PS … anyone who doesn’t take any and all Reviews and Rankings on the internet with a giant cube of bovine salt lick … is a MO-ron. Yelp is total CRAP. I wrote two raving positive reviews on Yelp … and even though I offered multiple PROOFS of my patronage … they refused to publish my review because I refused to sign up as a Yelp User. Sorry. I have no interest in being a Yelp User. And the Amazon reviews … mostly nonsensical crap.
I can say that the #1 use I get out of Google Maps is to look at aerial satellite maps and street views of hotels and restaurants I want to reserve. It gives me the REAL world images and photos of my destination … not the carefully cropped photos of beautiful models laughing and enjoying the property. I have discovered multiple such properties to be located next to the railroad tracks, and in the most dodgy neighborhoods in town.

IMDB is like that as well.
I’ve seen movies and TV programs that received ridiculously high ratings but, after I watched them, I thought they were complete rubbish. After a while, I looked for the negative ratings and not only did I find them accurate, they were often more entertaining than the actual shows.
But, the website closed its comments section last year, claiming that it no longer served its “original purpose” or some such thing. Now it seems to hide the negative comments as well, unless, it would appear, one has a registered account.

It would have been funny in a movie maybe but in this day and age it seems dumb, even sad and a waste of energy…but it shows the gullibility and therefore fallibility of people.
