  1. I have a question for leftists/liberals defending Google, facebook and other tech giants

Imagine that right after his presidency Trump’s fortune explodes and he become the richest man on earth, he then buys google, facebook, twitter and a few other tech giants

he then makes them change algorythns to make sure liberal voices and opinions are suppressed, he makes them trick search results so that only positive news about conservatives appear and only negative news about liberals appears in search results

he bans or censors left wing sites

and so on and so forth

now… would you be telling us those are private companies and to leave Trump alone?

would you fight for Trump’s right to run his social platforms the way he wishes to run them?

    1. Well … I know they’d demand his tax returns and claim he obtained all the money for the purchase from … wait for it … Russia! And specifically, his buddy Putin

  2. These companies have to make a choice: if they continue to stifle one side, then they are leaving themselves open for aiding and abetting charges for the illegal acts of the other side (Antifa or BLM, anyone?). If they are not responsible for what is posted then they cannot take it upon themselves to censor ideologies. Community standards about sex/violence/drugs/barbarity are one thing, but who was Alex Jones threatening? Whether there’s merit to his ideas can be discussed, but (to the best of my knowledge) he was not doing or promoting anything illegal.

I don’t know if the left doesn’t see this, or that they don’t want to see this.

    1. “… I don’t know if the left doesn’t see this, or that they don’t want to see this.”
It’s the left. They don’t care.

  3. Google did not help me at all when I wanted buildroot to use 1.1.0 of openssl instead of 1.0.2. Screw those guys.

  4. The LEFT is so far left they made sure that Americans elected a Muslim President. Twice. If any question was asked about Obama, they screamed “racist” at bullhorn levels. It’s a bit easier to gain perspective from Canada. That said, Canadians voted for a bunch of communist globalists disguised as liberals.

GOOGLE was crucial in dragging everything to the left. They skewed the searches. They celebrated leftist icons with their daily sketches and comments as soon as their page appeared. They minimized traditional holidays and patriotic heroes. Google was and is on the front lines of the culture wars. Every battle in the war was rewritten by the left. They scrub youtube videos overnight. One day a whole category of my carefully saved favorites disappeared. Google sucketh.

  5. For an encore, the left will finally re-discover property rights the day President Trump orders the nationalization of Google and Facebook.

  6. Imagine a world where telephone calls to other conservatives or Republicans were banned and / or the volume was reduced so low you could not be heard? If this is untenable, why is what Google, Facebook, twitter, YouTube doing okay? Time to break them up!

    1. Because there was only one phone company, with a government-enforced monopoly on service.

Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube et al do not have monopolies over communication over the Internet. They don’t even have monopolies in their own market domains.

The fact that conservatives adamantly refuse to educate themselves about how the Internet works is why whether your side wins or loses this fight, you’re still going to lose.

      1. How convenient to use the phone company example,

        what about Standard oil?

they were not the only oil company, thus technically did not have a monopoly, but they had dirty tricks, for example they would buy ALL the barrels so that their competitors could not find barrels to transport their oil, thus could not sell their oil.

technically they were not a monopoly and they were not the only oil company, but they had so much money and power that they had almost complete control of the oil market as if they were the only company, as if they had a 100% monopoly

        but you are a leftist

I am wasting my time using facts and logic

people like you can not be educated or made to think logically and rarely are honest.

You probably have never heard of Standard Oil

or maybe you have, but since Standard Oil and many other cases like it do not help you make your ridiculous and totally wrong point, you cherry picked one that could help you.

A company does NOT have to be the only one around to hold a monopoly, you know it, stop lying.

here is the definition of monopoly ; Market situation where one producer (or a group of producers acting in concert) controls supply of a good or service, and where the entry of new producers is prevented or highly restricted

HIGHLY RESTRICTED…that is what google, facebook and twitter and a few other tech giants are doing

        stop lying

      2. Actually google facebook and other tech giants are both a case of monopoly and oligopoly.

…” … Historically a prime example of an oligopoly has been the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) where a limited number of countries have dictated oil production and prices to the global economy. … ” …

Google, Facebook and other tech giants are dictating how we should think, they are imposing liberalism on us the way OPEC was imposing a price on us as when in 1973 they raised prices by 300% and no one could do anything

when a very small number of people hold control of a market ( or hold 90 or 95% of it , no need for 100% ) they collude with each other to do whatever they want and we the consumers are helpless

Google, facebook and other tech giants are both a monopoly and a oligopoly and they are rich enough and powerfull enough and are colluding with each other to silence non-liberal voices.

        Deny it, call me names

        be a typical leftoid

  7. so yet again, the hard right call is to regulate google, fakebook, twitter.
    ?
b-b-b-but . . . . DEREGULATION is de rigeur in uber conservatist ronnie raygun’s day.
    so whut happened?
and where is ol’ Miltie Friedman in this? ‘the market the market the market’ ????
hey-o rightie, yer hypocrisy is showing like the ass crack on a hip hopper fashionista.
