What appears to be happening to Macron is “a preference cascade”. Something everyone knows but keeps to himself that suddenly emerges when people suddenly realize that everyone is thinking the same thing.
 
Outwardly the conventional wisdom: high taxes, crippling Green regulations, open borders were unassailable, seemingly universally held. But under the surface the peons were seething while the riche were oblivious because they could afford to be.
 
Macron, the media — nobody saw it coming. Nobody really predicts anything. Pearl Harbor, Hitler’s invasion of Russia, the fall of the USSR, 9/11, 2008, Brexit or Hillary’s loss. The really important info is not what you know but what you’ve ignored.

  1. The Media of Cuba North are not showing how grave the Tax Rebellion really is, I guess they have been told by their new political masters Trudeau not to disturb the so far docile Canadian Sheep. The sheep raise their heads then continue to graze.

      1. The French Deplorables are not buying what Macron is selling. Macron offered temporary suspension of carbon fuel taxes and the protesters walked out. It is a color revolution against the Globalists. The sheep have turned in the loading chute to fight their tormentors. Like cornered rats they have turned to fight.   2. Something similar happened in Romania in December 1989.

    Like Macron, Nicolae Ceauşescu had gone abroad on business, confident that the business of putting down anti-communist riots in Timişoara was a straightforward enough task to leave to his idiotic ex-prostitute wife. She failed utterly.

    Ceauşescu returned from Iran on December 20 to find that rioting had spread to the capital. He and his wife were driven from Bucharest on the 22nd and on the 25th they were summarily executed by their own soldiers.

    Nobody saw that coming either.

      That sounds about right. From what I heard, she wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.

      I recall that she was only a shop assistant who didn’t even finish the equivalent of high school. Because of her political activity, she got to know the right people in the party and her meteoric rise began.

      Thanks to the government propaganda bureau, her education was inflated into her being an engineer or scientist with a Ph. D. She was the “author” of a number of publications, but those were actually written by nameless functionaries.

      Initially there were only about 20 supporters/protestors – that’s all it took to capture the attention of the populace and it snowballed from there.

  3. This situation reminds me of what happened in France during the summer of 1968. The country was nearly brought to its knees.

    I think it was during that time that de Gaulle remarked about his job, stating how difficult it was to run a country that had some 250 varieties of cheese.

    2. most know my opinion of the Canadian intellect and you are correct, Canadians are stupid enough to accept any lies that are thrown their way. they have never been confronted with a tax they would not pay or a socialist government that they would not re-elect at some point in time. strange qualities for a supposed free people.

  6. I believe a fair number of people had predicted ALL those cataclysmic events. However, the dominant media voices who are nothing more than simpleton scribes for the establishment … FAILed to predict these events. In fact they predicted the exact OPPOSITE of these events. The power elites control the narrative as they are want to do. However the complicity of the lapdog media is shameful and unforgivable.

      1. Even though she was right. Which, unfortunately, reinforces what T bone said above, about Canadians. We’ll be the corollary, unfortunately – we won’t rise up against PM Castreau’s idiotic schemes even they are idiotic.

    Perhaps these three issues are indeed top of mind for a large portion of those motivated to protest, but if this has legs as some suggest, these noble causes of anger will likely be subsumed in the fog of the mob. My fear of what might emerge as the causes celebre that follows is what has me watching this unfold.

  9. I watched the ctv news. Lisa la phlegm had a 15 second clip on the riots…..then it was back to bongo.
    The media either doesn’t have a clue or deliberately are under reporting. Probably both.

    1. They’re terrified it will happen here. Hair lisp probably put the word out to keep this under wraps although honestly it’s like a worldwide ban on talking about it.

In a year or so when Turdeau has his media responsibility office up and running, CBC (and all other media) will show the peaceful yellow jacket protests in France with the following voice over, “And in France the population again turned to the streets to show their support for President Macron’s climate plan.”

  11. Tear gassing ambulance people? I suspect that if the “elites” need an ambulance, it going to be REAL SLOW to come now. If theres a break in at Macron’s house? Police response sometime next month… Fire? They’ll get that put out after their holiday to the Caribbean… Or maybe there will be gasoline in the fire hoses.

    There is hope for the world, if France, which has always been more socialist than the USSR, throws off even one link of the chain.

  14. I REALLY hope that the ambulance workers remember this the next time a French cop gets hurt and needs their assistance.
    If you’re a cop, there are certain groups you NEVER want to alienate. Other emergency services are at the top of that list.

I fervently wish Canada had the balls to stand up to the Global Warming Pirates with their tax regime to impoverish the middle class and institute a global feudal system. That is what they call globalism. A global ‘democracy’ is, simply, not a viable system for an entire planet.. so it will be a Totalitarian rule complete with continual coups at the upper levels.

    Or … we could have nations responsible for themselves.

    The Earth’s population is in retrograde and will cease to exist at some point. It is stupidity that is going to be our undoing.
