The CBC is at least as fixated on identity politics as the Democratic Party. In fact , the CBC has more in common with the Democrats in the US than Canadians outside of the NDP, Green and Liberal Parties.

    1. Haven’t followed the CBC that much, but a number of years ago, CBC employment ads surfaced, where the corrupt agency explicitly stated “no white males need apply”. When the new, post-Mansbridge format was announced, a while ago for the CBC National, the CBC made a big thing about its four-person rotation, and the fact that none of the four are white males. (And the fact that TV ratings suddenly plummeted immediately following the introduction of the no-white-male approach doesn’t seem to have fazed anybody at the Ceeb).

      I haven’t bothered to watch the CBC National in years, following its outwardly corrupt reporting of the AdScam scandal, when Peter Mansbridge and Jason Moscovitz worked hard to minimize the scandal’s importance. But during the LavScam scandal, I did watch the first 15 or 20 minutes of the National for a number of days. Needless to say, it was difficult to get used to the utter lack of white males in the broadcast, whether with the hosts or the reporters.

      With racialist idenitarianism, first comes the bigotry (e.g., the derogatory “white male” phrase bandied about at universities and in the media cartel). Then comes the overt racial-sex discrimination that follows the prejudice. I am a white male, but I am not racist or anti-female. But the anti-white-male prejudice by the CBC and elsewhere is awful.

    2. I didn’t wear protection, so I only read a few replies to the tweet, but it struck me that CBC should be more careful of what it tweets. On its website, it can hobnail-boot-stomp the echo-chamber of the comments sections, but they have no such control over Twitter. I wonder how long it’ll take them to learn that lesson.

He seems quickly to be looking like ” the chosen one”, given media coverage. If Trump is looking good come primary time they might throw Biden in as a place holder.     When you are willing to change your tactics, maybe you will achieve your goal. Until then, just lie back, and think of the Queen… Or something.

    Remember, if the CBC tells you that someone is unelectable, or will split the vote, or whatever fear uncertainty and doubt is popular this week, they would never lie to you. The government has your interests in mind…

  18. And to people talking about “defunding” the CBC; I think it is actually coming. But the “solution” is going to be even worse.

    I think, deep in the bowels of the bureaucracy, the idea of a TV licensing fee (like the UK has to support it’s state propaganda organ) is being bandied about. Liberals get to be the ones who say they killed funding for CBC. The license fee for Quebecers will be set at zero, or $1 a year or something. The license fee for everyone else will be set at $100 per month per TV (or reception capable device) in your home.

    So if you have 3 old tubes stacked in your shed, and a TV at the cabin, and 2 in your house; START GETTING RID OF THEM NOW. The feeding of the leviathan will never be slowed or cut back.

    1. Analog tv broadcast ended in my region of canada in 2011. None of my old tv sets receive a broadcast.

      1. There are digital over the air TV tuners; I suspect they will start with attaching the license fee to these first, and also tack it onto the analog tuners in old TV as well.

        The TV tax is quite draconian in the UK. I expect Canada will out Maduro them on this one though.

        1. I have a digital OTA receiver that plugs into a USB port on a computer. It captures the data to a file. It is small, not much bigger than a thumb drive, so can be easily hidden. Can be operated in a remote hidden spot if needed then retrieved later if one really didn’t want to pay a tv tax.
          I haven’t used the device in years. With 8k video now supported on YouTube, the 1080p broadcasts would be unacceptable if I had to pay a fee.
          I don’t watch the CBC or anything the BBC has produced. I don’t watch any news or read any newspapers because, as a climate scientist, I get very upset every time the climate change / global warming scam gets promoted.

    It is difficult to use the word “racist” since it has become meaningless. It has turned in meaning as in “don’t like you”, “you are dumb”.     1. Actually, he is not doomed for any quirky or outlandish behaviour. He is on the political left and they get away with a lot of stuff. Stock’s ski doo stunt should not have been a show stopper either, since he actually did this sport. It seemed fine for the first week or so,then, the media cabal decided to go after him. Interestingly, Trudeau’s pretending participation in the army run was perfectly ok with the media, despite his borrowing someone else’s registration and it never being verified that he actually did the run, Media tolerate all kinds of stunts from Liberals. Poor Harper takes a 5 minute ride on a quad, and the media are all over him for “where’s your helmet?” The media is predictably pathetic.

  32. I am expecting an eruption of “Betomania” in the U S, and of course Canada. Canadians will view him as the second coming of Obama. The only hope would be Hillary and Obama going to jail before the next Presidential election. We can always hope.
