  5. The US constitution is probably the best out there; but they did not get much right. Seems like the only thing they really nailed was the second amendment. Armed citizens, means your country is free. After that, their government is as much leviathan as anywhere on the planet.

    How do you stop incompetents from getting elected? You can’t.
    How do you stop thieves from getting elected? You can’t.
    How do you stop government demanding more? You can’t, but you are able to deny them.

    This is really the only real control you have over government, the only limit you can actually exercise control over.

    But the only way is hard and unchangeable limits.

    I think the first limit you have to impose on government, is that government cannot employ more than some hard limit; and that limit cannot be changed. Say, 0.05% of the population. All levels and branches together; federal, state, county, municipal, executive, judicial, legislative, all rolled together. If your country has a billion people, then the maximum size of government, all levels together, is half a million employees. So, a town of 2000 people, could have a mayor, or a judge; and that is it for government type of thing. A town of 4000 people could have a mayor and a sheriff.

    The second thing you have to limit, is who can levy taxes on you. There should be exactly one entity that can tax you; and it should be as close to you as possible. If you want two levels of government, or 3, or 4, then all those other levels have to come begging to the levels below them. So say your town levies taxes, and everyone in town is within walking distance of the mayor. Then, the provincial government has to come begging to your mayor for cash, they cannot coerce you in any way. The federal government has to take whatever scraps the provinces are willing to part with. If the next town over decides they want free daycare for everyone, and free cars, and a $56,000 minimum wage, and crap like that, then it only affects that town. They could ask your mayor for money, but he should say no; only an idiot agrees to equalization.

      Are you familiar with the rest of the Bill of Rights? You can’t really believe that the right to property and protection of that property are meaningless? It is impossible to imagine the United States growing from a tiny group of AC colonies to the richest nation in the world without the US Constitution.

      And the amendment that freed the slaves also freed the nation from the certain prospect of a race war in America.

      The constitution set up a society in which the rights of the individual were respected, and where individuals could rise by their own efforts. That is the primary reason America has not been plagued by the repeated revolutions and unstable governments that have been the norm in Europe, and is also the reason why Europeans stopped slaughtering each other once they reached America. The Irish, could ignore the traditional contempt the English held for them, once they reached the United States, because the English there could not hold them down.

      The US Constitution made possible the building of a great, free, and wealthy nation. The second amendment was necessary but not sufficient to achieve those ends.

        How many people work for all levels of government in the US? Is it half of the adult population yet? A million in the army, a million in the navy, a million in the marines, a million in the air force, a million judges, a million tax collectors, a million teachers, a million public prosecutors, a million EPA lawyers, a million legislators, … How much freedom do you think you actually have?

        Is the US past a million rules and regulations on the books yet?

          You stop violations of the takings clause (such as eminent domain abuse) by electing people President who will appoint judges faithful to the constitution and not make it up as they go along to fit the agenda of the left.     Ralph Goodale says the groups promote hate, which manifests itself in violent anti-Semitism or in crimes such as the deadly van attack along Yonge Street in Toronto.

    He says people involved in such attacks may have acted as individuals but were inspired by what they saw on the Internet.

    Goodale says the federal government is working with Internet providers to eliminate the issue.

    He says Internet providers have an obligation to make sure they don’t provide a platform for spreading fear and hate.

    Goodale made the comments during a speech on national security at the University of Regina.

Justin Trudeau to the tune of $10.5 million.

    No mention of P.M. Justin Trudeau accepting Islamic State jihadis back into Canada as a potential terrorist threat! Nor of P.M. Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government of failing to deprive them of Canadian citizenship and deport most of them with dual citizenship.

    No mention of the Syrian “refugee” in Canada for 3 months in 2017, who is charged with the kidnapping, rape and murder of 13 yr. old Marissa Chen in Burnaby, B.C. . What would the crime records of Justin’s “refugees” actually be in Canada. What about the illegal migrants walking across the border(50 percent have a known/traceable criminal record, according to the Border Services employee union press conference.

    Neither does the Minister of Public Safety mention the danger to Muslim women in Canada of honour killings, e.i. Aqsa Parvez (murdered by her father for the crime of refusing to wear the hijab, of that of the 3 Shafia teen girls for being “honour killed” for being too Westernized in their dress and actions. How that is used as a threat to restrict the freedom/rights of Muslim girls and women. No mention by Goodale about the Sharia practice of polygamy in Canada(recent CBC story). No mention of Canadian little girls suffering Female Genital Mutilation in Islamic communities in Canada(story in Toronto Star).

    As for Goodale’s mythical “white supremacist” concern, every Toronto Sun story about the record homicides in 2018, shows the overwhelming victims and accused are black and/or Muslim migrants killed in internecine drug gangs wars. Truly tragic for all involved and for the GTA, but none of the record homicides there involve the Liberal Cult. Marxist straw man of white supremacists.

    Clearly, Ralph Goodale isn’t a Minister of Public Safety or he’d address the out of control drug gangs running and ruining large areas of urban Canada. Low income Canadians living in their cities’ “The Hood” trying to survive and raise a children in an area infested with drug gangs and/or Islamist radicals. These largely immigrant communities in the big cities. Where is the Liberal government’s action to protect them? They get neglected, criminally so, by the willful blindness of Liberal government identity politics.

    I’d chide Minister Ralph Goodale “Don’t bear false witness against your neighbour.” But close analysis shows that is the entire motivation behind identity group politics in Cult. Marxism.

Trudeau’s government paid 4.9 billion dollars to buy the pipeline, now the first nations want to buy it for a similar amount. The only problem is the first nations only source of income is government handouts. So if this deal goes through then the taxpayer will have paid 9.8 billion for the pipeline. Gee I hope this doesn’t put a damper on little Justin’s talk to the kiddies in Quebec today. If China acted this way to Trump, massive tariffs would be put on China and a couple of aircraft carriers would be sitting off the coast.

          I noticed that some tiny bits of their music has been played everywhere over the years, such as in commercials. One tends to wonder where they heard the bit, but just can’t place it. Sometimes this falls into place and you get that ‘ah ha’ moment, other times it bugs the hell out of you, to no avail.
          It’s about the music. So you saw them in person. How nice, good for you!

    1. I have mixed feelings on this. It does seem like it was a particularly viscious “joke”. Politicians are fair game, and groups are fair game (ethnic groups, racial stereotypes,etc.), but in my view, but vulnerable individuals are not. I would say he went too far.
