64 Replies to ““Organic” Is The Latin Word For “Grown In Pig Shit””

  1. By all means let’s drive down demand for meat. More for me and mine at lower prices. Bonus.

  2. At some point the left will have power and they will be into population reduction because … climate change.
They will put it in our food or medicine or water …. beware of flu shots etc. I don’t trust anything anymore.

    1. The means for population control have already been introduced recently in New York state and Virginia. This murderous proposal {law} is just the beginning.

  3. But I thought roundup was so bad it stayed in the human body for decades? Where do they get this 90% horse shit number from?

    1. Same place they get all this other anti-GMO, anti-vax, anti-chemical, anti-liberal democracy, AGW, anti-oil, pretty much anti-everything horseshit from.

  4. I love bacon.
Also, living in Perth County, Ontario, on a farm, I can say that pig shit is sprayed on pretty much every field, twice every year. Organic waste control measures require manure to be used up or disposed of. Cheaper to spray and spread it (cow, chicken, etc.).

So, it’s not just organic farms that use it. All of them do.

Organic is crap, though. Expensive, no more nutritious, and lower yields per acre by far.

    1. Hit the Nail on the Head..

“Organic” is for those that love to Virtue Signal at 4 X the cost and tell the rest of us deplorables to not eat what has sustained mankind for decades…all the while increasing our longetivity.

Mind you, reducing Carbs/Wheat is in itself not a bad thing to do…Carbs are not completely out of our menu…but we predominately eat tons of bacon, beef, chicken, dairy, eggs and lots of greens…and wine, ya just gotta have a nice btl on the go..for mental stability of course.

    2. I used to play a game in the back of my daddy’s pickup truck on the way to a picnic area.
I would guess which farm animals matched the scent of the newly applied organic fertilizer.

pig poop was, well, ummm the ‘strongest’ smell.

  5. A physician who is … science challenged. Evidence challenged. Data challenged.

A physician who treats by myth and innuendo. She’s a freaking Witch Doctor!!! The EXACT kind of “medicine” Obamakkare promised to deliver … along with the “natural pharmacology” of “medical” marijuana. She should lose her license.

    Excerpt;

The same nutrients that glyphosate chelates and deprives plants are also vital for human and animal health. These include iron, zinc, copper, manganese, magnesium, calcium, boron, and others. Deficiencies of these elements in our diets, alone or in combination, are known to interfere with vital enzyme systems and cause a long list of disorders and diseases.

Alzheimer’s, for example, is linked with reduced copper and magnesium. Don Huber points out that this disease has jumped 9000% since 1990.

Manganese, zinc, and copper are also vital for proper functioning of the SOD (superoxide dismustase) cycle. This is key for stemming inflammation and is an important component in detoxifying unwanted chemical compounds in humans and animals.

Glyphosate-induced mineral deficiencies can easily go unidentified and untreated. Even when laboratory tests are done, they can sometimes detect adequate mineral levels, but miss the fact that glyphosate has already rendered them unusable.

Glyphosate can tie up minerals for years and years, essentially removing them from the pool of nutrients available for plants, animals, and humans. If we combine the more than 135 million pounds of glyphosate-based herbicides applied in the US in 2010 with total applications over the past 30 years, we may have already eliminated millions of pounds of nutrients from our food supply.

This loss is something we simply can’t afford. We’re already suffering from progressive nutrient deprivation even without Roundup. In a UK study, for example, they found between 16-76% less nutrients in 1991, compared to levels in the same foods in 1940.

Roundup Ready crops dominate US livestock feed. Soy and corn are most prevalent–93% of US soy and nearly 70% of corn are Roundup Ready. Animals are also fed derivatives of the other three Roundup Ready crops: canola, sugar beets, and cottonseed. Nutrient loss from glyphosate can therefore be severe.

This is especially true for manganese (Mn), which is not only chelated by glyphosate, but also reduced in Roundup Ready plants (see photo). One veterinarian finds low manganese in every livestock liver he measures. Another vet sent the liver of a stillborn calf out for testing. The lab report stated: No Detectible Levels of Manganese–in spite of the fact that the mineral was in adequate concentrations in his region. When that vet started adding manganese to the feed of a herd, disease rates dropped from a staggering 20% to less than ?%.

Veterinarians who started their practice after GMOs were introduced in 1996 might assume that many chronic or acute animal disorders are common and to be expected. But several older vets have stated flat out that animals have gotten much sicker since GMOs came on the scene. And when they switch livestock from GMO to non-GMO feed, the improvement in health is dramatic. Unfortunately, no one is tracking this, nor is anyone looking at the impacts of consuming milk and meat from GM-fed animals.

    1. So Stradivarious, how’s that new handle working out for you?
You seem to like names that end in ious, how precious.

    2. In my own yard, I have two choices regarding weeds and other invasive plants:

      1. Pull the weeds by hand, not get all the roots and pull them out again and again and again and again … for the rest of my life

      2. Spray Roundup on them liberally, on a dry sunny day, and kill them completely. Kill them to the very end of their roots, and never see them again.

      I choose #2.

      1. Exactly. Glyphosate neutralizes when it hits soil, it is only effective on green stuff.

      2. I got a jug of roundup in 2007 and dated it.
12 yrs old. tested it 2 yrs ago, works fine.
I actually follow directions. thats why I still have some.
my weed strategy is to pull the thing out, but I choose large plant veggies like pole beans, lots of asparagus, tomatoes, etc.
I also grow my own oregano and a couple others.

        times up!!! ttyall later !!!

    3. “And when they switch livestock from GMO to non-GMO feed, the improvement in health is dramatic. Unfortunately, no one is tracking this”.

If no one is tracking this, how can there be a dramatic improvement in health?

      1. Anecdotal evidence … anecdotal … evidence … anec do tal
And the average citizen thinks that is a “medical” term. So their proof is all medical and whatnot

    4. Interestingly, the latest research links hyperinsulinemia to Alzheimer’s. Of course, hyperinsulinemia, obesity, and eventually type 2 diabetes, is caused by excessive carbohydrate intake; And the western world has a problem with excessive carbs due to the “settled science” of Ancel Keys and the war on fat.

      1. The only diet I have ever see work…Keeto.

        Hi fat
        Hi Protein
        Hi Greens – Lentils etc.
Meats of all kinds, Fish, Dairy, Eggs…
Low to non existant carbs..(but I still think ya need some..)

  7. 1. Pull the weeds by hand, not get all the roots and pull them out again and again and again and again … for the rest of my life

Gen_3:19  In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

    1. I wonder if Jesus would be happy or sad that BIG AGRIBUSINESS and BIG CHEMISTRY … has managed to FEED THE WORLD … and virtually ERASE HUNGER? Or would He get all legalistic by stretching some irrelevant passage in Genesis that “demands” sweat equity weed removal?

      1. Jesus answers you…

        Matthew 6:25-33
        (25)  Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
        (26)  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
        (27)  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
        (28)  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
        (29)  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
        (30)  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
        (31)  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
        (32)  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
        (33)  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

        1. So … you’re misunderstanding Christ’s words of man’s Spirituality and need for God … as Christ WARNING us to eat “organic” and herbicide-free? You shall know your pretzel logic, and your pretzel logic will enslave you for all life and eternity

  8. Kate is very critical of main-stream science about so-called climate change.
She is, however, 100% in agreement with main-stream science on glyphosate.
I wonder if the difference is explained by her investigation of the relevant science or by the blinders provided by her culture in rural Saskatchewan.
    I rather suspect the latter.
Her trust in industry-driven science is touching.
    Rob S.

    1. I would say it’s more a case of Kate being very critical of populist left-wing pseudoscience.

  9. I’m certain 🙂 echinacea tea will cure any ill effects from round up exposure. 🙂

    Or garlic!

  10. We have an organic garden (horse shit, not pig shit). In the winter we grow vegetables in a hydroponic garden. I’ve only had Alzheimer’s twice so I’m pretty sure if you switch from pig shit to horse shit all your worries will grow away.

Also, if you have ever been to a grocery store and looked in other people’s grocery carts you will understand why we are so unhealthy. My favorite was a woman who had several 2 liter bottles of pop, many bags of chips and a giant bag of toilet paper. I wanted to say “looks like you’ve got all the bases covered”. Then the cashier asked me if I was diabetic. She went on to say that people with diabetes “eat what you eat”. I wanted to make fun of the lady with the toilet paper (in my defense) but having Alzheimer’s I couldn’t remember a good come-back.

  11. Industry driven science…yeah, no bias there. Just as global warming theories have no bias toward taxation…

Rev 18:23  And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

    sorceries = G5331
    φαρμακεία
    pharmakeia
    far-mak-i’-ah
From G5332; medication (“pharmacy”), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): – sorcery, witchcraft.

    1. What does the light of a candle or bridegrooms and brides have to do with pharmacies?

Of course, Roman Catholicism has cathedrals with candles in them, and bridegrooms and brides…

  12. The one tweet to the good ‘doctor’ sums it up well, quack, quack, quack.

It is unbelievable how much Luddite/Malthusian thinking has taken hold in many areas. Right in there with the anti-vax bunch of nuts.

  13. When I go to Safeway I always ask the clerk where the in-organic carrots are. They always look dumbfounded, as there isn’t such a thing as in-organic carrots, They are all Organic. So I always buy the cheapest ones as they have the same nutritional value and I save money.

I hate it when marketers try to redefine words in the dictionary, If they want to say they are selling carrots that are pesticide free then just say it but , don’t try to pull the wool over the consumers eyes by being shifty and supposedly clever and purposely misleading by calling a carrot organic. All vegetables are organic……

    1. You took the words out of my mouth…I’ve asked more than once where the silica based foods (non organic), are….that always prompts a thousand yard stare..Huh…???

“organic” – “green” – all of it nothing but Bullshit to justify 4 X the price.

I figure to Stick to non processed foods as best as I can, and I’m sure we’ll all live well into our 80’s – 90’s.

  14. Glyphosate is used as a preharvest dry-down aid in grain producing areas with a shorter growing season. In these areas the crop is cut and windrowed before it’s run through the combine. Most American grain has enough time to adequately dry while standing and does not require the use of glyphosate to speed up the process. If you’ve ever seen commercials, or the like, that show combines marching through standing wheat, with headers turning and cutter bars snipping off the wheat you’d be familiar with what standard harvest looks like.

  15. https://www.naturalnews.com/056079_glyphosate_environmental_damage_toxic_herbicides.html

“Scientists for Monsanto – the most hated corporation in the world – insist that glyphosate is safe because it targets a metabolic system called the shikamate pathway – which humans and animals lack. Yet the trillions of beneficial bacteria in the human digestive tract do have this pathway – and disrupting it can have catastrophic consequences.

“In truth: Glyphosate harms critical beneficial bacteria, causing an overgrowth of pathogens, which in turn produce toxic phenols that cause inflammation … .”

    1. “the main ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide – is a particularly toxic substance that causes a range of health problems in humans, including cancer, autism, birth defects and at least a dozen other serious illnesses”
Well precocius various stradivarious, the name may change but your tactics never do.
You link the bat shit craziest stuff and wonder why people on this site make fun of it.

      1. Or it could be the glyphosate chelation making the copper and magnesium unavailable to the body….contributing to the development of Alzheimers 🙂

    2. “Rotenone was widely used in the US as an organic pesticide for decades Because it is natural in origin, occurring in the roots and stems of a small number of subtropical plants, it was considered “safe” as well as “organic”. However, research has shown that rotenone is highly dangerous because it kills by attacking mitochondria, the energy powerhouses of all living cells. Research found that exposure to rotenone caused Parkinson’s Disease-like symptoms in rats and had the potential to kill many species, including humans.”
Scientific American Myth Busting 101: Organic Farming
most people think organic farming means “pesticide free”… now why would that be?

    1. So we overthrew the Libyan government and put in power people who condoned slavery. Now we are taking in the slaves. How about we, and our allies, resist the urge to invade shit hole countries? The unintended consequences always seem greater than the original problem.

  16. No, it’s not really Luddite thinking; it’s rational distrust of industrial medicine and biased, profit-driven “science.”

  17. Scientific American stayes clearly that there is no more residue of pesticides in conventionally grown food than in organic food in the market, essentially none. You can find the article and read it yourself.
