  1. Worth pointing out that if you can’t donate $$$, you can donate services. One of the things that news orgs badly need is video footage. If people living in every town and city could go out with a FullHD (1920×1080) video camera (even your smartphone usually does this now) and a tripod to shoot 60-120 second clips of things like RCMP stations, city halls, hospitals, and prominent buildings in your town, it would REALLY help them out. Keep them having to pay for this stuff. They could store a massive library of full HD video on Youtube to use at no cost if people donated it to them. Please keep this in mind.

  2. Donating my “surplus” that has been piling up
since dumping Rogers Cable last summer.
    Poetic Justice for sure!

  3. Whoops. In previous comment I meant to say they need a library of STOCK video footage on file to use. Need more coffee. Ugh.

  4. I’m in for the difference between Shaw with Sun and basic Shaw. I wonder how many others cut back their cable/sat a week ago Friday. Cheers, Eric (ps – could you please left justify the comments. Centre is hard to read.)

  6. I’m trying to give 100$ but it won’t let me donate I guess I will just snail mail it in .

  7. I like the idea of donating footage, photos or time. I’ll have to explore this option more closely.
Doubt I’ll donate though because I don’t purchase anything over the internet.
Can you give a credit card payment over the phone?
The only time I have paid for TV is when it has been included in other services that I paid for such as renting a hotel room or apartment. I was one of the people that viewed SUNNEWS on the web or, very rarely, at friends homes. I did however give a few friends and families the gift of SUNNEWS — a few months worth of subscription to get them started. Oddly, it did not take. I guess they were not as conservative as I thought.
I used to follow Glen Beck more but since he went to the pay system it has become too much of a pain in the butt to get his content. If this happens with TheRebels I’m afraid I won’t get to read and see what they have to contribute.
    Cheap Conservative

  8. I cancelled the Sun channel on Telus the day after. And just sent a contribution to Rebel. Without access to differing opinions, we can’t make informed choices.

  9. I’ve contributed to Energy Journalism.
C’mon folks, go there right now and donate something.

  10. Calculated what I spent on SUN News for the year on my cable bill and sent in that as a contribution. Good luck.

  11. Just listening to the upcoming Whisky Tango Foxtrot mess that is about to happen with the NET neutrality discussion in the States. We already have it in Canada in the CRTC. I’m with most of the rest of you with $100.00 donation, and I’m looking at the CPC platform before I donate in their direction again. I’m all for private donations to causes I truly believe in but they had better deliver on the promises if they expect to keep the donations rolling in.

  12. I may be too cynical for my own good, but people should be weary about sending a bunch of cash to this endeavor. A Youtube channel featuring Ezra ranting in his living room on a webcam? Has that really what conservatism in Canada in 2015 has come to?

  13. Has that really what conservatism in Canada in 2015 has come to?
Yes, because they guy who plays a Conservative in the House of Commons appoints judges and board members who have no idea what conservatism is.

  14. oa515 it’s so that they can get an office or studio and be like glenn beck. check out the video he wants a studio and I don’t want to have to pay for a subscription. I think it is great and I trust brian lilley and Ezra Levant.

  15. I sent a few dollars over for the same reason I have supported Kate’s SDA over the years. You have to fight the progressives and tell the stories that are ignored. Go Rebel Media.
BTW Lance thanks for your efforts especially getting that SDA banner back up …. I missed that.

  16. Antenor, I too am concerned about this Net Neutered-reality that is coming down in the U.S. How can/will this affect us?
The U.S. has the main servers. Will they hurt conservatives here in Canada? Will they block U.S. connectivity to sites like SDA and the new ‘theRebel’. Time will tell, and soon.

  17. I really am surprised how much money they raised most of the columns on the fund pages where at zero around nine this morning.

  18. I just put a (substantial for me) cheque in an envelope and will mail it off tomorrow. But on behalf of “the working poor” out here in the boondocks I have something to say to Ezra, Brian, et al.
I appreciate the fine work you have done on issues of free speech. And I love the fact that you have exposed Turdo la Doo and Obammy for the vacant vessels that they are. But I would like you to spend a bit more time exposing the regulatory/bureaucratic pestilence that is slowly but surely destroying rural and small-town Canada.
When we send you information that agencies like the OSPCA or the CFIA are running roughshod over people’s property and Charter rights, will you please look into it? Your “grassroots” are small, independent folk who will support you to the very end…and all they ask in return is that you carry their torch when they get weary.
Best of luck, and I truly hope that a couple of months form now I will sit down and write you another cheque because you’ve taken care of the “little folk”.

  19. oa515, in response to your query, yes it has come down to this. Silent conservatives are partially to blame for the present state of affairs in this country. The socialist media in Canada have brow beaten and bullied their way to the top of the heap and they sure don’t want an upstart company like SUN NEWS coming along and presenting the alternative side to anything that would threaten their position. The CRTC with their decision to block SUN NEWS from broadcasting on a common carriage channel eliminated a very important section of Canadian democracy.

  20. Hokey Smokes. $90k so far via the internet and $11K in monthly subscriptions. Plus mail ins. Looks like they got a good business plan. I cut the cable long ago, love the direct model.
Congrats to Exra Brain and crew.

  21. Crowd sourcing requires a crowd, so I went through my contacts list and sent the request for funding along to every person I know who may harbour a single conservative thought. And I hope they’ll do the same.
And of course, my cheque is in the mail – going to ‘energy reporting’ as that’s what butters the bread of even retirees like myself.

  22. Put my money where my mouth was. Can’t afford much on a monthly basis, but this is worth the shot. We need a conservative voice here in Canada that doesn’t bow to the leftist PTB. A monthly subscription to assist in day to day endeavors. If they launched this crowd source today and got a lot of stuff they need already then this bodes well for the conservative voice.
    UP THE REBEL!

  23. You know, in many ways I have to agree. I am not sure if the bureaucrats told PM Harper how things actually run in Ottawa, whether the Conservatives have been Ottawashed, or just what they are up to. They also never did further reduce the onerous provisions of Bill C-68 (?) (firearms laws). I think they have become progressivized.
I will be helping out Ezra and company.

  24. YES, soon as the e-mail memo hit the in box Paypal sent in my first donation. It was so delightful to see that the ex-SUNNERS or family – friends – contacts have jumped on the band-wagon to help get theREBEL.media up and running in as professional a manner as possible.
Brian Lilley did a piece the other day standing in what looked like an office tower with a very interesting background, glass elevators and big tropical plants — couldn’t help but laugh out loud at how ‘stick it to em’ it appeared. Probably the CBC tower in downtown Tarrana …

  25. Sean’s got a very good point re: stock footage. Getting some good shots of prominent features of your hometown or nearest landmarks will help create better quality coverage of stories in your area.

  26. Now that SNN is no more, so too is my Rogers cable! I have officially become a Rebel Recruit. Brian Lilley’s informative segments on gun rights in Canada prompted my husband and I to become restricted gun owners. The legal gun owners we’ve come to know in this new adventure in our lives represent the best of Canadian Conservative views.

  27. In Mexico at the moment….will send money once safely back in the GWN….THIS WILL WORK…and the timing is great…..calling liberal moose poop gets me so excited I want to reach out and touch God….GO TEAM…
