“Ontario deficit will jump to almost $12 billion in 2018: FAO”

“For the second time in a week Ontario’s Liberals were dealt a blow by a legislative watchdog, this time the Financial Accountability Office says the government’s deficit projections are inaccurate.

Just weeks before Ontario’s provincial election, the FAO said Wednesday the province’s deficit will jump to almost $12 billion this year as a result of higher spending in the Liberal government’s 2018 budget and weak revenue gains.”

“The FAO report said the government’s spending plan will add about $70 billion to the province’s net debt, increasing it to almost $400 billion in 2020-21.”

The price of gasoline this week is up 30% from 2016. Are voters ready for more?”

“That’s half the story in Canada. The other half concerns the implications of rising oil and gasoline prices for the country’s Constitution-busting pipeline crisis.”

  3. So the Montreal Gazette, National Post and CBC have carried a story about the real identity of the Daily Stormer poster Zeiger. Presumably he has done nothing illegal, but he writes for the Stormer, seems like he is a neo-Nazi (are they illegal?) and he recruits people by inviting people to hear his ideas. The person being interviewed on the CBC goes so far as to suggest that the recruitment efforts could eventually lead to someone being killed by violence. (Ironically, the original lead comes from Antifa — no threat of violence there! /sarc) While the neo-Nazi ideas are problematical — no doubt about that — I think it is also a problem when the National broadcaster gets involved in exposing people for having the wrong ideas. It has the potential to destroy people’s careers and have them ostracized. (Maybe some of these folks deserve it, I don’t know). There certainly are extremist ideas out there, but attempts to condemn people because of their ideas is a dangerous thing in a free society. The CBC has no trouble ignoring the wrong ideas held by some groups, but does seem prone to go after alt-right (if that is a fair characterization of Daily Stormer and neo-Nazis) and ideas not deemed to be politically correct. The lack of scrutiny of the Southern Poverty anti-conservative hate group is an example of a group on the left that deserves more scrutiny as it is not what it pretends to be. Are we on a slippery slope with this?

    1. If there are any native Hawaiian virgins left in Hawaii, it’s time to toss them in. The native Hawaiian movement demands it. The gods must be appeased and will accept no substitute. It’s culture doncha know.

  4. This Aaron Weir thing… undeniable good news. Their BS is starting to affect THEM. That means THEY now need it to change.

Granted, it is not as urgent as diversity beheadings on the floor of the house; but it is an inch in the correct direction.

    1. NDP made a huge mistake when they got rid of Mulcair. If their error results in Liberals getting another term, it will be terrible for Canada. Where OH where are the Liberals with brains.

  5. The Altering of the Deal

    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/may/3/illegal-immigration-233-pct-april-southwest-border/

Illegal immigration surges 230 percent in April on southwest border

Chief among the loopholes is the de facto “catch-and-release” policy that sees most illegal immigrants caught at the border quickly put back out on the streets, with the hope that they’ll return to be deported later.

Perhaps 75 percent of all migrants caught by Border Patrol agents are given catch and release, said Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, which represents line agents. Knowing they’ll be released rather than quickly deported has served as an enticement for more illegal immigrants to make the journey, he said.

Ian Potter, the vice-president of the National Research Council who has spent 16 months on language training at a cost of more than $90,000 plus salary, has resigned.

He has remained on salary in the range of $168,500 to $202,300, while an acting vice-president has been appointed to replace him and has been doing his job in Ottawa.

    1. Over the years, I’ve had my share of dealings with the National Research Council. Talk about a waste of money!

I don’t think it would be a great loss to Canada if it was shut down and the facilities sold to private companies. Who knows–we might end up with another Bell Labs.

  7. Federal judge questions legitimacy of Special Counsel Mueller’s SCOPE:

“A federal judge on Friday harshly rebuked Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team during a hearing for ex-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort – suggesting they lied about the scope of the investigation, are seeking ‘unfettered power’ and are more interested in bringing down the president.

‘You don’t really care about Mr. Manafort,’ U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III told Mueller’s team. ‘You really care about what information Mr. Manafort can give you to lead you to Mr. Trump and an impeachment, or whatever.’

Further, Ellis demanded to see the unredacted ‘scope memo,’ a document outlining the scope of the special counsel’s Russia probe that congressional Republicans have also sought.”

  8. 1Ki 18:26  And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
1Ki 18:27  And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

Trump Offers Hearty Endorsement Of New Babylon Bee Book

WASHINGTON, D.C.—After addressing the crowd gathered at an event honoring the National Day of Prayer Thursday, Donald Trump took a moment to offer a hearty endorsement of the new book by The Babylon Bee, How To Be A Perfect Christian: Your Comprehensive Guide To Flawless Spiritual Living.

“The Babylon Bee, a truly great website, just wrote a wonderful book, How To Be A Perfect Christian, which is doing really well. These guys are very special and so is their new book…bring it to number one!” he said, holding up a copy of the book provided to him by the publisher.

Trump stated he “really appreciated” the book’s instructions on how to join a church that makes you feel comfortable, worship with your hands raised high like you’re a stock image on a church website, and eliminate egregious sins like dancing, drinking, and playing cards on Sunday.

“Frankly, I wasn’t sure about all the evangelicalism stuff when I became a Christian in order to get elected,” he said in a moment of unguarded authenticity. “Forgiveness? Grace? Who needs it, am I right? But this book showed me that if you just say all the right things and comform to the status quo, you too can be perfect.”

“Many people are saying this book is one of the all-time greats,” he added.

    2. Good. The world needs more church — of the Christian variety. Canada is of course hopeless, but a movement to Christianity in the States could help the world in many ways, not the least of which is the restoration of a moral compass in the West.

Oh. Boo hoo. I think a lot of Albertans are likely to be pretty happy about that. Everyone is getting a bit sick of political correctness (including the gay agenda) being forced on us. Most people are fine with gay people, but the parades turn the whole thing into some kind of compulsory benediction. So good. I suggest that the United PC’s celebrate something else on gay day.
