    The last 1minute futuristic fear. Gov’t, Tech and A.I. merger into one.(IMO, not greatly different than what Obama was doing, the very earliest of that cabal of a merger)

    If that were to ever happen,,,, Gov’t, Tech and A.I. merge in a global sense,,,, Humanity would forever be enslaved.

      Given his long ‘unstable’ history, Glenn Beck is the last person I expected to see linked to the phrase “Sober Discussion”. Where I generally respect people with the sense and humility to admit when they are wrong and then adjust their beliefs accordingly, Beck instead seems addicted to emotionally lurching from epiphany to epiphany. A smart man with a troubled mind. IMO, anyways.

  5. Glenn Beck has a new book (September 2018) entitled :
    “Addicted to Outrage: How Thinking Like a Recovering Addict Can Heal the Country.” He challenges people on both sides of the aisle to give up the addiction to outrage. America is at the height of a 20 year bender and an intervention is needed.

    (Glenn supported Darrell Castle – of the
    Constitutional Party, in last election because his chosen candidate, Ted Cruz, eventually went in support of DJT.)

    Essentially, we have to look to historical events. In this discussion they mention how the Left Progressive Radicals try to silence people who are essentially Conservative. The vast majority of people are the “exhausted class” who are afraid to speak at all, but when push comes to shove, the latter group will come through as the righteous of the nation, for the sake of humanity. ( example, people like Abe Lincoln, M.L.K. and Ghandi.)

    The piece indicated that only about 8% of people are Progressive Radicals, about 29% are Conservative and the rest are in the “Exhausted Class” territory. (out of eight thousand people surveyed)

    It is amazing how the Left leaning Press would have you believe that Progressives are the majority. We ought to be outraged about that!
    In fact, we are!

    ( Yesterday I was in a public place here in Calgary and someone shouted out loud that the P.M. of Canada was nuts. Mostly everyone was in agreement – shouts of ” here, here” were heard. I was shocked but not surprised! HA! )

  6. Thanks Kate & Et Al for bringing this discussion between Dave Rubin and Glen Beck to my attention. I stopped listening to Glen Beck over five years ago. This was when the message he was bringing forward, confiirmed the concerns felt after reading; “The World News Prism” Sixth Edition, published by William A. Hachton & James F. Scotten in 2002.

    You may recall this was around the time when I became a Fan of SDA__ Small Dead Animals __ and the wisdom of standing up for expressing one’s opinion is necessary to confirm one’s self–IMHO– without placing self-interest above all else. The progression of all large Bueaucracies, not just Governments.

    The Rubin/Beck discussion; with Glen Beck placing His opinion forward more often, as is His wont; confirms my thinking Google & “Facebook?” is running fearfully from the inevitable competition, which a Free Society allows to form. Google is now placing its Self-Interest beyond “We The People” in the fear of competition of losing “The Commanding Heights”___ in the evolutionary rise of civilization –{stage of civilization. if you allow}-

    The fear of failure or loss of self-interest control is comparable to assistance by I.B.M. in providing the necessary cataloguing capability of the Third Reich in its descent into Self- Interest. Clearly defined in –Netflix’s; Babylon Berlin– as a Film presentation of the depravity experienced during the 1920’s & 1930’s; when Germany’s turmoil was itensified by the Political culture(s) of self -interest.

    -The “Great Experiment” destroyed for yet another future period for the Ordinary Citizen as Sovereign.
    -Civilization still not acceptable for those given an opportunity to lead the way.
    -Failing the opportunity of take a step forward for HuManKind;
    –Plato’s “The City” insufficienct for the intellectual capability of Greece’s intellectual Class.
    –Death and destruction the ultimate arbitrator; as today’s Nero enters the memor of the ages.

    Yes it’s always splendid when your “own team” wants to shoot you, or in this case impeach you…because you don’t have the correct opinions.
    They tried that with both grandfathers, but inconveniently for the government they both survived the cataclysm.
    Of course my family need to experience more of the same government like a hole in the head…which naturally can also be arranged.
    Wasn’t that Khashoggi guy iced and diced?…oh yeah that was Saudi Arabia where women can now drive.
    There is no doubt, that when you are comparing Justice Kavanaugh to a gang rapist, the “Demo-mob” views him as the next best thing to Roland Freisler…

      According to TMZ, the woman who recorded the incident said the protester slammed his fists on McConnell’s table and threw food out of the restaurant after accusing McConnell of KILLING PEOPLE with his views.

      It would appear the “Demo-mob” lacks simple table manners and need some etiquette schooling.

  9. Beck is thoughtful and interesting although sometimes apocalyptic. His clothes seemed to have a strangely militaristic look leading me to wonder if he is working on a bunker system or something. He also seems like he is always on the verge of an emotional breakdown. He is likely too ethical and principled to appeal to those now immersed in populism.

  10. As far as I can remember when I first and last listened to him. Glenn Beck is a former Roman Catholic who is married to a Mormon. If he is following the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (and he is), it explains a lot.
    I stopped listening to him years ago. If you think some of what he says doesn’t make sense, think on these things. They (the Mormons) aren’t Christians so it’s no wonder he is confused.
    (I studied the LDS yrs ago when I was using their family history library for research. I”m not going to say they’re “nuts”, but their religion is. The young men who come to your door only know their Book of Mormon and their own teachings, so speak the Bible to them gently but firmly. )

    1. I worked for a man whose wife was the daughter of one of the “12 Disciples” of the LDS hierarchy. Yes. They’re nuts, and I watched as he used his religion to financially RUIN young subcontractors from Utah. His behaviour in the name of the church was despicable. He lined his own pockets (and tithes to the church) at the expense of young families that he destroyed. Oh, and he defrauded investors out of $ Millions … before they seized the properties, legally, that they’d invested in.

      Any church which requires a “temple card” … literally … a credit card with magnetic strip collecting data on your tithing … to gain access to the church is sick in the head. Sick.

      But don’t get me wrong … most Mormons I’ve met are wonderful people who treasure the same family values I do. Most are truly … “my people”. But I doubt many of them have studied the core beliefs and foundation of their cult, er church.

      1. Your comments remind me of something that happened in the area where I grew up around the time I finished high school in the early 1970s.

        A number of Mormon families had recently moved to the area from Utah. Eventually, their reason for coming was published in the local newspaper. They wanted to start a massive cattle operation in the area and they approached some of the local farmers and ranchers to see if they wanted to sell their properties.

        However, all was not what it seemed to be. It turned out those same families were a few steps ahead of the law and the gendarmes eventually caught up with them. Their proposed cattle empire was little more than a bunko operation and those families quietly disappeared from the area.

  12. I must say I disagree with the “both sides must cool it” preaching. It is the left that is going ballistic and unstable; the “right” is just normal people wanting to be left alone. Remember the stat Beck used, that I had also heard from the same source, 8% are rabid lefties; 29% are right wing. Those 8% are driving the Dementocrats and the other 92% away from same; people like Pelosi, Feinstein and low IQ Maxime are simply trying to ride the tiger.

    There comes a point where regular folk cannot be pushed further and the US is at that point I think; but it is not the right that is doing the pushing or threatening the constitution.

  14. Just as with his outrage-fueled opinion of Trump … Beck is WRONG about the Dem’s taking the House in the midterms. Why? Because I’ve seen this movie before. The American Voter is NOT motivated by HATE (the Dem’s “platform” for this election). The American people will not FLOOD the Polling Stations motivated by HATE for Trump.

    Obama caused a massive SPIKE in voting, like I’ve never witnessed in my entire voting life. I’ve voted in the same polling station … in the same church auditorium … for the last 35 years (yeah, I am a VERY stable … genius). I witnessed the most overwhelming increase in voters … literally … 10x the normal voter traffic in my polling place casting votes FOR Obama in 2008. And I’ve seen nothing like it ever since … nope, not even for Obama’s re-election.

    The American people CAN be motivated by positivity. Hope, Change, and the First Affirmative-Action, er … “black” President, motivates voters. HATING Trump will NOT motivate the voters (except the Trump voters … who will be voting to KEEP the positivity of PDJT).

    The “Blue Wave” is going the way of the “Blue Firewall” States … a nonexistent notion. Rubin is more correct than that LOON, Beck … that the Dem’s will be forced to regroup and reconsider their message of RACISM and their spokesmodel Maxime Watters …

    JOBS not MOBS … positivity … is a CORE American Value
