  1. Campaign Research poll found the Scheer Conservatives have now taken a decisive lead.

The party now enjoys the support of roughly 37 percent of voters, while the Liberals hit a new low of 32 percent.

    https://www.thepostmillennial.com/poll-conservatives-would-form-government-if-elections-were-held-today/

I know, I know, polls are fickle at best. Shiny Pony will toss his hair and the media will swoon and the poll will reverse itself again. 100 day rule.

    1. I agree. I have been spot checking the broadcast media, since the House Justice Committee hearings were rigged, and CBC and CTV News have lost interest in discussing the scandal. The Globe and Mail has been doggedly researching the in and outs of the sleaze, to its credit. But you’re right as to that this whole thing will peeter out.

Part of the problem is that the scandal is complex. It is one of internal justice discussions and applications, something average Canadians are not familiar with. A second problem is that the Liberals have a monopoly on internal government information. The public service is all pro-Liberal, and they will assist in covering things up. And the media is mostly pro-Liberal. One irony is that the Globe and Mail is doing the real investigative work, yet it is as pro-Liberal as a newspaper can be. Conservative media lack the needed investigative skills to do much spade work. — David Murrell in Fredericton.

      1. DM – I agree with your assessment and would add this.

The complexity of the issue may escape the scrutiny of the average voter but the seriousness of the allegations should not escape the opposition parties or the media that has the wherewithal to investigate. Lisa Raitt is a lawyer. This is a mountain worth dying on for her career.

The game breaking deal here is JWR herself. To this point she has taken a battering from the PM and the LPC who have ‘rallied’ around the PM. I don’t believe this situation will continue much longer. She is, in my opinion going to speak out and when she does everything will be off the table. It may happen as early as this week when parliament reconvenes.

    2. The Government Controlled media in Canada will be out sniffing everywhere preparing for the election fight to bring down the Sheep Shearer Scheer. Coming into election season they will have their dossiers and files ready drip drip drip. All the media is against him and all conservatives. Canada’s sheep will run from the Scheerer as scandal after scandal all mostly manufactured will drown him and his flock. Prediction you will vote Liberal and you will vote Trudeau yet again.

    3. Even so, it’s incredible. This government should not even be in sight of any opposition party their lead out to be so big. The Liberals should be unassailable. They would be if they were half-competent.

They can still do the right thing and save themselves: dump Trudeau.

  2. If the voters vote for this incompetent government we can only deduct stupidity begets stupidity. When you have incompetence and the appearance of corruption added in we have to up our game and support the only real alternative.
This amateur gang we elected could be material for the Keystone Cops, it’s a gong show, the PM is in the leading role and can’t remember his lines.

    1. Let’s KILL the Liberal Stupid Tax!!!

Let’s start a campaign to have Canadians donate all or part of their Liberal Climate Stupid Tax Refund to the Conservatives or any party that pledges to kill the Stupid Tax!

Hit the Libranos where it hurts the most.

      Our pocketbook.

    2. “..the appearance of corruption..”

      Are you kidding me, “APPEARANCE”..????

They hid the Criminal Code Revision in an OmniBus bill to HIDE IT from Prying EYES.!

Then Tinkerbell attempts to put pressure on her to use said new Provision en masse to let said SNC Execs out from under prosecution. I’d be curious btw, as to How much $$$ has in the past 2 yrs gone into Justins Trust fund via SNC..? Anyway, she says nope, not gonna do it, gets demoted and now has resigned and retained Legal Counsel no less…, Gee, I wonder why.?

Lets keep in mind that this Bill went through and was signed into Law by Sep 2018.
Jody Wilson was still the AG when that bill went through. As such SHE Knew DAMNED well what that said revision was & most likely knew damned well for WHOM it was directed to as well. SNC Lavalin being likely the largest lobby group on the Hill for the past 2-3 yrs.

So not only is the PMO (Gerald Butts & Katie Telford),complicit in this ROT, she too needs to be sworm in UNDER OATH and Testify.

Anyone that does not understand the level of OUTRIGHT corruption in QUEBEC is a DAILY Commonplace, has Obviously NEVER worked there. GRAFT, BRIBES, PAYOLA, GIFTS, Under the Table Deals – Being on the TAKE is COMMON Practice in Quebec business. Its Province Wide, reaches into the Highest office in the Province (as can be seen by the Premiers & Pundits latest comments), and bleeds into those Eastern Ontario towns that border Quebec….I’ve seen it first hand.
      MAFIA INC.

Appearance..? my (_i_)….Its not like we’ve never seen this from the FRENCH Quebec based Libs before now have we..??? As for the Globe n Mail. HUGE Kudos to them..!!
I may even buy a subscription.

        1. Joe, if you drop the bits of the URL betweeen https:/ and /calgarysun.com then google doesn’t get to track you. Well, depending on the browser, doesn’t get to track you as much.

  3. I found this somewhat unnerving…

ThisPersonDoesNotExist.com uses AI to generate endless fake faces.

    https://www.theverge.com/tldr/2019/2/15/18226005/ai-generated-fake-people-portraits-thispersondoesnotexist-stylegan

“Then there are the downsides. As we’ve seen in discussions about deepfakes (which use GANs to paste people’s faces onto target videos, often in order to create non-consensual pornography), the ability to manipulate and generate realistic imagery at scale is going to have a huge effect on how modern societies think about evidence and trust. Such software could also be extremely useful for creating political propaganda and influence campaigns.

In other words, …. is just the polite introduction to this new technology. The rude awakening comes later.”

    1. THAT would be AWESOME! Enabling me to make ALL the so-called “homophobic” remarks I choose on the Daily Mail which has BANNED ME from comments … because I simply said I wasn’t interested in seeing a kiss by Abby Wambach put on her wife after the women’s World Cup. It would give me great delight to comment again on the DM … esp. on all their TDS articles … at least a dozen per day. Thank God for alternatives such as Gab. This would be a GREAT alternative to “Discuss” … which I refuse to use.

    2. Having been De-Platformed from Twitter. I had the audacity to question the predominance of Trans folks. BAMN gone…but I think that somone (Cdn LIBERAL – one of G. Butts Minions – its his way), in a Twitter Basement somehwere was actively looking for something to use against me…that tweet was over 4 months old and yet it was the reason”they” chose. Fcuk Twitter anyway. Nazi outfit as is FB to an extent.

      THIS is HUGE..!!
      Thanks for posting this WATCHER..!!

    1. Most Native women are brutalized by Native men. Year after year the same stupid marches and commissions and yet they know the truth and will not say it. Victimology is an artform in Canada.

      1. Your right Watcher. The rez is rampant with wife beaters, rapists, child sexual exploitation, neglect, alcoholism, drug abuse – you name it. I’ve been in the north on the remote reservations. They are not a pretty place. It’s tragic.

The preposterous notion that these are independent nations is laughable. The native community is 100% totally dependent on government. If you added up all the social workers, community care, medical, police, teachers and every support person that government supplies to every ‘nation’ across the land they would probably outnumber the native population itself!.

        1. I would give them all 1 generation to become Canadian. They are not a Nation. They are the Ultimate Welfare Bums. The Indian Welfare and Payola scam is almost equal to the National Defense Budget now.

    2. Brazeau and now JWR…PM Justupid apparently likes pummeling Indigenous folk. I would expect the
First Nations to pick up on this, and maybe register a racism concern.

    3. I am disgusted at Turdeau and all his Liberal supporters, including those people protesting the cartoons.

    4. I’m impressed with the Cartoonist…give em hell.
Those protesting have SFA better to do and ones that ACTIVELY seek out something to foam at the mouth about. Fcuk them…

Not a one has ever had a backbone in their singleminded lives, totally incapable of seeing the TRUTH being depicted… they disgust me with their spurious complaints.

  4. The Yellow Vest Deplorables Protests continue in France. This is directly the result of France allowing Moslem No Go Zones. When they ceded this to the Moslem’s they gave up France. Now they will blame Italy and recalled their Ambassador in protest of Italian Politicians seen with Yellow Vests. This is really 4th Gen. Warfare. The fall of France and the EU has begun. It will end in a Multicult War now. The Police have brutalized the Frenchman for legitimate protests and allowed the Moslem’s in France to rape and brutalize and have No Go Zones. Eventually the Yellow Vests will strike back violently in revolt against their Globalist Masters. Read up on 4th Gen Warfare. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-02-15/italian-meddling-french-maidan-when-will-russia-be-accused

    1. I’m waiting for muslims to declare abortion un-Islamic and:
      a) take it to human rights tribunals,
      b) take to the street in protest

In either case I will tell the left, you’re on your own. You made the mess, you deal with it.

  5. For those following the SNC-Lavalin trail, you may find the attached BBC piece of interest. A major power plant is (still) under construction by SNC in South Africa. Scheduled to be completed in 2015, it’s still years away. Oh, did I mention a one Billion Rand bribe ($96 million CDN) paid by…um…someone? A good insight into this jewel in Turdeau’s crown.

  6. The Democrats have finally outdone the RINO GOP in one decisive skill – losing elections before they start.

Reagan on walls. Thugs storming Normandy. Philosophers putting new deal green men on the moon. Mandellan race-baiters.

“Tear down that border wall: Is Beto’s battle cry the new Dem litmus test for 2020?”

During an interview in his hometown on Thursday, MSNBC host Chris Hayes asked O’Rourke: “If you could, would you take the wall down here — knock it down?”

“Yes, absolutely,” answered O’Rourke, who is widely thought to be a potential candidate in 2020 but has not formally announced his intention to run. “I’d take the wall down.”

The hilarity continues. Because Dems recognized the border problem and did nothing, it’s now a “fake crisis,” with fake dead people, fake pedophiles and fake fentanyl. Just ask Jim Accosted. Beto may have eclipsed AOC in moral relativism over reality.

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tear-down-that-border-wall-the-new-dem-litmus-test

    1. The Wall is highly unpopular. There’s no reason to believe Beto is losing anything in this particular move.

      1. But they want secure borders, and that includes, walls, fences etc. Your ilk conflates that then speaks for public opinion.

But I say to the DeMarxists, by all means if you feel that way, go for it. My advice is usurping Trump-speak is precisely the wrong approach, but I give that strategy my full blessings. Scream it from the rooftops and while straddling the fence.

      2. Beto got whipped by Ted Cruz and nobody likes Ted Cruz. Beto is a freakish looking guy with lots of family money.

  7. The Altering of the Deal

    http://www.conservativehq.com/article/29691-fake-border-security-bill

    Excerpts;

Liberal local officials have veto power over wall: Actually, on second thought, it’s likely that not a single mile of fence will be built. Section 232(a) of this bill states that “prior to use of any funds made available by this Act for the construction of physical barriers” the Department of Homeland Security “shall confer and seek to reach mutual agreement regarding the design and alignment of physical barriers within that city.” With whom must the feds consult? “The local elected officials.” Now you can understand the brilliance of limiting the wall to the Rio Grande Valley. These are the most liberal counties on the border (thanks to demographics of open borders itself!), and there is practically no local official who supports the wall in these counties.

Section 224(a) prohibits the deportation of anyone who is sponsoring an “unaccompanied” minor illegal alien – or who says they might sponsor a UAC, or lives in a household with a UAC, or a household that potentially might sponsor a UAC. It’s truly difficult to understate the betrayal behind this provision.

“We can call this the MS-13 Household Protection Act of 2019,” said Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies. “We know that 80 percent of the UAC sponsors are in the country illegally. The number of people this would protect would reach into the hundreds of thousands,

Moreover, this bill will likely override Trump’s executive powers because of the sneaky limitations on wall construction. This is the sort of omnibus bill that ensnared Reagan in Iran-Contra. Signing this bill will undermine his case for an emergency at the border both legally and politically.

  8. Trump Keeps Doubling Down On The Same Failed Strategy

    https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/trump-border-wall-national-emergency/

“In the 2018 midterms, Republicans lost independents by 12 percentage points, contributing to a 40-seat loss in the House. The key facet of the midterms is that turnout was very high, including among the Republican base. But it was also high among the Democratic base, and Republicans badly lost independents. The base alone isn’t enough to win national elections, especially for Republicans, since fewer voters identify as Republicans than as Democrats.”

    1. Remember how he lost the election with these same failed strategies? He had no path to victory, except for victory itself.

I agree the Dems have nothing to fear except Trump victory itself.

Pretending the southern border is a fake crisis to cover doing nothing to protect the US people is an obvious winning strategy.

BTW, Unyou, I await your poll showing the majority of Americans want to “tear down that wall.”

  9. Here’s a dueling poll for you.

“A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters think border security is a vital national security interest for the United States these days. Thirty-three percent (33%) disagree.”

How do we interpret that? Let’s see – Trump wins the debate hands down and crushes the statist hypocrites. Works for me.

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/immigration/february_2019/voters_rate_border_security_as_important_as_north_korea_to_national_security

Wow, the same majority who don’t want the wall? How can that be? It depends on the question.

Funny how 60% apparently don’t want to build the wall, but would re-elect him easily with 50% approval with a highly motivated vote with non-approvers jumping in.

Polling is suspect iow, and can depend on an agenda. I’ll take Rasmussen over the statist and Untidy moral logic any time.

The DeMarxists should run on full socialism, the coercive state, and tearing down their border, while declaring war on Russia.

    1. I’ll take 538 instead. They actually know what they’re doing, unlike Rasmussen. The data is clear that this is another loser for Trump.

“Border security” is about as statist as it gets.

      1. UnPC, just how long do you think the welfare state can last with open borders?
        Serious question.
No room for spin and lies and unsupported denials, just name a timeline.

      2. Oh OK. Any survey or poll you talk about, posted or not, is “invalid” because it doesn’t support my opinion. Got it.
Again, Unyum, why do you assume people are as ignorant, biased and unhinged as you?
Your border security as statist semantics is simply your BS semantics, your flippant opposition to reality.
There is a difference, which you are clearly unaware of, between statism and the nation state.
What do you want to be when you grow up, btw, or at least when and if you abandon your adult infancy?

My advice is, instead of playing gotcha with your nonsense, you redouble your efforts to prove the moon landing never happened, that 9/11 was an inside job, and that the earth is, like your so-called arguments, flat.

    1. Environmentalism 101 – if you want to stop a project just drop a couple of arrowheads near where ground is disturbed. Then “find” them

  10. Pat Caddell, frequent pundit on Fox News and CNN, has passed away, at 68. He always made sense and was a Dem who differed from the current lot and wasn’t afraid to say so. R.I.P. Pat! You’re missed.

    From PJ Media:

“Patrick Caddell, the political pollster who helped send an obscure peanut farmer named Jimmy Carter to the White House, later became disillusioned with fellow Democrats and finally veered to advise supporters of Donald J. Trump, died on Saturday in Charleston, S.C. He was 68. His death, from complications of a stroke, was confirmed by a colleague, Prof. Kendra Stewart of the College of Charleston.”

  11. The border with Mexico is approximately 2,000 miles long. About 700 miles are already fenced. The rest is fenced but its basically a cattle fence with a barrier made of rail road track that sits about 3′ off the ground. This stops the pickup trucks from cutting the fence and driving across.

The fence is monitored electronically. It also travels through some wild remote country. If you show up with a set of Princess Auto fence pliers you’d be through the fence in a minute. There are listening devices that would alert the border patrol but it’s a rough country up in the mountains and you’d have a pretty good head start. I’ve been in southern Arizona at the border in the mountains. In a lot of places there is no water. It’s cold at night. You’d have to be good to make it to civilization ahead of the federales.

Wonder who built the 700 miles of secure fence? Dems or the GOP?
