When you have a literal open border where people simply walk across a gully and are in the system, this was bound to happen. A man wanted in Texas on child pornography charges is in Quebec, having slipped into the country, and is hoping to escape justice by being deported elsewhere.

Uhhhh according to the story they caught and identified the guy immediately after he crossed the border, and are now sending him back. Isn’t that just everything working as intended?
Of course you can argue that even if they caught this one, there may be others that they didn’t catch. But the ease with which they did makes it a really bad example.
I didn’t read that into it. Looks to me like this guy knew his identification prevents him from flying home.
Depending on his immigration status in the US which I do not know, Canada may well deport him to Nigeria because we have an extradition treaty with them as well. Looks to me that this was the plan all along.
I did see that 25,000 went through that “known crossing for asylum” station and there have been a crap ton of Nigerians. Funny that Obama leaving office and Trudeau getting in has created a Nigerian immigration problem for Canada from the US.
I wonder how they all got in the US in the first place? hmmmmm.
So, I don’t think this is a bad example. This is a convicted felon fleeing retribution; the rare instance where you actually know the subject is a baddie. My bet is Canada kicks the can down the road and I’m not so sure there will be anyone waiting for him on the hot tarmac.
If Justin were to ever deport such a person, he would then have to admit that he made and has to own a HUGE mistake.
Decency is NOT the Trudeau way.
