  1. As a boy growing up in the late 1950s and in the 1960s, I read every weekly TIME issue that came through our family’s subscription. Growing up in farm country in Western Pennsylvania, TIME, along with our Encyclopedia Britainica, was my escape from an often boring world. When the Luce family sold out, TIME went the way of other corporate media and became progressive.

I like the term, at the end of the post, “the DNC-MSM echo machine”. That term says it all! Why be part of that machine? TIME early on made an editorial choice to tilt left. And look at it now. All it is is a vanity project of a billionaire couple and nothing more. It is a money losing entity that contributes nothing.

We should all start using the term, in Canada, “the LPC-MSM echo machine”. Rather drab world to work in.

    1. TIME
      NEWSWEEK
WORLD AND NEWS REPORT – good GOD! they started as a conservative alternative to progressive weeky’s

      NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC
      THE ECONOMIST

These were all publications that I read cover-to-cover as a lad. They ALL eventually became cesspools of scolding leftist lectures. Stopped reading them all. If Katie Couric asked me what I read in 2008 … I’d have told her … NOTHING (that she’d recognize), and given her an EARFUL as to WHY. They would never be able to edit-out ALL of my disdain for the leftist claptrap in periodical print.

Yup. Insults to human intelligence and reasoning.

        1. heh heh
I remember the articles on the ravages of substance abuse and addiction.
then flip the pages to a liquor ad or whatever.

I chopped more than 1 to pieces for a grade school assignment.

      2. Reader’s Digest could also be included with Kenji’s list. When I was a kid there were articles about the deprivations, human rights abuses, and murders committed by Castro and his thugs. Today the editors are essentially silent about that or openly on Castro’s side. Pathetic.

  2. It’s a practical approach: Invest in assets with the promise of profit growth; don’t waste money trying to fix hopelessly weak ones, no matter how strong the romantic attachment.

You don’t need to pay a $6-figure CEO to figure this one out. UNLESS … your are a PC, SJW, Virtue-signaling idgiot.

  3. kenji, there used to be sane, rational people in America. The few who are left are being overcome by the idiots and morons. It is a sad commentary on a country and society that was comprised of people who actually understood what the constitution said and knew it was the ultimate law of the land. Canada as a free country has long ceased to exist, as has America.

  4. The Newsweek was owned by the Jewish (Alsatian) family of Graham (WAPO) and was sold to Harmon… That Jewish Congresswomen “Harmon” that was providing TOP secret information to Israel… It was Pelosi who short circuited Harman and sent her packing (Pelosi was an American at one time) The WAPO has been a Communist enclave for a long time,,, Bernstein(Deep Throat) & Russian Max Boot are fully engaged today….
History will not be kind to these types of Jewish activists.. CNN, WAPO, NYT

    JMHO

  5. Well. I suppose the discriminating few who pick up Happy Paws can rest assured that its contents are not a pack of lies.

For example, they will openly discuss the differences in temperament and intelligence between breeds of dog, the suitability of each breed as pets or for use in service, and the importance of having Fido neutered if he is not to be used for breeding.

No magazine will discuss the differences between humans in such fashion.
