    Just weeks before Ontario’s provincial election, the FAO said Wednesday the province’s deficit will jump to almost $12 billion this year as a result of higher spending in the Liberal government’s 2018 budget and weak revenue gains.”

  8. So the Montreal Gazette, National Post and CBC have carried a story about the real identity of the Daily Stormer poster Zeiger. Presumably he has done nothing illegal, but he writes for the Stormer, seems like he is a neo-Nazi (are they illegal?) and he recruits people by inviting people to hear his ideas. The person being interviewed on the CBC goes so far as to suggest that the recruitment efforts could eventually lead to someone being killed by violence. (Ironically, the original lead comes from Antifa — no threat of violence there! /sarc) While the neo-Nazi ideas are problematical — no doubt about that — I think it is also a problem when the National broadcaster gets involved in exposing people for having the wrong ideas. It has the potential to destroy people’s careers and have them ostracized. (Maybe some of these folks deserve it, I don’t know). There certainly are extremist ideas out there, but attempts to condemn people because of their ideas is a dangerous thing in a free society. The CBC has no trouble ignoring the wrong ideas held by some groups, but does seem prone to go after alt-right (if that is a fair characterization of Daily Stormer and neo-Nazis) and ideas not deemed to be politically correct. The lack of scrutiny of the Southern Poverty anti-conservative hate group is an example of a group on the left that deserves more scrutiny as it is not what it pretends to be. Are we on a slippery slope with this?

    Granted, it is not as urgent as diversity beheadings on the floor of the house; but it is an inch in the correct direction.

    1. NDP made a huge mistake when they got rid of Mulcair. If their error results in Liberals getting another term, it will be terrible for Canada. Where OH where are the Liberals with brains.

    Ian Potter, the vice-president of the National Research Council who has spent 16 months on language training at a cost of more than $90,000 plus salary, has resigned.

    He has remained on salary in the range of $168,500 to $202,300, while an acting vice-president has been appointed to replace him and has been doing his job in Ottawa.

    2. Over the years, I’ve had my share of dealings with the National Research Council. Talk about a waste of money!

      I don’t think it would be a great loss to Canada if it was shut down and the facilities sold to private companies. Who knows–we might end up with another Bell Labs.

    2. Good. The world needs more church — of the Christian variety. Canada is of course hopeless, but a movement to Christianity in the States could help the world in many ways, not the least of which is the restoration of a moral compass in the West.

    Oh. Boo hoo. I think a lot of Albertans are likely to be pretty happy about that. Everyone is getting a bit sick of political correctness (including the gay agenda) being forced on us. Most people are fine with gay people, but the parades turn the whole thing into some kind of compulsory benediction. So good. I suggest that the United PC’s celebrate something else on gay day.
