  1. Too bad there is no clarity in the EU. Your daily Ramadan celebration numbers, 2071 dead and 1254 wounded. the month will soon be over they are through day 22 at this point.

    1. But OWG the moslem cult is not a problem, the CBC says the problem is White Nationalist NAZI’s. You need to spend more time in front of the TV absorbing what the CBC is saying. It is for your own good. Now go and turn on all your tv’s and radio’s and tune them to CBC 24/7 and get in the groove. You are not accepting the message. Quit resisting the message. Start by chanting “I AM CANADIAN” every morning. If this does not work, call The PARTY and talk to the COMRADES, confess your wrong thinking before it is too late. And you end up in re education.

      1. The level of shit we are exposed to daily makes me happy, well maybe not happy, but just glad that I will no longer have to deal with the level of stupid that is overwhelming society today. The latest info regarding the IQ of the average citizen should be depressing as it would appear we are definitely losing our minds, humans, that is.

    2. Did you watch the video. The Macaroni Head at the end says the election was a risky venture for the EU? That is their mindset — elections are risky because people might have an opinion. WTF? He also said the EU was bullied by far right populists. Nigel is such a Bully.

Seems to me a pretty amazing feat to put together a dominant campaign in 5 weeks.

    1. 751 members sit in the European thingy. Wow. The whole thing looks like our Canadian city elections.
Parasites and special interest politicians sitting around figuring out new and exciting ways to spend the cash.
Why is GB still in this thing?

    2. Richard North is being disingenuous. The Lib Dems and Greens are not simply Remain parties, they are established parties with a range of policies. People may vote for them for any number of reasons however people voted for the Brexit party only if they want Brexit. Both the Lib Dems and Green voters include many Brexiters so you are not comparing like with like.

  2. This doesn’t change anything. There’s still no solution to the Irish border problem because it is unsolvable. You either

    (1) hard-close the NI / I border and potentially reignite the Troubles. The UK doesn’t want that;
    (2) place a border between NI and the UK proper. This turns NI citizens into second-class UK citizens. The UK doesn’t want that;
    (3) keep the NI / I border open by maintaining some kind of customs union with the EU. The UK doesn’t want that.

They have to pick a poison. They don’t want to. Ergo, they’re stuck.

    1. No. You do not implement border controls at all.
If Irish people prefer to buy forbidden goods at better prices, they are free to do so.
If the EU wants a border, then they impose it.

That way, the IRA knows exactly who the enemy is.

      1. Laughable. The UK can’t / shouldn’t make this big a deal out of Brexit only to turn around and leave the NI / I border wide open with no immigration nor customs controls. It defeats the whole frigging point. The EU won’t permit that border to remain open without a customs union / agreement either. And to suggest the IRA will just start bombing, what, Brussels instead of Ulster? Ludicrous.

The Brexit camp did absolutely no academic work, no research, no theorizing, on what had to happen with that border. They completely failed to take it into meaningful consideration, as they were too focused on the English view of the EU and didn’t consider the different circumstances in NI. And it has utterly ruined them ever since.

I don’t let the Northern Irish off the hook, mind you. Its politics have become completely dysfunctional because ever since the border opened they’ve essentially just punted any real resolution to their schisms down the road. It’s still a population riven between two desires and the views are fundamentally irreconcilable. An open border that lets each side pretend they’ve got what they want doesn’t truly resolve that core problem.

        1. Who cares if the Irish want to be globalist cucks. Gerry Adams and his Sinn Fein can sod off.

The UK has a land border with France at the Euro tunnel complete with customs booths and everything. It’s not a big deal.

        2. Want to explain why the border can’t remain open?
The UK had no problem with it for quite a while, until the IRA started lobbing bombs, then the put checks in place.

The UK couldn’t care less if the Irish come and shop in Ulster. Only the EU will care.

Of course, there is another solution: The Irish hand back the southern bit to the UK.

        3. OK, illegal immigrants will be able to enter the UK via Ireland, that’s no different to the present situation. Anyway, people can enter the UK on a visa and then disappear, or just claim asylum. What is needed is a reliable method of detecting and ejecting such people.

    2. You would think that the Republic of Ireland, understandably resentful of the the long gone days of British rule, would be less willing to outsource that foreign rule to Brussels. They could and should tell Brussels to go f..k themselves when it comes to a Border with the North.

The real asshole vote in this is the Scots voting for the poorly named Scottish National Party which, unlike its name would imply, prefer enslaving all of the UK and in particular, Scotland to the EU. The enemy of my enemy is my friend?

  3. How the UK can seemingly have such healthy democratic institutions and yet be such a gigantic mess is beyond me.

  4. Given that we have secret ballots, and that there is no way for an individual to prove or disprove that he voted a certain way, we are left with collective punishment.

When you do business with someone, where do they live? Did they come from a region that voted Liberal? Go to the next business. Is the business or headquarters located in a Labour/remainer riding? Do business somewhere else.

You have to stop giving money to people who hate you. So don’t buy another German auto. Don’t buy a French auto. If the car you are looking at was not built in Nigel Farage’s backyard, find one that was. Give your money to people who support what you support.

    1. next time you vote look at your ballot. The ballots have matching numbers on them anyone with access to the ballots would know who you voted for.

  5. The way out of the EU is to replace them with a much better alternative like strengthening trade ties to the U.S. and the Commonwealth of Nations for instance. But for heaven sakes whatever they do, do it WITHOUT asphyxiating Climate Change policy. That’s like bringing skull ‘n cross bone spiked Kool-Aid to the church picnic. Keep it simple, un-tariffed and minimally regulated then business will thrive and investment will grow bringing decent jobs and increasing living standards. Which is exactly the point.

  6. Oddly, I don’t hear a single word about this on Global News Calgary this morning. It’s almost like they didn’t want me to know this, but of course that can’t be true, I know absolutely that they tell me all the news they want me to hear.

    1. Of course not, the media censors every freaking piece of info that they receive. We are stupid don’t ya know?

    2. Glowball morning news?

It’s a love-in of fluff. An extension of ET. The radio crew is the same. They’re entertainers don’t cha know.

Don’t look for hard news there. It’s all fire dept rescues kitten stuff.

  7. // Statistics from the European election results in the UK suggest that Remain would have won, easily, if this had been a “proxy” referendum on Britain’s membership in the European Union.
Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party and Brexit supporters inside the Conservative Party are now likely to fight tooth and nail against a second referendum — they know they will lose.
There is an obvious strategic advantage for Labour if it were to now pivot in favor of a second vote. //
    Business Insider

    1. diz, you are bringing over this article. I suppose you agree with the sentiment.
      Don’t referendums count?
If I were Nigel Farage I would fight against a second referendum. It ain’t got nuthin’ to do with knowing they wil lose or not. It has to do with a do-over subverts the democratic process. The people have spoken. If the second referendum still gives the wrong answer, will these people be in favor of a third? Are we going to keep doing it until the people give up in sheer exasperation?

      1. The Brits should have a second amendment and shoot all the traitors in the damn country.

  8. The NPC sock puppets have clearly been issued talking points. Haven’t seen progressive pat or dizzy in a loooong time.

    1. You still haven’t realized that Progressive Pat’s shtick is satire?

  9. Is it just me?
Or is the media coverage of this EU vote, verging on the absurd?
An absurd body, the EU, just had an election for positions of no meaning as the bureaucrats hold all actual power in this body.
A purely symbolic vote just sent a signal to the effete elites of the EU.
Message ignored is the media response.
This is great, Europe is accelerating its fade into oblivion, buy more popcorn.
We might be well advised to look to our own defences.

  10. Right now the UK is one bad Conservative leadership pick away from Prime Minister Nigel Farage. Never would have guessed that.

He might win even with a reasonable Conservative leadership pick. Brexit voters are drawn from both Conservative and Labour ranks. And now that people realize they can have an impact voting for a third party, they might just choose to vote those two parties onto the trash heap of history. At the same time.

Brexit party government with LibDem opposition? The odds just got a whole lot bigger. This is a generational change happening. It may be too late for the old guard to stop it now.
