  1. I’m not Canadian, so maybe I missed something, but I haven’t seen any conservatives trying to build up Jody Wilson-Raybould’s brand.

She remains someone loony-left enough to have been named to several important posts in Prettyboi’s government.

It’s just that, if the government’s positions are enough to disgust even an obvious loony like her, they must be really awful.

    1. There have been several calls on conservative blogs and websites for JWR to “cross the floor to the CPC”, which is the most unlikely of all events if she did leave the LPC. JWR would go Dipper, even Green, or form her own FN Alliance Party before she’d ever embrace the CPC.

I guess a lot of folks didn’t follow her career or her Dad’s career, so don’t realize where she’s coming from.

As for the SNC/ JWR scandal,it’s all about interference with the A-G by the PM and PMO,nothing more, but people have read more into it that they should have.

  2. Yeah, just online chatter. Not sure JJ is that much in touch, but there’s enough past actions to let everyone know she has been a far left native activist in the recent and far past, Bouchie commentary for example.
Right now, she’s a useful idiot, but she cannot be trusted whatsoever. Meanwhile, we wait to see if she is sincere in her disdain for TruDOPE and his feckless minions, or if she is just stuffing her pockets before she goes out the door, like a typical Liberal.

    1. DanBC,I’d bet the farm JWR is making deals behind the scenes for something big to keep her mouth shut. JWR is a savvy left wing political operative, not some half Native version of Saint Joan.

      1. don, exactly, she has leverage, and is using it. I have sat back and “watched” things unfold, as there is always shitt that eventually flows out of the wood work. I do think she may have destroyed the dauphins chances at re-election, and I think that is part of her pay back to him. This dance is not yet over.

    2. DanBC, “but she cannot be trusted whatsoever.”
Of course she can’t be trusted by the CPC,,,but moreover she’s proven to Liberals she can’t be trusted, and particularly to Laurentian Elites that she can’t be trusted. Anyone who ever brings tarnish to the Liberals brand, can never be trusted again, just like the mafia,,,hence the Libranos !

She’ll never be the Leader of the LPC, and maybe never be in cabinet again,,,,,but now that’s what makes her so dangerous to PMGroper and the Liberal party with an election 9 months away. Her testimony will indeed be interesting, did the LPC meet her hostage demands, does she have an axe(or some other stone tool) to grind with PMGroper, does she plan to move forward inside the LPC or blow it up on the way out the door, or will she just take out the Clerk of the Privy Council, Wernick to save face with Liberals and hope to regain some trust with them in the future.

    3. Great tweet and thanks for posting. Over the past two weeks, I have started to think that, in this affair, the Left holds all of the cards. (1) the Liberals have a majority in Parliament and run the government, (2 they have a majority on the House Justice Committee, (3) the Liberals control the supposedly “independent” public service, (4) the corporate media, who also are supposed to hold the public to account, are staunchly pro-Liberal, (5) the supposedly independent judiciary are very much pro-Liberal, and this includes the talking heads, those with some legal expertise, that are quoted by the media cartel. .

I do not expect much from Jody Wilson-Raybould when she does get to testify. She is after all a Liberal. There is a good investigative article in the Globe and Mail today about how Trudeau’s PMO devoted some of the behind-closed-doors time sounding out JWR on aboriginal issues. If anything, she may use her new powers to leverage the Liberal government to abandon the Trans Mountain pipeline, among other issues.

I have been struck by the commentary from the weak conservative media in Canada. There is a lot of righteous fulmination, but little else. Brian Lilley has been good, but even the better conservative writers have few contacts within the Liberal power complex. The conservative media lack the size and the financial clout to devote investigative resources to dig for new damning information. Holding out hopes that JWR will spill the beans is rather futile. The only positive here is that the voting public might start questioning Trudeau’s public image.

      1. Excellent summation of how everything political works in Canada.

When you combine the Liberal Party control of all the power, media, and justice levers in Canada with a tinge of SJW indigenous mindset there will be no accounting of this sordid affair to the Canadian people.

      2. David, “If anything, she may use her new powers to leverage the Liberal government to abandon the Trans Mountain pipeline, among other issues.”

I think it’s more likely that the Trudeau Liberal government, will just give the Trans Mountain pipeline to the Natives. Give them a money maker and more power.

        1. Carl I was thinking more along your way of “the Trudeau Liberal government, will just give the Trans Mountain pipeline to the Natives” until it occurred to me that the B.C. lower mainland gets the majority of its petroleum from Trans Mountain. Given how militant native groups can be without any deference to law can you imagine that pipeline not being leveraged by the natives to threaten millions of people with an instant shut downs unless a growing list of demands are immediately met? Kinda like giving an arsonist matches, a blow torch and more gasoline they could ever dream of.

      3. I can’t get out of my mind that before this is done Sheer owns this. Jodi speaks, nothing to see, nothing to hear. The power hungry Cons making a fuss to gain power. 60% are anxious to believe.

  3. No doubt she hates settlers as much as the next Indian.
I only recall conservatives cheering her on because she’s fighting a fellow communist and white man hater in Juthtin.

  4. I remember saying something to the effect of “if she has principles, she would have spoken already, just another Liberal” and a bunch of people here immediately tried to jump down my throat.

Anyone who is or ever was a Liberal, was born without ethics or morals. End of story.

  5. Yeah, so I just got back from the Conservatives for Jody meeting and man, was it packed with people from the right-wing anti-pipeline crowd. And then I woke up and it never happened actually, sorry.

  6. Was doing a little reading about JWR. I already knew she had been a crown prosecutor, which automatically makes it foolish for Jussie and Butts to try to pull one over on her–she has no doubt dealt with underage petty criminals with more savvy than those two.

In her career as an Indian politician she has done a few relatively “right wing” things, including pulling her band out of the Indian Act (basically turning it into a municipality). Her band is only like 1000 people though, smaller than my kids’ high school.

But her history is clearly anti-pipeline and she wrote some anti-pipeline opinion pieces as recently as 2016. Some of them refer to her “blog” on the subject, which has been taken down. A couple blame all of society’s ills on the evil Harper Conservatives, who apparently like to dine on kittens. She is not, ever, going to cross the floor to the Tories.

  7. I don’t think she’s a saint or would ever cross the floor to the CPC. However within the confines of LavGate she is definitely more principaled and smarter than JT and his string pullers. And is blasting a huge crater in their smug little world. Kudos.

    1. Principaled…?? Oh Please.

This Revison to the Criminal Code was 100% in her ballpark and inserted Long ago (Early 2018) and became law in September, as AG, she had to KNOW what it was & who it was intended to Benefit…for the past 3 years with the LARGEST GROUP OF lobby personel ever assembled on the hill were those working for SNC lavalin. She likely tried to actually pressure her Fedral Prosecutors…but they took a stand and likely said Fk you honey…we’re going for Guilty pleas or Verdicts.

Shes as rotten as the rest of her Liberal Buddies and to believe she will actually spill the beans…?? Not gonna happen.

  8. The electorate require simplicity, please help me understand why the CPC doesn’t start presenting this very complex scandal as this,,,
The Trudeau Liberal Government was pressuring the Justice Dept, to protect a large Canadian company from facing Criminal charges for misdoing. The Liberal government didn’t want this Quebec Company to face Criminal charges and were stepping in to persuade the Justice Dept to look the other way.

How many companies in Canada, who have broken laws, have the Liberal Party lobbied the Justice Dept to have charges not brought forward?

What are the names of these companies?

Have these companies made political donations to the LPC as a thank you, for not proceeding with Criminal charges?

Are there any Companies, where the Liberal government chose not to proceed with Criminal charges, that have ties to members of the Liberal Cabinet, or Liberal MP’s?

  9. Policies, regulations and legislation may be reformed, repealed or legislated by the will of Parliament. That is not the issue at hand, nor her role in that.

The narrative to date, is that the Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould M.P., Attorney-General of Canada, resisted political pressure from the P.M., Butts, the head of the Privy Council and perhaps others(?) to interfere with a Crown Prosecution.

In doing so, she upheld a foundational principle of Crown Prosecutors being independent from such political interference, as is her duty as Attorney General of Canada. It is the foundational principles that keep Canada, a free and democratic society. For that alone, she is to be commended.

So far as repairing Confederation, uniting the nation in a shared project, of a Canada, free and prosperous and fully self-confident in itself to survive, to celebrate 2067, as we proudly did in 1967.

Look in the mirror and ask yourself: “Is this the Canada, carved out of the wilderness by men and women of uncommon valour?” Then make it so, whatever the cost. Pass on your heritage, as it was passed on to you.

  10. And so what, exactly? It’s up to you, J.J., to make the case, isn’t it? Presumption of innocence and all that. Assertion and projection is not normally allowed, is it?

You’ll never meet a better Conservative/conservative/Reformer than me (you call it),. I happen to be from Brantford ON, wherein I happen to have met, um, Wayne Gretzky, who is also of a similar persuasion, if he’ll allow me that much.

As I see it, JW-R is on the side of the law, which is very honourable, actually: there is no question in my mind, at this time, that she followed the necessary and prescriptive protocols involved.

And so what if she becomes our adversary? I got big boy pants. Anybody else?

    1. I agree with Maggie about your comment D.S. . Well said. That said I know I’m guilty of having pumped JW-R as a commenter here because she appears to be acting honourably which is quite a surprise for me to acknowledge because I’m very jaded when it comes to most anyone having a Liberal/SJW background. What I do know is that the First Nations women I’ve met do care greatly for the well being of their people – especially the young and I think that concern runs deeper than ideology to the point that there could be common ground found if their kids will have opportunities for decent employment. First Nations conditions in Canada are a huge mess on many levels – addiction, sky high drop out rates, teenage suicide, reserve violence, crushing unemployment, generational welfare dependence, etc. etc. The Liberals haven’t, like with every other file they touch, actually addressed the root causes and help fix the many First Nations’ issues. So there is a real opportunity here for another political leader to get mass First Nation support in their corner and in return getting their support on pipeline projects for the economic benefit of everyone. I’ve seen in the past that good ideas are often initially rejected only to return later and get approved. Just because it’s gonna be hard doesn’t mean the path shouldn’t be tried. Could JW-R or someone like her buy into the idea of shared prosperity? Like Trump says of inner-city blacks and their dead end prospects: what do they have to lose?

  11. What will they say? What they will THINK is that she is only now going about her business as we knew that she always intended, and that she proved a useful foil for us for as long as was convenient. When we do so, at least she is our ideological adversary. What is The Fop’s excuse for having done exactly that to “Jody” already?

What? You lay with pigs, expect to get dirty.

  12. I have no illusions about her politics, but I’m happy to cheer her on as she makes life difficult for Justin.

  13. I have no illusions about her either, but she has 1. knocked Gerald Butts out of politics, at least tempoararily, and 2. exposed the huge sleazy underbelly of SNC-Lavalin. Major public services no matter her motivations.

    1. There’s more to the Butts story than we know; and he hasn’t left politics. We already knew SNC-Lavalin was a liberal crony corporation, like many others.

  14. Having glossed over some of the commentary out there its more a case of the enemy of my enemy scenario.
There is also conjecture that the person in the liberal cabinet that is rumored to have confrontational issues with JWR its Carolyn Bennet.

  15. In response to the question from JJ McCullough, they will say the same thing that the Never Trumpers continue to say in the US. They will laud her non-stop, because after all THEY are no more “conservative” than she is.

The REAL question is how many of them get most of their funding from the tribe? After all they are merely toeing that party’s line…

  16. The Conservatives are using the Wilson Raybould affair as an example of Trudeau’s hypocrisy, it’s not about building her up, it’s about the Liberal cabal using her in their attempted cover-up of what looks and smells like a scandal.
The way Trudeau and his gang are handling the affair is proving they are incompetent and not fit to govern period.

  17. Heh heh heh.

You white guys are purdy worried ’bout our little infill-traitor, huh?

How you gonna get the windigo outta your ti-pi?

    1. I dunno Jimmy. I think the windigo’s been livin’ and lovin’ in the CPC tee-pee for one hell of a long time. It sure has their Liberal leader by the short and curlies anyways. Nothin’ another long pull on a carton of milk can’t fix though, eh?

  18. Seriously, Albertans, why are we still obsessing over this? Let’s get on with the job of winning our freedom!

  19. I do not think too many here were considering the wish that JWR would flip to the CPC as we are well aware that she is not only Liberal and anti-pipeline as well, other than some thought that any disruption to Trudeau’s Liberals was a bonus.

I still think that this sordid affair will get swept under the Laurentian Elite’s rug of Liberal Party misdeeds.

  20. The only advantage arising out of this affair for the conservative side is that right now the liberals are into the first shots of a civil war.
Some in the party see her as the enemy some see her as saint, many more are trying to keep mum and wait to join the victory parade.
On one side you have a woman who believes she has been wrongly accused on the other you have JWR.

  21. She’s a complete whackadoo. She’s also the kind you buy off. She’s the best evidence for how completely incompetent the Telford PMO really is. They could have bought her silence by appointing her as a judge and no doubt there were other possibilities. As always this PMO is the gang that couldn’t shoot straight.
