    Make sure your MPPs are put on notice not to back this Liberal proposal. If the ten provinces do agree then you can be sure none will consider separation.

  26. In AB we have had a coupla Somalian communities – Edmonton and Brooks. The Edmonton bunch wage war on each other. The murders largely go unresolved as nobody talks to the police. The Somali sisters gripe about their sons/brothers/fathers being killed but since the tribe does not trust the police…what can be done?
    At one point the leader of the Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean was a cab driver from Edmonton. I’m not making this shit up.
    Brooks used to be a peaceful cow town until slaughter plants were built. It’s dirty hard work and the plants had chronic staffing shortages so the government imported Somali knife men. You can guess what happened once the Somail’s reached critical mass. I know people who moved away from Brooks fearful for the safety of their daughters.
    So if we’re getting more of the same well… I know what to expect.
    Bongo’s need to validate himself is so great that he covets a UN Security Council seat or a Nobel Prize. In his life he has accomplished nothing, and he feels it.

  29. The province’s may have the trump card (no pun intended). Health care is a provincial responsibility. Costs borne by the provinces could (will) become untenable. They could conceivably tell Ottawa to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

If we had a real Conservative party, they would be hammering away at the socialist Libs, that seem to hate lifetime, taxpaying Canadians, who already have average 26 week waits for surgery and for specialist appointments, while millions of Canadians don’t even have a family doctor. Veterans have to sue this lying government for proper care, oh, but Seamus o’queer says he’s reopened those closed offices, so all is well.

  31. A rhetorical question, Dan? We all know that what is passed as the Conservative Party of Canada is now missing in action. There is not one member of that party with enough backbone to espouse the conservative values that helped create this country. Sadly we are the poorer for it. The ‘Diversity is our Strength” mantra has sapped the true conservative values that established Canada as a nation after the First World War and reinforced our position in the world after the Second. Now we are a laughing stock on the world stage, because there is not a conservative in the House that will stand and condemn anything the Liberal party does for fear of being called a white supremist, misogynist, racist, homophobic, islamaphobic, hater, NAZI, take your pick. This from the party that has declared there is no Canadian Identity, and is trying to destroy this country by unlimited immigration and unlimited taxes. The Harper government tried to slowly turn the debacle that past Liberal governments had created around and bring us back to where we were before Trudeau the Senior came on the scene with his vision, a nightmare for many of us, and now we have the Trudeau sequel. Now there is no one in the Canadian scene that is capable of leading us out of this Liberal bondage.

    The list of insults and grievances and wounds inflicted on the west by the cupidity of Ontario and Quebec fills 8000 volumes. And we have never even tried. My prediction is, once again, it ain’t gonna happen.

  36. Words can’t begin to express the short sighted stupidity this decision represents. I’m already doing lists in which one third to one half of the patients speak no English or French whatsoever and have been in the country less than five years. If you think the waiting lists and bed crowding problems in the hospitals are bad now . . . The bigger threat for us, our children and grandchildren is, of course the introduction of highly resistant strains of various infectious diseases including STDs, TB etc. Back in the day the whole purpose for the creation of (most famously) the Ellis Island immigration processing centre in the US and the various centres on the islands in the St. Lawrence in Canada was to check the importation of contagion. People back then knew these things were no joke because they had first hand experience of them. Now the air head in chief is going to import them. In time our offspring will curse his name.

  37. This is not a sensible move. The heartbreaking cases are those where someone is refused admittance because they have a disabled child. It should be possible to deal with these — even on a case by case basis without having to throw the door open to sick elderly people. I do not think this is fair to Canadians, but the Liberals clearly do not care.

  39. The Canadians who were not fooled by the Liberals do not deserve this. Sadly, by the time Trudeau us done, we will have no core culture and our citizenship will be meaningless. Trudeau is not working for what us best for our country. His only constraint is getting re-elected. I am heartsick about what is happening to our country.

  41. The major flaw in the British parliamentary system is the lack of checks and balances. Perhaps this stems from the ‘divine right of kings’ concept, I don’t know. With a majority government prime ministers are free to do what they wish. There is no congress/senate to stop them. Bongo decides it’s happening and…it’s happening.
    I don’t expect too many more initiatives out of bongo as were closing in on the 2019 campaign.

  42. The congress/senate bicamarel arrangement has been a disaster. The USG is bigger and badder than Canada’s, and it’s WAY more difficult to hit the undo button on anything.
    Re: Somalians: there’s no evidence immigrants are pushing up crime at all. Just more outdated racist lies.

Because “feel good” government policies never have unintended consequences. Like every sick and injured person in the world applying for Canadian citizenship so they can get extravagant care for free, along with their welfare cheques. Great stuff Trulander. Now you can spend more time preening in front of the mirror. All that virtue in just one man.

  45. At least in will be the hospitals in Toronto, Redmonton, Vancouver, Montreal, … where the staff will start quitting, the waiting lists will start growing, and the care will disappear.
    Nobody has to be a doctor. Or a nurse. Or a pharmacist. Or an otolaryngologist…
