    1. Aha! See? Trudeau’s global warming taxes are working.

Of course, only an idiot would want a colder Canada.

Sasse Statement on President’s Reconsideration of TPP

“The best thing the United States can do to push back against Chinese cheating now is to lead the other eleven Pacific nations that believe in free trade and the rule of law. It is good news that today the President directed Larry Kudlow and Ambassador Lighthizer to negotiate U.S. entry into TPP.”

“The real story may be the fact that we have broken the all-time record for consecutive days with the temperatures slipping equal to, or colder than 0 C.”

The National Research Council is keeping one of its vice-presidents on full salary for nearly two years of French language training in Alberta, while covering his private lessons at a cost of $90,000 and counting.

“Language training is a standard part of career development within the Government of Canada.”

    1. How did he get a senior job in the public service in the first place if he didn’t know French? Given his age, no doubt he will finish his French language training, take his pension shortly thereafter, and move on to another crony position.

    2. I’ll bet when he goes back to his job he never even has to use his French. The whole thing is a farce, but the farce has been going on for many years and Francophone’s like it because it means jobs for them.

“11 Saskatchewan communities break decades-old cold records”

“Previous cold records for two cities were set in the 1890s – but only warm records get the limelight.

1 Apr 2018 – On Friday, Meadow Lake, Melfort, Nipawin, Prince Albert, Watrous East and Wynyard set new cold records.

Prince Albert set its lowest record cold at -33.1 C, breaking a record set of -32.8 C in 1890.

On Saturday, Assiniboia, Kindersley, Moose Jaw, Rosetown and Weyburn broke former records as well, with temperatures hovering around the -20 C range.

Moose Jaw also broke a more than century-old record, set in 1899. The temperature at that time was recorded at -22.2 C, while the new record is set at -23.1 C.”

I long stopped making donations myself and, for some reason, I no longer get any mailings from the alumni association–not that I mind.

“Hungary Is Winning Its War on Muslim Immigrants”

“International pressure won’t soften Hungarian hearts. The only thing that can is evidence that aging countries need foreigners.”

“To win parliamentary elections last weekend, Hungary’s ruling party, Fidesz, ran a single-issue campaign against immigrants. That may seem strange in a country with one of the lowest shares of foreign-born population in the developed world and a fertility rate below even the abysmal European average. But it wasn’t a response to demographic facts; it was a cultural crusade that has made Hungary the least refugee-friendly country in Europe.”
