizations of the world.
Current events show that another world convulsion is occurring second only to (1) the emergence of rational thought in the sixth century BC, (2) the fall of Rome and other ancient civilizations in the 5th-century and the beginning of the medieval world based on feudalism, and (3) the final collapse of the Middle Ages in the 15th-century. The current convulsion is comparable to the birth of Christianity in the first century and to the birth of the modern nation as a fuedal principality in the ninth and 10 centuries.
All of these reorganizations of society were marked by spurts in the evolution of democratic institutions.
In fact, the global temperatures have gone sideways since 1998 and the recent drop in solar activity is warning of much colder times ahead.

The head of the International Space Station, a Russian astrophysicist, with a name I can’t pronounce, has publicly predicted a mini ice age.

    Next 25 years

The above chart shows the projection of solar maximums over the next 50 years or so. These cycles happen every 11.2 years and fluctuate in terms of their intensity over decades. The most recent solar cycle has been far less intense that previous ones and because the sun is responsible for our warmth, less intensity results in colder temperatures on Earth, just as it has during similar periods (the Little Ice Age, for example, on the “civilizations chart” above.

The Sun and the Planets are the main drivers of climate change on our tiny, little planet—we know that. And we can’t change Mother Nature.

Science tells us it’s going to get colder. If history is are guide, the colder climate will last for hundreds of years.

You see, history repeats … over and over again. So if you want to know the future, you look at the past.

    1. none of this matters.
      none of it.
it all falls by the wayside, kicked to the curb and buried under billions of lies.
and out of the dung heap of lies emerges the ‘correct’ version. the ‘real’ ‘truth’.
surrounded by BILLIONS and TRILLIONS of dollars chasing a myth.
watched by a populace turned into nodding kewpie doll dashboard sycophants.

‘follow the money’. ya, but ya can NEVER catch up to it and grab some.
it’s ALL earmarked for the power cystem boyz. the notion of grabbing some is their ‘joke’, entertainment conjured due to their boredom and a natural humahn lilt to BULLY, matching whatever level of powah.

and the swirling masses all join in the pep rally orchestrated following proven nazi tactics including ‘create a crisis’.
      Im waiting for the newly refurbished parliament bldgs to burst into flame due to . . . . . . to . . . . . . . . .
      ‘sparks from a welding torch’.

      Im channeling watcher here.

      1. Herd madness follows cycles too.
We are somewhere close to peak madness on this cycle, but there is hope.
We are not yet at the level of past “civilizations” where we can rip the beating hearts out of our comrades and dedicate their death to some God.
But I am sure if we disarm all the independent people we will get there soon enough.

        1. ya but, we still kill millions of unborn children. ripping hearts out is trivial compared to the reality.

        2. “We are not yet at the level of past “civilizations” where we can rip the beating hearts out of our comrades and dedicate their death to some God.”

We are going there fast. Killing babies, not a problem for quite some, even after birth. Bumping off seniors and other defective, not a problem any long.

“But I am sure if we disarm all the independent people we will get there soon enough.”

Disarming, also occurring as we speak. Just wait and see what happens if PM Little Potato gets re-elected.

Read, “The Age of Nihilism”, Curtis R. McManus, or his “Clio’s Bastards”; or David Horowitz, “Dark Agenda” and “The Black Book of the American Left”. This is where we are going.

Some of this comment may well be off topic, but the issues and personalities we are debating in this thread will lead exactly to the end result of which McManus and Horowitz are speaking and predicting. Other writers, such as Roger Scruton, Sharyl Attkisson, Kurt Schlichter, and many others warn of the direction we are going.

What a time in Canada’s history to have a feckless main opposition leader.

  10. https://phys.org/news/2019-06-europe-climate-civil-disobedience-movement.html

    “climate civil disobedience” …

So you can blockade coal mines, any development whatsoever, leave megatons of garbage at random sites that you don’t have to pay to cleanup in any away …

And Moe has us paying a carbon tax, to resist the carbon tax.

Like Scheer, Moe serves only himself, and the party. Voters, principles, the country, the electoral district, nothing else matters except telling enough lies to convince enough morons to reelect you.

    1. …and here I was hoping that “climate civil disobedience” consisted of rolling coal on envirokooks with your 7.3. Oh well.

      1. When you decide to go do that Ed….? .Ring me up, I’ll join ya with my Duramax.! And I’m thinking I could likely get at least 3-400 others from the Forums to join us as well..

        THAT would be such Fun…LMAO..!!

    2. Kevin, I look forward to all the fools trying to eat and keep warm without oil, coal, gas, etc. Idiots abound and Canada has no shortage of them.

  11. Even the politicians in Canada who call themselves Conservative are indeed lying filthy socialist coward weenies like this smiling twerp Scheer. Canada as a wealth creating inspirational nation is doomed and I cannot wait for it’s ultimate demise.

    1. The only trick will be surviving the collapse. I think I need to learn how to can food, and the proper construction of a root cellar. Probably also need a generous stock pile of the only two precious metals that will matter; lead and brass.

    1. Double posting Max from another thread?

      Well so will I ; ). WTF

      Don Martin
      @DonMartinCTV

The golden age of lobbying is now. The commissioner’s report shows lobbyist registrations have almost doubled since the Liberals came to power, monthly lobbying gone from 12,000 in 2014 to 27,500 today. There’s a lot of money in arm-twisting.

      (link: https://lobbycanada.gc.ca/eic/site/012.nsf/eng/01489.html#toc-1) lobbycanada.gc.ca/eic/site/012.n

  12. As much as I dislike Scheer I don’t think Max’s party has any chance of winning, so I’m still going to have to begrudgingly vote conservative, at least with the Conservative party in power the rest of the Conservatives can reign Scheer in and won’t have to worry about appealing to the “Liberal” voters anymore

    1. Har, har, har! Reign Scheer in! Who, the members who made him their leader? Har, har!!! Been watching politics long?

  13. the world as become to complex for the average human mind to comprehend and deal with. And most politicians are agenda driven, which tends to have their thinking collide with a reality they don’t understand.

  14. China – 28.12% – NO carbon tax
    U.S – 15.99% – NO carbon tax
    India – 6.24% – NO carbon tax
Russia- 4.53% – NO carbon tax
    Japan – 3.67% – NO carbon tax
    Germany-2.23% – NO carbon tax
    Korea – 1.75% – NO carbon tax
    Iran – 1.72% – NO carbon tax
CANADA -1.71% – CARBON TAX YES
Saudi Arabia – 1.56% – NO carbon tax

Thank your Liberal Party of Canada.

  15. Gonna reiterate the following
    It matters not damn.
AGW is a global scam to empower the UN to be the world government.
    Dead stop.
The issue could be anything as long as they can scream crisis and use it to employ their solution.
    But take heart.
History seems to repeat but does so at exponential rates.
When Rome fell it took about a thousand years for the west to come out of that dark age.
About 500 years after the Renaissance revival took place.
Then about 250 years later, the Enlightenment age, followed not long after by the Industrial age.
We are in the cycle again, but at this rate we may witness the charlatans getting caught in their own rhetoric just as eventually Robespierre got caught in his.
There seems to bea great deal of effort to define this election on a great environmental disaster about to befall us when in truth its the same question as asked in 2016, and Brexit.
Do you want to continue on the path to a one world government, or do you believe in the inalienable rights of the individual?
The path to one world government by a bunch of bureaucrats is corrupt able and unsustainable. And at the current exponential rate of history will collapse in one lifetime.
To digress a bit on the inalienable right bit.
The reason its an undeniable truth or right that you have freedom of belief is that no one but God has the ability to know what you are thinking. To believe otherwise is just not true, that makes that truth inalienable.

Now go stock up on tar and feathers.

  16. Unlike Trump, Andrew Scheer will do nothing to affect the culture; I couldn’t be less enthusiastic about a politician.

  17. 98% of Canadians don’t think at all like those of us on this blog. If we could agree on an SDA candidate and run him/her in the strongest Conservative riding in the country we’d lose.

Canadians are as liberal as any country in the world. We’d fit into the EU seamlessly. That and the electoral system guarantees liberal government forever or, until financial collapse. Change then will be inevitable.

        1. I haven’t given up on being a true conservative or on my native land and the only party that supports my ideals is the PPC.

          1. We’re talking politics here not philosophy. The politics of any country reflects the philosophy of the citizens. Hence liberal government in Canada.

I too am a hard core conservative/ libertarian. I recognize that I am out of step with politics in the country. No party comes close to my value system.

    1. abtrapper, you are correct and I still post even though we are outnumbered by the terminally stupid. I have given up on some sites, mostly my US sites because of extreme censorship. When SDA gets there I guess I will be gone.

  18. The collapse of technological civil society seems assured,we are not capable of servicing what we have, nevermind building on the gifts our parents gave us.
Canada is in the hands of blubbering children, our parliament being a beautiful example, the media party coming a close second.
Fools and Bandits driving a kleptocracy.
The average Canadian can not afford to raise a family.
So do we huddle in individual bunkers as the barbarians run amuck?
Or do we use our skills to build a new country?
    With defined boundaries.
    A set of agreed conventions.
    Individual rights .
    Freedom of speech and association?

Our children face one ugly future in Confederated Canada, the theft is past 50% with no end in sight, they will be taxed to support their replacements, who will live in the luxury of state support and out breed the tax paying citizen.
    For one pays,the other plays.
Mighty hard to build your own, when over half of your production is taken by force and used to impede your efforts.
Staying attached to the Confederation ,sells these kids down a rathole.
    Who would do that?

And it will be against the laws of Canada for them to protest their state….
    We are so kind.

  19. What I can’t figure out.

I thought my grandfather defeated the Nazis over in Europe.

How the heck did they end up in Ottawa?

    1. The Libranos invited them in after the war. After sending Jews home to Europe to be murdered.

One of them lived to see a granddaughter who would grow up to become Justin Trudeau’s foreign minister. That Chrystia Freeland was ever born—never mind appointed to cabinet—is an insult to justice.

Hardly anybody responsible for the rise of Hitler to power ever answered in any meaningful way for the slaughter of the Six Million, much less of brave Canadian soldiers. Only fall guys went to the gallows.

      1. Chrystia Freeland’s Family Record for Nazi War Profiteering, and Murder of the Cracow Jews

Chrystia Freeland (lead image), appointed last week to be the new Canadian Foreign Minister, claims that her maternal family were the Ukrainian victims of Russian persecution, who fled their home in 1939, after Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin agreed on a non-aggression pact and the division of Poland between Germany and the Soviet Union. She claims her mother was born in a camp for refugees before finding safe haven in Alberta, Canada. Freeland is lying.

        https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2017/01/27/chrystia-freeland-family-record-nazi-war-murder-cracow-jews/

    2. You could add ‘and defeated Soviet communism’ in 1990.

Ask the agents of the Frankfurt School.

  20. This plan actually makes some sense. Industrial emissions (not CO2 but NOx and SO2) are REAL pollution which should be targeted.

Take the 1500 HP Waukesha 7042 natural gas engine – the workhorse of the industry. One hour of run time emits the same NOx (smog) as 400,000 km of a Ford F-150.

The CPC should have an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION plan and not apologize for it. Target actual pollution and people will nod their head quietly and say ‘that makes sense’ vs a carbon tax.

    1. You actually believe that the costs of Scheer’s Climate Plan will not be passed down to us the people?

When I exhale CO2 it is not pollution so why have a Climate Plan on our breathing for that is what it is.

It’s just another way to funnel money back to the UN that Sheer supports for he is a Globalist First.

  21. It’s called the United States of President Donald Trump, Kate. For the first time in decades led by a man who actually takes the side of his people against their enemies, foreign and domestic. And he won’t tolerate a Chinese puppet state on America’s northern border forever.

If we don’t get rid of the Dauphin, the Dairy Queen and the bastards in Bay Street and Hongcouver who thrust them into power, the US Marine Corps will gladly do it for us. The only question is how quickly they will get to it.

(I live a walking distance away from Parliament Hill. I hope to greet American soldiers in Ottawa before PM Freeland gets the satisfaction of re-opening Centre Block.)

    1. I’m a Trump fan myself, but I don’t think he would go that far. However, he doesn’t have that much time left in office even if he wins in 2020 which is a big ask. We have to be realistic. Certainly Trump has dazzled his core supporters. But he probably hasn’t impressed anyone who flipped a coin and voted for him rather than Hillary. So with his election requiring all the breaks available from the Electoral College, he could be in some trouble against anyone who manages to run even a mediocre campaign (as we know the MSM will dutifully frame the election as this person or everlasting doom). And his core of support is among older white voters, surely there has been some attrition in the numbers and that is balanced against the growing flood of new voters coming from the brainwashing of the school systems and illegal immigration which has only slowed rather than ended.

As to invading Canada to rid us of our Chinese puppet government, that sounds great in an informal setting but as a “casus belli” I don’t think it would ever fly, the U.S. congress would never support an invasion of Canada under such mild conditions (for them, not saying it’s mild for us). Hell, they would have invaded Cuba and booted out Castro if there was any appetite for such things. There isn’t even the will to force out Maduro in Venezuela, who is ten times worse than Justin.

The answer is to find our own Trump and while there are some differences, that would be Max Bernier among the current options. Max allied with like-minded premiers would be a political force equivalent to Trump.

      1. The realistic outcome would be the US declared a protectorate instead of marching and taking over the place.
The upside is that Canada stays Canada but it keeps the liquidators from selling our assets to a foreign entity hostile to the US.

    2. A Canadian, I will say that Canadians will never fight for freedom. That generation fought when I was born and their courage and grasp freedom no longer exists.

  22. Well since the only difference between the Liberals and and Cons is the amount of media screeching for the next 4 years, I’ll be voting Clown World. At least the Liberals don’t lie about what they are.

    1. so you do not think that any more damage can be done by the clown world? are you as dumb as the clowns?

      1. I’m counting on it. Enough damage to wake up enough people to end this farce of a confederation. Cucks are gonna cuck until they can’t pretend any more. Don’t be the last.

  23. Our sincere condolences to the family, friends and comrades of Bdr Labrie

    Canadian Forces
    @CanadianForces

Bombardier Patrick Labrie, a member of the 2nd Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery based at 4th Canadian Division Support Base Petawawa, Ontario, has died as a result of his injuries during parachute training as part of Exercise SWIFT RESPONSE 19.

    (link: https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/news/2019/06/one-canadian-soldier-has-died-during-a-multinational-training-exercise.html) canada.ca/en/department-…

    1. Agreed.

      RIP Bdr Patrick Labrie.

I think all of us that served, regular or reserve, may have experienced some close calls. What happened to Bdr Labrie does happen often enough.

  24. Ironic that this of all countries is the one place that fears warming the most.

I hope Max gives it to them straight in the election, the climate emergency is a false flag, the very best thing I could say is that is 10 times reality exaggeration that fails to consider the possibility of any benefits from that slightly warmer climate (not the much warmer one that is always ten years away).

Voters need to have an unambiguous choice that represents rejection of the hysteria. Whether it’s 2% of 10% of the vote that they end up getting depends on how hard the new party is willing to work. It’s not just going to be Max, there will be candidates in all ridings. If they are supported from a central party foundation with clear, easily understood policy alternatives, and if Max keeps hammering away on the idea that every PPC candidate elected amplifies his voice in parliament (i.e., your voice), then some progress may be made. Would it have the unwanted effect of returning a Liberal government? I don’t think at 2% there is any danger of that, even at 10% if that vote were concentrated in maybe 30 ridings where there was a critical mass.

We as conservative voters can decide this, I think. There could be a committee set up, independent of both parties, to assess which of the two candidates would be the better choice, then attempt to get the whole voting bloc to support that choice. If the outcome was a choice of two minority coalitions with nearly equal total seats, then perhaps the Bloc and a few independents would have to choose, and they would more likely choose Liberal-NDP-Green, so the Cons and the Peeps would need to have the majority. Realistically the PPC would be lucky to elect five candidates but could get to twenty if my vote-preference scheme caught on.

It would mean then that the CPC would need to increase by about forty to sixty over current levels.

This is a daunting task whatever your political preferences. Those gains would have to come in suburban areas since CPC already holds most of the small town and rural ridings and the inner cities as we know are a lost cause. Do people in Mississauga, Markham, Laval, suburbs of Winnipeg, Langley BC, etc, want to pay all these carbon taxes? Many of them commute to work. The BC example is ahead of the rest of the nation already and it’s damned expensive to fill your tank in BC, especially the lower mainland. Max should start his campaign out here, just camp out beside a gas station and make sure the 169.9 price is front and centre. “Hey, 905, do you want to pay this much to fill up twice a week?” If the answer is yes, then Justin or Andy would be dandy.

I think it’s important that the PPC would make significant gains in this election. We have to send a message to the CPC that they can’t just ignore their base and change the policies to Liberal lite without consequences. Then hopefully there would be enough realization to promote a merger and a better set of policies., under a new leader.

  25. If I was a Liberal strategist, I would be laughing my ass off at this thread. Max = true conservative. Scheer = weak leadership. True conservative values vs. watered down globalist values. Hey, let’s all split the vote and let Prince Selfie win again, while we fight amongst ourselves.

The only thing that matters is power and changing the system after one achieves that. In the meantime, keep yelling from the sidelines.

    Conservatives can be such sucks!

    1. I’m not splitting my conservative ideals when voting for the PPC for it is you that is splitting the vote so I will not vote like you are.

Conservative Platforms First not Party Politics of the Globalist LibCons Party of one.

      LibCons can be such sucks!

    2. Prefer to be a suck than a cuck like you. Now go do what you’re told to do by you mom.

      1. My Mom is a true to the heart conservative.

She’s voting for Max as well and she’s in her late eighties and she can’t stand the waffling center Leftists policies of Scheer.

She likes free speech and she has had it all her life and she refuses to give it up and that is the crux of the matter when voting in October.

        1. Your mother has the wisdom that many of the elderly have: they can instinctively see right through PC, whether they follow politics intently , or not. Large proportions of the younger generations have largely fallen for it. God bless her.

    3. A Trudeau victory is the fuel of western separation. Although I will vote Max, as a lifelong AB separatist, I’m tempted to vote for separation via Trudeau.

  26. Conservative Climate Plan Platform

No Commitment to Paris Targets so why this?

Double Speaking like balancing the budget or free speech please…

Anyone who believes in Scheer’s ability to not change his mind once in power is deluding yourselves.

LibCons Party of one have created all of this mess and I firmly believe that they will not get us out of any of it.

Time for a real change in Canadian Federal Politics.

Backstabber: Scheer whips MPs to vote for UN instead of Canadians
    EZRA LEVANT
    REBEL COMMANDER

All but one Conservative MP voted for a Liberal motion called “Paris Agreement”, and in doing so, voted against every single thing the Conservative Party and these MPs had ever said and done.

Why did Andrew Scheer allow this?

The motion talks about a “global solution”, which is another way of saying the UN will make decisions for Canada. Since when do Conservative MPs think their constituents are better represented by the UN?

The CPC never thought the Paris deal was a good idea when Obama had America under it, but after Trump pulls out, they suddenly think it’s a good idea?

    https://www.therebel.media/ezra_levant_june_7_2017?safari_redirect

    1. Ezra is right. Scheer whipping his MPs to vote for the Paris Fraud has been my main beef and I had a lengthy debate with my local CPC Mp about this, but she would would relent so we agreed to disagree.

  27. It is unfortunate that Scheer did not take a strong stand and declare the Paris targets unachievable. He could easily do that in conjunction with explaining how little impact Canada will have on the climate and how devastating punative reductions would be on the economy. It’s common sense. He might loose the youth/activist vote, but they are not voting for him anyway. He would gain a lot of fence sitter votes.

  28. Joe Clark 2.0, called it all along. We have government based upon the U.K. system. How’s it working over there? There’s your answer. We’re screwed.

I love telling the phone slaves calling for donations, what I think of a so called Conservative Party.

    Scheer is useless,
Max will do something else after this election
and the Conservative Party is controlled by the East, like everything else in this country.

    1. I agree Jane. I love getting those phone calls from the CPC looking for money then politely asking them to explain to me what part of the CPC is conservative. “Trudeau bad.” Is all I get from them.

My money and vote goes to PPC and Max. Someone who actually defends conservatives and conservatism. Not weak minded cowards of the CPC who equivocate to every far left demand placed in front of them.

  29. Do you think the media will team up to force Max into the debates like they did with May? Me neither.

    1. Getting into the debates is by how many ridings your political party has candidates in.

Thé PPC has already reached that total and plan to have a PPC candidate in every riding.

So yes Max will be at the debates.

  30. If the thief wears a red tie or a blue tie, what does it change?
    Still a thief.
Canada is corrupt to the core.
    In my opinion not reformable.
So how does an productive individual have a beneficial future in Canada?
Move to the States would be my choice if I was 39 years younger.
A land without merit, does not reward you based on the quality of your work.
Who you know, who your relatives be,that has always been the Liberal/Conservative way.
“Its a big club and you ain’t in it”;George Carlin.
Now being old and cranky I will help hasten the end.
Confederation dooms the West to perpetual servitude.
Let us set our children free.
The re election of Trudeau Two is the best the West can hope for.
Concrete proof we have zip in common with the “Peters” of the East.
For Peter will always vote to reward himself with Pauls wealth.

  31. We at the PPC are going to be changing federal politics for the better once and for all.

October is still far away just keep an eye out for us.

    1. You have too many ridings with no representatives. You risk vast numbers of true conservatives simply boycotting the elections in disgust. At that point, how “legitimate” is any government elected on 35% turnout? Surely not much.

  32. Understanding the Left, Z Man –

The Left operates like a highly coordinated religious cult. They are tuned to react to one another. It is a self-contained, self-validating shared reality for the adherents. It’s why so few people break from it. More important, its immune system has evolved highly complex defenses against the way in which the Right prefers to debate. Those appeals to facts and reason are quickly turned into fuel to energize the believers into huddling closer in common defense. It’s how the Left maintains its power. It has turned the enemy’s best weapons into fuel.

It is why engaging with the Left is a tactical error. (aka Scheering)

Instead of playing the role carved out for them by the Left, the successful dissidents will seem formless and inexplicable. The people in charge will never see them coming.

    Hello Max!

  33. Victor Hanson, Real Clear Politics –

The middle classes are revolting against Western managerial elites—professional politicians, entrenched bureaucrats, condescending academics, corporate phonies and propagandistic journalists.

The wealthy had the means and influence not to be bothered by higher taxes and fees or to avoid them altogether. Not so much the middle classes. Elites never suffered the firsthand consequences of their own ideological fiats. The middle classes became nauseated by the constant elite trashing of their culture, history and traditions, including the tearing down of statues, the Trotskyizing of past heroes, the renaming of public buildings and streets, and empty whining about “white privilege.”

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2019/06/13/why_are_the_western_middle_classes_so_angry_140551.html

    1. The elites (read globalists) have destroyed western economies while employing legions of leeches to implement their agenda and buy votes offering free sh*t to one and all. This CO2 scam is par for the course. To keep the charade going, while lining their pockets, they have lowered the cost of money to NADA (real interest rates) blowing asset bubbles (that they get in on first inline and first out before collapse) and destroying working Joe’s savings by pushing cost inflation above what fixed term investments pay.
Today the US Fed signaled more to come as did last week the ECB. Socialist collectivism for the masses. Power & profits for the elite.

      .

  34. Details of Scheer’s new plan released and he’s already dumped on by Ivison at NP.

The plan brought to you by the Faith-Family-Freedom party that crapped all over conservative values:
-committment to globalist targets and agenda.
-More government regulation of a non-pollutant
    -More costs on industry.
-More wasteful slush funds subsidized by consumers.
-More green energy projects a la WindScam that was funded by Harper.
-Tax breaks (meaning someone else pays) for someones “high energy furnace” as if gubbmint subsidiies don’t screw the market.
-More red tape a la Home reno plans where you end up paying more for pre & post heat loss audits than the savings are worth.
    – a plan that that affirms the Paris accord but that relies on mechanisms not OK’d by the Paris accord
    etc etc etc
All the CPC have done is obscure the costs of their plan vs. a straight carbon tax while not having any clue if they can meet the Paris targets they committed too.
Long ago the debate was settled. A CO2 tax is prefered vs all these BS mechanisms that create an industry of bean counters cost that produce NADA.
No one noticed yet how we get conned & the CPC is in on moving the goalposts further and further to the left ???

    1. Same Liberal policies … but different.

No one noticed yet how we get conned & the CPC is in on moving the goalposts further and further to the left ???

Yes, I did. See posting below.

  35. Quebec and Ottawa will continue to farm Albertans and Saskatchewanians like the cucks we are. Almost a trillion dollars donated to confederation by hard working men and women in this province over the last generation, not to mention all the jobs provided for countless industries across the country to support the energy sector. When all we ask for is a PERMISSION to sell our product outside of our province we get a thumb in the eye and a boot on our throat and are forced to beg and grovel for that privilege. Too many Albertans are too sentimentally attached to canada. (I can’t possibly think of any other reason for remaining and have yet to hear anything close to a valid reason for doing so.)

Not much will change until Canada implodes under the weight of communism/socialism/liberalism/globalism…whatever you want to call it. Then, the anchor (Ottawa et al) will drown us all and it will be too late to escape.

It will be a good show…get your cameras ready. 🙂

  36. Calgary 4:40MT 13 ° C . . .

    There’s a climate emergency here.
    Dangerous. Rain.
My balls might get pelted, maybe slashed.
My buddies have opened themselves to the world.

They are out there, alone, shivering.
    They might commit suicide.
    I must rescue them!
    Yes, I must !

My neighbours might not be happy.
    They might get some.
They might stink up the house.
Oh! The dilemma of Climate change!
    H-E-L-P!

  37. three policy principles of the Conservatie “plan” https://www.dropbox.com/s/wd71esdae06ki33/ARealPlan.pdf?dl=0

    Green technology, not taxes
A cleaner and greener natural environment
Taking our fight against climate change global

Canada’s pledge for the Paris Agreement (2015) is to cut emissions by 30% below 2005 levels by 2030. These targets were developed by the previous Conservative government And we are supposed to be proud of this folly?
Canada is well positioned to be a top contributor of clean technology development How? Every Western politician utters this blather. Remember Silicon valley North? Silicon Glen? Silicon everywhere a politician wanted to talk utter balderdash and incorporate a contemporary theme.

OMG A picture of Saint “eco” Andy watering a tree!

environmentally sustainable If I hear that phrase once more …!! Only vapid politicians and blind ideologs use this phrase. The solar system is not “sustainable” and certainly not the national debt.

    Grrrr… I could go on

My basic complaint is that he is trying to attract voters (the green-left) who will never vote for him anyway. And in doing so, he becomes left of center; a follower of political winds. Not a leader.

  38. Not voting for the Sheer Boredom sheeple club
    Not donating to their idiocy
    Not working for their campaign
If the choice is the current retard, or retard-“light” I’ll pass
Won’t feel bad if we get stuck with the retard for four more
I mean, what’s the difference anyway?

    1. “…your right wing leader is to the Left of Joe Biden.”

That is about the size of it.

      Sad.

  39. The least bad option is still the best option. Bernier’s party could never win enough votes to win power or even the balance of power, and will simply dilute the PC vote. I can see Max being the difference between a PC majority and minority government, with the added bonus of winning no seats to help the PCs. If he does better than I expect, Max could even hand the reins back to Justin Trudeau. Nope, despite my trepidations with milquetoast Scheer, his PCs are better than the NDP and Liberals.

  40. If you want you own country and your own freedom, then (a) to be a dick about it, vote Trudeau, (b) to be a fine upstanding citizrn about it, vote Max.

If you vote PC, you are not serious (yet) about a divorce. It is that simple.

  41. Scheer is a climate coward , unlike Trump who publicly stated he viewed climate change/global warming as BS.

Scheer would have been better to come out and say it was all BS , and back it up with credible evidence. Ya , I know the press would have dumped on him , which is what they are doing now , and the climate crazies would have gone nuts (well they already are) , and they would never vote CPC anyway.

I view Scheer as a fence sitter and his policy shows that. If elected he will be not much different than Junior regarding climate issues , he is just pretending he will be at the moment.

    1. Sitting on the fence …
Wins no votes from people who were never going to vote for you anyway (ie. hardcore partisans).
Convinces no one who likely is voting for the other guys; why vote other guys lite, when you can just vote other guys?
Convinces no one who has not decided yet (ie. mushy middle).
Alienates some people who likely would have voted for you (ie. your “base”, mushy/leans conservative).
Loses you no votes from people who will never change their vote under any circumstance (ie. hardcore partisans).

That is where Scheer and his party sit right now. No possibility of winning new votes. Only losing votes they used to have.

The two groups at either end, you cannot lose those people, and you cannot get any from the other side. Judging by the strategy I have seen so far, it is quite clear that Scheer and the CPoC brain trust believe that the mushy/leans Liberal pool is the largest voting block that is in play. This is why everything they do plays at presenting “Liberal Lite”.

Scheer has made it clear that the base mushy/leans conservative pool is irrelevant. Vote accordingly. IF your support does not matter, why let them keep taking it for granted?
