Driving around in the country of the 905 area (north of Toronto) yesterday I noticed a lack of signage for support of candidates in the upcoming provincial election. Blue signs outnumbered red signs 4 to 1. No orange signs to be seen. But very few signs on people’s lawns. Mostly, signs at stop signs or at corners, probably erected by candidate supporters without any actual voter support.
I am seeing a few lawn signs, but not very many. I am wondering if in the age of strong political divisions people tend to keep their political views “out of sight”. The other potential problem is when a husband and wife do not have the same politics. That keeps signs off of our lawn.
