It wasn’t for me. My life has continued to improve and shows no sign of significantly changing around here in my lifetime.
I couldn’t care less what happens in the MidEast. It became obvious long ago that the goal of all participating misgovernments was to basically maintain a status quo that didn’t disrupt anything important economically while continuing to play military misadventures at great profit to the arms-makers.
Yes it’s a good thing Obamba & Hitlery killed off Gadaffi, or someone might have gotten hurt.

It would be difficult to imagine a more barren, unattractive place to live, but they are managing to make it worse.
A few months after Bush War II began in 2003, I was offered a contract to work in Libya. I was out of work at the time and I was starting to get hungry, so to speak.
I had a number of questions concerning my personal safety as well as any support the firm would offer if I ever had any legal or political difficulties.
My contact was evasive and didn’t provide any straight answers. That in itself was enough for me to decline the offer. What clinched it, though, was a terrorist attack in, as I recall, Turkey. That’s when I said, “Thanks, but no thanks.”
I may have been desperate for a paycheque back then but I wasn’t foolish.
“Democracy” … for all these quarreling, warring, terrorizing Muslim Tribes … means that Brand-X Muslims will convert to a Brand-Y Muslim … or Dieeeeee ! Hillary’s “soft”(headed) Democracy in Libya consisted of removing a dictator … then standing back to see if Brand-Y overwhelms Brand-X Islam and wipes them off the planet. Then … Sidney Blumenthal can move in with all his business associates and receive piles of Federal $$$$$ for rebuilding the destruction that Hillary engineered. Hillary is simultaneously a dumb-ass and deeply corrupt. At least Bush installed some form of a Democratic government structure in Iraq. Unfortunately, the ancient Tribal grudges and perpetual terrorist conflict have resulted less in “Democracy” than a continual conflict between family surnames and Su/Sh Muslims.
But what has America learned about the Middle Eastern Muslims ? That they are all clinically insane and out of control. We have learned that the American public is content with a President who uses remote controlled unmanned drones to pick-off threatening Terrorist Muslims. So that has become the template for “taking the Terror War to the home of Terrorism”. Remote control assassination of “high value targets”. The media and Obama’s disciples were completely content with waging the war on Terror in this manner. No weepy-faced news anchors read names of fallen American boys with tolling bells. No, that reaction was reserved for Bush. According to the lapdog Obama media, America lost -0- American boys in 8-years. Obama ceded all actual combat against Islamic nut-jobs to Russia and Assad. America has learned that Muslims will need to be continuously killed before they blow-up infidels, or run us over with delivery trucks … in our countries. We’ve learned that the safest thing to do, is to ban all Muslims from entering our nations
I have no problem with people who come here with skills and education, through the legal immigration process just like most Canadian immigrants did. They will be welcomed if they come here to be Canadians; to respect and honor our cultural values, customs, and laws; to assimilate and integrate into our communities and culture; to become law-abiding productive members of Canadian society.
I DO have a problem with those who come here to take advantage of our generous social benefits; to isolate themselves in enclaves; to set themselves apart by their actions; to disrespect our laws and values; to practice barbaric, aggressive, and oppressive customs, and try to change Canada to be like the shÃtholes they escaped from.
Those who disrespect our laws should be detained, then placed on military transports under armed guard, flown to a military base near their country of origin, and escorted out the front gate and told to never come back.
yeah … you will work with you Muzzie colleagues … right up until they become “radicalized” by some touring Imam … and come to work with a pistol and xtra clips to … “do the work of Allah”.

What am I not understanding. If an unrecognized group of jihadists control an oil port, why would the US or NATO allow one ship in or out. Is it the same reason that they didn’t bomb tank trucks in Iraq or Syria until the Russians started doing it. That reason is that the US has not fought to win since 1945.

I lived and worked in Libya for five years, and Algeria for three, outside of NA I lived and worked in the ME and Islamic parts of SEA for another dozen.
I will tell you without any doubts or hesitation that we DO NOT want any of those cultures here. If Progressive Liberals want cultural change or enrichment, they are plenty free to buy a plane or boat ticket to visit or live full time in any of those countries. Well at least try to.
People like UnoMe and others talk through their ass about other cultures having ZERO real world experience with them. Hands down, they are the greatest danger to Western civilization and should be considered our greatest enemy. Thusly treated as such.
We, and I suppose other Canadian universities, have a considerable number of Libyan students, partly or totally funded by the Libyan government, whatever that is. We don’t ask many questions; the students usually go home to Libya when they finish.
The Libyan government, or at least the Education Ministry, is just another breaucracy, no different from federal and provincial bureaucracies that we also deal with.

What we’ve done is to burn these precious resources as nothing more than kindling for a fire which isn’t going to be put out until there’s nothing left to burn. Dubya lit the first match, Obama and Hillary piled on the kindling. It may be time to recognize that the US doesn’t have the power to turn the whole world into the peaceable kingdom.
No war without a declaration of war as per Article I, Section 8 (irony) of the Constitution. And if war is declared, the adult children of all federal functionaries must be conscripted first regardless of marital status or purported disabilities (Oxford studies and heel spurs come to mind).
