One Flu Out Of The Wuhan Nest

No debate about COVID’s origins was permitted. It had been settled by The Science™.

The reason this consensus was so quickly consecrated was that a group of more than two dozen scientists published a letter in the prestigious science journal Lancet in February, 2020 — while very little was known about SARS-CoV-2 — didactically declaring “that this coronavirus originated in wildlife.” The possibility that COVID leaked from the Wuhan lab was dismissed as a “conspiracy theory,” the by-product of “rumours and misinformation” which, they strongly implied, was an unfair and possibly racist attack on “the science and health professionals of China.”

For months, that letter shaped the permissible range of debate regarding the origins of COVID. Or, more accurately, it ensured that there was no debate permitted. The Science™ concluded that COVID was a zoonotic virus that naturally leaped from non-human animal to human, and any questioning of this decree was deemed an attack on The Science™.

That Lancet letter has fallen into disrepute due to the key role in its publication played by one of its signatories, Peter Daszak of the EcoHealth Alliance. To say that Daszak had a gigantic but undisclosed conflict of interest in disseminating this narrative about the natural origins of COVID is to understate the case. Daszak had received millions of dollars in grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH) to conduct research into coronaviruses in bats, and EcoHealth awarded part of that grant to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the lab which would be the leading suspect, by far, for any COVID lab leak.

Daszak’s enormous self-interest in leading the world to believe that a lab leak was impossible is obvious. It would be a likely career-ending blow to his reputation if the Wuhan laboratory to which EcoHealth had provided funding for coronavirus bat research was responsible for the escape of a virus that has killed millions of people around the world and caused enduring suffering among countless others due to lockdowns and economic shutdowns.

Hippos And Tigers And White Tails, Oh My!

I’m no scientist, but it’s kind of weird that investigators tested thousands of animal samples in and around the Wuhan wet market, searching for the original animal vector for Sars-Cov-2 only to come up empty — yet the same virus seems capable of infecting nearly anything that walks and breathes.

A pair of runny-nosed hippos at the Antwerp Zoo in Belgium have tested positive for COVID-19 in what appears to be the first known cases for the species, officials said.

Imani, 14, and Hermien, 41, so far have no symptoms except for their runny noses and are “doing well,” according to the zoo, The Brussels Times reported.

They’re currently in quarantine as a precaution, with their enclosure sealed off, according to officials.

Like I said, weird.

Via Alina ChanApril 2020 Phillip Russell, former president of American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene told James Le Duc, former director of Galveston National Laboratory that signs “point to the lab as the source of the outbreak.” […] It’s unfortunate but I think we will only see the true thoughts of many virologists and experts on the #OriginOfCovid in FOIA’ed emails. Many have probably moved to secure channels now.

A discussion you won’t see on the CBC

Grab a coffee and take the time to listen to this group of experts engaging in the kind of open discussion that we desperately need to have today. Geert Vanden Bossche is one of the participants. The most common observation is that today’s mass vaccination program is completely ignoring the role that innate immunity needs to play in the fight against Covid.

“…it worries me that these leaky, incomplete, sub-optimal vaccines are immunotherapy of an unknown kind of consequence…”

Masks work!…until they don’t…

With airline flights now being barred from various nations in the latest knee jerk response to avoid importing the latest Covid variant, (which is apparently already here), this news item inadvertently destroys the case for mask usage.

The traveller from South Africa used a mask with a valve that doesn’t filter exhaled air and may have transmitted the virus to his neighbour when the hotel room door was open, a health department spokesperson said Friday.

As the mass vaccination program lurches to another grandiose failure, it would not be a surprise to see mask rules mandating the use of industrial respirators. Who knows what absurdity is next at this point?

Why do we protect @EcoHealthNYC?

Prediction: many years from today, this will be found to be a bioweapons program deliberately repurposed to evade bioweapon restrictions, dressed up as a hippie eco-charity so as not to look like DOD/IC.

The vaccines are “working”….

A vaccine proclaimed as 98% effective combined with a mass vaccination program was supposed to allow a return to normal existence. Judging by what is now happening in the UK, the window for normal existence may be closing rapidly, less than 4 months after most restrictions were lifted.

The culprit? That could never be a vaccine whose effectiveness was deliberately oversold to the public. Rather, the problem arose when the failings were not covered up with the permanent imposition of a bewildering myriad of restrictions on normality. The vaccination program is starting to resemble an inept worker whom the authorities must “protect” from the consequences of his own incompetence, instead of demanding accountability:

“We have the vaccines and we know which public health protections are effective … but the government has removed all public health protections to protect the vaccination programme.”
