Rio Tinto bought Alcan which had a smelter in Saguenay. Then again, there’s one in Kitmat as well.

The electrolytic process uses carbon anodes and cathodes. Carbon dioxide is a byproduct of the process.
I’m not sure if we should be thankful that M. Trudeau is only fronting about a third of the project or scandalized that he is not paying the whole shot. After all, it’s for the planet (Gag).
