  1. Interesting question from Steve Bannon. How does a lawyer who works in Washington for $165,000 per year end up with a net worth of $5 million after 10 years and $15 million after 20 years.
Anyone earning $165,000 should be able to save $65,000 per year which would make them worth $1 million after 10 years – maybe.
This is the question I have for Hillary Clinton. How did she become so rich almost solely as a public servant for over 30 years?

  2. Great video. Talk about a guy who gets it. My question is whether his challenge can be met.
As one who was involved with Reform pretty much from the beginning I have to say that we failed. Yes, we organized right down to the poll level and the grassroots support for that was enormous. We knew a year before the general election that we would win our riding. We actually gave money to other races we were so confident.
What happened? Manning decided/advocated for a national party. Some of us wanted a western party that would move into provincial and even municipal politics. True grassroots that would feed all levels of government with the same message. A failure of both leadership and membership that it did not happen. The grassroots were to willing to take top down messaging which ironically was one of the reasons Reform was started.
Who were Reforms biggest challenges? The education system which is dominated by progressives; media, again dominated by progressives; government bureaucracy, again dominated by progressives. Eventually even the Reform Party was infiltrated by progressive elements determined to alter the direction of the Party. Not all these forces are driven by philosophical commitment. Many of these people are active because it feeds their families and frankly they are not qualified to do anything else. Conservatism by nature culls inefficiencies or it should. The full benefit of peoples endeavors should stay with those who created it. Many people do not agree with that premise and actively work to slice their piece off.
I have a tough time agreeing with Steve Bannon’s conviction that the tide can be turned. It failed in Canada even after electing a supposed party that supported these changes. There is no serious effort to change things in Canada. There are people in the USA that might have an impact and I suggest the Koch brothers are at the head of the pack. However, their success to date is limited.

  3. “When two-thirds or three-quarters of the CEOs in Silicon Valley are from South Asia or from Asia, I think . . . A country is more than an economy. We’re a civic society.”
    Steve Bannon

  4. All you had to do to know Bannon was just listen to BB News Daily on Sirius. His support for Trump existed long before the primaries began in earnest. His politics came out whenever one of us callers would head in a favorable direction.
Even Alex Marlowe now is worth listening to.

  5. It doesn’t take a Harvard education to understand TANSTAAFL. Nothing is “FREE”. And in fact, the more “FREE” something is … the MORE it will COST in the long run. Sadly, our skools have been teaching just the opposite. We have a Generation or more of Americans who believe they can actually DEMAND, GET, and SUSTAIN … FREE STUFF. To further the reeducation of Gen. Zero, Obama has facilitated the illusion of a FREE college education. We have “graduated” years of classes who received what they perceived to be FREE college. FREE room, board, and expenses with nary a bill, for 5, 6, and more years … until 6 months after they “graduate”. Only then do they realize they have been USED by a bloated college bureaucracy, bloated professor salaries, and bloated Federal Dept. of education. Used as a new vector of support of the Socialist States of America. Obama insisted that not only could millions of Americans receive FREE medical insurance, but every family would even SAVE money ($ 2,500.00) for helping others get FREE medical care. Obama handed out FOOD STAMPS (aka EBT cards) like water … FREE food. Right.
Yes Steve, the average mom (aka family COO) out here in the REAL world, could predict the eventual economic collapse. She “felt” it with every grocery bill, and tax bill. Now the Federal Gov’t. Is $ 20 Trillion in debt. And she knows what will happen to America if we don’t WORK our way out of this overhanging debt. There is no FREE way out of this hole.

  6. The ‘Murrcans are hooped. There is no way out for them, no way they can ever even pay down the slightest amount of their debt. The brokest nation in history, the broodiest broke blokes ever. The Asians will overtake them and consign them to the dustbin of history where they belong. Us Canuckistanians will go along with it all, smiling and nodding and tugging at our forelocks just as we did with the Brits for so many years. Truly pathetic ‘Murrcans, truly subservient Canuckistanians. Glad I only have a very few years left.

  7. Great Video – Great Commentary by Mr Bannon.
The system is beyond broken and that fact came to light in the aftermath of 2008. Trillions poured into so called “too big to fail” corporations – Banks etc. We see the same assinine BS up here with Mr Harpers bill that would allow our Banks to Bail in…ie: grab our depsoits in order to not “fail”
One wonders why anyone would keep their money in a Bank..?? Physical Gold / Silver will one day in the not too distant future be, once again, viable currency. Fiat money is nothing but paper (polymer in our case).

  8. This is interesting.
Never noticed this guy before he was appointed by Trump.
The mass media, the international socialists and the political class onslaught was something to see and wonder. What did the guy do?
It is becoming very clear after listening to the clip. He is threatening the ruling class. Does not respect the rules. Observed all the schemes of the rulers, both the Democrats and republicans.
There is talk about crony capitalism. Yeah, it is the socialist camouflage of their own doing. It is fascism. The ruling class and the non-free enterprise are in the same bag of excrement. The non-free enterprise needs cheap labour, the ruling class is there to supply it.
Both of them are condemning the unemployed working people for voting for Trump, being uneducated, really being stupid because they can’t see the useless good that they prophesize.
It is though astonishing that it is the ruling class and the Democrats that caused the unemployment. There are a few and none in the mass media and the news manufacturing that will really point to that.
In the media, there again, are few and none that would support Bannon in fear of being called out for noncompliance with the media central committee that could be known as the Ministry of Truth.
Don’t know what they teach in history and economics classes, though as is appears, not much and what is taught is made up as per the central committee directorate.
Many times, those that you agree with are put on a pedestal, more often than not they fall, not because major shift in their thinking, just because they are not one hundred percent down with the program as imagined by those that put them on the pedestal in the first place.
This Bannon guy looks like he has got a good sense of what can be done to prompt, to solve some problems. He is not a saviour, just a guy that thinks that there are ways to solve certain problems. He will modify the proposed solutions when it makes sense, to stay on track.
    Will see.
There is no hope, there is though thought, hard work and fight that will work.

  9. If you are prepared to invest the time a reading of some Max Weber may help you understand the failure.
His central thesis is that in ANY organization we as a species tend to adopt behavioral norms that reinforce hierarchies. That is we tend to suck up and blow down. Not because we are toadies, but because in any organization that is the type of behavior that gets rewarded. I suspect most here would agree that we really do respond to incentives and in ANY organization folks who seriously rock the boat do not tend to rise to the top…this behavior is as old as The Emperor’s New Clothes. Fact check what happens to whistle blowers.
Understanding why something is happening is arguably more important than understanding what is happening. Once we know why, perhaps we have a chance to alter outcomes.

  10. Contingent Liabilities that can’t be paid, won’t. This is the only way Canada (and the US) is going to balance its books.
I would say that free health care and long term pensions, that baby boomers dreamed up, will soon come to an end. When they all start needing care and dying, the health care system will collapse.
We are all supposed to believe that you can work for 30 years, then retire for 30 years, and someone else will pay your way? Good riddance to all you baby boomers out there, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

  11. “Understanding why something is happening is arguably more important than understanding what is happening”
Yes peter, you can’t fix what you don’t understand. The reform party was started a initially run by some one who believed in absolute authority, Manning. When Manning lost “control” his true character started to shine through. First person I ever discussed AGW with was a devote Christian, and subsequently I seen many other Christians who either believe that nonsense, or think we should heed it, “just in case”. They are believers through and through, they have never learned to question their belief. And Manning, and many of his sheeple have that disease.

  12. “I suspect most here would agree that we really do respond to incentives and in ANY organization folks who seriously rock the boat do not tend to rise to the top”. Peter
The concept is flawed in practice.. A mover & shaker does not rock the boat destructively, the go along to get along will never reach their true potential…
In my 75 years, from design Engineer to Engineering Project Manager. I encountered 2 types of Management style of the Broadcast industry in the USA
A ) The suck up blow down incompetent manager who couldn’t count backwards from 10. Who was terrified to make a mistake.. The DR no…
    B) The competent manager that has a compulsive tenancy to punish those below them. Push them beyond their abilities & encouraging them to fail…..
At an NBC NYC Christmas party a Southern Engineer asked me how I always got the prestige Projects, while he was sucking up to the Director of Engineering who would always get fired… I answered him honestly..
I always deny that I want the BEST Projects..
The Type A thinks I know something that makes the project more difficult & the type B wants to screw Phil…
    Worked every time
    JMHO

  13. “We see the same assinine BS up here with Mr Harpers bill that would allow our Banks to Bail in…ie: grab our depsoits in order to not “fail” ”
You mean as opposed to stealing everyone’s money by inflating the currency, the normal procedure. Debt can always be cured Zimbabwe style. It may take a generation or two to convince people to keep significant cash or cash deposits.

  14. I wasn’t really involved until Grant McLeod was the interim leader so can not speak to what happened first. I was closely involved from then until recently. My observation (upon reflection) was made possible by coming to understand how otherwise mostly decent men and women became that which they loathed…it was to get sh*t done. The only way to get Sh*t done is to motivate those empowered to do it to make it relevant to them from their organizational perspective; their role in the organization…seeking perks, promotions and prestige. When “your” former adversary becomes “your” departmental staff member you are a fool if you don’t get with “their” program if you wish to have any hope in implementing “your” program.

  15. “Why would anyone listen to this fascistic anti-Semite?”
Is there evidence that he is anti-Semite?
“I think we have to be very careful before we accuse any particular individual of being an anti-Semite…. He has been supportive of Israel…. But it is not legitimate to call somebody an anti-Semite because you might disagree with their policies.”
    Alan Dershowitz

  16. “”His ex-wife makes clear that he used to be unhappy about his kids fraternizing with Jews in school. He didn’t like them.””
What medication are you taking, in divorcee every negative attribute become Truth… Only a retard would think that the divorce slime lawyer would speak anything but nonsense to get the best monitory settlement. Go back to the magic urinal that is whispering in your ear…

  17. My ex-wife was making the payments on her boyfriend’s Harley Davidson, then going to court claiming that her rent had gone up. She actually presented a document to the court in the form of an affidavit that the judge bought hook, line, and sinker.
Then after she got the cash, the kids came to live with me.
I wonder if that situation multiplied thousands if not millions of times over may have contributed to the breakdown in our social and economic systems.

  18. Re: Baby Boomers!!
That’s the thanks we get for having given you the gift of life, the Ford Mustang and the Ski-Doo Elan!! And don’t forget CB Radio! You’re an ingrate little prikk!

  19. Thanx slapshot…!! I don’t find Steve Bannon Anti Semitic or A Fascist whatsoever. He tells it like it is….something we have not seen in a long time. I just saw a meme on FB Trashing him as Racist because he had the audacity to call an obvious case of Islamic Terrorism – a case of defacto Islamic terrorism. That the MSM would do that..?? Ha.! or the Obama Administration..?? Ha.! Not a freaking chance for that Muslim Brotherhood Mole…
Those who call for an end to Islamic Immigration or migration do so for one reason. Survival of Western Civilization – and I’m am on board with that 100%. So Mr. UnoMe – local Marxist, when you get to the point of having done as much reading and research on Islam, the Muslim Brotherhood, Daesh and their Goal of World domination – Sharia for all, then I might listen to your inane blathering…otherwise (kindly & pleasantly), peess off….capiche..?

  20. CT, the average Canadian is a freaking socialist, so don’t expect change until after the country has gone bankrupt and the freebees stop.

  21. I kind of agree with John Peg. the future is not that bright when one sees the intellectual prowess of the current generation. I doubt their offspring will any better. I too do not have a great deal of time. of course with assisted dying who knows whether or not one will be assisted.
