Nebraska Flooding

80,000 evacuated and unsurprisingly, none of this is making the national news.

  1. There is always a silver lining. There will be great moisture levels for the start of the growing season.

    1. I hate to think what the thick ice floes scraping across his topsoil has done to his land.

My ” thoughts and prayers are with them”, although I know AOC would not approve of that sentiment. Anyways, you’d think this would be a perfect opportunity for the MSM and their eco-teammates to lecture deplorables of the dangers of ignoring global warming.

  2. It’s not trending in news coverage because: a) Nebraskans are all whiter than the Queen of England; b) there are no celebrity whiners in Nebraska; and c) it’s a GOP Trump red state. Those 3 factors combine to make Nebraska the trifecta of MSM news blindness. Our daughter-in-law’s family has been in an isolated shelter there in Fremont since noon …now no way in or out, surrounded by waste-deep water.

        1. Yes, all the farmers should leave immediately, oh wait, you like to eat regularly too, don’t you?

        2. One of the reasons it is such an appealing place is that is generally free of jerk-offs like you.

        3. To be fair, it is not our fault that your father liked his white children more than he liked you.

    1. I worked for a gentleman who was a BIG RED Husker alum … and every year he recruited young kids from his alma mater. Without exception, every one who he hired were simply the the most competent, edgy, modern, yet wonderfully ‘grounded’ and nicest young people to work with. These kids were just as “up to date” as their “kewl, urban counterparts”.

Most of the “flyover country” crap is ages old. It’s become a myth. Perhaps way back, when there was no TV, and no internet, the country kids were ‘culturally’ retahded. But that is mostly MYTH now. The self-labeled coastal elites cling desperately to that myth … and the NASCAR myth … the Deep Southern crackah myth … are all straw images the leftist elites cling to like their baby blankies … to make them … FEEL … superior. I live here … they’re NOT. I’m a coastal “elite” – ha! And all the mindless leftists who march in banal lock step, repeat the same tired narratives are insufferable. I’ll take ONE solid, honest, open, salt of the earth Midwesterner for 100 of these automotons in my region of the map.

Perhaps it is because I am a conservative who believes in actions over words, truth over myth, honesty over politically correct speech … but I’ve NEVER been one of these nasty, Northern Californians. I guess, I’m a Reagan-Californian … a Dukemajian-Californian … a lifelong Nor CAL Native who is sickened to see what’s become of my State by importing an unbeliveably nasty overpopulation of rabble … at every socioeconomic level.

      1. “Most of the “flyover country” crap is ages old.”

For decades already. Anyone can always move to a big city ghetto if they want to. Most people who don’t, do so consciously. Or they comeback because they realize that so called “great cities” are in reality giant shitholes.

      2. Seems something of Einstein’s comment on insanity in those “flyover ” comments

  3. Bet you Scott Moe don’t care either. Just like he don’t care whether or not pipelines get built; only the pension and the next election.

Perhaps he will ask for a legal opinions about how much virtue to signal…

      1. Not Nebraska but also flooding

We’re still in drought. First rain for the year last night – 7.5 mm.

Prefer to this that North Queensland got hit with though – “Australia: from drought to flooding rains”

They have just gone from drought to a stationary monsoon trough that has caused massive flooding and then followed by a cold snap and huge stock losses

        https://www.beefcentral.com/news/cattle-losses-mount-as-northwest-qld-faces-monumental-flood-event/

        A sea of dead cattle

        https://www.beefcentral.com/news/sea-of-dead-cattle-across-queenslands-flood-ravaged-northwest/

One of the big cattle operations here may have lost around 50,000 head

        https://www.farmonline.com.au/story/5946867/aaco-loses-42000-plus-cattle-to-floods-and-57m-to-drought/

One wool grower in the area got 600+ mm and has lost the lot.

Something about “things sent to try us”

  4. Yep, we’re warming up for another of those generous American gifts of millions of acre/feet of water heavy with topsoil the Yanks give us free every Spring, which makes our farmland as fertile as can be. Hallelujah, and thank you America.

Funny though, the mere thought of us sending a little water the other way turns Canadians into raving maniacs, screaming “save our water”. Every dam we build the enviro-loonies are bitching about giving the Americans “our” water, like the controversy over Site C in B.C.
Some nutcases in B.C several years back suggested we dam the Colombia River to keep the Yanks from getting “our water”. I guess they didn’t realize that dammed water backs up and floods.

  5. “Levees fail”. That is never good when that happens. Looks like southern Manitoba did a number of years back.

There is always that 500 year event to prepare for.

All the best to the people there.

  6. Flooding caused by ice jams. According to the narrative there should be no ice, hence no media reporting.

    1. The white folk there will never cry that they’re “victims” of some evil socio-politi-economic plot to make them suffer. Like the UN IPCC makes every native living on a sand beach or dirt floor hut into some “victim” of Western capitalism … by “warming” the planet … which is having exactly 0.00% impact on the rate of sea level rise which has been consistently growing over recorded history.

The natives of Nebraska cannot be exploited for political gain … so they are ignored.

And … a “Trump-inspired” white supremicist just murdered 49 Muzzies … so MANY angles of the story … so MUCH human tragedy to report … so MANY references to Trump’s “language” to make … there’s no time for crackah-land !

      1. “…so MUCH human tragedy to report …”

Yes, mental illness can be devastating.

        1. Ha! Really … where are the sympathetic hand wringers who lament the shooter’s history of mental illness? Or does that only happen in Canada? You Canadians are so darn NICE … and sympathetic to all people, no matter what their affliction, religion, or hair color.

          1. Indeed, it seems that the tolerant left believes that those who murder while white are not mentally ill, disgustingly implying that they had a reason for their actions, does not sound very tolerant to me.

  7. Deplorable flyover country.

Doubtful they’ll need to worry about martial law and gun confiscations like the Deplorable Albertan’s endured in 2013. Now if Hitler had her way……..

    1. Indeed. Global warming…err….[insert fabricated new reason to fleece taxpayers here] . They have to get the talking points straight otherwise they’ll be citing [insert white supremacy reason here].

  8. > Fly Over country is not worthy of news from the Elitist Media…If they
did, probably blame President Trump, or Right Wing- gun- toting -savages!

    1. The climate alarmist have to keep coming up with new extreme weather condition names. I would not be surprised if they step it up and fabricate “mother-of-all- bombs” cyclone. Sometime later it will be “nuclear bomb” cyclone; then perhaps the “second coming” cyclone. I don’t know what they can do when they use up all the escalation and finally get to the “heat death of the universe” cyclone. Second thought, considering their knowledge of science they may go to “heat death” first because that would somehow be cooler, just because.

  9. “none of this is making the national news”
The majority of the flooding to date has occurred where the Platte River has overflowed inundating mostly rural areas.
If the Missouri starts overflowing its banks and floods Omaha where the population exceeds 400,000 I’m sure it will be on the news.

  10. Is this the Missouri river flooding? Which river system is this? I think the Missouri and the Mississippi are the biggest river systems in that part of the continent.

The Missouri river drains a HUGE area. Looked it up, yep, the Missouri.

Looked at the map, I combined through Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, all those states back in 91 with Thunder Creek Cutters. Before I went to university.

  11. Has Trump been blamed for it yet?

No, wait. The flooding is Allah’s revenge for what happened in New Zealand, which, of course, was all Trump’s fault.

  12. 1927 Mississippi Food.
Weather cycle seems to be about 80 years….
Same for the Eel River in California…
    Waiting
