Electronic Nicotine saves lives.

Bravo Zulu, Doug Ford.

“The government will work with the public, experts, and businesses to re-examine the evidence related to vaping as a smoking cessation tool to ensure that any changes are in the best interests of everyone and protect Ontarians’ health and safety,” he said in a statement.

The NGO’s, tobacco companies and pharmaceuticals can piss-off with their fear mongering about vaping and nicotine in and of itself. The last thing they want is to actually look at data. That it’s as bad for you as sitting on a patio on the street is not something they want thought about. That using nicotine, without the combustion, is as deadly as coffee is not the narrative they want out in the general public.

  1. It’s way worse than fearmonging. People will die, if they are successful in their propaganda campaign to destroy the one option for quitting cigarettes that seems to work for most smokers. And they are doing this for power and profit.

  2. This science is conclusive and yet lefties want to prevent vaping and it benefits.

  3. The fear mongers also forget the productivity gains if people were allowed to vape in an office.
No trotting outside for a smoke every hour if you could vape at your desk. No more pretending exhaling or inhaling water vapour is dangerous.

  4. I was able to kick a twenty year smoking habit and I wouldn’t have been able to quit had it not been for vaping… straight up. I weened myself off of the nicotine and now the only time I really vape is when I’m having a few ales or the occasional scotch. Personally I have nothing against smoking, I did enjoy it, but a few health concerns made me make the effort to quit. If someone wants to quit smoking tobacco I would recommend that you try vaping while slowly lowering your nicotine count… it worked for me.

  5. I recently read a lefty article which stated that vaping should be highly regulated or outlawed entirely since not enough research had been carried out to determine the amount of harm, if any, that would result from using electronic cigarettes. Further into the article, the point was made that marijuana use should not face restrictions since not enough research had been carried out to warrant such actions. The author was using the same reasoning to slam one activity and promote another. The combination of stupidity and hypocrisy is really quite astounding. Accolades to Doug Ford for exercising two attributes possessed by very few politicians nowadays ….common sense and intestinal fortitude.

  6. I would do it in a heartbeat….if I wasn’t scared to death the thing would explode in my face

    1. Do these It won’t blow up in your face:

Don’t buy cheap Chinese knock-off batteries, if it’s “too good to be true…”
Use a regulated device, preferably single battery.
Use a battery charger instead of the on-board USB device. If you do use the USB, wait half an hour after charging before using.
Don’t build your own coils until you understand Ohms Law and batteries.
Always test the resistance of your coils if you build your own.
Don’t sub-ohm until you REALLY understand Ohms Law and have confidence in your batteries.

Me, I build my own coils, use a single battery regulated device, charge in a charger, use a single coil and don’t go below 1 ohm, 10-15w. I buy only Sony VC5/6s.

  7. Vaping is good. Smoking not so good. If I hadn’t quit the ladder I would have switched to the former. People against vaping should be caned … by people vaping in a room full of smokers.

  8. Lance, it might interest you to know that the smoke component in vaping (propylene glycol) is exactly the same smoke component used on film sets everywhere in N. America to make that nice soft atmospheric smoke look that Directors of Photography love so much, and in the MSDS for said chemical is declared non-hazardous and totally non toxic.

Seems to me if all those highly paid and highly fragile actors/directors/producers can spend 12 hours a day breathing this stuff on set, it might just possibly be safe for you, too,

    1. propylene glycol is antifreeze….It’s not supposed to hurt you….but it kills some birds
It used to be common in a type of bird food….toucans, mynahs, etc….fruit eaters sensitive to iron
..they had to take it out because it kills them…it’s also used in some injectable meds…and of course, you can’t use them on those birds either

      1. You are thinking of ethylene glycol. That is indeed toxic, whereas propylene glycol is not. Both make good anti-freeze.

In any case. as I said, propylene glycol is indeed safe according to the MSDS and is indeed used on every film set to make atmospheric smoke.

        1. Propylene glycol is not anti-freeze but rather an additive to anti-freeze.

“propylene glycol lowers the freezing point of water (just like salt) and was introduced into antifreeze products to replace [the much more dangerous ethylene glycol].”

It is common in drinks, medications and topical creams.

If vaping saves lives (which I am convinced it can) then why would the government want to tax it?

  9. I quit a 25+ year smoking habit THE VERY AFTERNOON I got my first decent e-cig – a Sigelei. That was almost 4 years ago.

I stopped hacking up brown stuff, renewed my sense of smell and taste, lost the nasty smoke odor, and was able to adjust my nicotine slowly down to zero. Costs about 1/4 of smoking, if that.

E-cigs are a fucking miracle, and these filthy jackasses want to destroy them.

  10. in the MSDS for said chemical is declared non-hazardous and totally non toxic.

It’s inert. You can literally drink the stuff and it has no adverse effects.

  11. The part I love about the Liberals is they were going to make vaping illegal the same year they were making weed legal.

Just run that past your moral calculator a few times, see what the reading is.

        1. OMG don’t SAY that! Some of these idiots actually believe it does! They go off their chemo and smoke weed all day instead.

No, weed does -not- cure cancer. No, no, no!

    1. I put that into my HP15C and it returned several orders of amoral magnitude in Reverse Polish logic.

  12. The Anti Smoking groups (sick bastard Social Engineers) are losing their share of decreasing TAX revenue and are now supporting the Tobacco Industry by demonizing Vaping so more cigarettes are sold.. The obvious is obvious

  13. Vaping is undergoing a tech explosion right now, nicotine salts are the new thing, check out the pioneering JUUL which sold millions and was very quickly made obsolete by improved designs. These are discrete very small devices that deliver very strong nicotine. We’ve all seen the showoff “cloud chaser” vapers who blow out massive clouds of steam, they attracted too much attention and kind of ruined it for everyone, the new nicotine salt vapers are very discrete. As for the exploding units, I’ve seen the ten buckers in dumpy import stores, scary. A good quality device has lots of safety features and is no more of an explosion threat than your cell phone.

The only problem with nicotine salts is the strength, conventional vaping is good for weaning off, salts tend to be more for the nicotine fiend who’s in no rush to quit.

  14. How about a zero tolerance policy towards unnecessary chemicals entering your body?

    ‘Just say no.’
    Nancy Reagan

    1. How about a zero tolerance policy towards the state’s operatives having the hubris in presuming to judge anything unnecessary or necessary?

  15. Batteries: If you put a battery in a pocket full of coins, You should expect HEAT

  16. I owe a great deal to Lance and belatedly thank him from the bottom of my heart. I smoked my last cigarette Mar 1/2015. Still vape but have been down to 0 nicotine for about a year. It was Lance’s posts in SDA that introduced and encouraged me to give it a try. As a hardcore smoker for over 50 years, I didn’t think there was any way I could quit. I thank you and my family thanks you.

There is a great deal more to the habit of smoking than just the nicotine addiction. Vaping allows one to deal with the nicotine and the harmful tobacco burning products at a pace that doesn’t cause terrible withdrawal effects. It is crazy that vaping is treated like smoking and I Highly recommend trying vaping to replace cigarettes if you are trying to quit or cut down.

  17. Just quit when you are ready. I quit 3 times before my final quit 38 years ago. I had smoked for 25 years starting at age 13.
