    I’ve posted this set of graphs over the last several years that I’ve been following and commenting on this blog. Anybody can envision a set of graphs, with no explanation. These sure do. To me there’s a definite decline with that brief high blip at the end that suggests temps are generally declining, not rising. This is the visual of the end of an inter-glacial period, or another pause in the 10-15 thousand years that inter-glacial periods last, before going back to a glaciated planet.

    CO2 has very little to do with it and there is plenty of info out there to reach that conclusion. It has a role in “greening” the planet, as higher concentrations promote photosynthesis….green houses use CO2 to enhance production. During the “Dinosaur Ages” CO2 levels were 1500 – 1900 ppm. Today it’s 400 ppm. Below 250 ppm plants become stressed and below 200 ppm this planet has a real problem supporting life as we know it. CO2 is a trace gas vital to most life on this planet, not pollution as Climate Barbie states.

    The Sun’s energy output and the Earth’s periodic “tilt” governs temperatures on this planet. The geographic makeup of Continents dictates wind and ocean currents that move “weather” around. Until those Continents move enough to change the current patterns we see today, not much is going to change weather wise. Continents move at the rate of a hand span a year, or less.

    To think that paying “jizya”, or the Catholic equivalent of “indulgences” like a Carbon Tax is going to change weather patterns is a bit of a stretch, considering that Canada’s population is about 37 million, vs a billion Chinese and a billion Indians and living next door to 350 million Americans who aren’t paying a dime of Carbon Tax. Besides, we have like Russia and Brazil large Boreal forests to suck up everybody else’s CO2 and they should be paying us for not cutting those trees down, instead of paying local, crooked political Parties cash money as a penalty for daring to remain alive on this planet and in their country.

    I find it also strange that if we are so concerned about how much CO2 we put into the air, why import more people to this country that will produce more? I see car ads running late on TV. Why, if we are so concerned about CO2 production?

As you say, because of the arrangement of the continents, the world is in a glacial phase for a very long time, possibly until Antarctica moves away from the south pole.

You get flooding, early frost’s droughts etc. As the sun quits producing sun spots and the solar output drops. This changes the jet stream and it changes the ocean currents. So the sun affects us and our climate through the oceans and the wind.

  9. Its April here in rural Ontario and I’m still shoveling snow and its cold out there. Ice breakers still can’t open pathways in Georgian Bay for freighters because of rare thick ice. Personally I can’t wait for global warming. And as I have mentioned before, if the report says its to late to do anything about global warming in Canada why are we bothering with a carbon tax. And how is it fair that people in rural areas that have to use their vehicles all the time get the same rebate as people in cities.

    This from the totally discredited author of the Hockey Stick graphic. the claimant of a personal Nobel Prize and suer (unsuccessful) of Mark Steyn. In short he has no credibility on the subject, just like this report and just like CNN and CBC.

  40. Canada has a population density of 4/sq.km. Compare this with the UK at 267/sq.km, Germany 233/sq.km, France 104/sq.km. Even Russia has double that of Canada.

    So with the lowest population density in the developed world our temperatures are rising faster than countries with like the UK with approx 60 times the population density, I can only conclude that our vast empty spaces are contributing more to global warming that highly populated countries.

  41. Here in BC we were allowed summer tires on all our highways beginning April 1. Not any more: beginning 2018 the provincial government has mandated winter tires from October 1 through April 30… an additional month. If you’re keeping score, that comes to SEVEN months of government-decreed winter road conditions. From an NDP/Green coalition no less!!!
    So… (1) if it’s supposed to be warming so much, how come winter driving season just became a month longer?

      The simple fact is, if Scott Moe did not want a carbon tax, if he were serious about not having one, there would have been no increase in the price of gas in Saskatchewan on April 1.
