Things You’ll Never See At The CBC

Dave Snow, for The Hub;

A common argument in favour of defunding the CBC is that its news content exhibits ideological bias. In particular, it has been subject to criticism that it is too progressive and Liberal-friendly, including for instance in its recent coverage of the Israel-Hamas war and Chinese interference in Canadian elections.

However, the assumption of the CBC’s progressive bias has rarely been tested empirically. To remedy this, I conducted an analysis of the CBC’s coverage of an issue that became a sustained national news story this past fall: Saskatchewan’s parental consent policy for children’s gender pronoun changes in schools.

The public debate around Saskatchewan’s pronoun policy involves complexity, competing perspectives, and evolving public opinion. It’s the sort of issue for which the role of the news media is presumably to establish and situate the facts, present the different points of view, and help Canadians work through the nuances. Yet, as my analysis shows, that’s not how the CBC’s reporting handled the issue. […]

Across 38 articles, the CBC quoted more than five times as many critics of Saskatchewan’s policy as supporters (81 critics, 15 supporters, and five neutral). Moreover, supporters were grouped into a small number of articles, with six of the 15 supporters quoted in a single story about competing public rallies. Only 16 percent of the total articles (six of 38) quoted at least one supporter of the policy, compared to 95 percent of articles (36 of 38) that quoted at least one critic of the government’s policy. And support was never presented independent of criticism: all six articles that included a quote from a supporter also included at least one quote from a critic.

The critics quoted by the CBC were also far more likely to be in a position of authority, while supporters were almost entirely laypeople. Of the 59 critics whose opinions were sought out by the CBC, 26 were what I classify as “experts”—lawyers and legal scholars, professors, school board presidents, health professionals, and LGBTQ organizations—and a further six were teachers. The focus on expertise was even higher from those quoted from the public record: of the 22 critics who were quoted from the public record, twenty (91 percent) were experts or organizations representing experts. By contrast, CBC reporters did not seek out a single “expert” to speak in favour of Saskatchewan’s policy. Of the 13 quotes from supporters that were sought by the CBC, nine were from community members or protestors at rallies, while four were from the leaders of three small socially conservative interest groups.

Judge Loretta A. Preska Didn’t Kill Herself

Tomorrow’s headline, today.

Dozens of Jeffrey Epstein’s high profile associates are in for a New Year’s surprise as they will be named in court documents set to be released in the first days of 2024.

The pedophile’s powerful friends are set to be exposed as part of a vast unsealing that a judge ordered on Monday will take place in 14 days.

That will take the release day to January 1 – but as that is a holiday it is likely the files will be made public the following day.

“I’ve just flown in from California, where they’ve made homosexuality legal. I thought I’d get out before they make it compulsory.”

Bend over and smile back at the camera, America.

Today the ever proliferating range of boutique identities seems relentlessly central to every aspect of public affairs, from the White House Christmas jubilations to that school-board president’s kindergarten classes to the flagpole of the abandoned Kabul embassy to Nato headquarters, where the Secretary-General now issues an annual statement against “biphobia” and “transphobia”:

Is battling “biphobia” really a strategic priority for Nato? Did he run that past the Turkish defence minister? Is that why the Nato-created “Afghan National Army” went (unlike Aidan Maese-Czeropski on the Senate Judiciary Committee table) belly up?

Well, yes, it is our strategic priority, according to a fascinating essay in The American Conservative. Helen Andrews starts with a throwaway quip by Rod Dreher – that we’re in Ukraine to “queer the Donbass” – and quickly concludes that it’s true. Most of us, according to political inclination, assume that foreign aid goes either to potable water projects in up-country villages or straight into the dictator’s retirement account in Zurich. In fact…

Read the American Conservative piece, too.

Transgender Is A Stalking Horse For The Normalization Of Pedophilia

Easy now, Laverne. Don’t get ahead of your skis.

Some of the kids were toddlers, still in diapers.

Did that stop the twisted compulsions of one Laverne Waskahat, 47, of Edmonton? Not in the least.

A wide array of almost draconian judge’s orders, including banishment from the internet for life? Not in the least.

And now, the trans-identifying woman, all 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds of her, has been released from jail and is back onto the streets of Edmonton. It happened Monday and everyone from the cops to Mrs. Kowalski is aghast.

What more evidence does the public need that the criminal justice system is a crapshoot beyond all belief? Exhibit A: Laverne Waskahat.

Cops are so concerned they’ve released a photo, description and myriad other details warning parents to go ahead and be overprotective.

Oh well, they never listen.

EPS West Branch patrol officers responded to a west-end hotel yesterday, after receiving a tip concerning Laverne Waskahat’s whereabouts. A warrant was issued for her arrest, after Waskahat failed to report to her parole officer. The 47-year-old posed a significant risk to the community and of committing a sexual offence against a child under the age of 16.

At the time of her arrest Wednesday, EPS members also located a baby crib, diapers, dozens of alleged pornographic drawings and a laptop in her hotel room.

The latest sexual orientation to be recognized by the Canadian Medical Association Journal is ‘greysexuality,’ a relatively new subset of asexuality.

Originally published on Dec. 4, the paper featured in Canada’s top medical journal discussed greysexuality as defined as someone who is “experiencing sexual attraction rarely or under specific circumstances.”

Demisexual and greysexual people can still “engage in sex and experience romantic attraction,” according to the article, which was co-authored by Stella A. Schneckenburger, Michelle W.Y. Tam and Lori E. Ross

The term was part of an article on asexuality, which is an umbrella term for those who only form a sexual attraction to someone after their emotional needs are met or for those who are greysexual.

Oh no! Disney has reportedly lost a billion dollars just on four of its recent “woke” movie flops…

You can bring movies to the public, but you cannot make them sell. Once an unassailable and uniting brand, Disney brand is now negatively associated with activism by a significant number of consumers. The company is now even reporting a decline in licensing revenue from products associated with Star Wars, Frozen, Toy Story and Mickey and Friends — iconic and once-unassailable corporate images.

The question is how long Disney (or its shareholders) can tolerate falling revenues tied to its “misalignment with the public.” It is a massive corporation and it can lose billions before facing any truly dire decisions. Yet even Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, now appears to be seeking to “quiet things down” after years of culture wars.

Update: Another bad weekend at the box office.

Pizzagate, Come Back!

All is forgiven.

Patrick Wojahn, a former Democrat mayor of College Park, Maryland has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to dozens of charges relating to the possession of child pornography. The 30-year sentence (150 in total with 120 years suspended) comes after Wojahn reached an agreement with prosecutors, pleading guilty in August to 140 counts related to the possession and distribution of materials depicting child sexual abuse.

A mover and shaker in Democrat political circles, Wojahn described U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg as a ‘friend’ and mentor. In an interview with the Washington Blade, a gay news site, Wojahn said: “I actually met Mayor Pete Buttigieg shortly after I was elected mayor in 2015. I went to the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Winter Meeting in D.C. in January, and he was assigned to be my buddy.”

But wait, the day is still young!

In a recent crackdown on human trafficking in Coweta County, Georgia, an unsettling revelation has come to light: among those apprehended in a law enforcement sting operation is Stephen Francis Hovanic, a senior official with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) Americas division, which oversees elementary education for military families.

Pizzagate, Come Back!

All is forgiven.

Former editor-in-chief of The Recount, Slade Sohmer, was charged for the possession and distribution of child pornography, according to Massachusetts authorities. The 44-year-old reportedly disseminated “hundreds of child pornography images and videos,” as reported by The Berkshire Eagle. Sohmer, who also worked as a camp counselor for a New York City-based nonprofit, was arrested at his residence in Otis, Massachusetts after a search warrant led to the seizure of his electronic devices. The former editor pleaded not guilty to two charges of possession and two charges of dissemination of child pornography upon his release on a $100,000 bail.

The Recount is a far-left site founded by The Circus’s John Heilemann, who hired Sohmer as editor-in-chief. While Sohmer’s LinkedIn page still lists him as the Editor-in-Chief, The Recount has recently been sold to a far-left Gen-Z news network and its “Team” page is now blank. In 2018, Buzzfeed appeared to celebrate Sohmer discussing his sexuality with 10-year-olds.

The airbrushing has begun.

Related. Reduxx has learned that a trans-identified male currently working for the Berlin police force has been posting fetish content online, some of which involve themes of transitioning and sexualizing children.

Also related, and this time I won’t spoil the ending: Slade Sohmer, editor of left-wing news site “The Recount” was previously celebrated for discussing sexuality with elementary kids.

As I reported last Friday, the irreverent and often hilarious show South Park took a swing at the infection of woke culture in the arts and took specific aim at Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and Disney. The clips of the show alone went viral across the internet, sparking a very unwanted conversation for Disney about the direction it’s gone and the bad will it created with audiences.

But amid all the voices commenting about Disney, Carano’s words were the loudest as her post on X contained an insider’s look at, not just the state of Lucasfilm, but the terrible weakness and insecurity of its studio head, Kennedy […]

Carano revealed that, during her employment with Lucasfilm, she was asked to unfollow certain accounts on Twitter because they’d said some bad things about Kennedy. Carano saw this as an issue because she knew that being in the public eye meant getting haters, but Carano also saw these people as opportunities to win over new fans. Moreover, some of these “haters” were actual fans of Star Wars that felt the universe had gone in the wrong direction, and that their criticisms were worth listening to.

But Kennedy didn’t just ignore them, she actively had these fans attacked, causing one of the worst collapses of a fan base in history.

Mischief is important.

Isabelle M. Ayala vs American Academy Of Pediatrics

Billboard Chris;

The American Academy of Pediatrics and several leading doctors are being sued for civil conspiracy, fraud, and medical malpractice!

Isabelle Ayala was just 14 years old and struggling with trauma, depression, cutting, and suicidal ideation when she was coerced onto testosterone by ideologically captured doctors who push childhood sex changes.

Isabelle has suffered from vaginal atrophy from the extensive use of testosterone; she deals with excess facial and body hair; she struggles with compromised bone structure; she is unsure whether her fertility has been irreversibly compromised; she still has mental health issues and deals with episodes of anxiety and depression, further compounded by a sense of regret; and she has since contracted an autoimmune disease that only the males in her family have a history of.

Under the AAP’s so-called ‘gender-affirmative care’ model, the charlatans named in this lawsuit advocate for the immediate, unquestioned embrace of a child’s chosen ‘gender identity.’

They also advocate for immediate ‘social transitioning’ of the child to the newly chosen gender identity, and encourage puberty blocking drugs and cross-sex hormones.

Notably, at least four of the six members of the Committee including Defendants Dr. Rafferty, Dr. Forcier, Dr. Allen, and Dr. Sherer —worked at pediatric gender clinics that prescribe puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to patients as young as 10 and

Instead of supporting the conclusions and recommendations contained in the policy statement with scientific evidence, they fraudulently and misleadingly cited evidence that did not support any of their conclusions and recommendations, and they knowingly misrepresented the known risks and dangers of some of the medical interventions the policy statement promoted.

Another Win For The SaskParty

Winning so hard, I don’t know if I can handle this much winning.

A member of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission has resigned, citing the provincial government’s proposed pronoun policy.

In an email to Premier Scott Moe, Heather Kuttai said her decision to resign as one of the organization’s six commissioners — which is effective immediately — “did not come lightly.”

“I strongly disagree with the proposed legislation that requires teachers to seek parental permission to change a child’s name and/or pronouns when they are at school,” Kuttai wrote. “This is an attack on the rights of trans, non-binary, and gender diverse children, which, contrary to what is being reported, is actually a very small number of kids.”

Kuttai, who was appointed to the commission in 2014, said she believed the commission was designed to uphold individual rights. She suggested the proposed legislation doesn’t provide that protection for children.

“A child’s rights must always take precedence over a parent’s obligations and responsibilities,” she wrote. “Removing a child’s rights, in the name of ‘parental rights’ is fundamentally anti-trans and harmful.

Like a self-weeding garden, the ‘Parents’ Bill of Rights’ has begun to remove the groomers from our institutions, one hissy fit at a time.
