  1. Scratch a liberal hard enough, and you’ll uncover a pedo. Every single blessed time.

A certain Yuri Dmitriyev has spent the last twenty years passing off a mass grave of Finnish Nazis killed in Soviet Karelia during the war as victims of Stalin’s purges. Annual gatherings there have turned into a rally for globalist and anti-Russian causes.

Turns out that as soon as his daughter moved out, Yuri bought a three-year-old from a disreputable orphanage to use as a punching bag and sex slave.

    1. So Finns who fought to defend their homeland from the Soviets are labelled Nazis now are they?

      1. I really doubt there was a single Finnish Nazi. They disagreed with Russians attacking and killing them.

      2. Exactly. Anyone to the right of Lenin and Mao is a Nazi. Mannerheim made an uncomfortable deal for military hardware aid and troops only to regain the Soviets took in the 1940 Winter War.

        1. Let me remind you that:

          1. Modern Finland only came into existence after the October Revolution, handed over to the Germans in the Bolsheviks’ humiliating pullout from the Great War.

          2. Spare me your talk of how the “freedom fighters” were so reluctant to ally with Germany. With few exceptions, they agreed with the Nazis that communism was a Jewish conspiracy. Their top, if not only priority was to exterminate Russia’s Jews. Not freedom for their peoples, whom the Germans planned to deport to Siberia anyway.

          1. Simple History 101

In November 1939 the USSR (pop. 168 million) attacked Finland (pop. 4 million) without provocation. The Finns fought back. The war ended after a few months, with the Soviets grabbing 11% of Finland.

Finland has wronged us. Josef Stalin.

          2. Hey A Can idiot, you do realize that them “Finish Nazis” haven’t been killing Finish Jews?
Oh and BTW until summer 1941 your pall Stalin was Hitlers most reliable ally.
Siberian Mongols weren’t the good guys in WWII. Fns were. Now kindly FOAD.

          3. Mostly bull on number 2.

The only part you got right was Finland becoming independent after the collapse of the Russian Empire and its own White versus Red civil war. Finland got some equipment, munitions, and a few ‘volunteers’ from German forces still in the Baltic region after the November Armistice. Even the British navy gave some unofficial aid to the White Finns. Mannheim led the White side and was Finland’s military leader again in the Winter War and in the German Barbarossa campaign.

  2. Apparently if you are to the right of Vladimir Lenin this is what the left thinks of you. How dare you or anyone support President Trump or America by wearing a MAGA ball cap. The MAGA cap is now the new Mein Kampf.

“The MAGA hat has come to symbolize racism, bigotry, islamaphobia [sic], misogyny, white supremacy, homophobia. As a person with a strong moral backbone, I had to take a stand against this guest’s choice of headwear while in my former place of work,” he wrote.”

    1. What do you expect? It happened in Vancouver, a city that figures that Lenin didn’t go far enough to implement communism. I found that out when I was a grad student at UBC nearly 40 years ago.

      1. Ah yes, the MAGA cap is the new ‘counterrevolutionary’, a ‘White Guard’. Pick your epithet.

Our attitudes are noticed you know.

    2. …and another prole learns a most valuable lesson: You don’t shit where you eat.

      1. I don’t think he learned anything about his own intolerance. Said he was right and therefore will continue to eat his own shit as all intolerant haters do.

        1. Hey you can dine out free in Hongcouver for the mere price of virtue signalling. The red hat cost another dufus his job in the Disunited States, some reporter at (IIRC) a Springfield MO newspaper just made up the factoid that the Annapolis newspaper shooter had dropped his MAGA cap on the floor early in the event. Turns out he just wanted that to be true, now his 21 year career in urinalism has ended. So either way, a real hat or no hat, the Trumpophobes are losing. But only from an outside vantage point.

    3. If you wear a MAGA hate, you are signalling that you’re retarded and unfit as normal human company. I would not let such ‘people’ into any established run by me either.

        1. Nope that’s also stupid, but in a less ‘Full Retard’ way, more of a hipsterish way.

    1. I dunno about that, Jordan, I am a bit of an amateur psychologist and I know that everyone to my left is nuts in the head.

What do the Ontario Liberals and a Dodge Caravan have in common?

    7 seats.

    1. As a dodge caravan owner I could add they also have a general all around crapiness,

    2. She could have asked what do they have in common with an electric car? … They’ll run up your hydro bill.

  4. With the Senate Committee hearings being conducted south of the border it would appear that there are going to be a lots of closets opened up that would have evidently been sealed shut under another president. The Obama administrations officers at the FBI and at the DOJ, not to mention the IRS are perhaps about to find Karma sitting on their front steps in the next few weeks.

When Obama weaponized the IRS, FBI and the DOJ to ensure a political outcome there was no way of knowing how this was all going to shake out, but at the moment it does not look good for certain people. Some one should have told them that when you start a witch hunt you don’t go hunting a warlock

Karma can be such a b*tch!

  5. Canada puts a tariff on ketchup coming from the US and Heinz closes it’s plant in Leamington Ontario. That folk’s is what passes as business acumen in Canada.

    1. “Canada puts a tariff on ketchup coming from the US and Heinz closes it’s plant in Leamington”

The tariff goes on tomorrow. I started buying French’s ketchup when the Leamington plant shut down 4 years ago. You getting a head start on smoking Justin’s weed?

  6. Wow, you’d think the following was put on by tRUDEau – the LIEberals and the Notley Dictator Party (NDP) of Alberta.

This will put tRUDEau on the map and Just-in could be offered Chair-person of the UN – will garner more votes than Obama(nation), because of tRUDEau’s preaching on this subject presently and proving that it does NOT work. … What could possibly go wrong.

    1. In Dubai. Of course. Real tolerant of them.
How many zeros to the right of the decimal point would accurately portray the number of people on Earth who will ever have the wherewithal to visit Dubai?

      1. Actually, Dubai is the seventh most visited city in the world, according to one survey, mostly by people who like being waited on hand and foot by Indian slaves.

The rest of us look forward to visiting its shattered shell as disaster tourists after the Israelis finally let the UAE have it.

“Few skeptics are as hated and vilified by climate alarmists and global warming fraudsters as Tony Heller of Real Climate Science.

One reason for the hatred is Tony’s voluminous stream of inconvenient climate facts and climate science fraud he exposes day after day at his Real Climate Science blog.

Exposing false predictions and inconvenient climate history

Again and again Heller, a software and programming expert, effectively and convincingly points out that none of the scary predictions made by climate alarmists and media have come true, and that today’s often claimed unprecedented weather extremes have in fact happened many times and long before – even 100 years ago or more when CO2 was low.

As you are about to see, very often the OPPOSITE of what global warming alarmist “scientists” predicted years ago has in fact occurred.

The degree to which the alarmist predictions have been wrong is nothing short of stunning.

Video viewed tens of thousands of times in just days

The latest is a 14-minute video that looks back at the past 30 years of totally failed climate predictions, many made by NASA scientist James Hansen when he testified before Congress in 1988 to warn the world of a coming climate disaster.

The video is a must-see if you haven’t viewed it already, and is certainly one that ought to be sent to your political representatives, or friends and relatives.”

  10. The rest of the story ? Recent headline news shows our bulldog trade negotiators marching through a Sue Saint Mare steel plant of course in a gender / race / religion diverse manner . Off to war they go with a mere 2 billion of taxpayers money . So let’s look at Tenarus , a Luxemberg owned multinational. They produce steel pipe for the oil and gas industry. The story is because of the tariffs they must layoff 50 people . They only recently (November) ramped up production after having downsized during the 2014 oil crash. In the meantime they are engaged in trade actions because they cannot be price competitive against imported products from – you got it – China ! In some case they want protection from product the do not have the capabilities to produce .
Drywall – So how do you like paying 16 dollars for your 8.95 sheet of drywall ?Apparently further protection is needed to protect from cheap imports coming into Western Canada, as it is not yet enough.Nothing to do with the tariffs forthcoming July first .
And lastly how about that dairy ? I just love paying 2.5 times the price of a commodity to protect 10 thousand dairy farmers. I can’t understand why the US ships more dairy into Canada while the people to the South are lined up to buy our products at 2.5 times the price !
But it’s all Trumps fault ! Hold onto your wallets or possibly buy a couple of chickens !

      1. The tariff is actually to prevent U. S drywall from being imported . A little update on Taneras . They have a plant in Mexico . It is bonded and ships tariff free into Canada . Stand’s to benefit hugely from the tariffs .

      2. Not surprising. I was forwarded a shortcut to a youtube video of a Vietnamese (I think – no English in the video) construction crew trying to bend rebar they just bought from China. It didn’t bend, it snapped. What good is Rebar that can’t be formed? But it’s cheap (which is probably how they won the bid), so I hope that the spec included a ductility.

IMHO if someone is offering to sell rebar then it has to be able to work as rebar (including the ability to bend to 90 degrees and back without the iron breaking). If it can’t then it was sold under a false name.

  11. President DONALD J. TRUMP tweeted after his June 12 summit with Kim Jung Un that “there was no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea.”
meanwhile: U.S. intelligence agencies believe that North Korea has increased its production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months.
Looks like Trumpy will have to ramp up sanctions against North Korea and China.

    1. While NK must be watched closely, this assertion is more rumour than fact, so highly unreliable.

Given our unethical media (an “official” said), for now, this remains on the fake news side of the ledger.

Like I said, I’m sure the US is looking very closely at these facilities.

  12. The Altering of the Deal

    http://money.cnn.com/2018/06/26/news/companies/steel-tariffs-job-losses/index.html

Steel tariffs could force the nation’s largest nail manufacturer to close or move to Mexico.
The Mid-Continent Nail plant in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, laid off 60 of its 500 workers last week because of increased steel costs. The company blames the 25% tariff on imported steel. Orders for nails plunged 50% after the company raised its prices to deal with higher steel costs.

  13. The Altering of the Deal

    http://money.cnn.com/2018/06/27/news/baytown-texas-steel-pipe-workers-trump-tariffs/index.html

Texas steel pipe manufacturer becomes casualty of Trump’s trade war

Borusan Mannesmann, which makes pipes for Texas’ oil and gas refineries, estimates that the 25% tariff on imported steel will cost the company up to $35 million a year and kill its plans to expand and hire more workers.

The company imports steel tubing and casing from its parent company in Turkey, and finishes the products at a factory in Baytown. It is seeking an exemption from the tariffs and is awaiting the administration’s decision.

“It would really impact the community, which already has a 10% unemployment rate,” CEO Joel Johnson told CNN’s Poppy Harlow in an interview Wednesday. “We want to grow.”

Borusan Mannesmann is one of about 21,000 US companies that have filed for waivers from the steel and aluminum tariffs. The Commerce Department has granted seven, including Schick Manufacturing, the razor blade producer.

    1. Might have more to do with the “new Attaturk”, running Turkey right now & his intractability vs the US & NATO, plus adventurism in the near ME, than anything to do with China. If I read correctly, the sources for Turkish steel are primarily scrap, mostly from the USA, UK, even Russia.

  14. One of the lies Trumptard’s like to repeat is that the US is in an economic boom. This is false. GDP growth under Trump continues to be miserly: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-06-28/u-s-first-quarter-gdp-growth-revised-down-to-2-on-services

The last few jobs reports have not been very good either.

Inflation might be creeping up to. MAGA! https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-06-12/u-s-inflation-at-six-year-high-eating-away-at-wage-increases

Right now, Canadia is not performing much worse than America: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-06-29/canada-s-economy-shows-surprising-strength-with-april-gdp-gain

    1. “Right now, Canadia is not performing much worse than America”
      — perhaps, but we soon will be given Justin’s abominable handling of the trade file and NAFTA.

      1. America will also suffer for Trump’s even worse handling of trade. Further, I believe Ford will bring at least some sanity to Ontario in the immediate future. To reiterate: there is no reason for optimism about the US economy.

  16. another old beef about the workplace, authority figures, cocky ysm’s (young single males).
I did a LOT of wiring in my time, residential, mostly commercial, a bit of heavy duty industrial.

it occurs to me one day putting in some baseboard heaters, would one of these things work on 110V alone? if the dear old pauper granny had only 1 unused breaker left and could not afford the cost of adding breaker slots to get the job done, is it possible to make the thing function?

    the answer from zhe hexpurts:
    ixnay.
    nein.
    verboten.
    negatory.
horror of horrors, there goes historybuff ansking another dumb Q.

so I bench test my theory at home, aaaaaaand sho ’nuff, out comes the warm air.
and deduce the heater is working, but at half rated capacity. aka V X A = W
but it IS WORKING. as I figured in the first place.
but according to the surrounding apprentices, I am treading on dangerous territory for even *posing* the Q.

I truly dont know what the code says about this; exceeding the voltage is clearly verboten, but ferfcuksake, using a *lower* voltage for a device with NO moving parts that might otherwise stall and seize up, I mean, really, WTF??? the biggest criticism was the the heater would be delivering only HALF the heat. well, what to do about dat?
the answer to that shortcoming got an even fiercer response about amperage bla bla bla.
hint: install a heater rated double that required and at half the voltage, voila!! the wattage is now = to that desired.
skill testing Q: what effect does THAT have on the wiring guage?
I leave that to the experts.

or was it all part of the vastly bigger picture called ‘inflate the cost of the job at every opportunity’ ?

some people really, really, really have a pathological fear of EVER thinking outside the box . . . .

    1. By any means not an electrician but 220 volts isn’t 220 volts – it is 110 volts times 2. (or 120/240 whatever) I think I have seen a 220 volt water heater with 110 volt wiring in a trailer. I put in a 220 breaker and wire to speed it up. Many years ago so I don’t remember precisely.

  17. “What happens when a 240V water heater is connected directly to a 120V breaker in panel?
Answer . You will not pull enough power to properly operate the appliance, and you can damage the electric assembly possibly nullifying the warranty.. Answer . It won’t work very well. You need to get a 220 breaker, which goes across both legs of the 220 panel as opposed to a 110 v breaker which only pulls current from ONE leg of the 220 line. But it won’t burn out anything if you only connect it to 110.”

    http://qa.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_run_a_120V_outlet_off_a_240V_water_well_breaker

  18. Putting a 220/240 volt, 500 watt heater into a 110/115 volt circuit will give you approximately as much heat as two 60 watt bulbs. So why would you spend the money on a heater when two sixty watt bulbs would suffice.

    1. Because you can’t buy 60 watt bulbs for very much longer.

Though I did hear of one company producing a zone heating appliance that screws into a light socket to provide localized heat. It has a heating element inside a glass bulb. Only downside is they apparently glow very brightly.

Otherwise the answer is correct, because 110 will only drive half the current of 220, thus giving you a quarter of the power.

  19. The real Russian collusion.

Released March 1, the report, “Russian Attempts to Influence U.S. Domestic Energy Markets by Exploiting Social Media,” reveals how Russia has teamed up with U.S. and European environmental groups to use such popular outlets as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to turn American public opinion against the domestic oil and natural gas industry.

    http://www.cfact.org/2018/05/13/russian-efforts-to-disrupt-u-s-energy-markets-exposed/
