  1. Great article from Jack Baruth on Kids in Cages and DadLogic:

    An excerpt:

    ” ‘Dad, I want a puppy.’

“Who’s going to feed the puppy? Who’s going to pay the puppy’s medical bills? When the puppy reaches 100 pounds and drops turds the size of footballs, who’s going to clean it up? What happens when we go on vacation?” DadLogic sucked, because it immediately poked a hundred holes in your best ideas. But we were all lucky to have it, because DadLogic is the necessary counterpart to feminine/childish/impulsive emotion. Without DadLogic, your family goes bankrupt, kids get hurt, mistakes are made that are permanent and unfixable. With perhaps two exceptions, every school shooter in the past fifty years has been raised in a family with no DadLogic. Children who don’t get a dose of that unpleasant DadLogic are statistically far more likely to spend their lives in prison or end their lives early via violence or stupidity. As fathers, we want to think that our children need our love. They do, but more than that they need our logic.”

    1. Wouldn’t it be nice if ‘DadLogic’ were a consistently real thing.

Just “having a dad” doesn’t assure anything, although it has a statistically proven advantage. How much ‘DadLogic’ do you expect today’s metrosexual millennial men to be able to conjure? Too many ‘modern families’ treat their kids almost like equals and in the process undermine their own authority. Authority that is needed to teach them valuable life tools like discipline, patience, respect, etc..

Ha, I have known of many households where MomLogic is what ruled and the fathers rebelled by giving the kids what the mother wouldn’t…. behind her back. My good neighbors across the way are now veteran grandparents and she still complains about how her husband always played ‘good cop’ so that she was forced to always be the ‘bad cop’, back when their brood was still young.

      1. I was a single parent (single Mom sounds so low-class) because the father would not own up to his responsibilities. I always set boundaries for my daughter and there were real consequences for bad behaviour. Yes, I was also Mom – encouraging and supporting, but I also set the punishments. When she was 15, I informed her that this would be the last time I paid for her passport or paid for her vacation – when she was 16, her allowance would disappear and I expected her to have a summer job. She did well in school and university and now at 28, works as a computer programmer and is married. I did my job as a parent – both Mom and Dad.

  2. “I’m going to put this in boldface, so you understand it — there is an effectively unlimited supply of people who want to live in the United States.”

By contrast, the number of foreigners with any real business settling permanently in the United States or Canada—mostly the wives of US and Canadian citizens—is vanishingly small.

Of course, because most of these wives will be from parts of Europe where people have no use for “diversity,” and their children might grow up to complete for a globalist’s little emperor’s place at Harvard or Yale, under no circumstances are the foreign wives of white Canadians and Americans to be given visas.

    1. Huh. He’s white for a change.

Probably why he was apprehended so quickly. People are less afraid to report suspicious activity by whites. Less fear they’ll be laughed off as racist.

We may even learn which eco-terrorist group he works for—and the names of the globalists who fund it.

Perhaps a research grant is in order for any scientists willing to tell the truth about how many US and Canadian forest and brush fires are the work of terrorists and saboteurs, not mother nature. Fort Mac was Arab sabotage. Guaranteed.

  5. This article makes no sense to me. China is going to have to buy its soya beans from some country other than the USA (because of new tariffs) in order to grow enough meat to feed its people. OK so far. But China could also increase its imports of meat from countries such as Canada, thus lessening the need for soya bean imports. OK, still with you. But China has implemented a program to reduce meat consumption by 50%, so increasing meat imports won’t be necessary. Huh? Then why would importing soya beans be such a problem? And on it goes with the Don Pittis logic machine.

    1. That headline is misleading and completely uncalled for. I guess with the media, criticizing Harper for anything and everything is too much of an ingrained habit to ever change. They have really mischaracterized the event. Shame on them. Possibly the problem is Harper being in the news in a context where Justin is screwing up big-time. It is embarrassing for Liberals.

    OPENING PARAGRAPH

Singapore has been in the news for other reasons recently, but its appearance on the world stage, however brief, may provide us with an excuse to consider the views on Islam of the founding father of Singapore, and its longest-serving Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew, who died in 2015. Lee Kuan Yew lived in a multicultural city, with a Chinese majority and Indian and Muslim Malay minorities. All his political life, Lee Kuan Yew was aware of the need to keep the Muslim population in check. The laws he had passed, the regulations he enforced, were directed in large part to that end. He knew about Muslim efforts to convert others, and he made sure that any convert had to immediately register with the government, so such efforts could be monitored, and then countered, by the government. A study of all the ways that Lee Kuan Yew dealt with Muslims, and took careful note of, and combated, their natural aggressiveness and political machinations in tiny Singapore, an island of mostly Unbelievers — 3/4 of whom are Chinese — in a Muslim sea, should be instructive for Western leaders, who have the same problem and as yet only timid and confused ideas as to how to solve it.

But do RTWT to get the key no-nonsense details.

    1. Why do you think there is a city state called Singapore in the first place?

When the British left, the city of Singapore ran a great risk of being swarmed in the Muslim country of Malaysia. Lee Kuan Yew, et al. carved out the tiny islands that Singapore is on, to create an independent country. Not only does it have perhaps one sixth Muslim, it is situated between the Muslim countries of Malaysia, and Indonesia across the strait. It has to be vigilant. I have not heard much about Malaysia, and it seems to be relatively benign. But the country that holds Obama’s citizenship, via his stepfather, has been persecuting Christians for decades.

  10. To change the subject, I am sure many of you have noticed the strange goings on in the World Cup. Here, in descending order, is what the top 20 ranked teams by FIFA have done:

Germany — did not get out of group play
Brazil — qualified for the next round
Belgium — qualified in injury time for the next round by the skin of its teeth.
Portugal — eliminated in first knockout round.
Argentina — eliminated in first knockout round.
Switzerland — eliminated in first knockout round.
France — qualified for the next round by defeating a higher ranked team.
Poland — did not get out of group play.
Chile — did not qualify for the World Cup finals.
Spain — eliminated in first knockout round.
Peru — did not get out of group play.
Denmark — eliminated in first knockout round.
England — will play Colombia for next round. One of them will be eliminated.
Uruguay — qualified for the next round by defeating a higher ranked team.
Mexico — eliminated in first knockout round.
Colombia — will play England for next round. One of them will be eliminated.
Netherlands, Wales, Italy — did not qualify for the World Cup finals.
Croatia — qualified for the next round by defeating a higher ranked team.
#24 Sweden — qualified for the next round by defeating a higher ranked team.
#70 Russia — qualified for the next round by defeating a higher ranked team.

So far, only Brazil and Belgium, and the latter barely, have qualified for the next round NOT by defeating a higher ranked team. England could join that list.

Genetically engineered “golden rice” suffers “metabolic meltdown” and devastating yield plunge as GE technology goes horribly wrong

Supporters of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have long claimed that Golden Rice is key in alleviating vitamin A deficiency, but it turns out that’s not at all the case.

According to a new report by Indian researchers, the genes necessary to produce Golden Rice cause unintended side effects, Independent Science News reported recently.

When scientists introduced the genetically-engineered DNA “their high-yielding and agronomically superior Indian rice variety became pale and stunted, flowering was delayed and the roots grew abnormally,” the site reported.

Also, crop yields were so dramatically scaled back that they were not even suitable for cultivation, scientists noted.

Big Ag and GMO pushers like Syngenta and Monsanto claim that vitamin A can be enhanced through the introduction of GMOs. And for years, that scientific dogma has been accepted as fact.

But it isn’t true, and continuing research is proving that. In 2016, Washington University in St. Louis noted that the promise of GMO-laden Golden Rice was not living up to the hype

    1. so who is monsanto going to sue now that the VERY flawed dna is ‘out there’?

    “Augusta grapples with recycling woes

Years of efforts to persuade Ontario residents to recycle are being derailed by the waste industry’s decision to accept only certain types of plastics, according to Augusta Mayor Doug Malanka.

The recycling industry’s new profit-driven rules mean that mountains of plastics that used to be recycled are now heading to landfill sites instead, Malanka told council on Tuesday.

This flies in the face of years of government attempts to promote recycling, but the government seems either unaware of the problem or unable to act, Malanka said.

The problem starts with China, which has accepted 45 per cent of the world’s plastic since 1992. This year, however, China blocked its borders to most of that waste, forcing countries to look elsewhere.

For the Ontario waste industry, it means that only certain kinds of recycled material remain profitable, so companies are refusing to take plastics that they once readily accepted.”

How Trump’s tariffs and WTO threats fuel China’s Belt and Road Initiative

Just when the BRI is struggling, U.S. trade policy, especially President Trump’s tariffs and reported threats to withdraw from the World Trade Organization (WTO), might unwittingly give it a boost.

Rising tariffs could shift supply chains, pushing China and BRI countries closer together. On Thursday, for example, China is expected to impose an additional 25% import tax on more than 500 U.S. goods, including soybeans. Naturally, Beijing will look to substitute some U.S. imports with goods from elsewhere. A loss for American farmers could be a boon for Kazakhstan and other countries that have been deepening their transportation ties with China through the BRI.

But China is not only using the BRI to build roads, railway and other “hard” infrastructure. Increasingly, it is also promoting “soft” infrastructure, including trade and investment rules that reflect its own interests. The United States has won 85% of the cases it has brought at the WTO, significantly higher than China’s 66% record. Unsatisfied with the status quo, China is setting up two courts at home to settle cross-border disputes along the BRI. Talk of withdrawing from the WTO gives Beijing’s hollow substitutes unwarranted opportunity.
