The whole world knew of the Abedin-Weiner marriage. The bandits of the Afghanistan mountains knew Huma and Anthony were married. The chipmunks of Central Park knew Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin were married. There are anchorites sitting on a tree spike somewhere in a desolate and empty landscape that knew this. Charlie Rose knew it.
However, there was one man, one mind alone, not furnished with that factum. It was the top man at the FBI, the No. 1 sleuth of the greatest investigative institution in all of human history, James Comey.
Rex is the Rembrandt of words, the Ansel Adams of prose. When Rex leaves this mortal coil, I’ll nominate for sainthood myself, even if it means converting to Catholoicism in order to get a papal audience.
I wrote newspaper/magazine columns (small time) for about ten years, off and on, and I’ve always been grateful I was no longer writing them when I first read Mark Steyn and Rex. Most columnists are humorless left wing drones, so they can deny and ignore those talents.

In Rex’s piece, he says that Comey had no idea the Weiner and Abedin were married. Does anyone have a reference for this? Did Comey actually say this at a hearing or write it in an email?

Beautiful..I saw this exact testimony ‘LIVE ‘ on TV at the time and I couldn’t get over Comey’s style and mannerism. He had put on quite an act, all Gomer Pyle esque minus the ” golly-eee” then the how his memory failed him, and the how he wasn’t sure and how he vaguely remembered, and how he thinks, he thought it was.

From what I’ve read, the laptop was initially obtained by the NYPD, who handed it to the FBI (McCabe), who did his best to ignore it for a month.
And the only reason they did address it – with Comey reopening the email investigation – was because the NYPD were wondering what was happening.
Erik Prince said someone in the NYPD told him there were emails on the laptop that would put Clinton in jail.
The FBI made sure that didn’t happen. And Prince was surveilled by the Obama admin days before Trump took over.
A Rex Murphy masterpiece is right. The ‘fundamental change’ promised by Obama was so close to fruition that it is scary to contemplate and the US is not out of the woods yet, but there is hope, tenuous maybe, but hope. The left to this point is just verbalizing openly about overthrowing Trump’s government. The Provisional government might yet prevail over the Bolsheviks.

When I see Rex write a verbose piece on how magestically stupid and self absorbed Justin Trudeau is, and how wholly corrupt the media he writes for is- that led us to the low point of having the office of the prime minister of Canada be desecrated by a truly astonishing level of stupidity and narcissism – a real no holes barred castigation of those who write his cheques, well then we can talk about a masterpiece.
